Listening to BlipFM on OS 10.9.3 upgrade

I recently upgraded my MacBook Pro to Mavericks. A few glitches but mostly very happy, until now. I listen to BlipFM a lot and today I found that I can no longer hear anything. I check volume/mute and all are working. Anyone else familiar with this issue?

Is sound working in other applications, and on other websites? If the problem is limited to that site, it probably has an internal mute setting.

Starting 10g listener

Hi,
I am upgrading a database to 10g manually and before I issue the startup upgrade command, I believe I have to start the 10g listener. The script I always use for the db-tier listener is under $ORACLE_HOME/appsutil /script directory but my new install of 10g software has not got any appsutil directory. So, my questions is how do I start the 10g listener?

Once you are done with the upgrade, you will need to implement and run AutoConfig on the new Database home for the purpose of creating appsutil directory. Help with making JLabel visible for a few seconds only

Hello guys,
I need help with making a JLabel object visible for a few seconds only and disappear when a JButton has been clicked.
Here is piece of code where I add mouse listener to the JButton object in my case is (jrbFigure1) and
when is called sets icon and text to the JLabel jlbl object:

2nd gen shuffle won't play podcasts after upgrading to Itunes 7.2(34)

I use my shuffle to listen to podcasts only. Last week afer upgrading Itunes it stopped playing and the LED would flash alternating green and orange. I did the 5 R's apple recommends and it still would not work. I even downloaded Apple's Ipod Reset Utility, it still would not work. I took it to the Genius Bar at the apple store because it is only 3 months old and they gave me a new shuffle. After returning home and trying to sync the new shuffle to my podcasts it had the same problem as the previous shuffle. This got me to thinking it was something besides the shuffle. The only thing I could think of was the new version of Itunes. So I tried to put other things on there besides podcasts. I added itunes store bought music, both drm and drm free, mp3 and aac music that I ripped in itunes before and mp3 and aac podcasts that I have downloaded. The shuffle played all the music but skipped over the podcasts. Please help. I was able to play these podcasts before on the shuffle so the file type is not an issue. I can play the podcasts on my video Ipod. I can even play them on the shuffle via itunes when it is connected to my computer. I don't know what to do and I am seriously falling behind on my podcasts. Any tips would be appreciated

Hello FrayedSo, Sorry to read your having a difficult time with your shuffle and podcasts.
As you mentioned earlier this is your second shuffle and it is able to play songs you purchase or put onto it but it skips past the Podcasts.
Are you playing these podcasts as part of a Playlist? or is this happening in shuffle mode?
Some of the things you could do to possibly assist with troubleshooting your issue are below.
Make sure to Consolidate your iTunes Library so all your information is backed up to your iTunes Music folder. You can do this by going to Advanced-Consolidate Library.

"Playing Audiobooks and podcasts on iPod shuffle
When iPod shuffle is set to shuffle songs it will play all the audio files on iPod shuffle that are not audiobooks. Podcasts of type .m4b or AAC will not play on iPod shuffle when it is in shuffle mode, which is the intended behavior, although a podcast of type .mp3 or .wav may play while in shuffle mode. To play an audiobook or podcast that is on iPod shuffle, set the switch on iPod shuffle to play in order."

Another thing you could try. Create a new user account on your Windows System and download some podcasts and sync it to your shuffle and see if the same issue occurs.

11i db upgrade questsions

Hi experts,
We are planning to upgrade 11.5.10 rac database from 10.1 to 10.2, a few questions posted on RAC and DB upgrade blog are still awaiting responses. Thought I might give a try here:
1) We need to upgrade CRS from 10.1 to 10.2 before database upgrade
Found CRS 10.2 PSU 8705958 - 10.2.0.4.2 for CRS PSU 2
Should we apply the CRS PSU on the 10.2 ORACLE_HOME with binaries and 10.2.0.4 patchset before the db upgrade? Or should we apply the CRS PSU after the DB upgrade.
2) The OTN blogs has a number of postings on CRS listener registration or startup problems after the dbua upgrade. Could someone let me know if I should copy or move the 10.1 TNS_ADMIN directory and files to 10.2 if we choose to use dbua for the upgrade. I have seen notes about doing such thing in manual database upgrade.
3) We installed the 10.2.0.1 rdbms binaries and 10.2.0.4 patchset using OUI without setting any environment variables. Simply provided the sid, the new ORACLE_HOME and Inventory location to OUI while remaining 10.1.0 environment variables, such as PATH and LD_LIBRARY_PATH had been set upon login.
Should we be concerned about the integrity of the 10.2.0.1 and 10.2.0.4 binaries installed so far?

b) CRS home: "opatch auto" 10.2.0.4.2 CRS PSU 2
c) 10.2.0 ORACLE home: optach Jan-2010 rdbms psu on 10.2.0.4
d) No ORACLE home specification: dbua rdbms from 10.1.05 to 10.2.0.4

Iphone shuts down when I jog

Doesn't seem like anyone else has seen this.
iPhone 4S. Using Nike+ Running app and (streaming radio with Iheartradio app or streaming in safari or I believe I once listened to a podcast). While I'm jogging the phone will shutdown and will not turn on, showing there is not enough battery to boot up.
When I get home, I can't do anything with it until I plug it into the wall. It will boot up and will show my actual percentage, today it was 35%.
I see no other issues with it, only when I'm listening to something and running. I've upgraded the iOS every time.
I have no proof but I believe this started after a Nike+ app upgrade.

exact same thing is happening to me. I've no nike app though.
35% and it gives me the battery sign when I run.
any solution???

It was the recent Suitcase Fusion 2 update... and read there were some problems w/ it recognizing it's font "vault" after the update. So... lo and behold... I installed it and bam! No vault!
Thanks for the answer, and I figured as much. I ended up searching for date modified files (sys files too), and just restoring them one-by-one.
Apple, if you're listening, this would be a GREAT feature to upgrade TM w/: the ability to restore apps with their adjunct files, with one click.
Oh, and btw, for the title of my post: ITS, not IT'S... my 3rd grade English teacher would kill me for letting that slip

IPod touch 4G / 5.0.1 no more recognized by dock Pure i-20

Hello,
I'm used to plug my iPod Touch 4G to listen music on my hifi. Since I upgraded my iPod towards 5.0.1 it not more recognize by this dock Pure i-20.
Is it a known problem? What have to do (except buying a new dock ;-(

SB Live External 24-

Hello, i have SB li've external and i have problem with USB bandwidth, but i found this:
Li've External not support USB 2.0, and USB. have not enough bandwith. So if I select in speaker settings "5." quality can be only 6bit. Is it true? How can I listen 5. in 24 bit's (f.e. upgrade firmware to support USB 2.0)
And second query:
Subwoofer out is acti've only in speaker selection 5., but I need to activate sub out in 2. too.
Is there any way how to activate sub in 2. ?

The feature missing from the drivers that you'll need is CMSS. The Feb 3 drivers don't have it. Will have to wait and see if CL releases more drivers with this support.

3g Iphone and Audiobooks Problem

My 3g iphone was working fine until I cancelled my subscription for mobileme. At the same time it stopped letting me access my audiobooks on my iphone. The memory bar shows me they are on the iphone but when I press audiobooks it exits the ipod function and goes to main screen. I have tried going via the artist but they are no longer showing.
I have reloaded my iphone software and resynced all of my music but no joy. The iphone still plays music videos and ordinary music, just not audiobooks.
Any suggestions?

I have the same problem.
Listen to audiobooks all the time. Just upgraded my iphone to 2.1 and now as soon as I try to access the books in the audiobook folder it just goes back to the main menu screen. ....Very annoying.

Searching for solutions to 10.5, iTunes crashes when I try to enter CD info

I like to import, via a Windows machine, audiobook CDs into my iTunes to listen to on my iPhone. Prior to upgrading to 10.5, I had never had any problems. Since upgrading, I cannot import and add info about the CD. Every tine I try to submit the CD Track names (after joining tracks) and enter info on the artist and composer, iTunes crashes. Has any one got any solutions?

IMAP Email Box Greyed Out

I have read other threads on numerous Apple Mail problems with iPhone V2.1 but nobody seems to have this particular problem, so here goes!
1st gen iPhone running 2.1 - just updated from 1.1.2 and wish I hadn't.
In the Mail app, I have 3 email accounts, all IMAP. 1 MobileMe account and 2 Fastmail accounts. The MobileMe and 1 of the Fastmail accounts behave perfectly. The other Fastmail account with almost the same settings other than the username and password, has a greyed-out Inbox which I cannot access. It downloads the number of emails just fine - it registers next to the Inbox how many new emails are waiting at any given time. So it must be connecting to the server. Yet I cannot access the Inbox itself UNLESS the iPhone actually opens Mail at thart particular Inbox and there indeed are all the emails. If I then leave the Inbox and try to go back to it - again, greyed out. This is driving me nuts.
I have tried:
1. Holding down the Home button to quit Mail as per advice in another thread. Doesn't help.
2. Restoring via iTunes to 2.1 again. Doesn't help.
3. Switching the rogue mail account on and off via Settings. Doesn't help.
4. Deleting the entire rogue email account via Settings and within iTunes. Then asking iTunes to "replace mail information on this iPhone". Doesn't help.
5. Deleting the rogue email account and inputting the account back into the iPhone manually. Doesn't help.
I really am at a loss now. Short of Restoring again and this time setting up my iPhone as a new phone, instead of asking it to restore all my old settings, I don't know what to do. And I don't want to do that because then I lose some very precious SMS texts that I want to keep on the iPhone.
Why would one Fastmail IMAP account work perfectly and not the other? It has exactly the same settings, port numbers etc. The only things that are different are the log in name and password.
This rogue email account was working perfectly for 24 hours under 2.1 and then suddenly the Inbox becomes greyed out for seemingly no reason.
If this was happening on my MacBook Pro I'd start troubleshooting by deleting the Mail preference files in the Library. But that isn't possible with the iPhone because I've no idea what files to look for. I may delete something important.
Has anyone any suggestions - other than throwing the iPhone out of the window or taking it back to 1.1.4 [which actually seems a better option]? Is it possible to go back to 1.1.4?

After HOURS of fiddling with this problem, I have at last got my business Fastmail working on the iPhone! It isn't perfect, as I had to fiddle around with the IMAP pathways in Apple Mail on my computer to get it to work with 2.1 on the iPhone, but it is working.
What had happened was that synchronising the Mail with the new 2.1 software on the iPhone, had actually created a new second Inbox within my Fastmail account itself! A knock-on effect in that the second Inbox created on the iPhone had synced back to Apple Mail on my computer and from there to Fastmail. So everything had become very muddled, hence the greyed-out box on the iPhone. I therefore had to go right back to the "head" of the queue - the Fastmail account on the web - delete the extra boxes the iPhone had created, set up the Fastmail account within Apple Mail on my computer all over again, reset the IMAP pathways, and then sync to the iPhone.
I have now switched off the setting that automtically syncronises the Mail box settings on 2.1 on the iPhone so that it doesn't happen again!
It just goes to show I should listen to my own advice - don't ever upgrade just for the sake of it! If something is working and it does what you want it to do, leave it alone. Should have stayed with 1.1.2 for now.

Game sound on iOS4

I'm on a 3Gs and iOS 4.1. After upgrading to iOS 4.1, I can't get sound to play in any game...paid or free. I've turned off the sound, turned on sound, powered off. Still no sound in any game. I can get my alerts to sound and can listen to podcasts with no problems.
After upgrading to iOS 4.1, I did a factory reset and installed everthing from scratch.

My problem was I flipped the switch to mute sounds because I was getting emails in the middle of the night. The next day, I could hear podcasts, but no game sound. When I caught my mistake, all was fine.

Itunes Freezes and songs freeze mid-way through playing

Hello,
I've been having a lot of trouble recently with my itunes..
I've been downloading music off of itunes and Importing CDs, and have found that many songs stop at a certain point and freeze up itunes. Some songs even refuse to play at all.
For instance:
Track 18, "Nick and Norah's theme" from "Nick & Norah's infinite playlist original soundtrack" it will play up to 1:13 and then stop. The button says "pause" as if it was still playing. I can see that the artists and album is moving on the top of the screen, i am able to highlight other songs but then when i click on other songs iTunes, itself, freezes up.
I have restarted iTunes many times and the same problem occurs.
When I click on a later part in the song (past 1:13)
It plays for a little bit and then freezes up again.
I JUST downloaded this album and am finding that it is giving me trouble like it has been with other songs.
This happened once before and I took action by deleting my "iTuneslibrary.itl" and restoring it, as it says to in support. And this didn't help at all.
I also updated to the new iTunes and it didn't help at all.
I've tried about everything and now i am at wit's end.
Can anyone help me out? It is frustrating when one can't even listen to his new CD.
I tried upgrading to 8.0.1 the problem still occurs.
I went into change/remove programs and repaired it
but yet, the same problem STILL OCCURS

Other people have been having similar problems with songs over a number of days.
Depending upon what country that you are in (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) then try deleting those tracks from your iTunes library and redownload them via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes : re-downloading.
If you aren't in a country where you can re-download music or if they re-download in the same state then try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find those songs and use the 'Report a Problem' link.

ITunes 7 crashing...(more)

I've been using iTunes and the Acura TTS software together for some time with no problem. The Acura TTS software creates audio tags for the artits/songs/playlists/etc for listening in my car.
I've recently upgraded to iTunes 7.0.2, and now I get a memory conflict after Acura TTS has converted about 40-50 tags.
Here's what I've done from a troubleshooting perspective:
- Uninstalled Acura TTS 1.3 and went back to 1.0 - same result
- Uninstalled Acura TTS 1.0 and went back to 1.3 - same result
- Stopped all services and startup items in msconfig (as per the instructions on the Apple help page) - same result
I've ruled out the Acura TTS software as the problem. I've ruled out other services/startup items as the problem. There's only one thing left. It HAS to be iTunes 7.0.2.
I've not had this problem in any other version. Any ideas or help? I miss my iPod in my car!!
Any and all productive feedback is welcome!
