Listening to input without being in record

In logic can you monitor an external device thru your hardware on an input in logic without being in record and be able to turn it off and on. Thanks for the help

Yes, you can but it depends on what audio interface you have and how you have configured it. That may sound like a glib answer but without knowing what hardware you have (or intend to buy) it's not an easy answer.
For example, I can monitor audio inputs by using the driver software that operates my audio interface to patch the incoming signals to a dedicated monitor 'out' socket.

  • How to listen for inputs without a component? For creating bots

I mean, for example, I want to write a a program that listens for keys f12 to (for example) skip the track in a media player and f11 to skip back. Thinks like the like :P. But I want to do this without any component, becasue the program won't have the focus at all.
If it is needed to create a dll just tell as much as you pacience affords.

You can't do this in Java. And it will be OS specific.

  • Listen to music without interruption by mail

    Greetings,
I want to listen to music without being interrupted by incoming mail. I know I could put the phone in the Airplane mode but wonder if there is a way to keep receiving e-mail and notices but not have them, interrupted?
    Steve

    I'm sorry, that's too simple!
I never thought to try the mute switch - just assumed it would mute all audio output.
Thanks for tghe quick response, this has been bugging me for weeks and Google searches didn't help.

  • Listen to what is being recorded live, in iMovie

    Hi
Can anyone advise whether it is possible to listen to what is being recorded whilst filming on iMovie as you would with a video camera?
    Thanks
    Dan

After the 900 annoucement at CES, I had sent e-mails to both Stephen Elop from Nokia, and Steve Ballmer at Microsoft.  I got responses, but can't be to sure if it was actually them that responded personally.  With Stephen, we shared two different emails on Verizon/CDMA Windows Phone devices:
    Stephen Email 1
Sorry, we can't share all future product plans with you, but it is our intent to serve the widest variety of customers in the US as we move forward.

    Hello there,
Just for clarity, we announced in October that we will be supporting CDMA in 2012, although we have not made specific announcements about with which operators and when, so there is no issue with CDMA support.  And for a variety of competitive reasons, neither ourselves nor operators want to announce some of what you would like to see announced until we are closer to actual dates.
    Thanks for the continued interest.
    Regards,
    Stephen
Ballmer Email - now, this wasn't an email questioning Verizon, it was me questioning if Microsoft and it's partners just plan on neglecting CDMA customers with WP7.  His response was short and sweet, which makes me think it was him personally.
We also love cdma and will push the partners

Do you have Logitech Gaming Software installed?  If so, uninstall it and see if it resolves the issue.

  • Input without screen echo

    Hi all,
May I ask how to do the input without screen echo in Java? I can't think of a way to eliminate this echo even after redirecting the standard output before reading.
    Thanks in advance

That means I should use the key listener for this
    purpose ?
I would like to do some password entering job like in
UNIX, not to show whatever the user typed in.
Therefore, should I use this kind of thing to handle
this problem? Not necessarily a key listener. There's the standard javax.swing.JPasswordField class for usage on a GUI form, for this very purpose.

  • I want to VIEW pdf files when I click on them (NOT save them) WITHOUT being asked everytime. I have already customized my firefox settings.

I have a hotmail email account and each time I click on a pdf attachment, Firefox asks me "What should Firefox do with this file?" I click "Open with - Adobe Reader (default)" then I check-mark "DO THIS AUTOMATICALLY FOR FILES LIKE THIS FROM NOW ON." When I check-mark that box a little line comes up beneath it that says "Settings can be changed using the Applications tab in Firefox's Options." So I also changed my application settings to "PDF - Use Adobe Acrobat in Firefox". Even though I have changed the application settings, and have check-marked the little box asking it to open with adobe reader automatically, Firefox still asks me each time I click on a PDF "What should Firefox do with this file". How do I make it stick that every time I click on a pdf attachment I want to VIEW it in Adobe WITHOUT being asked every time? Is there a way? Thank you!!!

Automatic actions are connected to a specific MIME type and if Hotmail doesn't send the file with a correctly recognized MIME type then the automatic action won't work.

I have given a laptop to my grandson without deauthorizing itunes. How can I deauthorize itunes on that computer without being in possision of it?

You cannot, nor do you need to until you reach the limit of 5.  Then you can deauthorize all and authorize only the machines you choose.

Disable Data Saver.Find the Data Saver (Settings -> Battery & Data Saver) and uncheck "Enable Data Saver". Then return to the Market and restart your downloads.
The above is to download from the APPS store. Not using WiFi.
I found this in a web article.

  • ? how do I create a 'Search' system without being linked to a server ?

    Hello,
I have a project which I am trying to make simple and would like your help.
I need to create a 'navigation system' which at the moment is a series of Flash .swf files uploaded to a Dreamweaver HTML page.
Now I need to get them working together like a 'tag' or a search system, but I don't want to get a server involved.
Is it possible to create something that operates like a website but without being linked to a server?
    I'm already greatful

you can populate your data into an html table or xml syntax and then use srpy to create a search without the need for a database.
Herre's an example. View and study source code to create your own.

  • HT201250 can a time capsule be used as just a backup for data without being connected to a home network?

This is the explanation for my my question about whether a time capsule can be used as a backup without being connected to a network.  I had to disconnect my time capsule when I upgraded my landline to a wireless home phone in order to go to a wireless security system that would work with my 2WIRE router. The time capsule blocked the usage of my camera on my security system, not allowing the camera to connect to the 2WIRE router. Once I disconnected the time capsule,  the camera was able to connect wirelessly to the 2WIRE.

As you can read, you can do what you want. You just have to set up the Time Capsule network in AirPort Utility without connecting it to the router and ignoring the messages, and connect to the Time Capsule network. You will have to switch between the Time Capsule and the other router's networks

  • Can I use the Airport Time Capsule Wirelessly without being connected to my router/mac by ethernet?

    Hey
I've recently bought a 3TB Airport Time Capsule, with the sole intention of being able to perform wireless backups.
Is it possible to perform these wireless backups without being connected by ethernet to my modem/existing router?  I don't want to use the time capsule as a replacement for my existing router (at this stage) - just for wireless backups of my Macs.
If this is not possible, or practicable, are there other alternatives that I should explore? (non-cloud)
    Thanks in advance
    Steven
    PS
    Boring background:
I'm in a rental property with a woefully inadequate number of plugs in practical places. In addition there is only one phone socket. The result being insufficient safe space to have the existing router, and the Airport TC along with the existing electrical items.

Unfortunately, Apple designed the Time Capsule to connect to a modem or modem/router using an Ethernet connection.
If you do this, you do have the option of turning off the wireless on the Time Capsule and using your existing wireless for backups. Backups will be automatic this way, in the background. The Time Capsule could be located anywhere an Ethernet cable will reach.....up to 300+ feet or about 100 meters.
The other option.....not recommended and not convenient at all.....is to set up the Time Capsule......without an Ethernet connection and then have the Time Capsule provide a wireless network that would not have Internet access.
So, when you wanted to back up, you would have to manually "switch" to the Time Capsule network for that process, then once the backup was done, manually "switch" back again to your normal wireless network for normal operations.  A real mess, not to mention the possibility of wireless interference between the networks that may create other issues.
