Listening to internet radio realplayer or WMP? mistake!! help!

hi sorry if this is a bit long-winded. i have recently upgraded everything on my powerbook g4 (hard drive ram, the works) it is running great. i like to listen to abc national radio (here in sydney) on my laptop. when i went to listen it asked me to choose which player i wanted to use. realplayer or windows media player. i accidentally pressed WMP and then ticked the box "use this every time" - now it turns out it won't play the radio with WMP. it works with realplayer. this is where it gets tricky. i can listen to the radio station "live" on realplayer but when i go to the show i love and use "listen again" it remembers my "use WMP everytime" command and won't play it!!! it's really frustrating coz i know if i'd hit "realplayer evreytime" everything would be good. can i reverse this somehow? if not i can open safari and use that, but it's just annoying me that i can't do it in firefox which i use all thetime. please help! thanks
filo

Change the '''''Action''''' for the file type you set to use WMP. <br />

I don't know if this is what you really want, but I created a Playlist for Radio, and add some of the stations I like from websites. (If you click on the web-links they load into iTunes in the Sidebar). And you can also add individual Radio stations from the top right,(under Apple) to a Playlist. That's the only way I know to have them in the Sidebar.
Z_ZS-B, You also helped me to find the old Radio list! I didn't even know it was up on the right, under Apple. I haven't liked this version of iTunes so I hadn't even bothered to try and figure it out until now, but because I just bought a my first iPod Shuffle I'm determined to bend this version to my will. ;-)

  • Updated player and now cannot listen to internet radio stations - why ?

Updated to 14.0.0.145 the other day and now cannot listen to internet radio stations that worked fine before updating ( WABC , WMAL , KSFO ) . Programs won't download . WMAL's podcast does work , though . No trouble with Youtube , etc...
    I have Windows 7 and IE 10 .
    Can anybody help ?
    Thanks in advance .

Each updated version of Flash Player includes important security updates.  You really want to be running the latest version of Flash Player.
I'm also able to play these streams with no problem.  Have you rebooted since you upgraded?  It's always a good first step for mysterious problems.
If that doesn't work, I'd Uninstall Flash Player | Windows and then do a fresh install from http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer before considering downgrading.  That's an unwise course of action.

I received my week 16 MBP yesterday morning. It has been perfect thus far. Quite the improvment over my old iBook. I do hear some noises rarely but not enough to make me think there is a problem, I believe they are just the standard purrs and ticks of a high-powered computer. It doesn't run hot. I'd say cool to rather warm if used heavily. I hope I have a problem free experiance. I would hate for this product to tarnish Apple's reputation, that would be unacceptable considering this product is amazing. I will say this; I called Applecare, more out of curiousity than anything else and told them that I had just purchased an MBP and, while mine was fine, I had heard allot of disturbing reports about noise and heat. I asked point blank if Apple was aware of any issues and if they where working to resolve it. The answer I got was surprisingly forward. I was informed that they were "VERY" aware and working to correct the issues. He then told me I was lucky to recieve one of the quiet MBPs. I hope they work it out soon.

  • Has anyone noticed you can now listen to internet radio stations with TV?

I just noticed this last night. Months ago many of us were complaining of the inability to listen to internet radio stations on TV.
I had created a folder in iTunes for Internet radio stations. Last night I noticed those stations are all showing up on my TV screen and I can listen to them. Maybe this was added during Apple's last update?
    I like it!

no it's been around since 2.0.1 or something
    but it seems unstable
havent tested if it's still the case but people
reported in this forum that a boot of the atv
mean one have to delete the playlist
and make a new one to get the radio to work
and not long ago a guy reported that after a few hours
listning to radio the atv crash

iTunes can play any MP3 based streams. You can find a wide selection of streams at shoutcast.com and live365.com.

  • Listen to internet radio stream on IPhone

I am broadcasting an internet radio station using NiceCast. I have links for both a Real Player and a Quicktime client for listening. How can I make my stream available to the IPhone?
The link www.jazzknob.org opens with a default link to Real Player. A click will switch to Quicktime. Can I make a third link that the IPhone will listen to? I'm quite surprised that the IPhone doesn't support Quicktime.

My e63 can play it via realplayer using
    http://www.rthk.org.hk/live3.ram
you can save as link also..
only down side is that it can't play on background.

  • Listening to Internet Radio while Browsing the web

Is it possible to listen to Pandora Radio (Internet radio) and browse the web at the same time with my MacBook Pro? I used to be able to do this with my Dell Laptop computer. If so, how do you do this? Thanks.

Open another tab in your browser. Works here using Firefox.
If it doesn't work in Safari, you know what to download.

  • Problem opening internet radio stations using WMP player as default.

I've experinced a problem whit Safari saying that i don't have WMP installed when im certain it is installed.
I'm sure that it isn't a extention conflict or such.
This following station is the one i've attempted to access when the problem above happend.-
    http://www.thevoice.dk/mediaplayer.jsp

If you are using an Intel-based Mac the WMP plug-in will not work unless you force Safari to run in Rosetta emulation. Or you can remove WMP and install Flip4Mac.
To force Safari into Rosetta emulation select the Safari icon then press COMMAND-I to open the Get Info window. In the upper section you should see a check box labeled Run in Rosetta. Check the box. This should enable WMP to work with Safari, but you will notice Safari will run slower in emulation than in native mode.

  • Music drop outs / stutter when listening to MP3s or Internet Radio with Verizon Media Manager

Does anybody know when I play MP3s or listen to Internet Radio I'm getting slight drop out or stutter?
I just downloaded and installed the Verizon Media Manager on a machine running Windows 7.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Found this answer on DSLReports...
"This problem has reported before. It's a problem with the audio driver for 7XXX boxes that was introduced with IMG 1.9a. It also impacts iHeart radio and Pandora streaming. It is supposed to be fixed in 1.9.1, which is due sometime in the next decade."

  • How do I access internet radio stations in iTunes 11

In the previous version of itunes, you could listen to internet radio.  In the new version this seems to have been eliminated on the ipad.  Is that correct, or maybe I just can't find it.

There was never Internet radio on the iPad. Now there is iTunes Radio but it is only available in the. U.S. at this time.

  • Where did the current song listing go for iTunes Internet Radio?

I listen to internet radio on iTunes all the time, and I always loved being able to check the title and artist of whatever song was playing.  I just upgraded my iTunes to 11.1.3(8) and now the internet radio no longer shows me the title & artist of the current song.  Is there a way get that feature back?

Thank you Frederick! Now, a further question: for example under classic rock it shows 383 threads but in the list there are only 11 showing up. The stations I like to listen to are missing. Any light to shed? Thanks, Mark
