Listening to live streaming talk radio over your iphone.

Well I live in South Florida and there is a talk radio station that actually has their live broadcast streaming on their website. Well since the iphone is of course capable of using the internet, I was wondering if there is anyway possible to get like windows media player or some kind of plug-in or something for safari that will allow the iphone to do this.

Adobe, the makers of Flash, i've heard, is trying to make an application for the iPhone...since this is only something i heard(and not from Adobe themselves) i cant say if its true or not...
if it is true, then it should be available this june or soon after, thought the AppStore
cross your fingers
I do recall Adobe saying that they have the SDK. That doesn't meant that they can or will develop flash for the iPhone.

  • Use HTTP Dynamic Streaming (HDS) and HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) to serve live streams to clients over HTTP

    I have created a live stream of a video and it gets stored in live folder.
    Now i need to use HTTP Dynamic Streaming (HDS) and HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) to serve live streams to clients over HTTP, publish the streams to the HTTP Live Packager service on Flash Media Server.
    So what necessary steps do I  need to follow to do that ??

    You need to generate a manifest file using Configurator tool and placed it under the webroot directory.
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Flash Media Server 4.5\tools\f4mconfig\configurator

  • How to stream talk radio on iTunes 12.  Was able to do so on iTunes 11, but can't find the radio stations on iTunes 12.

    Just upgraded to iTunes 12 - and now cannot stream local radio stations on iTunes.  I've looked under the RADIO section but the upgrade deleted my stations.  When I try to ADD a radio station - the iTunes 12 Search doesn't find it...  I was able to find and stream this same radio station with iTunes 11.  The iTunes 12 upgrade wiped out my history and radio stations.  Has anyone figured out how to add back individual radio stations?

    Hey bbhillfarm,
    Thanks for the question. I understand that you are having trouble finding the Internet Radio section of the new iTunes 12. The following resource should point you in the correct direction:
    Listen to Internet radio - iTunes Help
    http://help.apple.com/itunes/mac/12/#/itns2946
    Tune in to Internet stations
    1. Click the Internet Radio button   near the top left of the iTunes window (if you don’t see it, click ).
    2. To see the available stations, click the triangle next to the type of music you want to listen to.
    3. To tune in, double-click a station.
    If you use a dial-up modem to connect to the Internet, choose a station with a bit rate of less than 48 kilobits per second (kbps) for best results. To see a station’s bit rate, select the station, then choose File > Get Info.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • Live streaming ( play && publish ) over rtmp/rtmfp with codecs ( h264 && PCMU ) on Android/iOS

    I have a question: On what operating systems(android,ios) can be played and published stream with codecs H264 and PCMU with rtmp and rtmfp protocols(live streaming)?
         As far as I found out with the codecs can be played on Android(rtmp protocol). On IOS video is not displayed, as I understood AIR environment cuting it.
    Another question regarding video texture. Will be included in future releases support for live playing h264+PCMU on IOS?

    On iOS, you'll need to be playing a HLS stream for h264 to decode when streaming from a remote server.

  • I cant stream online radio on my iphone 4

    I just got my iphone 4 and i tryed to play a online radio through sefari but it says "the operation nat be completed" but my old iphone 3 played it just fine

    Hi, I recently had this same problem.
    I had an iphone 3gs that i jailbroke from AT&T to use on straight talk.  then I bought an iphone 4, backed up my 3GS to itunes on my computer. When I activated my new ip4, i reloaded all my backed up files to the new phone and discovered that I could do everything except send pics via texts. I could send them via imessage, I could send them via email, i could upload to anything I wanted to, i just couldnt send a pic via text. worked with the carrier, worked with Apple. Then I backed up the phone again, reset it to factory settings, then started up from Hello again and BEFORE i reloaded all my stuff from itunes, i tried to send a pic via text and it WORKED. Then i restored all my stuff from itunes and then it didn't work AGAIN.  I got online with Justin in Support with Apple and he had me do the regular reset; Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. this will take your phone back to factory settings but WILL NOT discard all your contacts or other media, but you will have to reset your ringtones, text tones, etc, and any other settings you may have changed such as text size....I need it big.....anyway, i hope that i helped someone with this. I'm glad it was just this simple for me, because all my other settings were fine, mms was on, etc. but if you do a backup from one iphone to itunes and then download it to your new phone, it could be something in one of those files, or a corrupted file or just a simple setting from one carrier to the next that's stopping you.  Hope this helps!!

  • Can I assume that 2.0 FINALLY provides listening to live radio streams?????

    Still hoping that 2.0 and/or the Apps Store will give us the ability to stream live audio on our iPhone.
    Have been waiting for one year a feature that I assumed in 07 would be an automatic on the iPhone.
    Why would the "perfect" device (yes I do like it) that has iPod, iTunes, Internet, Safari, Videos, Audio and much more NOT have the ability to listen to live streams of radio and in particular sports streams is really baffling.
    I am praying that this feature is available in the 2.0 upgrade and/or at the Apps Store ...pls tell me it is available.

    If the stream you want to listen to is using Windows Media it will probably never be available on the iPhone.
    If it is using Flash then you need to go to the Adobe website and ask them to write a Flash client for the iPhone.

  • HDS live streaming to Flash not working

    Live streaming a single or multi-bitrate video over HTTP to Flash does not work. I have followed the instructions on the 2 sources listed above repeatedly, but I can’t get live streaming over HTTP to Flash to work. Live streaming to iOS over HTTP works with no problems (single and multi-bitrate streams).
    I have tried the troubleshooting steps from the following:
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/flashmediaserver/devguide/WS0432746db30523c21e63e3d12efac195bd -8000.html
    Troubleshoot live streaming (HTTP)
    1.      Services window (Windows): Flash Media Server (FMS), Flash Media Administration Server, and FMSHttpd services are running. ✓
    2.      Verified that the request URL is correct. ✓
    3.      Configured ports:
    a.      Configure Apache to use port 80. Open rootinstall/Apache2.2/conf/httpd.conf in a text editor. Change the line Listen 8134 to Listen 80.
    b.     Configure Flash Media Server not to use port 80. Open rootinstall/conf/fms.ini in a text editor. Remove 80 from the ADAPTOR.HOSTPORT parameter so the parameter looks like the following: ADAPTOR.HOSTPORT = :1935 ✓
    4.      Placed a crossdomain.xml file to the rootinstall/webroot directory. ✓
    5.      In Flash Media Live Encoder, select the Encoding Options tab, choose Output from the Panel options menu, and verify the following:
    a) The value of FMS URL is rtmp://fms-dns-or-ip/livepkgr. If you’re testing on the same server as Flash Media Server, you can use the value localhost for fms-dns-or-ip. ✓
    b) For a single stream, the value of Stream is livestream?adbe-live-event=liveevent. ✓
    c) For adaptive bitrate streaming, the value of Stream is livestream%i?adbe-live-event=liveevent. ✓
    Flash Media Live Encoder uses this value to create unique stream names. To use another encoder, provide your own unique stream names, for example, livestream1?adbe-live-event=liveevent, livestream2?adbe-live-event=liveevent.
    The encoder is showing all 3 streams being published and streaming.
    6. Check Administration Console: the livepkgr application and the 3 streams are running. ✓
    7. Check the logs for errors. Flash Media Server logs are located in the rootinstall/logs folder. The master.xx.log file and the core.xx.log file show startup failures. Apache logs are located in the rootinstall/Apache2.2/logs folder. X
    a)   core00.log: these errors did not occur every time that I tried playing the live stream but these are the only relevant errors in the logs.
    1. 7968 (w)2611179     Warning from libf4f.dll: [Utils] [livestream2] Discarded all queued Media Messages received before first Video Keyframe Message

    2.     [warn] bootstrap path is in event file is empty for event:livepkgr/events/_definst_/liveevent stream name:livestream1
    As I mentioned, everything works on iOS and FMS seems to be creating all of the stream segments and meta files:
    a.     The 3 streams are being created in: HD:\Program Files\Adobe\Flash Media Server 4.5\applications\livepkgr\streams\_definst_
    b.    FMS is creating the following files in each stream folder (livestream1, livestream2, livestream 3):
    1. livestream1.bootstrap
    2. livestream1.control
    3. livestream1.meta
    4. .f4f segments
    5. .f4x segments
    The appropriate files are also being created in the HD:\Program Files\Adobe\Flash Media Server 4.5\applications\livepkgr\events\_definst_\liveevent folder, in which I have the following Manifest.xml and Event.xml files:
    <manifest xmlns="http://ns.adobe.com/f4m/1.0">
      <media streamId="livestream1" bitrate="200" />
      <media streamId="livestream2" bitrate="500" />
      <media streamId="livestream3" bitrate="1000" />
    </manifest>
    <Event>
      <EventID>liveevent</EventID>
      <Recording>
    <FragmentDuration>4000</FragmentDuration>
    <SegmentDuration>16000</SegmentDuration>
        <DiskManagementDuration>3</DiskManagementDuration>
      </Recording>
    </Event>
    I’ve tried clearing the contents of both streams\_definst_ and events\_definst_\liveevent (keeping the xml files) after restarting the encoder, and creating a different event definst for the streams (liveevent2 for example).
    We have an event in 2 weeks that we would like to stream to both Flash and iOS. Any help in solving this problem will be greatly appreciated.

    One step closer:
    Changed the crossdomain.xml file (more permissive settings).
    Changed the encoding on FMLE to vp6. Working somewhat (don't know what I did to make it start streaming through hds).
    But at least now I can get the individual streams in the set manifest file to work:
    http://localhost/hds-live/livepkgr/_definst_/livevent/livestream1.f4m
    http://localhost/hds-live/livepkgr/_definst_/livevent/livestream2.f4m
    http://localhost/hds-live/livepkgr/_definst_/livevent/livestream3.f4m
    BUT when I try to play the streams through the set manifest file from http://localhost/liveevent.f4m I'm getting the following error:
    "The F4m document contains errors URL missing from Media tag." I'll search the forums to see if anyone else has come across this problem.
    I used the f4m config tool to make the file. These are the file's contents:
    <manifest xmlns="http://ns.adobe.com/f4m/2.0">
      <baseURL>http://localhost/hds-live/livepkgr/_definst_/liveevent/</baseURL>
      <media href="livestream1.f4m " bitrate="200"/>
      <media href="livestream2.f4m " bitrate="500"/>
      <media href="livestream3.f4m " bitrate="1000"/>
    </manifest>
    Thanks

  • E65 problem with listening to live radio

    I have a fine wifi connection and live tv access but have problem to connect to any live radio station while connected though wifi. can anyone kindly help me out?

    how do I listen to live broadcasts using my mac and why isn't this ability written into the OS.
    It's not "written into the OS" because a Mac does not have a radio receiver. If you are referring to streaming broadcasts that come over the Internet, that capability is dependent on the web browser, not the OS. And as mentioned above, iTunes also has the capability to stream Internet-based "radio."
    You can also go to any number of web sites that stream "radio" broadcasts. Just do a Google search on "internet radio". For example, here is a web site that aggregates such streams.

  • I was playing Angry Birds and had to hit the pause button to listen to something.  When I hit the pause/play button again to resume, I heard talking that sounded like a talk-radio program and I couldn't turn it off, even when I turned off my iPad.

    Does anyone know what would cause me to start hearing a talk program of some type after hitting the play button after it had been on pause.  Hitting the pause button shuts off the talking, but hitting the play button starts it up again.  The strange thing is that the talking continues even after I turn off my iPad. The talk program was about silly or trendy news items, not regular news.  It sounds like it could be a talk-radio program, but there were no call letters or information on where it was coming from or who was talking.  The person doing all the talking is a male and sounds like he could be in his 20's.  The only way I could turn it off was to hit the pause button and then turn off my iPad. I just got my iPad last week and had not had any problems with it until this happened.  At the time this happened I was playing a version of Angry Birds that kept being interrupted by t-mobile commercials from time to time, which I had never experienced before. either.

    Well, shut my mouth!  There was a similar question over to the right about a 6th generation nano repeating over and over again -- I read the answer to that one, followed the instructions, and holy crap, it's back to normal.
    Is there a name for this when you end up replying to your own aggravating question?  That's what I did.  Now I can go out and listen.  It's only 91 degrees.  Heaven. Thanks, Apple.

  • Listening to live radio broadcasts

    As I have been sitting at my IMac (purchased April 09) day in and day out over the past weeks, I thought it would be good to listen to radio live broadcasts. To my surprise - or not - I find that apart from BBC iPlayer programmes nothing else is useable. (I have tried a wide variety of on-line channels). I seem to have this big machine, supposedly all singing and all dancing, yet can't listen to the radio. I just get the download box come up and a window full of script.
    So answer is - how do I listen to live broadcasts using my mac and why isn't this ability written into the OS.
    Thanks

  • Problem listening to the radio over the internet--stops after 13 seconds

    Sometimes when I'm out of my home area or at night I like to listen to a local AM radio station over the net. My BB Curve 8330 finds the station ok, and I can listen for 13 seconds and then it stops. If I refresh it will play for another 13 seconds and stop again. Is this a setting that can be changed? Ideas?

    You failed to state what application you are using to listen to the AM radio station.
    Are you using the BlackBerry browser?
    Most applications perform some type of audio compression on streaming radio or music, just for the issue as you described. The incoming stream of data is so large that the device cannot properly buffer the files for continuous play.

  • Listening to streaming/online radio stations?

    Hi there!
    Is anyone here who manages to listen to MP3 streaming radio stations? shoutcast.com requires flash, so it does not work with my slide 3600.... The *.pls playlists from mobtuner.com  are not recognized by my phone, though the 3600 slide could play streaming MP3 it does not recoginze *.pls files. I can only shake my head when i look at this....
    So, who of you listens to such stations and what Nokia do you use?
    Best regards
    Malte

    i found the easiest is to use Internet Radio in the radio applications within Series60 phones. again, Nokia seem to be putting the top-notch features in Series60 phones rather than Series40, in order to differentiate the phone ranges. It seems that you are indeed searching for many features not available in Series40 but are standard on Series60. Actually, it might not be a bad idea for you to buy a N-series or other Series60 device, maybe one that has been on the market for a while and isn't that expensive, in order for you to satisfy your mulitmedia cravings. I have a N78 and i think now its price point is getting quite cheap, so maybe you can pick up something similar for a bargain
