Listening to my favorite podcast just got harder

I love to listen to "Coast to Coast AM." If you don't know it's a late night AM radio show that focuses on the weird, conspiratorial, supernatural, and offbeat.
I'm a paid subscriber. There is a C2C app for the iPhone that is horribly designed but works. There are also other ways to listen to C2C on my iPhone, like through Stitcher. But with apps like Stitcher you only have access to the last 7 days of C2C. Paid subscribers to C2C have to access the show through the C2C app, which is totally geared to streaming, whether by 3G or wireless, or through the website, or through iTunes.
My problem is that I want to have archived shows on my iPhone so that when I'm in the car, regardless of my cell signal, I can listen with no problems.
Now with iTunes 11 there is no relationship between podcasts on iTunes and the Podcasts app on my iPhone. There is no C2C program in the iTunes podcast store to subscribe to. I can still download and listen to C2C podcasts on my iMac because the feed is set up (http://rss.mac.premiereradio.net:8080/coast/podcast.xml). But I can't figure out how to sync those downloads with my iPhone, other than manually by plugging the iPhone into the iMac, which I normally don't do.
Furthermore, it used to be when I had missing shows I could choose to download them in iTunes. For example, on Halloween they do a show called "Ghost to Ghost," where the whole show is callers with their own ghost stories. The only way for me to get those shows is to:
Go to the C2C website
Go to show archives, log in and download the 4 mp3s
Drop into iTunes
But there's the rub--in iTunes they show up in the Music library. They don't show up as podcasts. So even if I go to the trouble of syncing podcasts between my iPhone and the iMac by plugging it in, they won't sync. So now I'm faced with the choice of syncing my music manually again, instead of using iCloud.
This whole operation worked best when I had an iPhone 3GS and the only way to sync was via USB. Then my podcasts were automatically updated with new ones, and I could make playlists to catch up on old ones. Now I don't know how to proceed.

iTunes can only read the feed as it sees it. If there are 5 episodes correctly entered it will show five (if the podcast hasn't yet registered with it, it won't show it at all).
It's not possible to enlarge on this unless you would like to post the URL they gave you for the iTunes store, and the URL of your feed (please include the http://).
