I've problem in the finder.
When i try to look inside a folder, there is a freeze. (During 5 - 10 seconds)
There is no a lot files in the folder (5 or more)
In monitor activity, there is a task (Kernel_task) using 40% on the processor…
I disconnect Google drive, dropbox,…
There is no file on my desktop,…
Any ideas ?

This is an issue man many people are having and Apple is doing nothing or it seems nothing to even acknowledge.
It is a major issue and I have a LOT of documentation. Unfortunately no one has a good soluiton.

When I connect up my Casio EX-S600 camera to my computer, Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.2 automatically launches the photo downloader. However, the screen shows the words "Loading Device List" but does nothing and freezes. I have to go into System Manager to kill it.
My wife has the same camera and it does the same with hers.
I have re-installed APASE V3.2 and this has not cured it. I have looked through the questions and answers on the forum and have seen folks having a similar problem but no definitive answer to it. I have seen it suggested that it is something to do with "Preferences" but when I try to go into this part of the software, it also freezes.
I have also gone into the Customer Support part of the web-site and followed the steps suggested there, again with no result.
I have upgraded the software on the camera to the latest version, again with no result.
I believe the problem arose at the same time as I upgraded to APASE V3.2

I use Norton System Works and Norton Internet Security. Firstly, I disabled every Norton component that I could. The APASE software still freezes. Secondly, just to be sure, I uninstalled Norton completely but still the APASE software freezes. I have now reinstalled Norton and all the required upgrades (which took a few days!) and still the APASE "loading device list" freezes.
"My Computer" shows the camera and I can transfer photos to "My Photos" from the camera and then use APASE to "get photos from file" but this is an unsatisfactory "get round" really.
Incidentally, I have just bought a Summit Photofix copier with Photoimpression 6.0 to copy negatives onto my hard drive. When I open the software and try to transfer an image, "Windows XP encounters a problem" and closes the software. I haven't solved this one yet but it may be related. I have also tried to re-load this software, including when Norton was uninstalled, but it hasn't helped the problem.

Every now and then my Nokia N8 contact list freezes when I try to select a contact fom the list, when starting a call or by accessing the contact list directly. A reboot, factory reset nor firmware reinstalling doesn't solve the problem, it only works temporarily. When the list freezes I am able to swipe through it up and down, though selecting contacts is not possible. I do see a cursor blinking in the lower half of the screen, at the position where the search window normally is. The search window itself is vanished.

I used to experience the same problem on the N8, though the freeze isn't only limited to accessing the contact list but happens randomly when swiping through home screens, opening a folder etc. I managed to resolve this problem though I have forgotten what exactly it is. If I'm not mistaken it is due to an installed (bad) application that is causing the freeze. In my case it's the Whatsapp application. The freezing problem seemed to have disappeared after I removed the application from the phone and reintall it back again. -

To clarify, I'm talking about the toolbar at the very top of the screen (After the Apple icon, it's File, Edit View, History, Bookmarks, Tools, Window and Help) If I move the mouse to the "Bookmarks" choice I get the same drop down menu as before, i.e., "Show all bookmarks", Bookmark this page, etc.
What's different is that if I hover the mouse on a bookmark folder that has more than one entry, that folder comes to the front and stays there. I have to move the mouse back to the top of the page to "unfreeze" so I can choose another bookmark. It never worked this way before, and I didn't make any other changes except updating to 9.0.1.

Firstly IF I have an un-bootable install, why would it suddenly become bootable if I used it externally rather than internally?
Anyways I tried to Create Image from my Macintosh HD and save it to external, and got this error:
"Unable to Create: input/output error"
This happened twice. I am about to use a different external HD, one which also has more space.

I did read through the links you supplied. In the first link there is a giant list of all the files the archive function backs up. It backs up a lot, but not quite everything. If it backed up everything, they could just say "everything".
The directory I'm concerned with is the /Applications one. It seems the only things backed up in this directory are specific Apple apps, for exapmple:
/Applications/Chess.app
/Applications/Clock.app
/Applications/DVD Player.app
/Applications/Extras/BlastApp.app
I have many many GB worth of other apps I'd love to be able to load back up, rather than spend hours re-installing them.
But I will try to use the Archive and Install feature though, once I have safely backed up my files. I found this on the Apple site also:
Archive and Install installations require the largest amount of available disk space because you need to have room to preserve your existing System and the new one you are installing
On my 250GB HD, my installation uses 200GB, and I only have about 40GB free. Will Archive and Install be able to work with this little space?

Nokia N8 - Contact List disappear ?

I have a Nokia N8 , recently i am facing one problem, my all the contact no. are disappear from the contact list , I don't know how was this happened? Before 10 days same problem i was face but after 2 -3 days all the contact list are appeared. so please tell me the solution for this. I can't wait for the 2-3 days. If any one have solutions please let me know.

Order Import: Freeze price with Price Adjustments
Hi Experts,
I 've the following requirement:
1) Import orders using the interface table with the price same as the source data (Freeze price - CALCULATE_PRICE_FLAG = 'N') for the lines.
2) Import price adjustments (discounts) at header level using the oe_price_adjs_iface_all interface table.
I 'am able to import the orders and the price adjustments. But, the price adjustment doesn't seem to take effect since the price is frozen for the lines. I could see the imported price adjustment through View Adjustments - The adjustment data is greyed out and I see a message saying - The Discount/ Adjustment can not be applied on the order since one of the the line prices is frozen. The adjustment level is set to Order.
Can you please suggest how to overcome this error and achieve this requirement.

Ganapathi-- we have been importing the sales order through API oe_order_pub.Process_Order
Users complained that they are not able to see the discount amount while creating the invoice.
We have checked the code and found that the following main parameters :-
Unit_seeling_price :-- unit_selling_price + (discount)
List_price :- and the list price is same as the unit_seeling_price
Calculate_price_flag = N
And due to aforesaid parameters values the values are same and it is not creating discount entry
When user create the invoice.
User Requirement :-- they says that there list_price and unit_selling_price gets changed dynamically
As per business requirement. E.g. Customer C1 order for item Item1 and ITEM2
Then we give 10% discount and the list price is coming from Quotation (so it may vary).
Workaround :-- STEP1 we crate the sales order manually through form and with the following concern value:-
Price list :-- Freeze
Unit_selling_price :-- changed to anything
And found that the difference of unit_selling_price and List_price is the discount amount
In the invoice.(Order Number 23910)
STEP2 We ran the create sales order through script using API and it created the sales order as usual.
Then we got the diagnostic report against Order Number 23906.
STEP3 We compare the diagnostic reports of Order Number 23910 and Order Number 23906.
And found that the adjustment entry is not there in the Order Number 23906.we believe that
Due to adjustment entry it failed to create the discount amount along with invoice amount.
STEP4 we tried to pass the adjustment entry in the API but failed using record type l_line_adj_tbl
In the script. In this script we need to pass different list price amount and unit_selling_price
After applying discount.

How do i stop firefox from freezing?
When i go into tools and click on download the list freezes while downloading a file and i also have problems with tabs freezing/hanging when i visit websites how can i fix this? i'm on windows 7 and have the latest version of firefox
It's strongly recommended to '''disable all plug-ins''' and test again. If there was no crash, start enable a plug-in and test Firefox again for crashes. do this until you find the problem.

LinFreeze: Prevent permanent file changes
I made a script that works similarly to DeepFreeze this week for Linux, but on a per-user (and per-directory) basis instead of the entire system. It prevents permanent file changes by discarding any changes made to files and folders on reboot using tmpfs. It's meant for areas like cafes, libraries and whatnot. It's currently only in English, which is the only language I speak, and most of the features I have planned aren't implemented yet, such as "freezing" more than one user at a time, "freezing" entire partitions, "freezing" specific folders, allowing certain folders and files to be exempt from "freezing", and a GUI of some sort. I'll try to put at least one of these in by the end of the month, and maybe the rest before the end of the year.
Current feature list:
'Freezing' (preventing changes to) users and directories, multiple at a time. (-f [user] and -d [directory])
'Unfreezing' users and directories; all at once or one at a time. (-u for all, -s [user/dir] for one at a time)
Removing the temporary directories it creates (-c).
Listing all frozen users and directories (-l)
Very little dependencies (as shown on the AUR package page)

Excel like 'Freeze column header' functionality in sharepoint OOB list view webpart
Hi,
I have OOB external list dropped on a page as listview webpart. It contains many records and hence while scrolling down headers are no available, hence it should freeze all column headers while scrolling down the page. Its directly dragged and dropped
on site page hence no server side formatting can be done.
Is there any way we can apply some client side script to freeze column headers to listview webpart while scrolling down? or any settings that can be done to acheive this?

Normal techniques for freezing the header row of an HTML table tend to fall short when it comes to SharePoint 2010 lists due to the lack of THEAD elements.
You can try something like this, although you may want to test it in various browsers in case the column heading alignment is off.

Edit: Also, you may want to inspect the HTML attributes on the external list view to be sure the class names match up with the querySelector parameters above. Specifically, the table should have a class of "ms-listviewtable", the header row should
have a class of "ms-viewheadertr", and rows of alternating background color should have a class of "ms-alternating".
If any of those are different in your case, you may be able to adjust the above code accordingly. -
Whenever I scroll in a drop down menu in Flash in Firefox (for example, I move the mouse wheel just one detent), it just continues scrolling on its own all the way to the bottom of the list and freezes all interaction for about 10 seconds. It's really bizarre.
If I start click and dragging things, nothing happens, and then all of the sudden everything catches up and moves. As an experienced programmer, I can say that it looks like some kind of queuing of keyboard/mouse events with delayed execution. Has anyone else encountered this issue?

Seems to be a Firefox-specific issue, although it also seems to be something that has just recently started occurring since updating Firefox.
UPDATE: I was checking my Firefox version in Help > About Firefox, and it showed version 33, but also had a pending update so I restarted Firefox. The problem was no longer occurring at that point. When I checked the version again, it said 33.0.2, but it also said "applying update", with another pending restart. I restarted Firefox again. It's now stable at version 33.1. So perhaps it was a problem with that particular version, or even a temporary issue with that running browser instance.Hi James,

In Firefox 4, how do I change the order of plugins on the Add-ons Plugins manager page? I turn Shockwave Flash on only when I want to watch a video and then turn it off to prevent screen freezing, and so I want it to PUT it and KEEP it at the top of the list.
Hit Ctrl+0 (That's a zero, by the way). I'm not sure if it will work, but hey, that's the first thing I would try.

Help please - Contacts freezes when I try to edit distribution lists
When I try to edit the addresses distribution list for a group, Contacts freezes with a spinning beachball. I've tried exporting the group as a CSV file, trashing the entire Address Book folder in Library > Application Support, launching Contacts and importing the CSV file, but this hasn't helped.
Editing distribution lists in Address Book / Contacts has been problematic since at least Lion. Seems like Contacts development was foisted off on a handful of green interns a long time ago.
Can anyone suggest an iCloud- & iPhone-compatible third-party contacts manager with some back-end muscle? Cobook is a nice front-end, but it doesn't solve my problem.Well, I found that it doesn't actually freeze - it just takes 20 minutes or so to respond. This with a database of about 3,700 contacts. It also takes 5 minutes or so to accept the renaming of a smart group.
Who in **** built this thing? And, why are they spending more time on simulating fake leather and taking away and then restoring 3-panel view than on making this a halfway decent database?
Sadly, the only contacts app I can find that seems to have a robust back end is made by - Microsoft. Sad. -
Conversation List (on left side) freezes
I am having the worst problem with Messages:
Basically, the list of conversations on the left freezes and just update at all, making the thing unusable.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. If you have trouble with the "+" cursor try deleting the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your User/Library/Preferences folder and then open iPhoto. That should set iPhoto to it's default settings and the left hand pane should be open.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.≤br>
Note: There now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard. -
Screen Freeze & Contact list loss
My Brand New 100% Legit Iphone 4s has been deleting my contact list and has been freezing the screen when trying to access the phone section of the device. I am being called by others and the calling side hears the phone ring but my iphone does not indicate anything. Could somebody be kind enogfh to free me from my problems with a solution please !!!
