Listing of installed programs?

I'm going to be buying a new MacBook pro 15in with all the upgrades.
But I can't seem to find a list of programs that comes installed on it.
I'm hoping since about 3,000 on this thing that it would come with Microsoft outlook, office, PowerPoint and hopefully photoshop

They come with Mountain Lion and a free download of the three iLife applications. Office 2011 for OS X is not sold by Apple. You can purchase it via Mactopia. It does not come with any Adobe software either.

Adobe CS6 not listed in installed programs?

As the title states when I go into Control Panel and "Uninstall a Program", my Web/Design Premium CS6 isn't listed. I wanted to uninstall it before installing CC. Is there any other way to safely uninstall CS6 besides the control panel? It's not causing any issues but it's taking up a nice chunk of space....

Run the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool, manually trash the folders and files.

I am cleaning up old programs and find there are 2 versions of FF installed. I just installed RC versio and it does not show in the list of installed programs so I am lost as to which one to delete, V4.0 or 4.0b8

You probably only have an orphaned entry left in Add and Remove programs and only have the last update of the Firefox 4 version installed. It happens more often that the updater doesn't remove the entry from the previous installation, but only adds a new entry for the new, updated, version leaving you with two entries. You can use a registry cleanup program or remove the registry key yourself if you are comfortable with editing the registry.

Can't find installed programs

I installed some gtk engines but I can't it find in menu.I am using gnome.Is there some way to list all installed programs ,something like menu maker in OpenBox.

GTK engines are not executable programs of the sort you would find in the menu -- they are just libraries that are used by themes to display things. Each installed application that would show up in the menu has it's *.desktop file in /usr/share/applications. Not all executable programs come with *.desktop files, though you can always create one if you need it.

Why Currently installed programs list is showing Adobe Muse twice?

Can some one help me:
Even Adobe Muse has being working on my PC since a few months ago after an updated I noticed that this program is listed twice on the "Installed Programs List" of control panel in my Windows7 x64, Sony VAIO Notebook.
Is this normal? One of the installation shows as version 5.0.704 and the other as 5.0, however, in my start menu programs I only find one shortcut or link to start this application.
Today even another strange thing has happened. In Creative Cloud, Adobe Muse is listed as up to date, however, when I started Adobe Muse today, it inmediately told me that there was an update available. How come ? Anyway, I guess this is an issue to start in another discussion.

Roger6 it is likely that one of the updates applied to Muse made an additional entry which is visible in the Programs and Features Control Panel. If you wish to uninstall Muse you will want to start with the later version and then uninstall 5.0 if it is still available.
For your second question the Creative Cloud application refreshes the list of available updates every 12 hours. This is likely why the update was not visible until you started the Muse application.

ITunes is no longer listed in Default Programs in Vista

After accepting the latest update to iTunes (7.6.029) + QuickTime this afternoon, there are several registry keys associated with iTunes and QuickTime that no longer have the appropriate permissions set which I believe is the main reason why iTunes is no longer listed in Default Programs in Vista. It also constantly alerts me that it's not the default player for audio files and if I'd like to go to Default Programs control panel to fix it. If I say yes, I get a blank screen in the details because it's trying to point to the properties of the once-listed iTunes in the Default Programs screen. I know I can disable the notification, but it's just evident of larger issues with the software.
Anyone else experience this with a fix? I've seen many, many posts when Googling this problem about the Default Programs in Vista not listing iTunes, other problems associated with registry keys for iTunes and QuickTime that aren't editable, etc.
I actually discovered this after the update when one of my sidebar gadgets would no longer launch iTunes. I performed a system restore to this morning before the update and most everything worked again. However, I had to reinstall iTunes because it warned me that it couldn't launch because some of the necessary files were missing. After reinstalling it, the sidebar tool was able to launch it again but the tool isn't listed in Default Programs now with some of the registry keys locked. I can unlock them and adjust the permissions but there are 50+ entries and their child keys that all would need to be unlocked.
It would be nice to have this problem resolved. I'm concerned about future upgrades as I've seen other users mention this problem in 7.4 and 7.1.

I have the same exact problem and same exact symptoms. I tried uninstalling and re-installing and no luck. Did you ever find a solution?

I have just installed a new hard drive in my imac intel 20" (2006) and now the hard drive does not show up in the 'select destinations' folder of the install program.

I have just installed a new hard drive in my imac intel 20" (2006) and upgraded the memory and now the hard drive does not show up in the 'select destinations' folder of the install program. I can see the hard drive in the disk utilities window however it wont let me do anything.
It is a seagate 1TB SATA II drive however it is displaying it as a 7.3 TB.
If anyone has any suggestions I would be happy to hear them.
I have tried to erase and partition and get the same error message each time, 'Input/Output error'.
I have tried starting the thing with the install disk which is Mac OS X (Tiger?) which came with the computer. No good.

Thats correct. I can see it in the list however when I attempt to erase it or partition it it's like it's not being found or recognised and it throws up the input/output error message. I am pretty sure that the sensor it attached correctly and it is a SATA drive. I can see all the infor regarding the drive when disk utility is open and it all looks good but I cant access it or do anything with it. It's taunting me!
The install disk is in the drive and the install program runs right up to the point where you have to select the location for the install and there is just nothing in the box where you have to select the hard drive icon.
I have my suspiscions about the drive but any help would be appreciated.

Iam in a pickle at the moment.
My RDS 2012 R2 environment was working successfully previously, arrived from holiday and it is not longer working.
My setup:
**RDS01 ( Session Host and Connection Broker Roles )
**RDS02 ( Web Access, Gateway and Licencing Roles)
The Problem i am facing is, after successfully login to the RDWeb page, lunching the remoteapp i get the following:
1st Get Certificate mismatch ( name in the certificate RDS02.mycompany.local is not trusted )
2nd Hit YES and the following message "Windows cannot start the RemoteApp program. The following RemoteApp program is not in the list of authorized programs: WinWord"
It happens whether i do connect externally.
Internally the SSO does not work ( i did check my certificate and it is installed )
If i run the script Set-RDPublishedName and change it from remote.mycompany.com to RDS01.mycompany.local
1st Certificate name mismatch ( requrested pc RDS01, name in the certficate remote.mycompany.com )
2nd Hit Yes and the app works
It happens whether i do connect internally or externally.
Any help will be very appreciated.

Hi Elton,
It sounds like the DNS lookup is resolving to the wrong ip address. When the RD Gateway (RDS02) looks up remote.yourcompany.com to connect to your broker/RDSH it should resolve to the ip address of RDS01, but it appears it is resolving to RDS02 instead.
I recommend you use Set-RDPublishedName to change the name back to what is was before (remote.yourcompany.com) and verify that your DNS settings are correct. For example, if you log on to RDS02 and try to ping remote.yourcompany.com it should try to
ping the internal ip address of RDS01, since that is your connection broker.

ITunes Does Not Appear in the List of Default Programs?

My wife is trying to get iTunes to be her default media player, using the instructions found at this link: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3202.
However, when she goes to the list of default programs, following steps 1 and 2 at that link, iTunes does not appear in the list.
How can we correct this?

I was having this same problem. I understood how to change the default program but like yours my iTunes was not in the list so therefore I was unable to set it to default.
This worked for me: (I have Vista)
I checked for updates on my iTunes program and there was an overdue update. I installed and restarted iTunes. Then went to my Default Programs tab and followed the instructions just as described in the support material and after my installation of the newest update my iTunes was now listed in the lineup of available default programs.

TROUBLING INSTALLING PROGRAMS

Our PC is a TouchSmart 310 1025a model. It runs on Windows 7. There is something wrong with it installing programs. We had a problem where our printer stopped working a couple of months ago. My husband tried to re-install it and couldn't so assumed the printer was at fault. The printer is a HP Wireless type. We just bought a new Norton anti-virus as the old one was expiring and tried to install it. It will not install. When you put the disc in, it doesn't do anything. When I go into Computers and then right click, it will come up with the options. When I click "Launch Norton" it doesn't do anything. It is supposed to then come up with Install Norton 360 but it doesn't.
It is very frustrating as we now have no anti-virus protection and also no printer. Can you please help us????!!!!

Illustrator CS6 is not listed in the Programs panel.

Hi, my Illustrator CS6 is not listed in the Programs panel in the Extensions Manager. How do I restore it?
A bit of history:
I had been using ScriptBay with Illustrator CS6 before, without problems. After my someone came and resolve some of my computer's network permissions issues, I discovered that ScriptBay panel has stopped working normally.
However, the script still works fine in Indesign CS6
I tried deleting some preferences, but scriptBay refused to work in Illustrator. Then, I copied a colleague's Illustrator CS6 to test on my machine (without deleting my copy). And now, my extension manager does not list Illustrator ib the panels.
Can anyone help with these 2 issues? I wanted the ScriptBay to work so badly!!

Adobe reader 10 can not be put on the list of allowed programs in Windows 7 firewall

The newly installed Adobe 10.1.2 is not on the list of allowed programs to pass through the Windows7 firewall. Manual adding does not work. The Windows 7 instructions say: select a program you want to add or click 'browse'to find one that is not listed, and then click 'ok' The browse button transfers to windows explorer, I find an Adobe program under Program Files (86x) but I can not transfer the path into the window of allowed programs.

ich glaube ich kann deutsch schreiben. Fällt mir leichter. Ich will den neuen Adobe Reader 10.1.2 in die Liste der erlaubten Programme bei Windows7 Firewall eintragen, weil ich sonst bei URL's im Internet, die mit .pdf aufhören, nichts sehe. Windows explorer steht auch auf dieser Liste der erlaubten Programme und deswegen funktioniert er auch mit URLs die mit .pdf aufhören. Ich muss aber Mozilla Firefox zum Surfen im Internet verwenden, weil meine Lesezeichen alle von diesem Browser verwaltet werden.
