  • Why can't I view a preview page of an item I list on ebay in Firefox. I can view in internet explorer

Prior till about 24 hours ago, I was able to preview an item that I listed on ebay without any problems. Now I cannot preview the item in Firefox, but I can preview the item in internet explorer. What might be causing this?
    Thanks,

Are you trying to use the built-in Print Preview in Firefox, or is this a page specially generated by eBay?
Do you get an error message when trying to view the page, or nothing happens when you click the link/button, or ... what exactly happens?
    In case you haven't already...
When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
    (1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
Alternately, you also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"
If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.
    (2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site, try either:
    * right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
    * (menu bar) Tools > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
In the dialog that opens, you can remove the site's cookies individually.
Then try reloading the page. Does that help?
In case one of your extensions is involved, could you test the page in Firefox's Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to deactivate extensions and some advanced features of Firefox. More info: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]].
You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:
    * "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
    * Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
Not all add-ons are disabled: Flash and other plugins still run
After Firefox shuts down, a small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (''not'' Reset).
    Any difference?

  • Has anyone tried the Hong Kong Iphone bluetooth knock off listed on Ebay?

I was just wondering if anyone has tried the bluetooth knock off listed in Ebay?
It looks alot like the Apple one, I have now offically lost 2 of the Apple ones and really do not like paying $130.00 each time I loose one. I was wondering if the sound quality was close at all to Apple's.
    Thanks
    Whit

My brother recently bought it off ebay. He is very unhappy with it and feels like he wasted his money. He said that it been failing to connect to the internet and that the music ("ipod") part does not work well and is not even comparable to the iphone.

  • Listing on ebay with MacBook Pro

I've been trying to create a listing on ebay with my new MacBook Pro when I get to the 3rd step Pictures and Details, fill out all the information and click on the continue button to go on to the next step it takes me to the ebay homepage. I figured this might be a problem with ebay but it has been like this for the past 2 to 3 days. Is there any setting in Safari that I need to change to make it work or is there some plug in I need ? Thanks.

Hi - I complained about the same thing here a week ago. No one responded or cared. When I list on eBay the MBP won't let eBay in to transfer the jpgs back to eBay.
For listing on eBay, I have reverted back to my PB G4. I am convinced that even when using the same System Preferences settings, The MBP has some limitation in access from the outside.
We won't find out what's wrong until the topics switch back to technical things. Right now all any of these people seem worried about is heat and shipping and whining!

  • Can't list on eBay with MBP only PowerBook

I tried listing my xbox 360 on ebay but it wouldn't upload pics and would instead take me to the homepage, however i try the same thing with my powerbook and i get no resistance whatsoever. Why is this? both machines use safari 2.0.3.

Yep, i had the same problem!! Worked fine on my G5, but not on my MacBook Pro. I emailed ebay, but I got some generic response back. They told me to use Firefox, but I tried Safari, Firefox and Camino. No luck. EBAY ISN'T UNIVERSAL! Is that possible?

  • The listing editor on ebay will not work for me in Safari

I am a recent switcher and I tried to list on eBay today. I have Safari (of course) and I also have Firefox for mac. The eBay editor works in firefox but in safari, I can't change any fonts. I can just type in black in a small font. Is this a Safari or an eBay problem?

Definitely an E-bay issue. The coding on the page is not Safari-friendly. Firefox, as you discovered, in this instance is the better choice.

  • Will Ebay.ca remove the ability to list in US dollars sometime in the near future

After reading on the boards as well as some of the comments on the weekly board, how many sellers think this will become permanent as it is in all other countries? Only listing in Can dollars on the Canadian site. Could be an interesting discussion

"Finally, as eBay's only dual-currency listing platform, our French and English sites present architectural challenges that sometimes slows or event prevents the delivery of new functionality that has tested well on other sites. Removing USD support would simplify things for eBay as well as the companies in our ecosystem moving forward.
If we do ever decide to retire the option to list in USD on the Canadian site, we will communicate that decision, then look to do so gradually, over a period of time, to minimize disruption for sellers. Canadian sellers who prefer to sell in USD would still be able to list using eBay.com.  "________________________________________________________________________________________ Well, this was an interesting pronouncement, also interesting that Rodney stepped in to make it.  I read "architectural challenges" as "too much cost", for one thing.  Secondly, "delivery of new functionality that has tested well on other sites" sounds like a convenient excuse to me.  They've been making new functionality work on .ca for quite some time.  I agree with Pierre's view: "The way I read this comment by Rodney is that a final decision has not yet been made but will be made within the foreseeable future." ... and I suspect we had all better be prepared to be forced to list in $Cdn if we want to continue to list on eBay.ca. A few weeks ago when this topic was first mentioned by Raphael, I recall pointing out that eBay was probably trying to slowly get us accustomed to an unpalatable concept that would at some point be obligatory, by telling us that their "data" showed that all Canadian sellers would either benefit or see a neutral effect from listing in $Cdn.  It seems that time is around the corner now.   And I'm afraid I still think there is more behind this than the specious explanation given today would indicate.  No wonder they removed the reference to "15% more sales when listing in U.S.".  My goodness, who would want sellers to believe that if eBay needs (for reasons only they know) to have sellers list in $Cdn?  New propaganda required, quick!  Lastly, I find this part of Rodney's remarks rather disturbing: "Canadian sellers who prefer to sell in USD would still be able to list using eBay.com".   So, let me get this right: It appears eBay will likely force us to list only in $Cdn on .ca in the near future.  Yet many of us who mainly sell to the U.S. prefer to list in $US for obvious reasons of profitability.  At that point, the only option will be to list on eBay.com.    In other words, the only way Canadian sellers will really be able to make a profit (if you sell largely to the U.S.) will be to list on .com. Is it really just a coincidence that the recommended "workaround" for a longstanding and serious problem that we're told eBay will never fix (the ".com cart disconnect"), has been for Canadian sellers to list on .com exclusively?  This would be a absurd suggestion if it were not that eBay might have other motives in trying to direct more Canadian sellers onto .com, i.e. to ultimately phase out (or at least pare down) eBay.ca.   Consider this: perhaps this was the true reason eBay never resolved the cart disconnect -- they never intended to in the first place.  One might even cynically say that the disconnect was a deliberate step toward getting more Canadian sellers to list on .com.    Is eBay trying to "shepherd" Canadian sellers off eBay.ca?  I personally believe so, perhaps for fiscal reasons. Quite frankly if I'm still around here in 2 years I wouldn't be surprised to see the whole site phased out.

  • When uploading photos from iphoto for ebay they look horrible

I'm new to Mac. I have a new digital SLR Nikon D40 that takes the most magnificent pictures. When I look at them in the iphoto library and even email them from the library, they look awesome. Also, if I click on a photo in my library it tells me the photos is 2000 x 3008 and 1.4 MB.
I went to do some listing on ebay. I use sellersourcebook.com for templates. Then you upload your pictures to them, they do the photo hosting and assign an URL to each photo you upload. When I do this, my photos look blurry, small & grainy. I emailed their tech support and they told me I don't have enough pixels. I don't understand how this is true? Then someone suggested photobucket as a free photo hosting site. The same thing happened. Also when I uploaded photos to Costco from home to print I got a warning saying the photo isn't good enough quality and won't print right.
When I upload it opens up finder, I click on pictures, iphoto library, data, 2007. I went to the camera shop today where I bought my camera to see if they could help. They suggested that I may be uploading the thumbnail and not the original photo. I thought I was uploading the original photo.
    Can anyone help?

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
When I upload it opens up finder, I click on pictures, iphoto library, data, 2007.
Yes, the Data folder contains the thumbnails created by iPhoto for quick display of your library. The original resides in the Originals folder. If you have applied any edits (including rotation) then the edited version is in the Modified folder.
But it can be difficult to know whether the photo you need is in Originals or Modified. Plus, it is recommended that you NOT delve into the iPhoto Library folder from the Finder. Any changes you make there will cause damage to your database.
The sanctioned way to upload your photos is to select them in the iPhoto application. Then do File > Export > File Export to a folder on your Desktop. The export dialog gives you the option to rename or resize the copies, if you like. Upload the Desktop folder, then delete it when done, as your files remain in the iPhoto Library.
    Regards.

  • Why do eBay item listings no longer change colors after being viewed?

Need some help with a problem – in the past, when I opened a specific listing on eBay, it changed color from blue to red when I got back out of the listing. As of late, they do not change and remain blue. As I do 20-30 music title searches daily, the color change was a real time saver as I could tell immediately when I had begun yesterday’s search as it was now red. Without the color change, I have to pay much more attention and invariably end up searching beyond that point until I realize it. Do you have any idea how I can get back to the color change? Any help would be much appreciated.
    Many thanks!

I've seen more posts from people that also have this issue with visited links while using the Back button, so this behavior may be a regression and caused by using the cache more aggressively.
Does opening the link in a new tab work to show the visited state of links?

  • Cannot open anything in my evay watch list since update

When I go to my watch list in Ebay and click on an item it give me an error message to check item location. If I add something new to watch list I can open it until I have left this page and then it doesn't work again. This works in other browser.

    Awesome, thank you very much.

  • When I am searching certain items in eBay via firefox I will often get zero results and yet when I do the same search in IE I get tons of results

  • EBay Sellers Form not loading properly

I'm unable to change the color of my font or make any other changes that are offered to enhance my selling listing on Ebay. My listing is just small black typed letters. A friend helping me list an item over the phone kept telling me to click on the color options to change my font color. I couldn't because those options did not load on my page. Tried logging out and reloading page but for some reason the page is not loading correctly. Would appreciate any help (I'm not real tech savvy so please spell it out).
    Thank You

If the page loads well in another browser, then the problem is with Safari.
If the page does not load well in another browser, you have a computer or internet connection problem.

  • Ebay Bucks checkout error

Does anyone know why i cant use my ebay bucks and $5 ebay gift certificates when checking out with paypal?I keep getting this error message "This payment cannot be completed and your account has not been charged. Please contact your merchant for more information." But this is only happening when i use my ebay bucks. I should note that the ebay bucks with the $5 gift certificate covers the total of my order. Also i did buy something cheap with my actual funds just to see if it worked and it did. Seems this only happens with ebay bucks. Can someone help me

"Can you give us a concrete example of which countries pay more in seller's fees to support this program, and what those fees are?" Easy.  Take a look at American sellers listing on eBay.com and Canadian sellers listing on eBay.ca. On eBay.com all fees are in US dollars (worth about 25% more than Cdn$) On eBay.ca, some fees are paid in US$ (same as .com) but many are charged and paid in the lower Cdn$ resulting in less revenue to eBay.  For example, on eBay.com the monthly fee for a store is US$20, in Canada it is Cdn$ 20 (US$16).  If a listing fee is US$0.30 for a listing in US$, it is only Cdn$ 0.30 (US$0.24) for the same listing listed in Cdn$. If you start adding up the lower fees eBay receives from sellers on eBay.ca compared to eBay.com you end up with a substantial amount. Of course sellers do not pay directly for "eBay Bucks".  That has never been the point.  The reality is that eBay Bucks, like any reward program offered by any business, come from the revenue generated by the business (paid by their customers). Since eBay.ca receives a bit less than eBay.com for the same service, that extra money is not available for "rewards".  To have a "rewards" program on eBay.ca would require additional revenues - more fees from sellers.  As a seller, I am not interested.  Are you?

  • When on ebay, trying to load pictures, the standard tab comes up blank and I can't use it.

I am trying to post a listing on Ebay. I click the "add pictures" tab. A window comes up with various options. When I click the "standard" tab, it used to work fine. But now it comes up blank and I can't use it to upload pictures into my listing. I can still do this with Internet Explorer or Google Chrome, but not with Firefox. How do I fix this?

    Hi,
A general troubleshooting step you could try is to check the site in a [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Managing-profiles new profile]. If the new profile is okay, you can [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/reset-firefox-easily-fix-most-problems Reset Firefox] on the old (previous) profile via '''Help''' ('''Alt''' + '''H''') > '''Troubleshooting Information'''.
