Lists of acceptable Ram?

Hey Anyone,
I am upgrading my ram with 512 mb and I dont know if this one is acceptable. Is there anyway to find out if this model will work:
IBM (this is the way the white sticker reads from top to bottom:
There is a logo on the sticker. Its an uppercase M with a ring going diagonally across. (bottom left to top right of the letter)

Thanks for any help.

Hello and Welcome to Apple Discussions.
By the book that is the maximum that the home user can upgrade to themselves. The brave, and those who go to an AASP, can go to the computer's true maximum of 1GB.

  • How do I stop Mac App Store apps listing as "Accept" rather than the purchase price?

    Hi there,
I'm attempting to buy iPhoto '11 from the Mac App Store but it lists as "Accept" rather than the purchase price.
When I click on Accept a message pops up saying "These apps cannot be accepted by your Apple ID: These apps were already assigned to another Apple ID, and they will be available in that Apple ID's Purchases list. If you don't have access to that Apple ID and want to receive future updates, you will need to purchase the applications."
The pop-up gives the option to hit OK and there are no other buttons.
iPhoto '11 is not in my purchases list. I have never bought it before. I am using a second hand Mac and I suspect the previous owner may have downloaded iPhoto but it is no longer installed anywhere on the system and I am the sole user of it. There are no other accounts on this Mac and it looks like it was reformatted back to scratch before I bought it.
The problem is I cannot find any way to reset the "Accept" option so I can actually purchase the App.
Does anyone know how to fix this issue?

i also am having this EXACT same problem and alot of others seem to be too? i wonder what is going on here! if anyone from apple reads this, maybe it is something you can look into? My mac did not come with a start up disk and i accidently deleted the iphoto app... i have 2 apple I.Ds but i dont use the one originally registered. i am aware i will have to buy the app again in this case so please let me buy iPhoto please! and thanks!

  • Deliver to an email whose address is not listed as accepted domain

    Hi Exchange experts!
I have a question regarding transport servers behaviour for smtp addresses that are not listed in accepted domains.
I have a mailbox with a secondary smtp address :
[email protected] , and aaaa.com is not listed as accepted.
Assuming that mx record for aaaa.com is configured correctly with my server IP. I tried sending an email to that address and it is delivred. This made me confused about my little knowledge. I thought exchange would reject such connection.
Can any one help me to understand this behaviour? (antispam agents are disabled and forefront protection for exchange is installed on hub server.)
    Thanks in advance!

    Hello,
I mean your organization public domain name (external domain name).
Based on my known, I understand that if we use e-mail address policy to assign e-mail address to users, such as aaaa.com, the aaaa.com must be included in accepted domain.
If we customize an e-mail address for a user mailbox ([email protected]), we can add aaaa.com as accepted domain, or needn't add it.
Only if there is a DNS MX record on public DNS server, we can send message to the user with
    [email protected]
If I have any misunderstanding, please free let me know.

Where can I find a list of acceptable products that could have been used to apply to a Creative Suites Design Standard 4 Upsell?

Upsells are completely independent of any specific requirements, which is the whole point.

  • Direct PDFExport is not listed as accept conversion in IBR

    hi Experts,
I am using wcc11.1.1.7, I have an issue on Direct PDFExport as the following:
1.I configured outgoing provider from UCM server, enabled inboundrefinerysupport from UCM server, enabled PDFexportconverter from IRB server.
    2. After restart UCM and IBR, the "IBR Provider Status" under ucm console->administration->refinery admin shows good status, the status is loaded for ibr->admin console->admin->system audit info->InboundRefinery
Issue is why "Direct PDFExport" is not listed in as accept conversion in IBR(ibr admin console->conversion settings->conversion list)? when I checkin a word which is supposed to be converted to pdf format, There is a message in conversion job status showed "No valid provider found for conversion."  always.

  • Can the 2009 macbooks accept ram from 2011 imac?

We have just purchased a refurbished 2011 27" i5 iMac.  It comes with 4GB of ram standard.  As I don't want to waste that ram when we upgrade it, I was wondering if I could use it in my early 2009 macbook.  I've checked on crucial and the macbook will accept 4GB of ram.  There is a similar question on this forum, but the answer was ambiguous.  I have also trawled a really useful forum on macrumors, but it wasn't clear whether it could accept it or not.
    Help would be appreciated.
    Regards,

No the RAM is a different size.
The model 5,2 MacBook (Early 2009, 2.0GHz Model Only) uses 200 pin 667mhz PC2-5300 RAM
The model 5,2 MacBook (Mid 2009, 2.13GHz Model Only) uses 200 pin 800mhz PC2-6400 RAM
    The model iMac12.2 (Mid 2011) uses 204 pin 1333 MHz PC3-10600 DDR3 RAM

  • What is the acceptable RAM model for T400 2764 CTO (I mean ram BUS number)?

    Hi,
I have T400 with the model number 2764 CTO. It has 2*2 GB of ram installed and now I want to add a 4 GB module and remove a 2 GB one.
The problem is that I have the option to get a BUS 1066 mhz or BUS 1333 mhz RAM and I do not know which model will work with my laptop.
Please let me know if you happen to know whether the 1333 works on the laptop or not.
    Thanks,
    Sarah.

both 1066 mhz and 1333 mhz would work, but they all operate at 1066 mhz speed. That is the speed at which they operate at. I think you should just get the 1066 mhz version.

  • List of acceptable formats

Is there a comprehensive list of formats that Premiere Elements can import/export?  Thanks.

Thank you for the kind words. What I tried to do was to convey the idea that not all .VOB files are created equal. It's just like .AVI files. Different "stuff" can reside inside those files with common extensions. It's the "stuff" that matters, and not the file extension.
With pure MPEG-2 .VOB's (most common with the second, third, etc. .VOB in a VIDEO_TS folder), one can most often just change the file extension to MPEG and edit. It's usually that first .VOB that can contain all sorts of extra "stuff," ofen menuing instrucitons, navigational instructions and even title instructions. These can muck up just renaming the first .VOB to MPEG, and can also keep PrE and PrPro (from version CS4.1) from just Importing and working with the files.
As both Adobe NLE's are built around a DV-AVI Type II file workflow for SD material, doing a good, clean conversion, as ATR recommends, will work in all cases. The limitation is the utility used for this conversion, and how well it deals with that "stuff." MPEG Steamclip comes highly recommended for this purpose.
Many format charts stop very short, as they'll say things like "supports: AVI, MPEG, MP4, .MOV, .VOB, etc." What they fail to take into consideration (and it's a very important consideration), is that each of those can contain all sorts of CODEC's, and "stuff." They are but "wrappers," and are almost meaningless by themselves. This ARTICLE goes into a little background on the concept of "wrappers." Actually, once one gets past the first .VOB with the potential for "stuff," they are probably the easies files to deal with as they WILL be MPEG-2 files inside the .VOB wrapper. The rest in the list can be nearly anything, hence the confusion.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Distribution list blocking accepted user

I have a master distribution list that only has a select few users on it, however one of them is being blocked - They're getting the "'[email protected]' Your message can't be delivered because delivery to this address is restricted." error.
They are a member of a group which is clearly in the allowed users field.
    Any ideas?

  • My 890 GXM won't accept RAM at 1600

I had my board set to run my RAM at 1600 with the suggested (by the RAM) timings with 2 sticks of 2Gb in Ganged mode (Phenom II X4 won't do 1600 in unganged), but after I added 2 more sticks of 4Gb of the same exact RAM, it will not boot with the RAM set to 1600 anymore. I've set and reset the timings several times, I've tried messing with the voltages, nothing works. It WILL NOT BOOT with the RAM set to 1600 anymore.
    What gives?

Ganged mode = Dual channel = 1 stick per channel
4 sticks will not work in either mode as the CPU's internal memory controller can not handle 2 sticks per memory channel at 1600.
Put the speed at 1333 and it will work just fine.
Ganged or Unganged has nothing to do with memory channels but everything with the way they are used.

  • Same 4MEM/9/40000000 , but different aka (hopefully) the complete guide to this error code and changing RAM

    Hello world,
finally, after having been reading here for years I decided to break silence and join the most venerable Apple discussions community!
First of all, I'm no native speaker, so if I at one point don't express myself correctly, I'm sorry. If you don't understand please ask what exactly I meant since it's very important that we know exactly what each one of us is talking about, thank you.
    Important, too:
I know there are a lot of posts with this topic and I sifted through a lot of them but none of them captures exactly what my problem or rather my questions are and unfortunately in a lot of them there is no real feedback from the original poster how it all worked out or not. So, I intend this thread to be that one helpful thread which more or less concentrates the knowledge of the other threads, where people with similar problems can go to in future.
I ask one thing of you: Please DON'T answer with just one phrase à la "U got bad RAM, send it back" or "Contact Apple Customer Support Service whatever thingy" without explaining why this would be the only viable option (because I think it is not, at least at the moment).
All the questions I 'd like answered are green, for you to not lose track. I hope this becomes a good discussion so everyone of us can learn a lot!
    Following problem:
    Initial situation:
My Computer: MacBookPro 8.2, early 2011, 15", 2,2 GHz i7; Mavericks 10.9.5    (yet without this bash fix but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ )
           - Upgraded RAM from onboard 4 (2 x 2) GB to the "unofficially" possible 16 (2 x 8) GB
    Ordered RAM on Amazon.de with the right Specs: 204 pin DDR3 SO-DIMM (1333 MHz, PC3-10600S, CL9),
Manufacturer: CSX (http://www.csx-memory.com , while it's maybe not the most renown seller, it was described on another website as reliable )
HERE (hope the link doesn't  change):               http://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B0084SH6WA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8 &psc=1
           - Installed it, booted Mac without problem, what does System Profiler say? I have full 16 GB   1600 MHz   Memory installed
    - Obviously sent me the "wrong" RAM (or can System Profiler be wrong??), funny thing: It works,
--> after a LOT of research checked here http://guides.macrumors.com/Buying_RAM      my i7 is 2720QM, so supports it, lucky me
Btw, if i go to About this Mac > more information > memory,  the Text there even says it can hold 1600 MHz, has this been written there like this all along?!
    - Which RAM do I have installed exactly now? since the sticker on it showed the originally ordered Specs.., moreover how do I determine the CAS latency of my installed RAM?
    Crashes:
Didn't really have any, except..... well,
    - In some instances Firefox (I think 32.02. or sth., the latest Version at this moment) reproduceably keeps crashing, for example right now, can't even start it,  that's why I can't tell you the exact version, maybe I edit that later. Safari so far hasn't crashed.
    - Once I had a System Crash, but it happened when I wanted to reboot after updating the firmware of a hooked on external WD drive to be usable again as time machine backup volume under mavericks (without endangering my data).
The RAM seems to work fine; for example when I was doing a long overdue backup of 77GB on said drive, Activity Monitor showed a RAM Usage of  15,99 GB and nothing crashed. Only the fans were powering at some point but i thought that normal..
    - Actually produced two more Crashes when trying to run Apple Hardware Test (AHT), the one on the second disc that originally came with my Computer (probably made for OS 10.6.x    x= 6 or sth., don't remember which version my MBP was shipped with), which leads to
    Tests:
    Memtest86
    - I put Memtest86 v.5.01 on a USB Stick and bootet from that and let it test "the whole" RAM
(btw Do you know how you can put the bootable USB image of Memtest only to one (of a few) partition of my 32 GB USB Stick? The instructions (command line stuff) only let me put it on the whole Stick which makes it otherwise useless as a volume; ok here I'm not sure if I'm using the correct technical terms....)
    - I let Memtest86 do 3 and a half passes with one pass consisting of 10 different tests, so it took over 8 hours!
--> RESULT:   0   (in words: zero)  ERRORS,
--> That is why I think my RAM is ok, because I think (think NB, don't know) Memtest86 does good testing,or do you know      better?
    AHT
    - After that, out of curiosity, I tried to run AHT from the DVD with said results, then I ran AHT (also called Apple Diagnostics under Mavericks) from the Internet, this worked, but produced the famous 4MEM/9/40000000 Error Code,
first one for example was: 4MEM/9/40000000: 0x8477df98, the last part after the colon is variable, but stays the same in one instance, i.e. if you repeat the AHT directly. If you restart the Computer an rerun the test then it changes, e.g. some other it showed 0x84770a18
    - I did the short and the extended version, it took ca. 2-3  and 16 min respectively till producing the Error Code (only 1 at a time)
    - Did it 4 times or so; once in short/simple version it showed no error, the rest the 4MEM/9 s.
some example of a simple test, results taken out of the System Profiler Window (fehlgeschlagen= failed):
    Apple Diagnostics:
The usual self test on start up is always passed (bestanden), see for example:
What other than bad RAM can 4MEM/9/40000000 mean? I hope there are a few tech and computer savvy people around this place who know what they are talking about and can give me a good answer, or at least help to narrow it down. Actually I also think, the RAM sticks are not loose, but before I screw open my MBP again I would like to explore the other possibilities.
Is it probable that this Error Code has got sth. to do with me installing a) 16 GB of b) 1600 MHz RAM, or maybe with CAS Latency (i don't know the actual CL of this RAM)? and if so, is it only because some Apple Programmer/Developer/Technician wrote some values in a list on the System Level, so it doesn't accept RAM it would normally work with?? If it works fine and is faster, why change it?
    Final Words:
I repeat, apart from the Firefox crashes, my Mac seems to be working fine, at least I don't notice anything, (well, that disk utility and System Profiler (or whatever it's called nowadays) sometimes take time to start up is nothing special i think, is it?)
But now I'm scared that perhaps there could be a future danger for my computer I do not foresee...I hope you can at least exclude that.
So I'd rather spend my time starting a discussion here with people who don't have to abide by some corporate policy (right?) than having the hassle of repeatedly screwing my Mac open and shut  and doing expensive calls with all the companies involved who won't tell me anything more in depth than "we have to send it there, do more tests and you get it back then".
I hope that this thread won't rot in the wastelands of unanswered posts and that maybe all the people who take part in it learn sth. and all the people seeking help in future will find it here.
    Thanks for your patience!
Waiting for your greatly appreciated answers,

  • How to get the first element of a List?

    Hi,
    I have the following hierachy:
    A (top level)
    -A1 (child of A)
    -B1 (child of A)
    --B11 (child of B1)
    --B12 (child of B1)
I have an UDA on members B11 and B12 that have the same name as A1, and I use it to allocate values from A1 to B11 and B12. After that I want to aggregate the hierachy so I can have B1 and A with values.
I would like to use the ancestors function to do that but Ancestors need a member as parameter and the only relation between A1 and B11 and B12 is the UDA.
I can't do @ANCESTORS(@UDA(dimName, "A1")) because of that, so I would like to use a function to get at least 1 member that has the UDA I want and to use Ancestors on it, however I can't seem to find a function that returns the first member of a List.
Can someone help me on this?
    Thank you

Unfortunately it doesn't work. @List requires members names so I can't provide a member set as an argument :(^^^Are you sure? Take a look at the below example from the Tech Ref. That sure looks like @LANCESTORS and @LIST is accepting more than just member names.
    FIX(@LANCESTORS(@LIST(@ATTRIBUTE(Caffeinated_True),@ATTRIBUTE(Ounces_12),"200-40")))Also note this:
If the @LANCESTORS function is used alone (not within a FIX statement), you must use the @LIST function and specify member names. So you DO have to use @LIST if @LANCESTORS is to be used to do an aggregation. Or so it appears.

  • How do i get itunes to accept my debit card. When i fist made my account everything was fine but after a few purchases it was declined, i have money in my account so i do not know why it would have been declined. My bankacount says it should go through?

I set up everything with no problems the first time. I have money in my account and i made a few purchases though the app store, then all the sudden it says my card is declined... but i havemoney in my account, it makes me try to change my billing informaton. I contacted my bank and they said there is no reason that my card should be getting declined. I cannot download anything, or update the downloads that i already have... this is so fusturating, any ideas to fix this.

This was changed. Apple no longer accepts debit cards as an acceptable form of payment. This Apple support page lists all accepted forms of payment.
