Little grey icon on top of my presets, to the bottom left corner. What does it mean?
Yesterday, I went into my presets folder because I was searching for a particular brush, and I noticed a little grey overlay icon with a white line in a 45 degree angle. The little icons sit on top of the presets icons, and they are located to the bottom left hand corner. I tried to search what that means, with no luck. Just in case, I even checked everything with my antivirus, but it doesn't seem to be a virus. What is that? (I'm running Adobe CS6, in a Windows 7 Ultimate, 64 bit pc)
Thank you Noel! I downloaded the program. I'm not very sure how to proceed with it, since I'm not too "techy", but I'll try to find out if it is some kind of shell thing that makes my computer behave like that. I've run my antivirus again to see if it could be something virus-related, but no ... everything comes out clean. So, I'm glad it's not that, but I wish I knew what this is. I opened one of the folders that contained some presets, I actually went into some actions, in the Photoshop files, and I didn't see the icon overlays, just in case, I did a "refresh" screen thing, and the little grey overlay appeard not only on the presets, but now also on the image files (there was a .gif and a .jpeg file inside the action folder). So, well ... I might need to look into this a little further.
But thank you so much to trying to help me, I really appreciate it! The reason why I'm so worried about that little overlay, is because I noticed all this yesterday, and the night before I had problems lauching Photoshop (It was taking forever to lauch), after a few minutes when it finally launched, I got a blue screen error!!! I restarted the computer when it came back up, and then I ran a whole system scan (With Norton 360), everything was ok, but the following day (yesterday) I noticed these overlay icons, and now I fear to start Photoshop again! I think I'll have to open it, because if I don't do it I'll never know if everythin works fine or not, but I just fear that it will give me one of those blue screens again!
Well, we'll see what happens. Anyway, Noel, thank you so much for all your help! ... If you happen to find something else in the future (befor I do, that is ), please let me know. As soon as I can come out with a solution for this, I'll post it here

Help. The little picture of the firefox persona is gone from the new 4.0 version. I'm running Win XP (latest service pack). I miss being able to change Persona's at whim. Marie 5/9/11
To undo the design you most recently selected, click on the little fox in the bottom left corner of your browser, (not able to do this with 4.0).hi!
Turned on the ADD ON BAR and it's still gone. Only thing showing is an X in the left side of the add on bar. I have persona options set to show the little fox.
I was able to drag the little fox icon to the Add on bar and that seems to have worked.
4.0 should have saved the settings when I upgraded from 3....

I have a Personas account. The brown fox icon was present in the bottom left corner of my screen before the latest version of Firefox downloaded, but is not there anymore. I have to go to the Personas web site now whenever I want to manage my Persona. Previously, all I had to do was click on the brown fox, and do what I wanted to do from there.
Why has this changed, and how to I put it back to the way it was before?Try this:

It appears as soon as I've logged in, and sometime when finder starts up. I'm wondering if this is a common thing to happen, or some malicious software starting up.
It appears to be square looking, but is only there for a second, so It's hard to see.Could simply be the cursor appearing briefly before the graphical user interface shows up. Is it on a black backdrop, or on the grey Apple backdrop with the spinning cogwheel?

I can't open Itunes. It just says "new itunes library" and closes. What does this mean?

the button is still functional it's just a small white square with a black dot in it. I can't really say any more
I had that problem too. The square went away when I disabled the FoxTab (v 1.4.1) extension. It says on the website that its for Firefox 3, but other than the white square it worked fine on my FF4.

Apple icon turned black: What does this mean?
I can't seem to find a good keyword combo to get an answer out of the help section or google, so I thought I'd post here.

I am super frustrated with Safari in ios 7. I do not have the pages icon on the bottom right of Safari ios 7. When I press the plus sign at the top right I see 'private' on the bottom left side but there are no buttons on the bottom right at all. I am trying to get Safari to have the tab Rolodex look of the tabbed windows. So I can see the pages. Hope this is making sense. Why am I not seeing the pages button on the bottom right of Safari?

How do I download tv shows on iPod? Ios7. They are there. A little cloud icon in the bottom right corner. But unlike an iPad, there is no option (cloud with a downward facing arrow) to download.
If they have 'open' next to them then that implies that they are already on your iPad - if you tap on the 'open' button does that open the app ? If it does then they are on your iPad. You've checked all your homescreens and tried a soft-reset to see if they show after the iPad has restarted : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

A Sanyo Xacti VPC HD2000 icon: What does it mean?
I cannot find the answer to this question in my Sanyo Xacti VPC HD2000A camcorder manual.
On the left side of the Display, there is a white icon shaped like a U and filled up. Imagine the capital letter U filled with white milk. To the left of that icon I see two tiny little icons lined up vertically. The top icon looks like it could be a white arrow sign pointing downwards. The bottom icon looks like a white cross.
What does that mean? I do not recall seeing that icon previously. It might be the result of me experimenting with my Xacti. My manual does not explain it.

Thank you ever again. I just now downloaded the manual for my Sanyo VPC-HD2000A camcorder. It will be so much easier to look for information.
As for the other items: (1) getting a still out of a clip, and (2) stopping the action right at a certain point, Zyfert, the other day it was slightly breathtaking to see the different explanations and suggestions and then to realize that some of it was going about a foot over my brains.
I have downloaded Streamclip and also that other app, Square5.
I have to look at all the posts again and get them straight while looking at my iMovie '11 program.
One thing: the issue of the blast of pictures (stills) as being a possible solution is great, but in my case, the situation is at the point of editing in iMovie '11, not when I am shooting with my Sanyo VPC-HD2000A. (Someone had mentioned the virtue of the rapid fire succession of still shots.)
I have explored my Sanyo VPC-HD2000A quite a bit. I made some changes tonight -- small things like having the date and time show up in the display when I open it. I had some questions about those kinds of issues/options and will post them later.

I recently bought a new PC and when I transferred my photos a number of them became distorted- the top half was ok but the bottom half were color shifted. Also a number of them the top and bottom don't line up. How can I fix this?
Hi, I see I haven't had any responses but these problems haven't been fixed.
I still haven't been able to transfer purchases from my phone to my comp so consequently have stopped purchasing on my phone.
I bought a couple of albums recently via itunes on my comp, and tried to tranfer them to my phone via a playlist, but the sync often crashes. One album transferred except for one song, and the other hasn't at all. What happens is that when I autofill from a playlist it often hangs for ages on the first song and then I have to quit the application altogether as nothing happens for ages. Basically, the whole Itunes software freezes.
After this I find it hasn't transferred any songs, but they do appear greyed out on my phone, which means it has transferred some basic data such as the titles, but not the song itself. When I try to repeat the process to complete the transfer Itunes tells me that it can't transfer because the songs are already on the phone, but they are not!! I can't click or remove on the greyed out items, so now I have a couple of almost full albums on my computer that I can't tranfer or install on my phone, and a whole bunch of greyed out songs on my phone that I can't play or remove!
The rest of the problems as above still stand. I downloaded the latest itunes OS updates but nothing's changed. I haven't done the very latest iphone update yet though because it says you need to make sure your stuff is backed up, and I don't want to lose the purchases I made on the phone that I can't transfer to my comp. I'm planning on uninstalling itunes completely and reinstalling but I have little faith that this will fix the issue.
Can someone please help at all?? I'm so sick of this! -
Padlock Symbol at Lower Left of USB hard drive Icon - What does it mean ?
Presumably the small locked padlock that appears at the lower left corner of my USB external hard drive's mounted icon when I boot into Leopard means the volume is locked in some way ????
This volume is NOT my designated Time Machine volume.
I seem to be able, as my computer's administrator, to still write to and read from this drive and the permissions look OK for it so what does this newly appearing lock icon mean and how do I get rid of it ?
Also: on the Mac's internal drive this time, Why is the finder asking for my password very time I try to move or delete files and folders from my own home documents folder when logged in normally as myself ? Don't I "own" my own home folder ?????I too want to join in on this Band Wagon! I did nothing new to my Mac Pro running Leo 10.5.2 and all current updates applied. First thing I noticed was copying files from an external usb drive. The file would get to almost finished and have maybe a couple of bits left. Then a notice would appear saying the files were corrupted. (NOT) I had to Force Quit the Finder and Relaunch it in order to remove the warning notice off of the desktop. Then I noticed 1 of my 4 internal drives with the padlock on the lower left hand side. As I was investigating that drive another drive blinked and then it too had the padlock! Now the external usb drive also has a padlock. I looked at permissions with (Command I) and found that my permissions had been changed to "Custom" which could not be changed back to read & write. In fact all of the affected drives now have the same issue. So to try to fix them I added myself to the users side of the permissions box and gave myself read and write permissions in the hope I could delete the custom permissions account. No Luck! But I was able to delete the new read write account? Ran Disk utility from the DVD an the drives still show up as being locked. Anyway when I removed the DVD I let the machine reboot. Now for the fun! It gets up to the grey background & spinning gears, goes to black and restarts. It stays caught caught in this loop until I kill the power. Call Apple support & they told me what I already knew. Reformat & start over. I do not find that to be an answer I want to know what caused it & how to fix it! Since my company just invested in 50 of these units and I am the only technician for over 200 users.

if a buddy's screename is faded (in the offline section), but a video icon is still next to the screename, and if you right click on the name "video chat" is an option, what does this mean? it is the only one on my whole list that has this.

It could be some sort of "flagging" issue where either the AIM Servers have gone out of sync and you are getting two lots of info (There are about three or four servers involved with getting data to your Buddy list)
I can also see the possibility where you have a Contact in your Address Book who has two Screen Names.
You have one in one group and in another they appear to be Off Line. However iChat will still Link them and Show their Capabilities when you Right Click.
One way of checking this is to double click them to open a Text Chat Window.
At the top is the Recipients Bar (See View Menu when Text Chat is Open).
This gives you the option to chose a different Buddy Name if the contact has two (It offers To and From options if you both have Multiple Accounts).

They have an @Mac.com name and Jabber ID (As it is an Old Chat the Jabber one is Off Line and their @mac.com name is currently "Away"
You can see I have a Google and three AIM Logins I could use to Speak to them.
