Little leary about this PSU I just bought...
Well...Ive been having lockup/reboot problems from a certain game, so after exhausting every other option, I decided to jump into getting a new psu. I looked around and almost got an Enermax, but then I saw something intruiging on http://www.frozencpu.com - a modular power supply. I checked out the stats on it, and the voltages seemed really good on it (25A on 12v at least), so I decided to buy it. Well, it just arrived today, and I see that the power supply is a VIOMAX 500W PSU, heavily modded by the frozencpu.com staff (all cables braided, window over psu, etc). I had never heard of Viomax before, so I did some reasearch... I see the psu I bought sells for about $20 (on the high side) for a 500W psu Needless to say, Im really hesitant to put this thing in my computer now... I was curious if anyone here has actually had any experience with Viomax, or any suggestions/recommendations on if I should actually trust this thing in my computer.... thanks in advance!

Yeah, it does have the 4-pin and 6-pins on it. It *looks* ok, even though its *very* light. There really doesnt seem to be all that much to it... I guess I'll just have to try it out and see what happens *gets on his knees and prays* I'll check back here again tonight before I install it to see if you fine folks have had any experience with Viomax or other recommendations for me. If I download a video from my video camera to a new (current 1/12) iMac 21 inch, how can I burn it to a DVD using the computer itself. Is this possible? Do I need to buy additional software. Two salespeople at the Apple were a little confused about this. Thank you.
The DVD recorder I'm referring to is one I've use for years. It is not attached to my aging iMac in any way. I simply play the video from my camcorder (mini-dv tape based Canon HV20) into the DVD recorder and create a DVD that can be played in any DVD player. I can only do minimum editing so what goes in is what I get. This has been fine for creating dupes of the various things I shoot.
If I buy a new iMac (21 inch), I'd like to be able to download the video to the iMac through iMovie, work with it to whatever degree I wish, and burn it to a DVD that can also be played in any DVD player -- or to use as a master to dupe copies.
What I'm understanding from you and others is that this would be possible if Apple had included iDVD in the software that comes with the iMac, or if I purchase the iLife Family Pack, or buy the correct version of Toast. I'm hoping I can persuade Apple to sell me an iMac with iDVD installed.
Essentially I want to move from a basic process of creating DVD copies to the more sophisticated process of creating one from an iMac.

Thanks in advanceStilup is right. Skimping on a power supply will only bring you more headaches than it's worth. Buy a Good brand name supply 400+ watts, and you will never run into tons of problems that others have, trying to run a hi power system with a $29.95 power supply. Every time you up the cpu ,you need more power. Bigger video card? more power. Add a drive? more power. If you buy a marginal supply in the beginning, you may get it to run your system, until you add something. I have seen hundreds of posts that when they finally divuge what the specs of thier supplys, it is painfully clear what the problem is. All my systems run at least a 400+watt supply with at least 220 combined watt. The exception to this rule, is True power supplys, that supply each single rail seperately ,so the combined thing doesn't apply. BD51

To what are you trying to connect?
Iphone supports bluetooth for stereo headset/speakers, handsfree telephone devices/headsets, some keyboards, some peer-to-peer apps from the app store and tethering where provided by the carrier.
Other than this, it will not connect to any phone/computer/device. -
I'm a little confused about this apple remote thing
Background: I've currently got a mac mini, which i love, which came with this cool little remote deal which makes using iTunes super easy. Now I'm on the verge of getting a nice new Mac Book Pro and I'm wondering what to do in regards to this remote. What I want to know and have been unable to figure out is, does one remote automatically work for any mac in the vicinity? do you have to program a specific remote to work with a specific computer? I don't want to start playing a song on my MBP and have my mini start playing something else.

I have three remotes, and have two of them paired. One paired to an iMac running 10.4.11, one paired to a MBP running 10.5.2, and the unpaired remote runs my apple dock to control my iPod hooked to the stereo. -

I'm in Nova Scotia, Canada and when I try to use Siri it loads and loads and then says, "I'm really sorry about this, but I can't take any requests right now. Please try again in a little while."
I rebooted and it didn't fix the problem. I just got my iPhone 4s (unlocked right from Apple) several weeks ago.Siri has been a bit more erratic than usual in the last week or so. Apple has announced a major announcement for 9/12. Conclusions are left to the reader.

After contacting Apple, I received a reply from their engineers:
Copy QTMovieWin.dll from: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
to: C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
And that did the trick.

I just bought an IMac today and found on "about this IMac" that it is of late 2013.
1. Does anyone knows if 2013 refers to the release or production year?
2. I use an enclosed HD from my old IMac for the set up, upon completion, only my documents and calendar are transferred, emails, Imessages, stickies, notes, music and photos are not. From what I understand EVERYTHING can be transferred, am I right? If I am right, can I re do the set up process again ? And how?
ThanksOn Q2, simply connect the EHD to the new machine and you can drag and drop. If the EHD is a backup HD (Time Machine or a Clone) then you can use Migration Assistant to migrate the data over. Also open the Mac App Store and update the new iMac, 10.1.1 is out of date now. Update it to 10.10.3 and install any other recommended updates. You should check for updates at least once a month and install all recommended updates.

I just bought a 5g iPod touch and was wondering if there were any ihomes out or coming out soon that are compatible with this device. I know there are adapters and cables you can purchase to use with your existing ihome but read the poor reviews on them and was scared away. I use my ihome very regularly and need this accessory to work with my new iPod. If you have any information on this, please help!

I just bought a Ipad and know nothing about it. I have been charging it for about 2 hours and when I try to turn it on it shows the Itune icon and the plug thats it wont do anything else. Any suggestions on what to do?
iPads are devices and not PCs, so it needs a functioning relationship with a PC to work.
Download iTunes onto your PC, then connect your iPad to that PC. That should get you started.
