Little Problem with Policy Setting in EM 11g

Hi all !!
I wanna revoke some privileges such as UTL_HTTP, UTL_FILE for Database Security
But I don't know if I can revoke above privileges by disabling them in Policy Rule Setting in EM 11g instead of using SQL*plus ???
Regards

I've disabled some Pocily rules (Execute Privileges on UTL_FILE) in EM 11g . I just wonder if I need also to revoke it from PUBLIC by using SQL'Plus
SQL>REVOKE execute on utl_file FROM public .

    Usually the Color mode is the one you want for the color replacement tool, you

  • A little problem with color profiles

    I am trying LR and so far I love it, it has successfully replaced RSP for me, and also beat Bibble which I briefly considered but didn't like due to the weird UI.
    However, I have a little problem with colours, which has never happened so far with other converters, and I am hoping you can help me to solve it.
    My monitor is calibrated with the Spyder and the appropriate profile loaded in the video card.
    When I work on a RAW image in LR, and then export a sRGB JPG, and then open it with a browser, or the Win viewer, I see it redder. If I open the image in Faststone, I see it almost sepia.
    If I export a TIFF and open it in PS, I see it as in LR, but when I export a JPG from PS (this is my typical workflow), the resulting image has the same problem.
    Considering that my entire workflow is in sRGB, can anybody coach me as to the correct settings I must use in order to obtain a final sRGB image with the same colors as in LR? I think that I must be doing something wrong, as the program behaves consistently with PS.
    Thank you in advance for any help you will be able to provide.
    Andrea,
    from Italy

    Funny how it's only Windows users that have this 'problem'.
    This is not a 'problem' at all. The only 'problem' here is that you've been used to using non-color-managed applications. Suddenly, Lightroom comes in as a mature, color-managed, program... and you're all going bonkers.
    Mac users aren't going bonkers because we're used to using color-managed applications (Preview, Safari, etc. are all color-managed on a Mac).
    Let me clarify for you that by 'color-managed', I mean that the software is *not only* reading the embedded profile in your image, but is *also* converting, on-the-fly, the RGB values of that image to a new set of RGB values that compensates for the native response of your monitor. Say, for example, your monitor only displays a narrow gamut of reds. Chances are, then, that LR or PS will intelligently compensate for this by saturating reds before sending to your monitor. This is how color management works. You can now imagine the disastrous effects that a bad/inaccurate monitor profile might have...
    Your Windows applications, such as 'Viewer', use the Microsoft ICM 2.0 API. This *will* read the embedded profile in an image, but instead of converting to your monitor profile for output, will simply convert to sRGB. That's basically like half-a$$ color-management. Read more about it here:
    http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/windows2000serv/reskit/prork/prdn_img_vkev.ms px?mfr=true
    Firefox & IE don't even use the ICM 2.9 API, making them entirely non-color-managed. Whatever the raw RGB values are in your image, these applications spit out at your monitor.
    It's very important you understand these simple concepts before proceeding any further.
    OK, ready?
    The original monitor profile that came with my MacBook Pro (profiled by someone over at Apple generically for all MacBook Pro LCDs, I guess) really seems to have underestimated the gamut of my monitor. Hence, color-managed applications compensated for this be resaturating my images (especially in the oranges/reds) before outputting to monitor. Therefore, images looked really nice and saturated in color-managed applications; however, when I exported them to sRGB JPEGs and then uploaded to the web, they looked desaturated (in Firefox, NOT in Safari, since Safari is color managed). They even looked desaturated on other people's monitors (these 'other people' were your average Joes...).
    I then profiled my monitor using an i1 colorimeter. A 3-D plot of my monitor profile now showed that it actually had a much larger gamut than what Apple had predicted in their profile (but this gamut was still much smaller than sRGB, or the gamut of my Dell LCD or Sony CRT, etc.). Therefore, now, LR and PS, using this new profile, showed images much less saturated. Now when I made my edits, and then exported to sRGB JPEGs, images looked slightly *more* saturated in non-color-managed applications and on other people's computers.
    So, you see, your monitor profile affects how you make adjustments/edits in color-managed programs. If your hardware profiler profiled your monitor incorrectly (which I assume is the problem here), then you may be over-saturating certain colors within LR, skewing those RGB values so that a non-color-managed program, which will not re-correct these values as LR is doing, will display the image with too much, say, red.
    Bad monitor profiling also explains why you see this problem only on certain images/colors... if it were a LR problem, you'd most likely see it on every export. The color variance is more than likely due to a bad monitor profile that is not accurately describing your monitor's native response... hence LR/PS are incorrectly adjusting your images before sending to the monitor.
    And at this point, please don't resort to saying "but the colors in the web browser look 'right' and LR looks 'wrong'". This statement has no meaning, as what looks 'right' to you in your web browser might look horrible to someone else with a different monitor. The point of color-management is to minimize these differences. For example, I was very unhappy by how desaturated my images looked on the web compared to in PS before I calibrated my monitor. Now, images look slightly *more* saturated on the web than in LR/PS, which I'm OK with. *Should* they look the same? Heck no. Similar? Yes. Is it better if they do look the same after hardware profiling? Yes, if your main goal is web export, but, keep in mind, the only way they *would* look the same after PROPER hardware profiling would be if your monitor happened to have a very sRGB-like response (to explain this would take another few paragraphs... but you should be able to figure it out if you ponder a bit).
    I hope this is making sense. Let me ask you a couple questions now:
    1.) For your headshot image, IMG_8860, which colors look 'right' to you -- the colors in LR, or the colors upon export (i.e. the headshot on the left or the right in your link above)?
    2.) How exactly did your profile your monitor? Was it in the dark? I had quite a bit of variance in my monitor profile depending on whether or not the Mac OS X dock was visible at the bottom of the screen -- the light from the dock leaked into the colorimeter which then led to profiles that generated yellow/green color casts.

  • Problem with subform set

    Hi all ,
    I am facing a problem with subform set. When i use two subform sets with same set of conditions in a form, only the first subform set works while the second one does nothing. Did any of you faced the same problem ? If so Please let me know the solution you came up with. Thanks.
    SrPrabhu

    Hi scott,
    The problem is with subform set and not subform. In subform set, we can give conditions to make only one subform visible at a time that satisfies the condition. First create a subform set having more than one subform. Now apply the conditions to that subform set. Check if it works. I m sure it wil work. Now just make a duplicate copy of the same subform set. Place it in the same form so that now two subform sets are available. Now preview the form. U wil fine only one subform set working and the other one doesnt.
    We can use any number of subform set within a form. If different conditions are applied to each subform set , it works fine.
    i wonder now wat wud u do in case if we are in need of two subformset having the same condition in a form ?
    Thanks,
    Sr Prabhu

  • Little problem with Strings.

              I have an little problem with Strings, i make one comparision like this.
              String nombre="Javier";
              if( nombre.equalsIgnoreCase(output.getStringValue("CN_NOMBRESf",null)) )
              Wich output.getStringValue("CN_NOMBRESf",null) is "Javier" too, because I display
              this before and are equals.
              What I do wrong?.

    You are actually making your users key in things like
    "\026"? Not very user-friendly, I would say. But
    assuming that is the best way for you to get your
    input, or if it's just you doing the input, the way to
    change that 4-character string into the single
    character that Java represents by '\026', you would
    use a bit of code like this:char encoded =
    (char)Integer.parseInt(substring(inputString, 1),
    16);
    DrClap has the right idea, except '\026' is octal, not hex. So change the radix from 16 to 8. Unicode is usually represented like '\u002A'. So it looks like you want:String s = "\\077";
    System.out.println((char)Integer.parseInt(s.substring(1), 8));Now all you have to do is parse through the String and replace them, which I think shouldn't be too hard for you now :)

  • Little Problem with Photoshop CS3

    Hi, I have a little problem with Photoshop CS3, I'm not sure if this's because a Windows option that I messed up, but the thing is that I didn't touch any options, or some kind of preferences.
    I'm talking about the "little windows" (I don't know the correct name) that come from, in this case, the Filter and Analysis options, they're coming down from their right side, and usually, the come down from their left side. This is really annoying.
    Not big deal, but I can't really work properly. I hope you guys can help me, and this's my first post, I hope I didn't break any rule.

    Thanks Mylenium, that was the problem, I don't even have a tablet, but that fixed my problem =)
    Thanks again.

  • Installation Problem with APEX 3.1 on 11g

    Hey,
    I've a big problem with apex3.1 on 11g. Yesterday i wanted to install the new version, which i've downloaded from the oracle server. Furthermore i have followed the instructions by the documentation.
    i executed:
    1. apexins.sql FLOW_1 USERS TEMP /i/ Is that correct?
    2. apxconf.sql
    Do i have do remove the old version (3.0)?
    Thanks for your help
    Best Regards,
    Andi

    Hi Andrea,
    I tried to reproduce this and could not.
    I created a new 11.1.0.6 database on Oracle Enterprise Linux with character set WE8MSWIN1252. I even did this with an OS locale of Italian (and trust me, it was a struggle, as my Italian is about as weak as my German). The only thing that is different between my test and your configuration is the server OS.
    I then installed APEX 3.1, tried it in browser language 'it' and 'en-us', but I could not reproduce the issue.
    Can you think of anything atypical in your configuration, installation, or database parameter settings?

  • Problem with layer sets opening

    Hi,
    I have a problem open layer sets. In my script I get layers index and then iterate throught this layers.
    Here is the script:
    function getAllLayersByIndex(){
           function getNumberLayers(){
           var ref = new ActionReference();
           ref.putProperty( charIDToTypeID("Prpr") , charIDToTypeID("NmbL") )
           ref.putEnumerated( charIDToTypeID("Dcmn"), charIDToTypeID("Ordn"), charIDToTypeID("Trgt") );
           return executeActionGet(ref).getInteger(charIDToTypeID("NmbL"));
           function hasBackground() {
               var ref = new ActionReference();
               ref.putProperty( charIDToTypeID("Prpr"), charIDToTypeID( "Bckg" ));

          ....working with layers....
    I think, my problem is in function makeActiveByIndex, because it doesn't make active a folder and doesn't open it.
    You can see it on this picture. Active layer set is "Skupina 1" and it is in layer set "hlavicka". But "hlavicka" is not open. WHY??
    Can you help me fix this problem??

  • Problem with character set - Reports 11.1.1.4

    Hi!
    I have a problem with Oracle Reports 11g regarding character set configuration. The default character set WE8ISO8859P1 works, so PDF reports have a regular display except for Eastern European (EE) letters which are replaced by "¿" sign.
    So, when I set any other character set in reports.sh, which would be a normal step to get EE letters, I'm always getting Greek Alphabet in PDF reports. Why Greek Alphabet?
    The character sets I tried to use are: EE8ISO8859P2, UTF8 and AL32UTF8.
    I changed uifont.ali and included PDF Subset with all four Arial font variants and, of course, I placed all fonts in fonts folder which is pointed by REPORTS_FONT_DIRECTORY.
    In Reports Builder everything works fine, but when I have to deploy the report to the Reports Services, the problem occurs.
    Also, when I've tried to execute PDF report using In-Process Reports Server (rep_wls_reports_hostnameasinst1) instead of AS Instance Reports Server (RptSvr_hostnameasinst1, which is a regular server), I'm getting Greek Alphabet in PDF reports even if the default character set is WE8ISO8859P1 in reports.sh. What is wrong with it? Where is Greek Alphabet configured?
    The production environment is 64-bit Oracle Linux 5.6 with Weblogic 10.3.4 and Forms&Reports 11.1.1.4. Forms works fine with character set EE8ISO8859P2 defined in default.env file.
    Thanks in advance!
    Regards,
    Dejan

    Thank you, Denis!
    Doc 300416.1 was very useful but Note 356221.1 - A Practical Methodology on Porting Reports from Windows to Unix with Different Font is actually crucial for configuring Reports on Linux.
    Also, there is a bug in 11.1.1.3 and 11.1.1.4, which can be fixed using the patch ( Note 1138405.1 - PDF Reports With Font Subsetting Raises Error "Bad /Bbox" on 64-Bit Linux ).
    Kind regards!

  • Problem with Policy "Display information about previous logons during user logon"

    Hello,
    I've a problem with the Policy "Setting Display information about previous logons during user logon".
    It is applied correctly on computer, but I can't login anymore and message "Security policies on this computer are set to display information about the last interactive logon. Windows could not retrieve this information. Please contact your network administrator
    for assistance" is appearing.
    My home test domain has 2008 R2 functionality level since months, and I've raised my company infra level functionality to 2012 this morning. Both domain are making the same error.
    This is non-sense, so any idea how to troubleshoot it ? Thanks in advance ! ;-)
    PS : I was able to remove it in order to login again, no worries on this one...

    Did you follow the guidance in http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd446680%28v=ws.10%29.aspx?
    Especially the following paragraph - the setting has to be applied to DCs and Members...:
    You configure last interactive logon through a GPO. You must configure the following setting for the GPO with domain controllers in its scope of management if you want to report last interactive logon information to the directory service:
    Computer Configuration| Policies | Administrative Templates | Windows Components | Windows Logon Options | Display information about previous logons during user logon = Enabled
    If you want to display last interactive logon information to the user, you must configure this setting for both the GPO with domain controllers in its scope of management as well as any GPO with Windows Server 2008 and Windows Vista client
    computers in its scope of management.

    I'm struggling with the TechNet article you direct us to.  We see in the TechNet article that Last Login Notification works ONLY with Server 2008 R2 and Vista.  Do we interpret that correctly?
    We need it to work with Server 2003, Server 2008, Win7, Win8, Win8.1, Server 2012, et. al.
    What is the work around to enable *Last Login Notifications to Users* functionality for these OSs?
    Thanks in advance,

  • Problem with fingerprint setting

    Hey, i bought an iphone 5s yesterday. I set up the fingerprint yesterday and it worked fine. But after that i faced some problem with the system so i reset the wholephone and edit and deleted my original fingerprint. but after that, my phone cant reenter the fingerprint. it can't read any fingerprint and the name is changed to touch id. what should i do with it?

    Hello annteoeena,
    Congratulations on your iPhone 5s, and thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing when using Touch ID.  I recommend following the steps below for an issue like the one you described:
    Troubleshooting Touch ID
    Verify that you are using the latest version of iOS.
    Ensure that your fingers and the Home button are clean and dry.*
    Note: Cover the Home button completely. Don't tap too quickly, don't press down hard, and don't move your finger while Touch ID is scanning.
    Tap Settings > General > Passcode & Fingerprint > Fingerprints and verify:
    Passcode Unlock or iTunes & App Store is enabled.
    One or more fingerprints have been enrolled.
    If one finger isn't working, tap Edit in Settings > General > Passcode & Fingerprint > Fingerprints > Edit to delete and then reenroll the finger.
    If that finger still isn't working, try enrolling a different finger.
    If you are unable to enroll any of your fingers, take your iPhone 5s to an Apple Retail Store, Apple Authorized Service Provider, or contact AppleCare for further assistance.

  • Little problem with rename view

    Hej, I've been having a problem an small problem with this... so far i'm changing the position of the tree of and Active Directory account... the major problem is that if i move this account 3 times the accountId fot that resurce is still the original one.
    <set name='newViews.newAccountId'>
                    <ref>myIdentity</ref>
                  </set>
                  <set name='newViews.accounts[AD].newAccountId'>
                    <ref>myIdentity</ref>
                  </set>
                  <set name='newViews.resourceAccounts.selectAll'>
                    <s>false</s>
                  </set>
                  <set name='newViews.accounts[AD].identity'>
                    <ref>myIdentity</ref>
                  </set>
                  <set name='newViews.accounts[AD].newAccountId'>
                    <ref>myIdentity</ref>
                  </set>
                  <set name='newViews.resourceAccounts.currentResourceAccounts[AD].identity'>
                    <ref>myIdentity</ref>
                  </set>
                  <set name='newViews.resourceAccounts.currentResourceAccounts[AD].selected'>
                    <s>true</s>
                  </set>
                  <set name='newViews.resourceAccounts.currentResourceAccounts[Lighthouse].selected'>
                    <s>false</s>
                  </set>myIdentity is the new value for the account basically cn=..,ou=.. etc.. and all works fine but the first given accountId when the account is created always remains and is never changed during the rename action....

    Hi,
    I had the same problem. The move operation in AD functioned perfectly but the displayed account information kept showing the old DN. The problem was, I had the move activity inserted in the update user workflow BEFORE the Provision activity. I moved my custom rename activity to AFTER Provision (and right before notification) and now the new DN is showing on the account information screen. It appears that if you do the rename before provision, the old information will overwrite the new stuff. But if you do it after provision the new stuff will overwrite the old stuff.
    I hope this helps :-)

  • Problems with version sets

    I have PSE 6. When I open a JPG from the Organizer using Full Edit and then try to save, I do not get the option to save the image in a version set (even though I do have the Organizer option checked). However, I noticed that invoking Full Edit also prompts the Organizer to say there is a new file in the watched folders. This "new" file is the very same file in the very same location. If I accept to add the file to the Organizer I get two thumbnails in the Organizer, both pointing to the same file on disk. If I do this then the "Edit In Progress" banner appears on the "new" thumbnail and the editor does allow me to add the image to the version set. I am sure that I did not have to do this before, I would expect Full Edit to just open the image, mark it in the Organizer as being edited, not try to add it back to the catalog and allow me to save the edit in a version set. What might be causing this behaviour?
    I also have similar and I think related problems with RAW images too, but I am hoping that resolving the above will resolve the RAW issue too.

    I should have said that I did try that but it still prevented me from creating a new version in a version set when saving. It is as if the editor needs to start on a copy of the Organizer's entry to allow version sets, as if the original is somehow "locked". Could that be possible?
