Little Q about the backup

i have itouch 4g i want to install ios 6. i have backup do the backup will backup the system (to my correcly system)

The iPod backup that iTunes makes does not included synced media like apps and music. For what it contains see:
iTunes: About iOS backups
- If you restore via iTunes if the synced media is not in the iTunes library it will be lost
- If you update via wif (settings>General>Software Update) noting will be lost unless something goes wrongand you have to restore via iTunes.

for backup and recovery, please follow the standard procedure of general database backup and recovery. you need to backup both the georaster table and all related RDT tables.

  • Is there anybody out there that can answer the question about the backup on the external hard drive?

I need some help please. I have been using an external hard drive to keep my itunes on because the file was so big. I understand that Itunes backs up all of the text, photos, contacts, ect.. everytime you sync your phone. Is this where itunes is storing all this information and if so how do I find it?

    Hi,
I agree that the back up file is big and the file you saved was your iTunes Library (%USERPROFILE%\Music\iTunes) but, your iTunes saves your backup data in a different location.
if you are on Windows XP: %USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup
if you are on Windows Vista/7: %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup
so i suggest you also back up those folder(s) in your computer to your external hard drive.(I recommend that you backup the iTunes & MobileSync folder found in AppData as you may need if in the future.)
as for the iTunes Folder found in Music/My Music folder, that is your iTunes library and you should also backup that folder so that in the future, if anything happens to your computer, you will be able to still sync you iDevice on another computer with the same library.
Note: In the Backup Folder, there will be a folder with a very long name. If you have several iDevices backed up, you will find it useful to know that each iDevice has a Identifier (UDID) and that the long name of the folder is your iDevice Indentifier (UDID) and the "-" next to the UDID is the Date followed by the time.
    eg.2b6f0cc904d137be2e1730235f5664094b831186-20101016-222905
    Meaning UDID was 2b6f0cc904d137be2e1730235f5664094b831186
    the Date was 16/10/2010 (20101016)
and the Time was 22 Hours 29 Minutes 5 seconds (222905)
to Find your iDevice UDID, refer to this page: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4061
    Hope this helps.
    Cheers,

  • A little question about the pencil tool

I have just a tiny guestion about the pencil tool in illustrator.
When i want to draw like it is a real pencil and make a lot of lines with it, then everytime when i'm drawing lines are disappearing because i'm drawing it again.
Maybe thats because i'm drawing over the other lines...but is there a simple way to make new lines all the time, so i can draw a bunch of lines over each other and agross etc.
hope you understand my crappy english.
    with love,
    Linda

Double click the pencil tool icon and check the options. You won't want to "edit selected paths"

  • What other little things about the iPod I should know about?

    Just a quick question,
What are some of the features of the iPod Touch that are not 100% obvious?
    Example...
Yesterday I found out that you could pull up the music controls anywhere(even locked) by pressing the "home" button twice.
After finding the above by accident, I was thinking about if their was any other little hidden things to find.
    --Daniel L

    1. Watch quicktime supported videos (via safari) (3GP, MPEG-4 etc)
    2. Play podcasts/mp3 (via safari)
    3. When viewing photos tilt the screen and right when the screen is adjusting touch it and the photo will stay like that

  • A Little More about the Factory Restore....

I'm fairly certain that someone else has posted this note about performing a factory restore on the X if it's not acting right.
    http://forum.androidcentral.com/motorola-droid-x/36979-bingo-i-finally-figured-out-how-get-things-straight-my-droid-x-2-2-update.html
My phone updated without any problems other than the speed dial issue that has been well-documented. And I've looked at my text messages high and low and I swear, I CANNOT find any thing out of date or off-time. I have nothing to lose by claiming this, so if you think I'm lying, flame away.
Anyway, I'm getting off of the original point of this post. The link I'm providing points to a page that describes how to do the factory reset without the phone automatically restoring the original data and setting that might be causing some problems. I had no reason at all to think that my X wasn't working as fast as it was supposed to and I rocked along for a week, thinking it was fine. However, I ran across this post in my geekboy reading travels across the internet. I got curious and tried the reset, following the procedure as outlined in this post. And yes, it is indeed an improvement in performance. I'm anxious to see how it does over the next couple of days with regard to battery life, but for the last hour, I've been playing with it and it works even snappier and livelier than it did before I did the post-update reset today. And battery life had shown some improvement before this reset, so I dount I'll see much difference there.
As I said, I've seen this procedure posted already around here somewhere, probably more than once. Wildman, perhaps? At any rate, I do with they would make a sticky out this information as it might be helpful (notice the emphasis on "MIGHT") to someone having trouble. If you are an X owner with problems and you are also a rocket scientist or you've written software that cures cancer or feeds the hungry, then this might not be of interest to you and I'm sorry you wasted your time. People like me (that don't work for Verizon, by the way) throw these little nuggets out in hopes that they will be of some help. If not, well, we tried.
    Good luck,
    Geri O

Yes. You can initiate the factory restore operation and simply let it do the job without any Intervention on your part. Before you perform the restore, check under "settings/privacy" and make sure that "back up my data" and "restore automatically" are checked (i think they are checked by default, just make sure). This will insure that your apps and data are stored on Google's servers. Your contacts should be set to sync with your gmail account, so they are backed up regardless of how you restore the phone.
Having said all of this, the reason we restore the phone is sometimes due to some app or data that's causing a problem. That's why the long restore procedure that I outlined above comes in handy. The slate is literally wiped clean, instead of restoring, then everything is automatically restored, good data and bad.

  • A little info about the iSync plugin for the N97

Several 3rd party developers have confirmed that something is broken in the way the N97 communicates via the iSync plugin. Nokia has changed, incorrectly implemented, or out right made something wrong and a firmware upgrade is DRASTICALLY needed or a plugin will NEVER work. The problem started with Nokia and ends with Nokia. They need to fix the problem with the N97. The developers feel that unless Nokia fixes this problem there will never be a plugin for the N97. It is as simple as that.
This is all the info that I have at the moment. For the time being the only way to sync your data is:
    1. Prepare all of your data the way you want on your phone and then us Ovi. This can be a problem too as Ovi is not that great and is not very stable.
    2. You can use Memotoo (www.memotoo.com) to sync your data via SyncML. I have used tried it and it works okay. Better than Ovi for sure but it costs.
    3. You can use The Missing Sync by Mark Space (www.markspace.com - currently testing). It does not use the same way to sync via iSync plugins. The Missing Sync sends a plugin to your phone instead. The syncing is very stable and works flawlessly. The only drawback is that the phone plugin is not exactly designed for the N97 and it requires that the N97 needs to be reboot sometimes to sync. Other than this, the operation is flawless and it appears that Mark Space will be able to fix this one problem faster than Nokia will be able to fix their phone.
    Hope this helps......
Show the KUDOS button some love.... Hit that bad boy.... It don't hurt....
    Apple iPhone 5,
Retina MacBook Pro, iPad Mini, Nikon D4

Yes, once you have MfE, you can sync N97 to Google Calendar and Gmail Contact list. The Mac's iCal app can add the Google Calendar. For Address Book, there are two choices: Access Gmail Contact via LDAP, or do proper synchronization in iSync style (see http://lifehacker.com/393855/enable-google-contact-sync-without-an-iphoneipod-touch).
MfE is not "installed" by default in the N97, but it is actually there. I need to credit someone on this forum for mentioning it, but I'm afraid I forgot who. The steps are basically thus:
Basically go to the Menu -> App folder, look for Settings Wizard "Sett. wiz.". Try to setup an email account from there. Don't use your gmail account though (it seems like MfE tries to be smart when it recognizes some email domains and pre-selects some settings for you, but we need to be able to access some options to set on our own). Don't worry about this account, you can always delete it once MfE is configured. At some point of the setup, you will be asked what kind of server. Choose Mail for Exchange. This will trigger Mail for Exchange to be installed.
Subsequently you will see your MfE folder populated with Mail for Exchange and other stuffs. Get into it and configure your Gmail. Some settings to note:
    Exchange server: m.google.com
    Secure connection: Yes
    Use default port: Yes
Username: Your gmail username (just the name, no need the @gmail.com part)
    Password: For the gmail account
Domain: gmail.com (I believe blank is also ok, but mine is current set as such)
Make sure that synchronization is set for Contacts and Calendar only. Tasks must be disabled (it used to be because Google Calendar did not support Tasks, but even they do support Tasks now, it still breaks MfE). Email must be disabled.
    Done.
I did have further trouble though. The sync keeps hanging and then eventually "Invalid Password" error (yah right, after sync halfway they realize my password is wrong... no, something else is mucked up). I eventually deleted my phone data, and re-sync it from Google again, and everything was fine.
Once you've got your phone data on Google, you can search Google for other tips on pulling the data into Mac.
Hope you have fun getting this to work.

  • A little question about the WWDC 2006 and Macbook

I was considering to buy my first Macbook, no, my first mac EVER these days, but after i heard of the WWDC 2006 i'm afraid to miss some new upgrades made on the Macbook when i buy it next week.
But someone told me too, that even if there are Upgrades, i probably have to wait them to come to Europe for about 2 month - and thats much to long to wait for me cause i need it for work in the next four weeks !
Hope you can say me whats to do
    Greetings
    Agent Darkbooty

Thank you very much for your help
    But i've got still a question ..
..would you buy the macbook next week or would you wait untill the end of the conference ?
Seems like there will only be software updates for the macbook

  • I'm a little confused about the Adobe Site of the Day submission.

Can you only submit if built with Muse?  Where can you submit an already built side with code?

The sites in the www.adobekb.com Site Of The Day gallery are Muse sites. Many contain HTML embed code for maps, Twitter feeds, forms, videos, analytics, etc., which can be simply copied/pasted into Muse Design view. Some contain animations created and placed/imported from Edge Animate or Flash Pro.
We do our best to screen the site of the day winners to exclude sites that were achieved by editing the HTML generated by Muse after export, since that workflow requires hand coding which is not what Muse is about. Sites that include copied/pasted embed code or small snippets of code inserted in the <head> section of Page Properties within Muse are fine.
    A couple caveats
    1) We recently removed one site that relied on hand editing after export from Muse, which either did not contain that code when the award was granted, or we missed it.
    2) Authors of sites are likely to continue to evolve their designs after the award is granted, so the site linked to may no longer be the exact site/code that was awarded Site Of The Day honors.
If you encounter a site in the gallery and are puzzled by how it was created with Muse, ask about it here. I'm sure the community would be happy to respond and the discussion would be educational for all.

  • Little thought about the Leopard

Well first it is quite fancy, but I found out some imperfection.
    1. Sometimes when I switch windows, say between iTunes and Safari, I could see the window become messed up, totally "cracked" for less than a second.
    2. Before in tiger, no matter what software I am loading and using, how much memory I have taken up, the music played by iTunes will forever plays smoothly with no unwanted delay or stopping. But now in leopard it's not. I already encountered a couple times the music stopped for a second when I open a few safari windows.
usually these things are very normal in ms windows. I fear that leopard will turn into something like that.
I don't know, I am a little disappointed with Apple this time.
They don't have to be so hurry I guess

I wonder if this is a RAM issue you're having?
Leopard has a lot going on and it looks like you've got 1GB? I don't suggest any of my users run OS X 10.4 or 10.5 with less than 2GB.
I've been able to have Mail, Address Book, Calendar, Safari, Firefox, iChat, Preview and iTunes open and play a movie in iTunes while switching between 8 different spaces and I don't notice a single pause or hiccup. That's on the very first Intel Mac, the 2GHz iMac with 2GB RAM.

  • A little infor about the K8MM-V

    I new to the 64 CPU's and just upgraded from socket A.  I now have a K8MM-V, Sempron 64 2800+ E6 and PC400 memory.
If the CPU bus speed is 800mhz, what is the board bus speed with PC400. 800mhz? 400mhz?  ???

All K8's have the memory controller inside the CPU Sempies are K8's so they have the memory controller built into the CPU just like all other K8's.
As the memory controller has been quite successfully integrated into the CPU now this lowers the overall latency of the memory and now even running at DDR4oo you are running as fast as Intel runs with high end DDR2 memory that is muc faster in theory. AMD changed how the game was played. However it also comes with some changing ideas and sometimes those can be hard to grasp. The CPU is in total control of the memory and as such things like overclocking memory are different as well as overclocking the CPU. It can also get tricky when there is a memory error. LOL well we knew there would be some prices to pay for working better in the end. I digress though. Like Bas said just set the memory to Auto and let the CPU deal with the memory for now. If you have an error then use memtest86 to see what is happening. Report if you see any errors and on what test the errors showed up.

  • How are you supposed to find the latest podcast if there's little information about the podcast due to the recent iTunes changes?

For example, many of the podcasts for Washington Week all have "Washington Week with Gwen Ifill a..."

You should blur out or cover your login if you post this sort of shot.
Click on the image for the podcast itself:
Better still, click on the 'Subscribe' button and you will get the latest episode downloaded to your Mac as soon as it's posted.

  • I'm a little confused about the vents...

At work I use my early 2011 MBP connected to an external monitor. The computer itself sits on a ThermaPAK to help cool it down, because I do graphic work it runs hot. I want to know if I close my MBP if it cuts off the ventaliation to the board and all because from what I understand the vents themselves are in the black strip? If it keeps the computer cooler, I have no problem using the external display soley and using an external keyboard and mouse (which I do anyway).
    Tips and tricks?

  • Can anyone tell me about the SMS backup

hello.................... i just wanted to know about the backup of text messages that where i can make it and restore it.

    Hi,
what kind of treinament you find? A techical/functional treinament, a user application treinament.
If techinal treinament, the bookshelf is the better document to find information. You can use the forum, sites and Oracle Metalink to find you doubts.
If user application treinament, where user use the application and find about how to execute a process, you can use IHelp or your company can use Oracle UPK (User Productivity Key). You can create treinament in this tool and your users can acess the treinaments.
    Regards.
