Little red line appearing at bottom of 2 clips dropped onto my timeline

This isn't a clip that isn't yet rendered. Rather it's a line that appears at the bottom of the clip but only from the first frame till about half way through the length of the clip and it also has four little white rectangals at the start of the red line. It plays fine on the timeline, doesn't need rendering (if you do, it is still there) but I have never seen this before and wondered what the significance is or what it indicates?

it's showing you instances of using the same media in your sequence. you've enabled Show Duplicate Frames in the Timeline Options of your User Preferences.

That fixes the dash, which is an underline. The default style for a link is an underline and since it was not defined the tag gets the default style for the underline.

Where are you importing from – a camera or computer? If you are optimizing at import, make sure the background processes are completed. (Command-9)

Red line appearing along one border of a graphic (from Word)

Using: Acrobat 6.0 Professional (yes, I know it is downrev).
Source: MS Word 2003 for Windows.
Problem: A red line appears in the PDF that looks to be the invisible (right hand) border of a graphic that looks fine in Word. This occurs only on one of many graphics. We have tried converting the original image to PNG, TIFF and JPEG and all formats produce the same result. We have tried both printing to PDF and using the Distiller button that is in the Word interface. The problem persists.
Has anyone else ever seen this?

Out of curiosity, which format does the EPS preview supply to Word? Word does understand TIFF, JPG, PNG, WMF and BMP (among others). You say that Word "ignores" this, but that sounds intentional. Rather, it is a format that Word doesn't understand or doesn't have the routine necessary to decode and display the preview. Any clue why? Not critical, but I'd like to understand the mechanics a bit more.

A preamble, then. Some information embedded at the head of each EPS file?

That is a LOT of instructions. A typical page of ASCII text takes up approximately 4KB of space. 1,275KB seems like an awful lot of instructions for a graph with only 20 words or so and perhaps 100 lines for cartesian coordinates. A "bitmapped" file of the same drawing takes up only a fraction of that, even uncompressed (TIFF or BMP for example, with JPG or PNG taking up far less than that, perhaps only 15 to 35KB in this case).

I'm not arguing, just failing to understand the mechanics. Of course, I had two gigantic books on PostScript on my desk ten years ago and I never did read most of them...

I do not have color or underline requested but a red line appears under each typed letter, Only have this problem with Firefox, Often I need to hit the letter several times before it appears, Sometimes i type several letters before any appear on the screen, Scrolling wont stop when I want it to, There are times that I have typed a paragraph and all of a sudden Firefox takes me out of the "new Mail" screen without my wanting to leave, Then I have to retype everything to send it,.

Little red dots appear in SWF

Hello, I'm wondering if anyone has had experience with this
or has any suggestions. I have a timeline animation with very
little coding in it. When I publish it, little red dots appear here
and there over areas that are just a black background (at least
that's where I can see them in the SWF). They appear consistently
in the same locations and patterns, but there's nothing in FLA that
should be causing this. I'm using CS3, and publishing to Flash
player 8, as2. Any suggestions? Thank you!

Thank you for your answer, because I never would have
suspected it was the movement causing it, since usually there's no
problem. It was an animated text object which had animation for
position, scale and alpha. There are gradients in other objects on
the stage, so maybe that's not helping either. It's strange,
because I animate things all the time without artifacts. I tried
settings all the parameters to integers, but it's still doing it,
so I'll just change the animation for this sequence to something
that doesn't do that. Thanks, again! :)

There's a green/red line that appears on the RIGHT SIDE when I export my presentation to QT. I'm using H.264 @ 24fps with Multipass encoding at best quality. I'm not including audio or transparency.
The slide size is 355x200.
The contents are vector graphics, images, and videos.
However, no videos are right justified.
I'm using KN 3.0.1 Trial and have QT Pro & Flip4Mac Trial installed.
What are the reasons for this line in the .mov and how do I fix them?
Is it the shadow effect on the actual slide canvas?
I've exported files successfully in the last week since I've had my MacBookPro.

How do I change my notifications so that the little red dot appears when I get a new Facebook/Twitter/Four Square update?

When i get a new facebook message or tweet the little red dot does not appear on my phone. Does anyone know what I need to do?

Try Settings>Notifications>Twitter>Badge Icon>ON. Do the same for Facebook and any others. See if that helps.

Quicktime BUG Green line appears at bottom of movs on MAC not WINDOWS

HELP!
I've started to notice that a bright green line appears at the bottom of my movies. I import them into Macromedia Director and they still show, but after publising my projector for windows and viewing on a PC they disapear.
Problems mainly on MAC but not i've had reports of problems of the weird green line on another PC.
can anybody help?

Open the movie in QuickTime Player. Pull down the Window menu and select "Show Movie Info". What is listed in the "Format" field?
In that same window, is there a difference between "Normal Size" and "Current Size"? (You might also compare that size to the size shown on the Windows computer which does not display the green line.)
What is the extension on the filename (.mov, .avi, .mpg etc.) ?
Pull down the Window menu and select "Show Movie Properties" what tracks do you see listed?

IMac G5 17" display w/ thin vertical red line - top to bottom

I purchased an Apple iMac G5 last year (2004) for my son's Xmas present. He informed me of a thin vertical red line several months ago that would come and go. I am just now a few days over the one year warranty period and unfortunately now just getting time to look into the problem. The serial number indicates that it is one of the G5's that are under an extended warranty for video and power problems.
Q) Has anyone else experieced this problem? If so, what has been your solution? Hopefully, Apple will provide some type of fair solution to this problem. Note: the line seems like it is one pixel wide extending all the way from the top of the screen to the bottom. There are some times when the computer first comes on that the line is not there.

How do i right click when a red line appears under a misspelled word?

i need help. im new to pages, and when i misspell a word a red line shows up underneath just like in micrsoft word, but the problem is i dont know how to correct it. how do i right click to view the correct spelling?

Double-click to highlight the word & then right-click just as you would anywhere elese. Suggestions will be at the top of the list. Many times there are no suggestions.
Of course, make sure secondary click is turned on in the mouse preferences in System Preferences.

Geen line appears at bottom of MP4s at 720x486

One of the stations which airs our programs specs requires 720x486 as an MOV, MPEG2 or MP4. But as you see in the attached screen print, there is a green line at the bottom of the video. Yes, it’s airable because the green line would be way out of action safe and would not be viewable on anyone’s television, but the station doesn't like it and it bothers me that I can't find a way around it. Even with me stretching the video on a 486 sequence and exporting it as 486, the line still shows up on the MP4. I would export an MPEG2, but I cannot export an MPEG2 at 486 with a 29.97 frame rate which is also required. I would export it as an MOV, but the file size will be about 10 times larger and will be a problem for delivery.
As I told the station, it this seems to be a lot of effort over something that won’t be viewable on anyone’s television sets, and I said I'm willing to work with them if they have any ideas. I wondered if you have any suggestions here as well.

That's unfortunate, because that is almost certainly the cause of the green line.
MPEG codecs work best when the dimensions are evenly divisible by 8. I bet if you went to 488 or 480, that line would go away.
