Little solution of ftp connection trobles in Vista

Hi, after many days of work I have find a little solution for the know problem of ftp connection in Vista system with Explorer 7 or 8 installed.
This solution is tested under Dreamweaver CS4 with a Unix Apache server.
With the old WS-FTP not work!
Instructions:
1- Choice SFTP transfer protocol (you need a web server that support SSH transfer protocol!)
2- As remote directory you need write the full root server directory (for example: /home/user/domain/etc./)
That work fine!

You might have already done this. I just did not see it in your post. Ensure that there are no Network, Firewall problems first.
An FTP in a dynpro seems like it would be coming from the SAP system. Try first to have Basis to 'Ping' the site. Then ask them to FTP manually, outside of SAP from the SAP server OS. If that does not work, perhaps a different site would allow the FTP from the SAP server environment.
If that all works, there may be a demo program supplied by sap. Look in se38 with the word DEMO, in the program input field for hints.
You can try transaction SM69. This transaction allows server-level command scripts as: "external OS command". See if it works from there.
   I hope that this helps....

  • How do I get SQL Agent to perform an FTP connection through a SSIS package?

I have created a number of SSIS packages that I am running through SQL Agent in various jobs.  I have set up a Credential / Proxy for the job steps and for the most part everything runs no problem.  The issue I have is with the step where I make
a connection to a FTP server and download files.  In BIDS the step works fine but in SQL Agent the step times out.  I presume that it has to do with the account that it is being run under but that is what I thought the Credential / Proxy was supposed
to handle (as it does for all the other steps).  I am running on SQL Server 2008 R2.  I have created a test job that has only one step which is to connect to the FTP server and download some text files.  I have tried utilizing package configuration
files and have tried various ProtectionLevels to no avail.
Anyone have any thoughts or direction for me to take?  Will continue to research and will post if I resolve this.
    Thanks, Andrew

On the dev environment the ProtectionLevel is set to EncryptSensitiveWithUserKey and that is what I tried first on the prod server.  Subsequently I also tried utilizing a package config file (with ProtectionLevel then of DontSaveSensitive) and have
also tried working with the ServerStorage.
For deployment I copied the relevant dtsx files to a solution on the prod server.  I verified that the packages all had tested connections in the Connection Manager.  I have run all the packages in the BIDS on the prod server and they all worked.
I have created a test package from scratch on the prod server to test the ftp connection.  This test package runs from BIDS fine.  I have set the SQL Agent file to access through the file system (no luck) and have saved the package to the SSIS Packages
and had the job step access from there (no luck either).

  • Adobe Dreamweaver FTP connection doesn't work with german "Umlaut" like "ö" in the severadress

    Hi
Today I tried to establish a FTP connection to the serveradress "ftp.möbelverwandlung.com", but I get the error message that the program couldn't connect to the host. As Dreamweaver works perfectly with other serveradresses and I managed to establish a connection to "ftp.möbelverwandlung.com" with other programs, I think that the problem is the german "Umlaut" "ö". Did anyone recognize the same problem and does someone know a solution?
Thank you very much for your help

  • DW FTP connect / time out?

We had our server hacked last week, now we are taking more
    precautions.
Someone suggested while we are using Dreamweaver to be sure
to 'close' the ftp connection manually after each upload.
When does dreamweaver time out? (ie if we leave the office
and leave DW open, will the ftp connection remain 'open'
    indefiently?)

yeah, i'm pretty sure you stay connected either until you
    close the
program, or you click the little disconnect button, or you
    get
disconnected in some other way. but you can have Dreamweaver
    open and
disconnected from the site at the same. if you look at the
    Files panel,
under the site name where the Get and Put buttons are,
    there's a
    connect/disconnect button.

  • FTP connection in J2ME

    Hi All,
can anyone tell me is FTP connection in J2ME possible or not? If it is possible, how it is possible?
    Mahabub

AFAIK at present there is no FTP API's avalable from J2ME/MIDP front that you can use to establish an FTP connection.
Meanwhile I have a pretty easier solution for you. You can use Jakarta Commons Net API's at the App server end to communicate to the intended FTP server by means of Servlet so that you can form an Http response as per your requirements. for e.g.:- you issue ftp command from J2ME client and pass it over http to the Servlet residing in your app server. internally the web-tier component establishes the link to the FTP server and responds appropriately based on the issued commands.
You can also use a telnet client that uses socket communications but the approach mentioned above I rekon would be a feasible one bcause the Usability matters the most when it comes to Mobile applications.
    Hope this information helps.

  • FTP Connection Issue in Dreamweaver CS4

I just reinstalled Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit and of course had to reinstall Design Premium CS4. Up until now Dreamweaver CS4 (Version 10.0 Build 4117) has connected to ftp flawlessly, however ever since I reinstalled I have been receiving the "An FTP error occurred - cannot make connection to host. The remote host cannot be found" error message.
What I have tried so far:
I have double checked that my login information is correct
I have successfully logged in to the ftp server using another ftp client and through a browser
Through Dreamweaver I have tried using passive FTP, secure FTP, firewall and none of those settings make a difference.
I receive the error message whether I click "test" or try to connect through the files panel .
I have checked my firewall settings and Dreamweaver is an allowed program.
I don't have access to another ftp server to check if would work in that situation.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled both Dreamweaver and the entire suite.
Is there anything else that I need to do?
Thanks in advance for any help.

This is a maddening issue that's getting press in various forums, here and on Adobe's site, and all sorts of third party blogs, etc. I spent days wrestling with this with no luck, because in CS3, which I"ve been using for years under OS X, Extension Manager is broken (under Mountain Lion, at least). Installed CS4, CS5—nothing worked. The ""can't connect" error message appears instantly, suggesting that DW wasn't even trying to make the FTP connection, which led me to suspect Little Snitch or some other firewall issue, but this wasn't the case. I isolated login items, repaired permissions, booted in Safe Mode—all with no luck. Finally, I tried opening DW from a different user login and FTP connected. This, at least in my case, pointed to something in the user folder. I narrowed it down to the User/Library folder. Creating a new user and copying the Library folder over copied over the problem, as expected. New user was deleted, and I wen tinto the troublemaking User/Library folder to see what I could see. There were old files and folders there from previous installs, including CS3—speciifically in the User/Library/Application Support folder and, of course, in User/Library/Preferences. After deleting thiese, I found no further problems connecting via FTP in DW CS4. I presume that CS5 also would connect now, but I'm not keen to put it to the test. Under CS4, Extension Manager works fine, which is what I was looking to accomplish in upgrading from CS3. Moral of the story: Adobe CS installations do not like legacy files and folder either in User/Library/Application Support or User/Library/Preferences. Deleting these may work for you, too—at least it's another string to the troubleshooting bow, and this one can be a real bear. Good luck to all who have run into this.

  • FTP Connection with backslash in username

    Hello,
I am using Peter Torpey's FTPConnection.jsx to upload rendered movies to a server directly from After Effects. Works great on my server! Now, I have to use Microsoft's Azure for hosting this project, and their FTP username includes a backslash. The connection is refused ("Login failed: Server rejected username"). Seems like ExtendScript's Socket doesn't like the backslash in the FTP username!
The logfile contains (domain\username is my ftp username):
    --Put: successfully connected
    +220 Microsoft FTP Service
    --Found code: 220
    :USER domain\username
    +451 The parameter is incorrect.
    :QUIT
When defining the ftp username in JavaScript, I escape the backslash:
    var ftpUser = 'domain\\username';
The FTP credentials work with a FTP desktop client (cyberduck in my case) and also in command line.
Any tips of how to get this working?

    Hi Arie,
thanks for your help. Unfortunately the two suggested solutions don't work. I have also tried other options with quotation marks (which work in command-line ftp) like
    var ftpUser='\"domain\\username\"';
    and none of them work.
I can definitely verify that the FTP connection works with an FTP client or via the command line in OS X.
I can also connect without any problems with a PHP script, so the current workaround uploads to a "normal" FTP server and then a PHP script transfers the files to the Azure server.
    Best,
    Andreas

  • Sharing HP Printers Connected to a Vista Box

I am a new Mac user and am having difficulty setting up access to two HP printers through a wireless network. The printers are connected to a Vista box and set for sharing. Does anyone have any advice? Thanks - i appreciate the help.

    Hello bluesurfertodd,
Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the HP Forums I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More.
I understand that out of the box the HP Pavilion 23fi monitor worked great on your MAC, but the next day it did not work properly. I would try the monitor stand alone and if possible plugged into another computer. If it works correctly contact MAC as they make the display drivers for MAC computers.
If it does not work correctly stand alone or connected to another computer, the the issue you are describing appears to be a physical issue and I think it would be best if you contact HP Technical Support for repair options.

    Hi,
If you have two SAP systems and you want to send the data from one system to another system using ABAP proxies, then you go for a direct connection. Here, you will just use the configuration of PI system and the message will not go via the Pipeline steps.

  • Transfering .csv file from SAP to NON-SAP using FTP connection

    Dear All,
I am able to place the .CSV file successfully to other system using FTP connection, but when i open the file I could see the gaps between each record. I mean 1st line with the 1st record and 2nd line having a GAP and 3rd line with the 2nd record and so ..on as shown below
    1     1/1/2009     0     41000027
    2     1/1/2009     0     41000027
    3     1/1/2009     0     41000027
I have declared an internal table as below
    TYPES: BEGIN OF ty_charlist,
             line(5000) type c,
           END OF ty_charlist.
    DATA:  w_charlist TYPE ty_charlist,
                 t_charlist TYPE TABLE OF ty_charlist.
And concatenating each field seperated by ','
    CONCATENATE  res1 res2 res3 res4 res5 res6 res7 res8 res9 res10 res11 res12 res13 res14 res15 res16 res17 res18 res19  res20 res21 res22 res23 res24 res25 res26 res27 res28 res29 res30 res31 res32 res33 res34 res35 res36 res37 res38 res39

  • Adding a site to a ftp connection

    Hi,
Just upgraded to DW CS4 and in doing so I pressed a wrong
    button...!
I have numerous sites in my site manager window and one I am
working on has reverted to being nothing more than an ftp
connection. This was my fault as I went back into the set-up window
for the site (edit site) and made it an ftp connection only, rather
than a full site with connections to local folders as well as
    remote connections.
Problem is, now on the site manager list the icon has changed
from the folder with the name of the site to the ftp//sitename here
icon and I have no idea how to get it back so I have access to my
    local folder.
    Any help?
    Thanks,

There really isn't any way to go back from that choice.
so- Make a New site definition and pick "site" and not "RDS"
    connection.

  • Need help to Configure FTPS connection for File Sender Adapter

    Hi,
I want to Configure, FTPS connection (Secured Connection) for File Sender Adapter. Could anyone please guide me, what Information I require to configure. I just want to know what Information should I request the team inorder the configure FTPS so that it can be deployed properly.
I have checked with [SAP Help Link|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/EN/e3/94007075cae04f930cc4c034e411e1/content.htm] and while configuring the communication channel found that I need Keystore and the X.509 Certificate and Private Key.  which needs to be deployed on the J2EE server by using the Visual Administrator.
Is there anything else, I need to configure.
Any help would be appreciated in this regard.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Varun.K

The basic things are Certificate/Keys which you already know. Usually it is enough for running a sceanrio.
However, if you have additional requirements, like FTPS for "Connection Security" for encryption, then you may need additional details like commands. Rest all settings are same as FTP.

  • How can I find out the server port for a secured FTP site and creating a FTP Connection Manager

I have to create a FTP Task to go out and get the files that our 3rd party vendor will be dropping on a secured FTP site. I have all the credentials to access that Secured FTP Site and have successfully done so through FileZilla.
Now I need to set-up a FTP Task to go out and get their files and in so doing create a FTP Connection Manager. Is there any way I can determine the
Server Port number from the Secured FTP site? I let it default to 21 and tried the Test Connect and it failed.
Thanks for your review and am hopeful for a reply.

    Hi ITBobbyP,
SSIS has a built in FTP task, while this only works for the FTP protocol, it doesn’t support SFTP. But there are some free clients like WinSCP and
SSIS SFTP Task Control Flow Component
available in the CodePlex which can invoked from SSIS.

  • FTP connection on mobile device works over wifi but fails over 3G

    Hi all,
Hoping someone can help, or has come across this issue.
I am developing a mobile app using flash builder 4.6 with the flex 4.6 sdk. My app needs to transfer files via ftp.
The issue I am experiencing is that the ftp connection establishes and files transfer without a problem when connected via wifi, on both android and ios platforms.
However, when only connecting via a 3G connection on a device, a problem occurs. While I can establish a connection, when I send the USER command, I never receive a response.
A simple view with code to reproduce this issue is listed below. Has anyone come across this problem? I have been searching far and wide but cannot find anything related.
Could this be an issue with Adobe Air or the socket class? I have written equivalent code using the android sdk in eclipse, and a connection to the same server and user details works on both wifi and 3g connections.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

Probably you need to write your own AIR native extension, which uses the native Android sockets..I have the same problem and I'm just starting writing the extension...I guess there is no other way..At least you test with native android socket and you confirm is fine, so we know it should work

  • Background scheduling of FTP Connection through R/3

    Hello Friends,
I have done FTP connection by using Z-pgm which uses function FTP_CONNECT. This is working fine in Foreground mode.
But in background scheduling of the z-pgm, i am getting the <b>error as 'RFC to program SAPFTP failed'.</b>
I checked RFC destination SAPFTP in SM59. There Activation type is 'Start on Front End Work Station'. I tested the connection also. Its alright.
How to do FTP processing in Background?
    Cheers,
    Seema

    Hello,
you could try to use RFC destination 'SAPFTPA' - it's ftp on the application server. Since SAPFTP is  'Start on Front End Work Station' and in background there is no front end work station, it can't work.
