Little White Dot on left hand of screen

Hey guys I have this little white dot on the left hand side of my screen. It seems to be dead center vertically and is just a 3 or 5 millimeters from the left edge. I think it's slightly larger than a single pixel (maybe two?). It's not a stuck pixel. It goes away if I put something darker behind it but if there's something white or very light behind it the spotter stands out as brighter than the rest.
I noticed it a month or so ago. I tried stuck pixel fixers but that doesn't seem to do the trick. I'm way out of warranty so i can really only do home fixes. It's not a huge deal but it gets kind of annoying cause once I notice it keep nagging at the back of my mind until I leave my computer for a while and forget about it.
Anyway I used it for over a year before noticing it so I think it appeared a while after I bought it but I don't know exactly when. I was thinking maybe the LCD backlight got jostled or something and now has a little bit of focus on the spot along with regularly lighting the rest of the screen. just a theory...
So do you guys have any ideas and hopefully easy home fixes that don't risk my computer's functioning?

I have this same issue. I have two small white smug looking spots that showed up about two month ago. It’s is really apparent when the Apple default blue screen at boot up.

“The Genius” said they are what they call bruises. Bruises caused by pressure applied in a concentrated area on the screen. I asked how that was possible when I carry my MBP in a case inside my bag. He then explained that anything could cause this and most likely was gripping the case of the computer when closed. He also went on to explain that this was not covered by the normal Mfg. warranty or the extended service plan.

Small White Dot lower left

I've noticed a small white dot that appears on the screen when CS5 is active. I've changed the background from neutral gray to black and sure enough it's there and only appears when PSCS5 is open. It doesn't matter if I have a photo open or not. I first noticed it when working on a photo and tried to use the clone tool to remove it. It tried cleaning the screen and finally figured out that it is Photoshop that produces the white dot. As soon as I click Finder or any other application the dot disappears. Weird! It appears about 1.5 inches from the left edge of the screen and about 1 inch from the bottom.
Anyone one else see this or is it just me?

It's a bug, we're testing the fix now.

Is the left-hand Home screen reserved for TV and movies?

As familiar as I thought I was with Android (via my phones) I thought I would've figure out by now how to get this screen back for other uses. But so far no luck. Is 1//3 of my available Home screen space really reserved for TV and Movies (and, at that, apparently only the ones downloaded from Google Play)?

Bingo! You were absolutely right! And now that widget is gone.
Unfortunately, so is the screen it was occupying. Now, instead of three screens I have but two - - the original center screen and the one that had previously been the right-hand screen.
Which prompts the question of how and where pages are added or deleted from the home screens.

Anyone else have a little white box, top left of browser window???

After the new big update, (that still wont allow changing the color of the arrange window...) I notice I have a little white box top left of my browser window, in logic of course, that actually only shows up while cursor is moving. Not a big deal, but I feel it may be associated with a new problem. The browser window is how i usually go through my personal samples, not apple loops. And normally, I open the folder, and play the first file via space bar, or little speaker icon. Then I just arrow down, as fast or slow as i please, and they continue to play, without having to hit space bar or speaker icon. No longer. I have to hit play at every file, UNLESS I manage to skip to the next before current is done playing. Not a huge problem, but when your riffling through a folder with 300 kick drums that are only a half a second long, it can ruffle your feathers. I dont recall ever setting a prefference or a setting, but perhaps one exists..? Any help would be appreciated.

I'd send some feedback to the Logic Devs... to bring back the old functionality, if I were you....

As for the spacebar problem you are having... Not happening here... unless I put the focus on the arrange window.. Click on one of the sample in the browser window and then the focus is on the browser window and the spacebar starts playing the samples... and not the project.

Little white dot in the blue Egde box

Hey Guys,
Does anyone have a clue as to what the little white dot in the blue Edge box means? Since the 2.0 Update it seems to come up every once in awhile then it goes back the the E.

It means you only have a GPRS connection. Not even EDGE.

They should have one in Stock, but you never know. Call your Apple Store and tell them you have an iPhone 5 color and GB, and that you most likely will need a replacement, do they have any in Stock. If yes, go in, if not ask for advice on how to handle your problem.

White line on left side of screen of my iphone 4?

What causes a white line on left side of screen of my iphone 4? It runs from the top to the bottom and is about 1/32" wide.
Just showed up yesterday. It's like the entire screen image is shifted to the right. Is this a sign of a major problem coming?

This sounds like you may have hot corners enabled to access Mission Control. Here is an article that will walk you through changing the top left hand option of hot corners from Mision Control to none.

Expandable menu on left hand of screen

I have recently downloaded a PDF file which has upgraded my Adobe Reader to V8. Prior to this I was using version 5 where on the left hand side of the screen there was an expandable menu for the contents of the various pages of the document.
In version 8 this menu has been replaced with thumbnails of pages. Is there a particular setting that needs to be selected in V8 to view an expandable menu? We are teaching young children to use Adobe Reader and the expanable menus made navigating a lot easier for them.
I have tried the various toolbars but none appear to reveal the menu.

You can choose between thumbnails, bookmarks, and many others. Note
that while you always have thumbnails, the bookmarks are only there
for certain files.

Captivate 7 only recording top left hand of screen no matter what mode or size im in...

Captivate 7 is only recordin the top left hand of my screen (almost like im zooming in) no matter if im panning or not, what mode im in (simutlation demonstration etc) and it doesnt matter how big or small i make the screen either. It doesnt matter whether i record on IE or Safari or chrome...i have windows 8.1 n the most uptodate version of CP 7

Are you using File > New Software SImulation to create the captures, or are you just hitting the button on the toolbar to Record Additional Slides?
What is the current size (height and width in pixels) of your CPTX file?

Not fully transparent when exported little white dots around images

I don't know if I should just copy from the illustrator file while in the program and paste into my indesign document directly or export as some other file. I've done the export as EPS before so I went with that. However my images that I drew in illustrator with a brush tool and colored are not full transparent. I see little white spots I don't know if that's because indesign shows them like that or are they actually there. I am combining images because I drew parts separately as opposed to drawing the whole scene together because I wanted to move certain characters/objects/scenery. My question is are the little white spots actually there or is that just that indesign displays it that way? I exported them with the default settings as EPS in illustrator with transparency. I didn't change any settings. Thank you in advance. Oh and I use illustrator cs5.1

so basically only PDF and AI files are able to hold transparency? or are there other formats? In that case what should be a good format for professional print when I have a logo or image that has transparent parts? (In illustrator that would be any part you haven't colored correct?) I've gotten EPS files though that have transparency. Or maybe I'm using transparency wrong I mean like for example you if I made a logo the edges of the logo would be clean but in my case it isn't. there are little white spots as if my background was filled with paintbucket tool in photoshop and removing it with the magic eraser tool from the white background I filled in. I don't mean transparency as in the opacity but as in the background being transparent. Sorry for the confusion!

Along with the colour shift issue (that seems to be gone when not on full bright?) I also have a white pixel whenever a full screen application runs (eg DVD Player, Aperture).
It is not stuck because when the screen saver comes on it isn't there. Strange one hey, any ideas?

A little white "spot"

I've got a 15 inch macbook pro that I purchased in late 2007. As I was looking to the left of my screen I see what can only be described as a little white "spot". I wiped the screen and it's still there. What is this? What can I do about it?

You don't say how big the "spot" is but it sounds like a dead pixel. What can you do about it? Not much other then have your display replaced. Luck of the draw I guess as I've owned many a MacBook and never had a dead pixel on any of them. I do have two 30" Cinema Displays and on one of them I have a dead black pixel but it is so tiny it is of little annoyance.

White dots on Pictures

I posted my website and some of the pictures i posted have little white dots all over them. But it is only like that when viewed on certain PC computers. So far 4 of 5 PCs I viewed my website on, there were the white dots. Can any one tell me why this is, and how can I fix it. my website is brookeimages.com

Ok, depending on what version of IE they have, it could be this thing.

Since it's an IE problem, if they can't upgrade their computer, they're stuck with it. The article mentions the problem happens when files are larger than the screen, so using smaller images might work.
