Remember when you bought your first 3G iPod? It came with these little white, plastic plugs to place into the connector when it wasn't being used to charge. Does anyone know if you can buy these plugs anywhere?

Thanks for that, I've been wondering what it was for from opening the plastic box up as it doesn't tell you in the quick start guide, yup it's a little white plastic thing with 2 clips at the bottom & a hole in the middle of it with a grey piece of plastic sticking out with a number 16 on the grey platic thing lol,All I got in the plastic box with mine was that & the cleaning cloth, Usb Charger, Ipod Touch & the quick start Guide (didn't get anything else like the last poster said) So If I get a speaker system what say's IPOD on it, I'll be able to use my Touch with the dock connecter insert ? and does the speaker system have to support Ipod Touch or can I use any for Ipod with the dock insert thx

How does this little white plastic stand work?

I've got this little white (with a little grey part with the number 16 on it) thing which I think came with my iPod Touch 3G. I have no idea what to do with it. There is a hole in it that seems to be for the dock connector. But how do I use this?

Little white piece

Hello Mac users-
I was cleaning under the keys on my Macbook and there are these little white plastic pieces. I accidentally broke one that is on the left under the spacebar, however, the button works fine without it. My question is, what are these things and is it bad that one is missing under there and if so, would they have an extra that they could give me at the Apple Store?

you probably broke off a piece of the scissor key mechanism off. If it still works, I wouldn't do anything about it (I believe the spacebar key has 2 scissor conectors). is it completely white or opaque white?
Chances are Apple will most likely charge you for a new top case (unless you can get a nice genius to grab a spacebar key from a previous top case repair)
otherwise, you might want to order a replacement one from an independent reseller such as here:

Little White Thingamajigs

Remember the little white pieces of plastic that would plug up the charger opening at the bottom of the iPod? Is there any place online that sells them?

I don't think my iPod came with those. Interesting idea. I would probably lose it anyway. It only took 2 weeks to lose the plug for my cell phone charging hole.

Internet videos with little white box in middle

When viewing videos on the Internet I keep getting a little white box with Adobe Flash Player on top and an unknown company asking permission to download on my computer with an option to Accept or Deny on the bottom. When hitting the Deny button it does not go away. How do I permanently stop these boxes from appearing?

Gap separation between grey plastic and white plastic

Im a new user to apple, i just received my white macbook about a week ago from the online store. Around about the third day i realized there were some little gaps between the grey and white plastic. They seemed to be pretty harmless. however, since then ive been noticing them in different spots around my computer. I dont really feel like sending it in and all, such a hassle. Is this serious? I was able to lift a bit the right side with my nail, put a tiny piece of double-sided tape so it would stay in place, seems to be doing okay, but will it get worse and worse all around my laptop? Could it eventually come right off, the gray plastic that is??? Help!!!

That plastic clips in around most of your computer. There are small clips that hold it in place and it is actually attached to your keyboard. In other places on your computer that plastic is attached to metal and the metal is screwed into the frame of the computer, I guess it all depends on where your talking about.
If it is pulling up in a few spots I would call into AppleCare and let them know, perhaps some clips are missing or broken. If they are broken you don't want plastic chips floating around inside of your computer.

Compaq Laptop CQ60-615DX Little white light beside the dc jack blinking repeatedly non-stop

Compaq Laptop CQ60-615DX white light next to where you plug in the power cable keeps blinking. Never stops Blinking. Computer doesn't power on.
The DC jack is loose, took the laptop apart, pressed down on the dc jack to hold it in place, and stuck the power cable back in. Tried to wiggle the cable around to see if the jack is bad. But it feels pretty solid, it's just the housing holding the dc jack in place that's broken.
But I'm still getting the little white light beside the dc jack blinking repeatedly non-stop. No system power.
Question is.
1. Is the DC power jack bad and needs to be replaced or.
2. There is a short in the motherboard and the motherboard needs to be replaced.
I have check all over the internet for what the white light blinking means. I've found no answer.
Could someone please tell me what is wrong with this computer?

I already encouted this problem yesterday and I want to share this information on how I was able to fix this issue where in the dc jack blinking repeatedly and the laptop wont turn on. This issue is resulted due to overheat so laptop automatically shutdown and results to some kind of hibernation.
1. First you need to dissamble your laptop (compaq cq60). To clean the exhaust fan. I cleaned it because it was very dirty. I used my laptop for almost five years. If you dont know how to dissamble your laptop, you can check the tutorial from youtube. Just be very careful.
2. After Removing all the parts you can use a brush to remove all the dust inside your laptop. After cleaning all the dirt inside the laptop you need to let the motherboard cool for 1 to 1.5 hrs.
3. When you put the dc jack dont put the battery. So once you plugged the DC jack you can see if the light beside the jack still blinking or steady.
4. Once the light is steady., you can now power on your laptop. and a message will appear that your laptop overheated.
5. You can use cooling fan to prevent from heating.
6. Clean the parts inside your laptop every half year. to remove dust that cause the exhaust fan not to work properly.
Now I was able to use my laptop again.

- Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Make sure that y do not leave any foreign material or leave anything in the jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so.
Try the following to rule out a software problem
- Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack.

If not under warranty Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for this price. They do not fix yours.

Little white light

Hi,
My powermac G5 running leopard, 1gb ram, was running fine on friday and i left it running over the weekend. when i returned on monday it had powered down and the little white light was on permanently (ie not slowing flashing). I pressed it and nothing happened. i pressed and held it and nothing happened ( the light stayed on and the computer remained powered down). so i turned the computer off at the mains, after about a minute the light went off, i plugged it back in and it made no difference, the light came back on and computer remained off and pressing it did nothing.
i unplugged the mac for about 15 minutes, plugged it back it and the little white light came back on, pressing it did nothing and the computer remained off.
What can i do!!! what has happened!!!

IPhone 6 direct to 230V without the little white cube?

I've seen similar questions/answers, but not this one: Can you plug an iPhone/iPad etc straight into 230V via USB and ONLY an adapter, and skipping the little white cube? I know the little white cube (used to plug the USB into the wall outlet) can go straight to 240V (going from USA to Ireland), but can the actual phone handle that without the cube? My type G adapter for Ireland has a USB port. If I can skip taking the cube, I'd like to. Taking an iPhone 4S, iPhone 6, iPad 2

You can go to a USB port. It may take longer to charge. It depends on the USB port you are charging from.

T61 Keyboard (White Plastic Underneath)

I'm looking for the white plastic under the keys, but do not know the name for it or the part number. I know I can buy a whole new keyboard and replace this but I hate to throw away a good keyboard. 1 plastic under the "=" key is broken and the "=" key is lost from the keyboard now. I still had this T61 in warranty, but as I bought it in US but I'm now in UK, the customer service in UK tells me they can't fix it in free of charge , and they don't even have this type of keyboard.My machine type is 7658-CTO.

I don't believe Lenovo sells individual parts like that for keyboards, however someone over on TPF found them on eBay. I can't find the exact thread right this minute, but you could try there.

That white plastic thing that covers the dock connector

I just got my iPod mini back from a repair with Apple. It's a different iPod and it works great, but the little piece of white plastic that I used to cover the dock connector doesn't fit this one. Is this a problem? It seems like the connection could easily become dirty if it's not protected.

No, it's not a problem. Most iPods don't have a cover, just the earlier models.

I'm afraid you'll have to get the phone serviced, dropping the phone must have damaged additional parts inside the phone.
But Apple will not service the phone anymore, opening the phone and replacing the battery should only be done by authorized personal, not by users.
You'll have to look for a 3rd party repair shop and see if they can fix this, sorry.
