Live! 24 bit will no longer burn cd's with new bur

Problem:
I bought a better cd burner and now Creative Mediasource says that no supported burner is found installed. My computer sees it. It plays dvd's as advertised.
Old burner: Optiwrite (no name cheapie)
New burner: Sony model CRX320AE
My computer: eMachines 600mhz, 256 ram, about 5 years old.
I looked thru the forum, found only a suggestion that I uninstall and reinstall the sound card. I'd rather know for sure first.
Compatibility issue?
Thanks
Nick

Brassmagnet,
MediaSource uses a burn engine from NTI. Go to the following website, they list your dri've as supported with their latest database update. Just download the update at the bottom of this page and copy it into your MediaSource folder.

  • I reinstalled I-Tunes several weeks ago.  Since then I can no longer burn MP3 Discs with Title and Artist Info.  Sometimes it only burns every 3rd song.  No Audio CD it seems to function OK.  The version has the "cloud" but I don't know if that matters or

I reinstalled I-Tunes several weeks ago.  I can no longer burn MP3 Disk with Song/Artist info onto disc.  It comes up as No Artist/No Title on car CD unit.  Old MP3 Disk previously recorded still show all info.  Sometimes only every 3rd song is on the MP3 CD.  On Audio Disc there is no change and all info still shows up.  The new I-Tunes version has the "cloud" on it if that could make a difference.  In the select Burn CD mode I can select testing and add song info for Audio Disk but it shows shadowed out for MP3/Data.  I added and removed ID tagging from my list to see if that made a difference but it didn't.
    Any Thoughts?

This may help.  Audio files are actaully in the DATA folder.  These can be editted with Soundbooth then they must be imported intot the specific slide in the Powerpoint presentation.  Publish the presentation (as you'll read below) and *should* work This reply came from robva65 [email protected]
Let's try this: *Publish* the PPT deck you have.  What you'll end up with is a set of files and folders, but I want you to look for the *data folder* that's created as a result of the publishing process. (Unless you specify where you're publishing to, Presenter will publish to a directory called "My Adobe Presentations" by default, so you may have to look there on your harddrive)  Inside the data folder will be a list of mp3 files, which, if everything goes smoothly, should make it much, much easier to see which audio is used by a specific slide.
Here's what I mean: for example, after publishing, I have a data folder and inside I found the following file: a24x9x3.mp3  As I double click the mp3 file (which causes it to play using Windows Media on my laptop), I can hear that it corresponds to my slide 9 in my PPT deck.  And there's corresponding mp3 files for each and every slide I have in my deck.  I'm clicking another file (wouldn't it be nice to see what I'm doing???) a24x20x3.mp3, and that file corresponds to my slide 20 content in PowerPoint.
So again, give publishing in PowerPoint a shot and see if that makes it any easier.  Well...not nearly as easy as recording in Audition/Soundbooth/Audacity, but it's close enough to hopefully dig you out of that hole you're in now.
    Hope this helps ~rich

  • HT203164 help! i am using itunes 10.6.1.7 and windows vista 64. itunes will no longer burn cds. i have searched online and tried all i saw that could possibly fix it and it is still not working.

    i have tried:
    reloading itunes
    unchecking 'write'
    removing lower filters in regedit
ensuring i had the correct 'gear' info in the upper filters in regedit
    removing 'gear' from regedit, system32
    reloading updated version of 'gear'
    cleaning my registery
    deleting itunes
    cleaning registry again
    reloading itunes
    cleaning registry again
i still cannot burn cd. t i can import and play cds in itunes and i can watch dvds. itunes will just not burn to blank cds, and i have tried sever new blank cds, each is not recognized.
i do not know what else to do, i have searched the internet and whatever i saw doable i tried.
when i check the cd drive in itunes i had gotten a 4220 error, cnet advised to download a free error fixer, however, this error fixer gave me and enduser message, so that didn't work.
the diagnostic for the cd burner read that i had to put in a formatted disc with content so i did and there are the results of that were that it read the cd and that the 4220 errir code was encountered last time there was an attempt to burn.
and 'could not open cd handler 32. there is a problem with the installation of the drive in windows or the drive contains a copyprotected cd.
the above is not the case as it also popped up for me to import cd to itunes.
i tried to copy and past the entire contents here but it would not allow me to paste.
    please help!

I too have only recently encountered this problem. I have been able to burn disks before but it keeps making all these weird sounds. It might be a hardware problem but the fact that everything else that uses a disk works I doubt it.

Itunes will no longer sync...need to upgrade it?  On the computer or on my phone?  When I went to the Itunes site - and attempted to upgrade ITunes, it said i needed to upgrade my OX.  what do I have to do

  • I am unable to burn CDs with songs recently purchased from itunes. No problem before. When I try to burn a playlist with new songs, I get the error message that "songs will not it on 1 audio CD". If I remove all songs except the new one, it will burn.

I am unable to burn CD's with the last 4 songs I've purchased from the iTunes store. I can burn CD's from playlist using previously purchased songs with no problem. With a normal length playlist including 1 of the newly purchased songs, I get the message "songs will not fit on one CD". I can remove all but the new song and 1 other and the CD will burn. I have upgraded to the latest version of iTunes and still have the problem.

I have that EXACT same problem! I have no idea what to do though, but it is very mucho frustrating. Let me know if you find out anything, and I will do the same.

  • Ipod 1st Gen will no longer charge or connect with cord only dock.

I was recently given an ihome dock for my ipod. I've using it for about a month now and recently my ipod touch has stopped connecting to ANY computer (yes I have tried 3 different ones) I have also tried 3 different cords. I used an old Ipod nano video to test the cords and it connects just fine and charges. Is it possible that something has become loose or has malfunctioned inside the touch due to the use of the dock? I know that 1st gen's don't always fit with new docks etc, so I'm afraid I may have damaged something.
    Any ideas?

Because once it has charged enough to be powered on as soon as you turn it on it says battery is at 20% and will not charge anymore after that, it just runs for about 5-10 minutes before the battery dies again. The battery cycles discharge/recharge daily and its not on the charger at full charge for more than a couple hours and is never totally dead for more than a couple of hours.

  • Again I ask Itunes will no longer burn a playable cd for cars why???????

I need to burn my CDs and several songs from the itunes store to a CD that plays on my 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe. The previous itunes libraries 7-8 I have had since I have had this car and their burnt CDs worked fine. However now if I burn in this version 9 nothing plays. I Import CDs with 20-30 tracks that on previous systems a full burn could take place and no quality lost. Now these burns in the new system do not work.
Now before you ask me if it was set to Audio Yes it was and I also set it to 2X speed. My Car is supposed to be able to read MP3 CDs and used to read those from my Itunes library but now not anymore.
Also I have reset it to audio and found that at 2x speed I can get a CD to burn up to 5 songs a disc that will read but come on we know something must be wrong, we should be able to double that amount.
Before you ask did you make sure the speed is adjusted to a low speed, let me tell you this, I have been fooling with the settings trying to solve this problem and have wasted CDs and found that of every available speed, 16X was what worked best prior to Itunes 9 and now after wasting CDs and checking settings as I experimented, 2X is the only one to show me any playable music and only 5 songs, I want to be able to burn more than that.
So I have been adjusting the settings constantly and have determined that if it was set to audio and 2x I get a 5 song disc, however if I try to burn more the entire CD is wasted because it becomes unplayable. I have also tried this with every available CD-R which is the only burnable my car is able to play. Everything from Memorex to Sony and PNY and the same results happen still.
I have also tried this in Toast Titanium and in there not one CD burns at all. I am beginning to wonder is it really Itunes that is the problem or is it a problem that has happened due to a update file that was in the Mac OSX update for superdrive.
I checked with my dealership and they told me that windows burned CDs still work perfectly which they even demonstrated in my car, however when we looked at a CD burned from the one apple computer at the dealership, it too would not read. Thus it leaves us to wonder, what is going on here.
Can anyone give me a valid explanation or an actual mac genius please trouble shoot this for me? I need an answer that is better than another question. Please read through this before asking anything please help thx

Okay, can someone please give a useful answer? Thanks! I have been experiencing exactly the same problem for some time now, and it is very annoying. Furthermore, I would like to point out to Chris CA that there is absolutely nothing ambiguous about the original post.
So here is the deal. I used to be able to burn CDs with iTunes that played back fine on both my car and home stereo. After some update, and I am very sorry but I really do not remember which one, as I am just a user and not a programmer and just want something that works, which in the end Apple used to be all about, and therefore do not keep track of all the updates, CDs won't play back on my car stereo. Nothing else changed, still the same brand of CDs (even the same stack!), still the same car stereo, and still the same 2007 MBP. So by simple deduction I conclude it must be a software update. And I do not care what the exact cause is, I just want a fix!
I'd like to apologize for my tone in the above, but it is just a very annoying problem, even more so because it seems nothing is being done about it. Thanks for your answer in advance!

  • CD burner will no longer burn cds

    Hi,
I have just updated to leopard (10.5), and now my cd burner no longer works when I go to burn a cd. The drive can read a disc fine and even sees the blank discs when they are put in, but fails to write on them.
I have tried using toast and iTunes and still got the same result. In iTunes, It builds the disc correctly, then initializes, and says its writing the first track, but fails to do anything as the status bar never fills up, the disc just spins, sounding like it is writing. I leave it there for a period of time, and the status bar still never moves. In order for it to cancel burning, I have to force quit iTunes. The disc then appears on the desktop with the correct # of tracks and time, but its is just a bunch of buzzing on each track. When I try using toast, it just gets to initializing and freezes.
It sounds as if its some driver issue as the drive itself functions well. It is a Pioneer DVD-RW and was added after I got the mini, so its not the stock Super Drive.
Any suggestions are welcome! Thanks in advance!

Try creating a new account and see if you can burn. If so, the problem you are having is local to your normal account. If not...well, if not the problem is probably a bad OS install though it might be hardware. The only way to find out would be to do the new OS install.

  • IDVD will no longer burn DVD+R discs

After years of happily burning both -R and +R DVD's, now suddenly my iDVD will only work with -R? I'm stranded here with no -R discs (and a new 50-pack of the other), so I hope you can tell me how to restore this function of my software. I suspect it has to do with updates that make the various components incompatible, but I wouldn't have a clue how to remedy that.
I've tried closing and re-starting iDVD, emptying the trash, removing the motion function, deleting encoded assets, moving com.apple.iDVD something something to the desktop before opening iDVD, but nothing made it keep the disc in the drive. It spits it out saying to please insert a DVD-R disc.
    Thanks!
    Roxane

    Try this:
    1. Instead of burning directly to disc, use the option in iDVD to output to a disc image
    2. Upon completion of creating the disc image, use Apple Disk Utility to burn the image to your new media
If that fails, it is likely a media issue; your drive is not compatible with your new media.
Outside of this, something else you can try is to simply see if the disc can be burned using Finder. While in Finder, you can mount writable discs in your drive for backing up files and folders. If Finder cannot mount and write to the disc, again you have a media issue.
    What to do?
Wait for Apple to update the drive firmware to handle newer media; or get an external drive that is newer; or purchase new media. The latter is your cheapest and most timely solution.
I've got quite a selection of media here and seem to notice that some brands give me the most problem. I've found that Verbatim, Sony, Fuji, TDK, and Taiyo-Yuden seem to give predictable results time and time again.
My most recent failure was with some off-brand +R DL media I picked up at a Frys sale. While trying to burn a Snow Leopard install disk, I had 3 failures in a row - drive recognized the disc and burned it, but it would not verify. Going back to one of my tried and true brands resulted in success on the first try.

  • My Premiere Elements 11 will not longer burn regular DVDs, but will burn Bue Ray

I have reinstalled the program and still get the same erro messages when I try to burn a regular DVD.  Any ideas on how to fix this?  ( I have been burning regular DVDs for the last 4 months and have burned al leasr 15.

    ATR,
I removed the stop marker and the DVD burned the way it should.  I really appreciate the quick response.  (I am still a bit confused why the stop marker  did not cause a problem when I successfully burned a Blue Ray disc)

  • Disc will no longer burn - QMaster error

Yesterday (and on many other days) I burned a Blu-ray Disc out of FCP7 (using Share).
Today when I follow the exact same procedure as I always do, I get the "Share Failure. An Internal error occurred: Apple Qmaster File Agent not found." error message.
I don't want to use Compressor -- I want to use Share out of FCP7, using the same menus I'm used to. What's wrong?

Open Compressor 3.5 after you have exported a self contained, current settings QT out of FCP.
Under File, choose "New Batch from Template" and choose Create Blu ray.
Drag the self contained movie file into the image well where the down arrow is represented.
In the Inspector, choose Job Action, and select the menu you want.
Enter a title, encode and burn.
