Live Blur? Is there a way to do it?

By this I mean is there a way to set up a layer or shape to actively blur whatever is beneath it? I have been using a workaround where I take the background image, convert it to a symbol (in case I want to change it, it will reflect in the blur) then create a duplicate of the background layer on top, take that and blur the whole thing to how I want it, and then use a clipping mask to cut out the section that I want to stay blurred. I would love it if there was a way to just take a rectangle, do some magic settings or filters or something to it, and have it auto-blur whatever is showing through it when transparent or whatever. Kinda like how the apple iPhone or really anything they have now actively live-blurs anything under it. Thanks!

When you created your account in iTunes, you should have added a credit card to that account. With a credit card on file, you can buy whatever you want from iTunes and it's automatically billed to your credit card. To add a card, go into Settings > Store and click on your Apple ID. Fill out the credit card information, save and you're done.

Is there a way to use Illustrator to draw over a live video feed coming from my microscope?

Hi, we use illustrator to draw (trace) over static images of mite specimens taken under a microscope. Although this works, it would be much better to be able to draw directly from the live video feed coming from my microscope. The specimens are dead, so they are not moving around, however, we need to focus down through the specimen in order to see all details. We normally take montage images, but because the specimens are clear there are many artifacts present and we frequently have to consult the specimen under the microscope to double check things. My students and I have hundreds of drawings to complete and are looking for a way to streamline the process. If we could avoid making montage images and draw direct from the video feed, it would revolutionize the way we approach our research. Is there a way to display the video feed and then overlay Illustrator so that we can directly trace over the image (we use a Wacom tablet, but that shouldn't make a difference) so we can focus at different levels and draw the entire organism?

Maybe it's possible to have live video in Illustrator, but you would most certainly need to write your own plugin.

Is there a way to remove the blurred background wallpaper effect when using the phone in iPhone 4S' iOS 7?

A few nights ago, my picky client finally upgraded his iPhone 4S' iOS 6 to iOS 7. He doesn't like the blurred background wallpaper image when using the phone feature (e.g., calling and talking). Is there a way to disable this new visual effect like in iOS 6? I am pretty sure this is by design by Apple.

No, all iTunes gifts and gift cards are country-specific - so a Canadian gift can only be redeemed in Canada onto a Canadian iTunes account.

My father has owned his iphone for almost exactly 9 months. The phone was purchased in the US when he was on holiday. We live in Barbados, but the phone should still be under warranty. (please correct me if I'm wrong). He says the phone will not boot, it is inconsistent with showing how much battery life it has and it keeps looping because it's always trying to reboot. He treats his electronics very well and the phone is in perfect condition. Is there any way that this can be fixed without him losing all the information on the phone? Or can he get a replacement phone (due to the warranty issue)?

It sounds like you have a hacked/unofficially unlocked iphone. When you update, it will indeed lock it back, as it should.
The ONLY place that can legitimately unlock an iphone is the carrier to which they are locked and no U.S. carrier does this.

Is there a way to use Photoshop's field blur, iris blur or tilt shift blur straight on AE?

I want to use photoshop's selective blur effects on several footage. I know I might import the footage on Photoshop and just apply the effect on the video sequence, but this workflow is rather incomfortable for a whole bunch of clips.
Is there a way to use either those filters or reproduce their behavior straight on AE?

You can pretty much recreate all of them using effects like Compound Blur or Camera lens Blur wit ha custom matte and you can expand this further by getting a plug-in suite like REvisionFX' SmoothKit where you have even more sophisticated adaptive blurs.
