Live Box with airport + compatibility with a maching working on windows

Hello, I have 2 questions about how to use my iBookG'. Who could help ?
1) I want to connect my iBook to a Live Box (Wanadoo) : is it possible with the computeur only or shall I by a tool ? (which one?)
2) I have a cell phone which works on windows and I can't transfer th documents from my phone to my iBook (photo,…). How to manage?

Je crois pouvoir te repondre en des termes plutôt simples.
Reglons ce probleme de LiveBox, si ce n'est deja fait.
Pour pouvoir y connecter ton iBook, il suffit d'aller dans le menu "pomme" du finder, de derouler le menu "Location" ou "reseau" (cela depend des mises a jour installees ou non sur ton mac)afin de cliquer sur "preferences du reseau".
Une fois la fenetre "reseau" ouverte, tu cliques sur "assistant" tout en bas. Ne reste plus qu'a suivre les ordres de l'assistant : tu lui donnes le nom que tu souhaites, tu continues...Ensuite tu sélectionnes "j'utilise Airport pour me connecter sans fil", tu continues et l'on te demande quel réseau tu souhaites pour te connecter, et là tu dois retrouver ta livebox sous le nom "wanadoo-xxxx", qui correspond au nom produit que tu peux trouver, soit sous ta livebox, soit derrière le cd d'installation de la livebox, accompagné par la cle WEP, c'est a dire 26 chiffres à inscrire en tant que mot de passe dans l'assistant. Donc tu continues encore, et puis encore une fois, et la, le mac affichera une message d'erreur comme quoi "il est impossible de se connecter au reseau", pourtant, va sur internet, et Ô magie, tu peux surfé. Normalement, cela devrait marcher chez toi aussi, ayant moi aussi une livebox, de marque inventel, et un iBook G4...Croisons les doigts.
Sinon,Je te conseille vivement de noter la cle WEP dans un fichier texte, pour n'avoir qu'a la copier-coller pour te reconnecter plus tard.
Concernant ton telephone portable, je pense que tu dois pouvoir te connecter via la fonction blutooth du airport...Mais la, ca depasse mes connaissances...

Why will a stand alone executalbe with an installer work on windows 2000 and crashes on windows xp professional?

When I run the setup.exe file on a Windows 2000 system it installs properly, but the same file run on a XP Professional system I get an error stating Fatal Error: Installation ended prematurely because of an error.
See here for more information on the specific installer I'm trying to use.
In fact I get this error for any stand alone executable I try to install on any XP machines. I am using LV 7.1. Is there a way to manually install eve

Sure you can Install a lv application manually. just copy the exe-file,
support files in a folder. For the runtimeengine just copy the file
lvrte.dll in the folder of your application or in the windows system folder.

Currently, the only way to sync your calendar with a XP machine is via Outlook 2003 or 2007

Writing to socket with setinterval not working in windows

Hello Everyone,
I'm trying to stream a big file to my server, and was using 'setInterval' just fine to slowly upload it from OS X, but when I moved my AIR application to a Windows Vista computer, it no longer worked. I started doing some investigation and found out that 'socket.writeBytes' function was not working inside of 'setInterval'. I then moved the code inside of 'setInterval' to outside of it and everythink worked, but obviously it was no longer streaming. Thinking there was something wrong with 'setInterval', I tried it without the 'socket.writeBytes' function in it, and it started working fine.
Not sure what is happening, but it seems like a bug in the air.Socket code.
Here is my code:

Insert your Snow Leopard disk, when you are in Windows 7. Install the Bootcamp 3.0 drivers.
Then restart your computer into Windows 7 and apply the Bootcamp 3.1 update.
Then, you can try again running Starcraft 2 beta. However, you can not be sure that this beta version
will be running.

Okay, for anyone that is also having this problem I believe I figured out the problem. Adobe files are saved under .xpi extensions which is just another type of .zip file. If you do not have winzip installed you cannot install flash player. I now have mine working. Good luck!

Possible Workaround - AirPort Extreme Disk Utility not working in Windows

1) The only way I have managed to get Windows (in my case Vista) working with AE Disk Utility is to set it up using the "Assist Me" or "Manual Setup" with the Airport Utility with no special settings used to configure it.
2) Update the Station & let it restart.
3) On your Windows PC - Simply temporarily DISABLE your firewall until the next step is successfully completed. (I am using Norton 360).
4) Use the Airport Disk Utility to log on as either a Guest or User. (You should see the drive appear under Windows Explorer & see ALL the files it contains)
5) Re-enable the Firewall you have.
6) This works for me everytime & I am able to stay connected to my USB drive for as long as I want or I wish to disconnect it.
7) Repeat the above everytime you want to re-connect the drive to the Airport Extreme.
I am able to connect successfully using my MAC Mini & my Dell Laptop at the same time without conflict.
I know this is not an elegant solution, but until Apple get sort this out, it is failry easy to try.

Well I fixed this. Get the AirPortBaseStationUpdate2007001.dmg update. I had installed this, but it didn't put in a few items that it should have. Mainly a little application in Core Servies. I used Pacifist to install the Airport Disk Utility again, and then restarted. I no longer got a beep when opening AD Utility, but I had to uncheck "Automatically discover disks" then turn off file sharing on the router, wait for it to restart, then turn file sharing back on, and then open AD Utility after restart and click Auto Discover. It then saw my disks. I also changed the name of the Windows Workgroup, I don't know if that had something to do with it. Good luck!

Airport extreme, audio won't work on windows 7 boot camp for my macbook pro osx lion

Bought my Macbookpro in late 2011 and osx lion, decided to put boot camp on it, but it won't find my airport exrteme or even if i connect the ethernet cord directly into the laptop it still wont conectto the internet, and my audio also doesn't work, even when i plug in headphones, any suggestions?

Sorry for the late reply, I've searched as much as I could all having similar issues but not quite being the same issue. I've tried manually putting in my airport extreme information, search for other connections, start a new connection, all have not worked. I did everything normally to setup windows except put in the authentication code which i have misplaced.
I might've already added the drivers but im not too sure, how would you add the driver, just in case i missed that part

Apple airport express wireless printing not working on Windows

I have installed the Airport Utility v 5.5.3 and Bonjour Printer Wizard on my Windows XP (SP3) machine. I have successfully set up the router, but am unable to print wirelessly. In the utility, I see my printer and have selected the checkbox Share printers over WAN. I have the driver printers installed on a Windows laptop, but am unsuccessful printing from the laptop.
I read somewhere that I need to set the Internet > Connection Sharing to Off (Bridge Mode). I did that and then got the following error and then can't connect to the internet via the router at all:
An error occurred while trying to access the Apple wireless device. Make sure your network connection is valid and try again. Error -6753.
I have tried setting up Bridge Mode several times and ensured my virus protection and firewall were disabled, but always the same results, so I reset my router and am back to using the Internet > Connection Sharing option of Share a public IP address.
The whole reason I bought this router is because it is supposed to be easy for wireless printing, but this has been far from easy to set up. So frustrating. Any suggestions?

Thank you for your quick response. Yes, I have Bonjour Print Services installed. I thought I had to select Share printers over WAN for some reason. Just now I deselected this setting, updated the utility and wireless printing still does not work .

Airport Extreme internal card doesnot work in Windows

I recently got an airport extreme card installed in my Mac Pro tower so that i could connect to the wireless network in my home. I am running a Linksys wireless G router in the basement that has the cable modem connected to it. When i am running my mac in OSX i can connect fine, but when i use bootcamp to boot into windows XP i cannot connect to the network. I have installed the broadcom drivers from the leopard disc and i get the wireless icon in the windows system tray but it says it is not connected. When i open it up to see all the available wireless networks it says that windows cannot find any. Does anyone know what could be wrong?

Live Upgrade with Zones - still not working ?

I'm trying to do LiveUpdate from Solaris update 3 to update 4 with non-global zone installed. It's driving me crazy now.
I did everything as described in documentation, installed SUNWlucfg and supposedly updated SUNWluu and SUNWlur (supposedly because they are exactly the same as were in update 3) both from packages and with script from update 4 DVD, installed all patches mentioned in 72099, but lucreate process still complains about missing patches and I've checked if they're installed five times. They are. It doesn't even allow to create second BE. Once I detached Zone - everything went smooth, but I had an impression that Live Upgrade with Zones will work in Update 4.
It did create second BE before SUNWlucfg was installed, but failed on update stage with exactly the same message - install patches according to 72099. After installation of SUNWlucfg Live Upgrade process fails instantly, that's a real progress, must admit.
Is it still "mission impossible" to Live Upgrade with non-global zones installed ? Or am I missed something ?
Any ideas or success stories are greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The upgrade went fine, the zones boot up but there are problems.

Sony X85C - Bravia Sync Issue with Samsung Homecinema and WD Live Box

Hello I purchased the 2015 4k Sony TV X85c line, its the 55" with Model Nr: KD55X8507C (silver bezel). The latest Android TV version from mid July is installed and the TV is working fine - except for the interaction with my 2 other components:- a Western Digital Live streaming player box- a Samsung Homecinema HT-D6750W I knew i could run into problems when mixing up brands, but the issue now is really bugging me: The Samsung homecinema is connected via the HDMI 4 ARC to the Sony TV. The Westen Digital is connected to the homecinema. All devices are HDMI CEC compatible, thus on the Sony I can see the other devices and even control them with the Sony remote - which "concept wise" is really neat, but something is failing. It seems that the Sony trys constantly to switch between audio system (Samsung) and its own TV speakers when choosing how to deliver the sound. This somehow interfers with the menu dialogs of the Sony. As soon as I connect the Samsung Homecinema and go into the display menu to change image settings / modes it the menu will crash after some seconds (it just fades away). This does not happen when the homecinema is not connected, but then of course im missing the sound of my homecinema. So there seems to be a certain interference and I assume it could be because of the constant audio switching between TV and audio system. I already tried to deactivate all HDMI-CEC features on the devices, but for the Sony TV's bravia sync its impossible to deactivate fully (the menu is just greyed and "on"). I'm getting some new and state of the art HDMI cables later this day, maybe this will bring a positive effect. Anyone experiences something similiar with the X85C range of products? I "solved" the problem: Bravia Sync does not seem to be compatible with HDMI CEC / Anynet of the Samsung homecinema. I deactivated all HDMI CEC features on the samsung player and the WD TV Live box, and then the deactivation of bravia sync was possible on the TV. After that the issue with the menu crashes was gone. Now i try to get digital audio with optical to the samsung player. So i connected optical out from the Sony TV to the optical in of the player. There are different settings to be made in the sonys audio menu now which I'm still not sure what to do. It has different compression modes for the audio (auto 1, auto 2, pcm). PCM seems to work for most digital audio content, but i fear DTS is not supported by the Sony. I tried the XBMC Kodi Android App on the Sony TV and got digital audio on some movies, but not all of em....not sure if its an app or TV problem. Oh well..for the moment i stay with the WD live streaming box which supports all audio formats and is connected via HDMI to the player, but its just a very slow cpu in there, so it would be cool to use the more powerful TV as streaming player.

The HT4307 article you attached has a sentence that starts: "To use Game Center on a restricted Wi-Fi network, ..."
So it would make sense that whether you can use Airport Express Extreme (I believe it's either AirPort Express or AirPort Extreme, not both) out of the box would depend on your Wi-Fi environment.

I cannot get my Ipod touch to work with my Orange Live Box

Please help me - this is my second day of trying to resolve this!
I cannot get my Touch to connect to my Orange (Wanadoo) livebox. I have tried pressing '1' to allow the devices to pair. Doesnt help although the small antennae-like light does not flash on the live box (thought it should!). I have entered the 26 digit WEP key more times than I care to remember. I heard that I should change settings from WPA/WEP to WEP only but cant work out how to do this.
Very grateful for any assistance.

Hello and Welcome to Apple Discussions.
WEP can be cracked in a few minutes. Try switching to WPA which is mroe secure and isn't finiky about passwords like WEP is.
