Live! Cam - Status LED Control

hi,
I hold an integrated Live! Cam. I would like to know at which level its status led is controlled. Software, firmware or circuits?
May it be possible for a hacker to turn the led on/off remotly ?
thx

If I open FaceTime now, it can not find a camera.
Does anyone know this problem?
What can I do against this?
It is really annoying. Since Mountain Lion some things really go wrong..
Sounds like a trip to your local AS or AASP if the solutions in KB Article http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2090 How to Troubleshoot iSight does not work.

  • Camera "Status: Unavailable"

    Hello there,
I recently purchased a Creative Live! Cam Notebook Ultra. After installing the drivers and programs, I was able to access the camera through Creative's program(s), however I am unable to access it through Windows' Scanners and Cameras (from the control panel.) I have the newest drivers installed from Creative's Support website. The properties of the camera say "Status: Unavailable" (See picture)
I am unsure what this problem is, and have looked through these forums and googled around, but to no avaial. If anyone can help, it'd be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,

I've reduced the MAX HEAP SIZE regarding Note 736462 and Note 723909 and it worked just fine.

  • Unable to get Live Cam Video IM pro to work with MS Messenger

I have installed Live Cam IM Pro and all software from CD, plus updates. It works if I try Cam Manager ... I see myself in preview window.Looking in Start - settings - control panel - scanners & camera there is only one entry, the Live Cam pro. I cannot get it to work with Windows Live Messenger .... if I initiate a video call, it rings but when far end answers ... I get video window with ... video loading message, but it fails and I just get a standard XP icon. If I go to Messenger .. tools ..audio & video the camera sparks into life and again I see myself in preview. But when I go to tools .. webcam settings I see the error message :Cannot change camera settings because your camera is not plugged in or you are using it in a video conversation or with another programIt is obviously plugged in, and there are no other programmes running. I have tried deinstall & reinstall ... no difference. I have removed CD extras .. so now just have Cam Manager & Video driver ... but still no joy.Anybody know how to fix this ?

  • GD80 Status LED and System Suspend problem

    Hi everyone.
    My hardware:
    - MSI P55-GD80
    -BIOS AMI v1.4
    -Intel Core i7 860
    -OCZ 4GB (2x2GB) 1600MHz CL8 Gold Low-Voltage

    - Debian GNU/Linux "Squeeze", kernel 2.6.32, amd64
I have a problem with LEDs on motherboard. when they are lighting I can't "wake up" pc from S3 state (aka suspend). It just restarts when wake up event appears.
Actually the lighting LEDs are: 1&2 VTT_PHASE; "LED2" , which indicates active PCI-Express 16x port; CPU Phase LED panel (it shows 8) and + - buttons used for overclocking (OC Gene and these buttons are turned off in BIOS)
But the strangest thing is that the LEDs sometimes turns on and off (actually one day they do, in other they don't) when I turn on computer, even when they are disabled in BIOS (Green Power => Motherboard LED Control) [btw. Touch Panel is disabled and it still works  ]
I have cleared CMOS , swapped SATA cables and I have checked RAM and PCI-Express connection (sometimes when I reinsert graphic card everything starts to work well, but for a few days the problem appears again. The same goes to SATA cable  )
Anyway it looks to me like an error reporting (or something) but there is nothing about that in the manual. (or it's a BIOS bug).
I have been searching about it, but i haven't found anything.
Anyone had this kind of problem?
EDIT: BIOS upgrade from 1.4 to 1.5 didn't help.

    Hi ctemp1,

But the domain has not been restart.
    $ uptime
    12:28pm up 52 day(s), 2:41, 6 users, load
average: 2.35, 2.49, 2.66SunMC is forwarding the status detected by your SMS daemons: so uptime probably isn't showing the whole story. Try a SMS command like "showenvironment -d A" and see what's reported.
Also what version of SMS are you running? SunMC has an update available for the new SC hardware, USIV uniboards, and newer versions of SMS that change the SunMC addon from the name "12k-15k" to "High-end Systems":
    http://www.sun.com/download/products.xml?id=431df39d
If it looks like there's a mismatch between what SunMC and SMS are reporting, and you're running a newer version of SMS (i.e. 1.5) then you should give that update a try.

  • Charge status LED bug in new firmware

After updating my 2nd generation iPod shuffle firmware from version 1.0.2 (which it came with) to version 1.0.4, the status LED does not correctly indicate when the battery is fully charged anymore.
According to the manual, the status LED should turn from yellow to green only after the battery has been fully charged, which takes about four hours if the battery was completey depleted. It worked that way with the original firmware.
Now with firmware 1.0.4, the LED turns to green after a little less than 90 minutes of charging the empty battery, which by then obviously isn't full yet. From runtime tests I conducted it seems that the battery has reached about 85% charge at this point.
So if you want to ensure a full charge, ignore the LED and charge the iPod shuffle for at least four hours until Apple fixes this issue.

I went to local Nokia service, and they told me that probably it was wrongly flashed. So I reinstalled firmware two more time, but it always have the same problem. Is there someone with 6300 that have the newest firmware and can test this ?
    thank you
I will put this phone to service and see what they will do.

  • How to turn OFF status LED on VC220?

I'm looking for a way to turn off the status LED on a VC220.  This is not the IR LED, but instead the large blinking LED on the front.
The documentation mentions that it can be turned off, but I can't find a menu option for this.
    Thanks for your help!
    --Joe
    Status LED
    Indicates the following status:
LED Off—The power is off or the LED status is turned off.
Flashing green in one second intervals—The camera and network is functioning.
Steady orange—The camera can’t detect a networking signal; thus the camera is not functioning. For example, the Ethernet cable is not attached.
Flashing orange—The PIR sensor noted movement. Flashing green rapidly—The firmware is being
    upgraded.
Flashing orange rapidly—The camera’s default settings are being restored.
Alternating flashing green and orange—Video has been lost.

    Joe,
Use the Network Setting > IP Setting page to set the IP address and other related
    settings. When you complete the configuration, click Save to save the settings;
otherwise click Cancel to discard the changes.
    • Disable LED Operators—Select to disable the LED illuminators. You may
choose to do this if you don't want to alert others that the network camera is
on. Use the Network Setting > IP Setting page to set the IP address and other related
    settings. When you complete the configuration, click Save to save the settings;
otherwise click Cancel to discard the changes.

    thanks
    John

First, there is no indicator light that flashes when an alert or notification has occurred, or a call came in, etc, like the 755p had.  Why would this feature be removed??  If the phone screen is turned off and on vibrate (like how my phone sits while at work), you would never know unless you checked the phone or had alerts set to repeat constantly and vibrate my desk all day long.  I can live with that I suppose but an update or application that could fix this would be awesome.
PalmOS had a lot of nice features that do not exist in Windows Mobile...
There is a program in development and available for testing named "Treo Alerts" that I think can blink the LED. You can get it here: http://discussion.treocentral.com/showpost.php?p=1462706&postcount=2050
    (I haven't tried it myself.)
The real issue I have is with the phone always trying to connect to Sprint Power Vision Data services via #777 to synchronize my email accounts.  I have all email (Outlook and Pop Gmail) settings to manually check for new mail, and the checkbox UNCHECKED for allow internet connection.  But every few minutes or so a message will pop up asking to connect to the internet even though everything is set to manual.  It is SO ANNOYING so currently I just have it set to stay connected.
As long as the phone is not actually transmitting, I suspect you do not save much if any power by connecting only for voice rather than voice and data. It would be interesting to know one way or the other.
Post relates to: Treo 800w (Sprint)

I have a mid 2009 13'' MBP. I got the battery replaced in Apple store, It then stopped displaying the battery status LED.
After some months of use my MBP died outside USA. I got it checked in Apple verfied Service centre and was told that logic board was faulty.
After I came back to US I took my MBP to Apple store and was told that there is liquid damage in the system. My question is that if there was liquid damage why did my MBP stop displaying the battery status right after  the battery was changed secondly why didnt the apple verified Service centre tell me that there was liquid damage afterall I paid them the money for diagnosing the problem.
Is there a process i can followup on this problem

These are question you would need to ask that service center.

  • Live Cam Voice requires restart after system sleep under Vista

I have attached my Live Cam Voice to my brandnew Vaio Notebook which runs Windows Vista Home Premium and installed the latest drivers from the Creative website. The cam works fine, until I put the laptop to sleep mode and waking it up again. After waking the PC up, the cam is not recognized anymore and I need to restart the computer.
Anybody experienced similar problems and (hopefully) has a solution? Thx.

Did you ever solve this problem? I have a similar problem on my desk top running Vista Home. I couldn't get the Vista driver (download from this wesite) to load so resorted to trying the XP dri've. This seemed to work until Vista put the machine into "Sleep" mode. After coming out of Sleep mode I eith have to restart the computer or disconnect and reconnect the webcam.

It shows up ok and fine on the video web cam, and also as i mention above the application seems to freeze adhock.
Advice given from ireland on the phone,
    1) try tips from website ....like shut down anti virus and firewall etc ...done that no use !
    2) uninstall, install the files from the CD
    3) uninstall.... install from the web app and drivers ( which i have already done )
    4) try from another PC...i have not got another PC!!!!!
Does anybody have any other tips...please help

Yeah, I hear ya! There is such a tremendous delay between sound and video that it looks like a bad kung-fu dub :womansad: I bought 5 of them for may office and they are horribly poorly synched. What's up?
