Live! cam Voice Programming question

Hello everyone,
I am trying to access my brand new Live! cam voice using standard wiaClass code like this in C#:
WiaClass wiaMgr = new WiaClass();
wiaDevs = wiaMgr.Devices as CollectionClass; // call Wia.Devices to get all devices
int count = wiaDevs.Count;
and I get a failure on the wiaMgr.Devices call. The logitec web cam that I have functions fine with this call.
Anyone else trying to program these cams? All I want to do is get a image from the camera programmatically.
In windows XP I get the device appearing in the Device manager as a Imaging device, but it does not appear int the cameras and scanners list in the control panel. What is the deal, do I need some special drivers, does the cam not support standard access?
Please help,
Jeff

  • Live cam voice & msn messenger

I bought creative live cam voice and I cannot get it to work with WINDOWS LIVE MESSENGER as it always crashes and gives the error message "the program has stopped working". Im using vista 64 bit and all the latest drivers.
I did get it working for a short while with MSN 7.5 but microsoft now prevent that version being used and when you try and install it windows insists on downloading live messenger instead.

  • Live Cam Voice requires restart after system sleep under Vista

I have attached my Live Cam Voice to my brandnew Vaio Notebook which runs Windows Vista Home Premium and installed the latest drivers from the Creative website. The cam works fine, until I put the laptop to sleep mode and waking it up again. After waking the PC up, the cam is not recognized anymore and I need to restart the computer.
Anybody experienced similar problems and (hopefully) has a solution? Thx.

Did you ever solve this problem? I have a similar problem on my desk top running Vista Home. I couldn't get the Vista driver (download from this wesite) to load so resorted to trying the XP dri've. This seemed to work until Vista put the machine into "Sleep" mode. After coming out of Sleep mode I eith have to restart the computer or disconnect and reconnect the webcam.

  • Live cam voice ......errr Help please

    HI all,
I wish i never uninstalled my web cam....never had it working since.
I;ll put you all in the picture....Dell, Win XP Pro, SP3, and trying to install Live cam voice.....
Unfortuantely i think i have misalid !! the main CD it came with.
I have installed the drivers ( the most up to date ones 1.02.08.0710 ) and application package on the creative web site for XP.
The application seems to freeze, the web cam works, but when it tries to install the drivers, it halts for ages on the wdmaud.drv to c:\windows\system32.....is trying to install that driver section for over an hour now, if i disconnect the usb end ( which i will do now, it says its installed ok and finished ) but not not recognise the audio section. It shows up ok and fine on the video web cam, and also as i mention above the application seems to freeze adhock.
Advice given from ireland on the phone,
    1) try tips from website ....like shut down anti virus and firewall etc ...done that no use !
    2) uninstall, install the files from the CD
    3) uninstall.... install from the web app and drivers ( which i have already done )
    4) try from another PC...i have not got another PC!!!!!
Does anybody have any other tips...please help

Yeah, I hear ya! There is such a tremendous delay between sound and video that it looks like a bad kung-fu dub :womansad: I bought 5 of them for may office and they are horribly poorly synched. What's up?

  • Creative live cam voice help please

    Help please,
We are using the "live cam voice" model, with our computer (Vista 32bit), that appears to work OK, but after a few minutes we get the BSOD! We have tried un installing and re-installing drivers without any effect.Has anyone had this problem and if so how did you fix it.
    Regards,
    Arthur

Thanks for your response. I have tried 3 ports so far, all with the same outcome. One of my sons had it happen to him on another computer (XP SP2) using this webcam . As to programmes open at the same time, I am not computer literate and have no idea what programmes were running on each occasion. We use the webcam for Skype and apart from that I may also have IE open and perhaps Outlook Express. Over and above those CS4 sometimes.
If I cannot resolve this, can any one suggest another webcam please.
    Regards,
    Arthur

  • Live Cam Voice OR wireless connection; not both

My new Live! Cam Voice blocks my wireless Internet connection. The Webcam works fine for taking photos and making little videos. But if I'm online, and plug the Webcam into a USB port, my connection is cut and I cannot restore it. Unplug the Webcam and sometimes the connection comes back, or if not I have to restart my computer, and it comes back then.
A previous Logitech Webcam worked perfectly.
    Any ideas?

Below was copied from a post by: cjasonwilson on this forum and Worked on my live!cam voice product.
    ***Note***
When I followed the direction on this I found only:
LowerFilters value inthe file - I deleted that and all is well in wonder land!
Thanks to Cjasonwilson for some great info, the only thing to work after 3 calls to creative, gatway and one of my buddies dack in FL. Thanks Again!
I found a fix that worked for me and I hope it works for anyone else experiencing the same issue. I had to Manually delete the UpperFilters and LowerFilters registry values.
To Manually delete the UpperFilters and LowerFilters registry values, follow these steps:
    1. Start Registry Editor (Regedit.exe).
START > RUN > (Type) REGEDIT (and hit ENTER)
    2. Locate the UpperFilters and LowerFilters value under the following key in the registry
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\{6BDDFC6-80F-D0-BEC7-08002BE2092F}
    3. On the Edit menu, click Delete, and then click OK.
NEXT: I went to my Device Manager in Windows XP > IMAGING DEVICES > CREATIVE WEBCAM LIVE! ULTRA then right mouseclicked and chose DISABLE. I Then Right mouse clicked again and chose ENABLE. Then Wallah! My webcam led cam on and the darn thing started working again.
HOW I DISCOVERED WHAT TO DO
I came across a link to a similar problem regarding a CD-Rom Driver install issue returning Error Code 9. This was the same error code that I recieved when trying to re-install my webcam drivers. So I poked around the registry near a similar path (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contr ol\Class\) as mentioned in the article found at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/34060/EN-US/ until I ran across an entry that said Imaging Devices in it.

  • Live Cam Voice on HP DV8305 -- Video image very slow

I installed Live! Cam Voice on my HP DV8305 succussfully, it works, but the video image is very slow. it needs about 30sec to capture a frame, sometime just stucked. I changed the Display Adaptive Driver, used differrent USB IF, checked my CPU and Memery usage, my HD space, use differrent IM -- skype, MSN, .... Any one can help?

As further information, the issue seems to be with the exposure setting. When I turn auto exposure off, then set exposure down as low as it will go, the picture darkens, but the frame rate goes up. I don't have this problem with my Logitech QuickCam Orbit -- I'm not sure if the problem is with the firmware, or if the CMOS sensor in the Live! Cam Voice is just smaller.

  • Live!cam Voice bad sound quality

I bought a live cam voice two days ago and have had to get it exchanged already due to the appalling sound and picture quality. The original cam would not allow over 640x480 resolution for video, the picture was dark and muddy, the exposure control did not work at all and the sound was dreadful. The exchange cam works perfectly ie 280x960 resolution, picture bright and clear, exposure works fine however the sound is no better. I have to use my headset/microphone for anybody to hear me on skype and if I use it for video capture the sound is distant, dull and overlaid by a constant succession of clicks and pops.
This is what people report hearing when I talk to them online. The camera is sold as having "unrivalled audio and video fidelity".Video yes (after exchange) audio definately not. I hope I will not have to get the second cam exchanged as if I do I will not be walking out with a Creative product. I have thoroughly checked my settings and carefully read the instructions and forum regarding this and have found no resolve. Anybody out there with the same issue?

I bought the Live! Cam Voice a few days ago and have been suffering from sound problems too when recording. The sound distortion is almost electrical/mechanical in nature but disappears when the video auto-balances and becomes brighter ?!?! IT also disappeared when connected via a USB . hub, although the system then griped that the port wasn't sufficiently fast.
I would consider swapping my main USB cable for the gold plated variety, to ensure no signals are encroaching on the port, but this may be overkill.
These findings would suggest a software issue rather than hardware.
Note. Do not install the voice driver update from Aug 2006, seems to make things noticeably worse!

  • Live! Cam Voice BETA Drivers and Widows Vista

I have just installed the BETA drivers for Live! Cam Voice and everything seems to have worked except that there appears to be a conflict with Microsoft Genuine Advantage and I am told that "There is a problem with your licence so notifications will no longer appear". The Error is 0xC004D40 described as "The security processor reported a system file mismatch error. I am asked to validate the product online. Validation takes me to Micorosft Genuine Advantage (a misnomer if ever there was one) where I am told that the "copy of Windows did not pass genuine validation. Either an unauthorised change was made to Windows files or a software preogram installed on this computer is not currently compatible with Windows Vista". That would not matter too much if as a by-product. I had not been prevented from updating my installation of Windows Vista, but I was and the only way round that was to start my computer with no programs running and update in such almost clean state. Thus I counsel everyone seeking to use the BETA drivers for Live! Cam Voice to be aware of the problems that they might encounter.

  • Live! Cam Voice won't run on Windows Vista 64-bit OS

I recently upgraded my OS to Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit system. I downloaded the beta softwares (webcam driver & cam center) for my Creative Live! Cam Voice & everything looks fine until I run the Creative Live! Cam Center. Right after running the Cam Center & clicking Start it says initializing then my PC screen turns blue with several error message in it. My webcam also doesn't seems to work.

I am having a problem downloading to a new Windows Vista 64 machine. When I download using either IE or Firefox, the download gets to 14.7 MB and stops. Any ideas on why the download will not work?

  • Live! Cam Voice problems

Hi I'm using Windows Vista and I got a few problems about the Live! Cam Voice camera.
First I installed it, with the cable in the computer, then I read the cable shouldn't be in the computer so I uninstalled what was possible uninstalling and deleted the "Creative" directory which contained some files still. But now when I'm trying to install it I'm getting either some kind of "Setup.cpp" error, or I'm getting a "Setup.exe has stopped working". I've tried uninstalling it again but I'm still getting errors. How am I supposed to uninstall all of the installation so I can reinstall?
Also I don't get the manual of installing the Vista driver. It says something like "1. Install the package 2. Go to control>sound and change some options there". I didn't know where I should install it, so I installed it in default path and tried to open the .exe files and none of them were working. Are they supposed to be working?

Ok, I waited one day and now the setup is working, so now I inserted the cam when it told me to. But I still need to install the vista drivers, else it's telling me "No supported Live! Cam detected. Please plug in to continue...". How do I run the exe files and where should I extract the exe files? Or do I need to run them at all? Help please:S I'm using Vista 32 bit

  • Live! Cam Voice Shuts Down When Using Motion Detection Feature

I'm running XP Media Center 2002.
I just installed Live! Cam Voice. Started using it and is was fine out of the box. I updated the drivers and i also decided to update the drivers for my SoundBlaster Audigy 2 ZS.
The problem only seemed to occur when using the Motion Detection. Shortly after using it, I'd get a Microsoft error prompting the WebCam Center to shut down.
First I uninstalled the software and reinstalled it using the original drivers on the supplied disk. I still had the problem. So i rolled back the drivers on my sound card. That seems to have fixed the problem... Thought you'd want to know.
To be clear the Cam driver I'm using is .0.8.206. I believe this is the one that came w/ the install disk. Hope this helps anyone else who's experienced similar problems.....

I have the same problem. I only get 6-7 fps max. I've never seen anything above 0 fps which is a disgrace. My computer is and Athlon64 X2 4800 with 2GB RAM so it's nothing to do with spec. This behaviour was the same in driver version .0.8 as well as the latest one... .0.02 or something.
Also, since the last driver update, the whitebalance and focus when on automatic is dreadful. I'm not impressed.
