Live drive CT4860 insta

A friend of mine gave me a Li've Dri've model CT4860, I have no idea how to hook it up. I have a SB li've 24bit card in my pc. He told me all I have to do is hook up a 4 pin cd dri've cable from it to my SB card. Anyone know about this?
thanx

Dear Woodstock,
You do not need a driver for the 4860 Li've! Dri've, this unit functions as a break-out box, totally at hardware level.
Ok- nothing I read up til now indicated as much- I thought there were updates available etc for it since it has it's own chip on it's own card etc.
The 4760 Li've! Platinum card has an I/O connector at the end that kind of resembles an IDE connector. If you got one, you can use this to connect your card to the Li've! Dri've. You will need the proper ribbon cable which should have been supplied. Nevertheless, it's not too difficult to make your own, just make sure you got the pins right. The missing wire on both the card and the Li've! Dri've acts as a guide.
Oh- well that has all been set up and everything on it works except for the SPDIF i/o which is why I thought there might be an update that would fix that problem.
Good luck, mate.
Well thank you- at least I can sleep at night knowing that I have everything up to date! Do you have this same setup yourself? If so, can I ask you a few questions about it's The manuals and help files either aren't clear, or do not cover everything. Thank you for replying- was getting quite dim. -w-

  • What is the difference between Icloud and Live Drive?

I had purchased for me seperate storage space where by i could download music/pictures to my cyper drive and my Ipad would pick it up.  Is this Icloud or Live Drive?

That is livedrive. You cannot use icloud to keep your files online unless the files are generated using iworks. But, icloud is free from apple, 5 gb worth of space. Currently usage is pretty limited, cannot compare wth livedrive, dropbox or sugarsync.

  • I want to centralize my Itunes Media library to a Mybook Live drive.

I have bought a My Book Live drive as it said I coudl run an iTunes Server.  I want to be able to have one central Itunes Media location for all my music and apps etc.  So I have moved this to the My Book live.  When I open Itunes I see all my music under the LIBRARY and under SHARED/MyBookLive.  I don't see my apps or other items?  Also if I add a new album to my music library it shows up in both on the PC I add the music from but not on any of the other PC I have in my house.  So I want to have a simple solution with all mymusic and apps etc in a single place that looks the same on each of my PC's?
    Any ideas

    Thanks for the quick reply!
No, I simply went to Itunes, Library, Music. As you mention, I can't click and drag the folder, so I click and drag a section of songs at a time, but then they are all resorted to "by artist" instead of "by title".
All I am trying to do is create space on my internal hard drive by transferring ITunes to an external hard drive (so Time Machine is not an option). Any suggestions, or is what I am trying to do not possible?

Progress (of sorts). Went for the "clean sweep installation" (again). Downloaded the latest driver pack from Creative (again). But this time, before the "clean sweep", I actually renamed a number of files in %WINNT%/System32 and %WINNT%/System32/drivers so that Windows DEFINITELY can't re-use them.
This time, the driver update was successful. I can tell that because now, when I run the RemoteCentre driver update, it actually completes (where before it kept quitting, and telling me to update my sound card drivers).
So now I'm running latest drivers, plus am running latest version of Remote Centre. Now, on restart, Remote Centre starts at least (previously it'd just give me an error saying it can't find the remote control receiver).
Problem is that even though it's now starting and showing the remote control GUI on screen, after it starts I can't do anything with it. The remote control GUI disappears and I can't get it back. If I right-click on the RemoteCentre icon in the systray and choose "Configure RemoteCentre" it says........
"Unable to detect remote control receiver - please check to see if it is installed correctly".
I'm really at a bit of a loss now I don't have sufficient free hardare to build a Win98 machine to confirm that the hardware works and as far as I can tell that is the only way I can be certain whether it is dead or not. It definitely worked fine in Win98 - can't remember if I had it running in Win2k or not, though.
If anyone has any more ideas on how I can test the thing, please let me know. For example - when I remove the covers for SPDIF connectors, I can't see any lights - should I be able to see a red light to indicate the device has power, or is that a red herring?
Please help I promised a friend I'd rip his tape to CD weeks ago now. I haven't got a suitable cable to convert RCA jacks into regular "headphone"-style stereo jacks, and so can't plug into the card itself. **bleep** **bleep** **bleep**

  • XP Service Pack 3 cripples live drive

% Once I upgrade to service pack 3 my li've dri've no longer works.
I have tried reinstalling the creative drivers, but Windows seems to re-install broken drivers.
After upgrading to service pack 3 none of my li've dri've inputs (mic/line2) show up in the windows or creative mixer.
    Please help!

)Re: XP Service Pack 3 cripples li've dri've? Dear fellow user:
I may be reaching a bit but I would like you to try something that is very simple. Go to your Creative software and verify in each program that your I/O dri've cannot be seen. Then shutdown the machine. UNPLUG THE i/o dri've with power and the ribbon cable. Restart the machine. Verify again that you have or do not have access to any of the features. (I know this sounds silly)? Then shutdown the machine and reconnect everything. This is similar to removing a device and letting windows redetect it. I have a very old (*998*) Creative Li've Dri've (precursor to the I/O dri'ves) that was not recognized in Windows XP nor Vista. Then I shutdown and replugged everything and rebooted and it was there again. This may sound funny I know, but it almost sounds like Windows just has not picked up the Li've Dri've on this pass. It COULD BE? a service pack 3 issue, but again please give my answer a try. If that does not work, reinstall your driver suite once on top of the Service pack 3 system again. Service packs are massi've updates to your system and it takes a bit to get everything refreshed.

  • Audigy2 live drive

Does the Audigy 2 Li've Dri've put an extra load on the pci bus when connected?
I have an Asrock 4core Dual Sata2 motherboard with an Intel E6600 Core 2 due and 2 gigs DDR2.
When the li've dri've is connected my system (xp home sp3) will crash ( randomly ). When the Li've Dri've is disconnected, the system is stable. I previously had the sound card running in other systems with no problems ( seemingly ).
When the Li've dri've is connected, dropping ram settings lower ( nothing is overclocked ) will help delay crashes but will not stop them completely.

I've been playing around a bit with some source code i found.
The actual soundblaster 6 emulation is performed by creative's own dos emulation drivers for Audigy cards. The emulation 'engine' works on a audigy2 but you don't get any sound because the output routing is diffirent.
That's where the Audigy2.exe patch i found comes in, it reroutes correctly, it isnt a driver, just a program that loads - routes the outputs - and exits and it works for the rear analog outputs.
Funny thing is, i found the sourcecode for this Audigy2 program and it includes code to enable the li'vedri've headphone outputs - but my headphones stay silent
The registers this program manipulates to enable those headphones are the same as those i find in some opensource audigy2 drivers for linux ...
perhaps diffirent versions of audigy2 use diffirent outputs for the headphones ?
It would b nice if any could tell me to wich digital output the li've headphones are connected to.Message Edited by Exo on 04-7-2006 09:37 AM

  • SOUND BLASTER LIVE DRIVER FOR WINDOWS

I have sound blaster li've card Model No. CT4830 and Sl No. M4830030095. I need driver for this card.

    Hi,
See if you could download the driver here.
    Good luck.

  • Soundblaster Live Driver is

    Hello,
I have a Soundblaster Li've Card which I inherited from my brother. As for the version, I think it is just the original. I cannot be sure because I cannot access the card to get info about it. The issue I am having prevents it.
The issue is this: First off I noticed a reverb effect, I have had this before, and in the past just accessed the card thru my start menu (XP is my OS BTW) and changed the settings on the card. I tried to do that this time, and got an error saying "AudioHQU- Cannot initialize audio driver. Reinstall audio driver."
I am not sure how to do that as the only options I can find are to either update the driver or roll it back.
I tried to update the driver patch from the site, I got the file successfully, and ran it directly, but it said it could not find the hardware. Then I tried to roll it back and that did not work either. I also ran a diagnostic using the Creative software on my start menu. The results found a failure on: Mixer Driver, Sound Font Setting, and Mixer Settings Check.
I am not sure what to do to make all of this pan out. I am not an idiot, but not an expert either. I updated the driver a few months ago which seems to have caused this mess, but now I seem to not be able to go forward OR back.
If someone could help me I would appreciate it a lot. Though I believe the product is out of warranty, it is still a perfectly functional card, other than the reverb and driver issue.
    Thanks!

    Alastor,
Try using Li'veDrvUni-Pack(ENG).exe driver for the sound card.
You can download this driver from http://us.creative.com/support/downloads/ and do a search for the filename.

  • Installing live drive with

Help!... I am trying to install my sound blaster li've platinum with front bay on to an XP professional PC.....and can i get the thing to work!!! (no is the polite answer). I have downloaded what looks like the correct path type thingy but it just says my hardware isn;t installed properly but that is the whole problem!!! any ideas please help.....i'm a music teacher and my classes are missing out!!!! awwww bless
    Thanks

Create a folder on the desktop name li've.
open the driver pack with winrar and then extract entire contents to said folder.
Remove the card from the computer and reboot.
Shutdown computer and put the card in PCI slot 4, or 3.
Reboot and when windows detects the card to install drivers point it to the folder on the desktop and hopefully it should find them.
Ok, give that a try to start with.

  • What Live Drive do I ha

The question really is what li've dri've is everyone talking about?
Since being on the forum only a couple weeks, I've been getting crossed messages about performance and trouble shooting for my card. However, it seems a lot of posts use the same terminology and I'm not sure what card is really being discussed.
For example, I have the CT4760 Li've card and the dri've is the CT4860. This is the Soundblaster Li've, the Soundblaster Li've 5., or what?
Okay, the next question is what is everyone else is talking about.
    Thanks
    DD

    Dora
The Sound Blaster Li've CT4760 is referred to as the Sound Blaster Li've Platinum (if you go to the downloads page you can get an owner's manual by choosing that model denomination). The CT4860 is usually referred to as the Li've Dri've I. Although to my knowledge there are no model name markings on the front the difference between the 4860 and the Li've Dri've II is that the latter has optical I/Os.
Regarding what everyone else is talking about: I haven't the foggiest notion. You might have to do a survey.:smileyvery-happy:

  • Live drive ir drivers

first off, this site takes forever to load...secondly, where do i find drivers for this?! i have the original installation cd, but it is for win98. i have winxp. i need the drivers, and other stuff like audiohq. when i go to the driver support page, all i get is "upgrade drivers", where i must have the orignal installed. i need standalone drivers and the supporting programs for xp!!!! >:| >:|

    Voodew42,
You need the Li'veDrvUniPack for Windows XP. Go to the download page and in the search section type in Li'veDrvUni and it will take you directly to it. I would suggest installing from the CD first and when Windows warns you that it was not for XP continue. Run the install and then reboot. Once it reboots run the Li'veDrvUniPack. This will replace the drivers and applications for the Li've! You may also want to download the updates to Playcenter and Creative Recorder.
The Li'veDrvUniPack is a stand alone update, but in order to have all the programs from the original install you need to use the CD.

  • Live Drive II help please

    Li've Dri've II help pleases I bought a SB Li've 5. and a Li've Dri've II several years ago.
I recently tried to add the LD II to my current system.
I am using a Audigy 2 Gamer ZS in my system.
I can not seem to get the LD II to work (I'm trying to get audio imported through the RCA jacks to rip to MP3 from vinyl).
I think my problem is that I am missing the Li'veWare disk that originally came with the LD.
I've looked everywhere on the creative site and I can not find Li'veWare to download. Nor can I find anywhere to even call a tech support number to talk to creative about getting another disk containing the Li'veWare drivers.
I am running WinXP and could use any help or suggestions, since I'd really love to convert some of my old albums to MP3 so that I can listen to them again.
    Thanks,
    Paul

    KwanTai,
The Li've! Dri've II is not compatible with the Audigy 2. Changes in the card required that changes be made to the interface between the card and dri've.

  • Sound blaster live with live drive XP install h

Does anyone know how I can get my sound blaster li've platinium with li've dri've setup to work under XP? I have tried almost everything, ran the updated which I downloaded from this site and nothing. The li've dri've unit gets no sound out of the headphone port, not even a hiss. I can get sound if I connect directly to the ports on the card, but that defeats the purpose. Under 98 this thing rocked, but it has never worked under XP.
    Thanks in advance....

Provided you installed the card and it's up and running, it should work. Double-check the internal connections to make sure nothing's come loose. There should be a flat cable going from the soundcard to the dri've, and a small (floppy type) power connector going to the dri've.
Remove the little cover on the optical output to check for power, if the light shines there then there should be power going to the dri've.

  • Will the live drive from an Audigy work with the Live MP3+ 5.1

i have a li've MP3+ 5., and borrowed a friends audigy plat, but seeing as he will want the card back soon, i was wondering if i could install my MP3+, and connect his li've dri've to it, so when he wants the card back, i just have to remove the li've dri've, will this work ?

i've looked at the card, and it does have the same connection on it for the ide-type ribbon cable as the audigy does.. even has the 2 missing pins on it to make the connector split in 2 ...
