Live encoding and streaming
Hi,
I have a video source (avi) that I need to encode into a
format which FMS can then broadcast live. To clarify, the encoding
and broadcasting needs to be simultaneous - I cant wait for the
encoding to finish. I need to encode the avi into a stream and
broadcast the stream while the encoding is ongoing.
What are my options here? Can the Flash Media Encoder do
this? Can I use FFMpeg to convert to flv and pipe the result into
FMS for broadcast? If anyone could help, I would really appreciate
it!

Proxy between Flash Media Live Encoder and Adobe Media Server
ciao,
I encode from a pc with Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder to a server with Adobe Media Server. And this configuration works well.
The actual configuration is:
1) computer A (es: 192.168.1.5 - gw 192.168.1.254) point to computer B
with FMS url: rtmp://COMPUTER_B_WAN_IP/live and StreamName
test?user=useruser&password=userpassword
2) computer B (es: 210.22.11.134) with Adobe Media Server
But now I need to encode from Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder (computer A) to a pc (computer P) and then redirect the rtmp stream to the Adobe Media Server (computer B). Those 3 computers have different lan configurations. If I use rtmpsuck (http://rtmpdump.mplayerhq.hu/) on computer P, can I use it like proxy to redirect the computer A rtmp flow to computer B?
I suppose:
1) computer A (es: 192.168.1.5 - gw 192.168.1.254) point to computer P with FMS url: rtmp://COMPUTER_P_WAN_IP/live and StreamName test?user=useruser&password=userpassword
2) on computer P (es: 10.10.10.8 - gw 10.10.10.254) I install
rtmpsuck, I open port 1935 on his firewall and I configure iptables
like: iptables -t nat -A PREROUTING -p tcp --dport 1935 -j DNAT
--to-destination COMPUTER_B_WAN_IP:1935
3) on computer B I do nothing.
Now I have 3 questions:
1- Can it works?
2- On computer P (the proxy) I must install rtmpsuck and rtmpsrv or I can install only rtmpsuck? I don't necessary need to record the stream
3- Is there another way to do this? Is there another software to redirect the stream?

Can flash media live encoder feed stream to remote adobe media server installed on other machine?
Hi All,
i have installed Flash Media Live Encoder 3.2 on my one machine xxx and AMS version 5 on another machine yyy.
i am trying to configure FMLE for ams server URL - i.e. stream to flash media server option on FMLE. I have generated FMS URL as "rtmp://yyy/live" and clicked "connect" to. Its not getting connected to it.
please find attachment for error.
is there any restriction that our AMS should be on same machine wehere we have installed flash media live encoder ??

My requirement is to stream RTMP from Flash Media Live Encoder which is installed on my machine(source) and receive RTMP stream on Adobe Media Server which is installed on another machine.
I am unable to connect to "rtmp://<"IP Address of Adobe Media Server installed system">/live on AMS installed machine.

Flash Media Live Encoder and Wowza
Hi,
I’m having a hard time deciphering “Flash Media Live Encoder 3.2“ license.
Is it permissible to use a different server than “Adobe Flash Media Streaming Server 4” - A.K.A Wowza - to stream the content produced by “Flash Media Live Encoder 3.2”?

Alain1. I've never seen an onPlayStatus call that has more than one argument. Is this a common case? Something Wowza-specific? A bug in the server script? There's no workaround at the framework level (short of changing the signature of NetStreamSwitchManager.onPlayStatus). If you think this is a common case with Wowza, can you file a bug here? https://bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/FM
2. MediaPlayer dispatches events for playStateChange and mediaPlayerStateChange. You could listen for the former to determine when it enters the playing state, or the latter to follow the general state transitions (which typically go uninitialized, loading, ready, buffering, playing). -
Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder and static image or recorded video?
Is it possible to put a static image or a recorded video (instead of a live video feed) into Flash Media Live Encoder to air while broadcasting a live radio show online?

When will Flash Media Live Encoder be available on Mac OS X? It is ridiculous that it isn't yet.
Seriously though, who in the media industry is seriously working with Windows?
Is there a concrete statement on this from Adobe?

Flash Media Live Encoder and hard drive cameras
Does anyone have any idea how to get Flash Media Live Encoder to recognize a hard drive camera as a camera and not a hard drive????
I'm using an analog breakout box, that 'converts' the camera's Y/C signal and sends video instead of data thru the firewire. Then FMLE recognize the firewire input as a video source.

Flash Media Live Encoder and 5 webcams
Hi,
Quick question - I need to stream live video from 5 webcams
to the server. It's not a problem when I have just one, but don't
have a clue how to do it with 5 different ones? I need to record
flv at the same time as well.
Can I do it using one computer or would I need to have
different software ? I know there is a way to control streams using
command line - will that help?
What kind of machine I should get for that job? It would be
standard 320x240 stream, no sound.

Flash Media Live Encoder and AAC
This is sort of a follow up to my previous post, asking about streaming through FMS to Apple and Android.
Android and Blackberry devices require that the audio component of video streams be encoded using AAC. Right now I'm telling my customers to buy the MainConcept AAC plugin, or to buy VidBlaster or Wirecast. Can anyone from Adobe comment on when Adobe might release a version of FMLE that includes AAC?I couldn't get that point earlier. Sorry for that.
FMLE uses the MainConcept stuff for AAC and H264 video. I am not sure of the full plans yet, but as of now we can say FMLE is not having (which you can imply as, not going to have) in buit encoders for AAC. -
Live encode a MMS stream to FMS2
Hello,
I got some live audio streams encoded using Windows Media
Server (MMS streams).
I whant to use FMS2 to redistribute theses streams to flash
clients.
Is there a way to live encode MMS stream and to load them in
FMS (like with Flash Media Encoder) ?

codec......I know of no way to do this without paying huge
liscensing fee ........i would instead convert the MMS codec into
and MP3 codec using MMFPEG or Audacity. -
Flash media live encoder crashes with Webcammax
I want to stream a video, but everytime i hit the Start button the FMLE crashes. I cant also see a preview or output picture

Flash Media Live Encoder Frame Rate Really LOW
When I try to use Flash Media Live Encoder to stream to Twitch it works but frame rate drops significantly. I will have it set at 30 or 60 fps and on an average it streams at around 3 to 5. Can anybody help me out with this? It's really frustrating and is making it a lot harder for my streaming channel to expand. Thanks: http://www.twitch.tv/thesykehd

H264 live encoding in Flash Player 11 slowly?
Hi,
I am using the new Flash Player 11 ability to encode H264 video within the Flash Player. I am streaming the webcam via RTMP to a FMS. I am using the following settings:
H.264 Baseline
Level 5.1
Keyframe freq. 5 seconds
25 FPS
Input size: 1280 x 720 (720p)
Output size: 1280 x 720 (720p)
Bit Rate: 1000Kbps
When I am using these settings with FMLE 3.2, the final stream plays very fluent with a good amount of FPS. If I am using Flash Player 11 for the encoding job instead, the final video is not as fluent as before and achieves less FPS (maybe 5 FPS).
So the question is: is Flash Player 11 not as good as FMLE 3.2 or am I missing some configuration? FP11 should be capable of encoding and streaming a fluent 720p stream, shouldn't it?

MalteAddition: I've found out that the incoming bandwith is very constant when streaming and encoding from FMLE. It stays relatively constant around 1500 kbps:
When I am using the Flash Player 11 for encoding and streaming the incoming bandwith looks like the rocky mountains. The incoming bandwith jumps between 1000 and 6000 kbps during the whole stream:
That is definitely the reason why it "stutters" when using Flash Player 11. But I have no idea what I am doing wrong.
I am using these encoding settings for FP11 ...

Flash Media Live Encoder Authentication Add-In not working
I have installed the Authentication Add-In on a FMS 3.5.5 Development version, running Windows 2008 Server. I can easily get to the users.exe command prompt and add users with no problem. BUT, when I open the Flash Media Live Encoder and go to enter a username/password when connecting to the server, I keep getting "User Not Found". I've went back several times using users.exe and tested for my user credentials and it always states that the user is there. Can some please tell me what I am doing wrong here?

Media server and Media live encoder running, but how do I view my stream?
Ok. This is the first time I have ever used these two programs. I got the Media server running and connected and the Media live encoder streaming and connected to the server. I have not been able to test the stream to see if it is working correctly however, judging by the logs, it seems to be working. What I really want to know is the simplest instructions on how to view the stream from outside of my network, as it is broadcasting over the net. I am trying to do a live stream.
With just these two programs running is there a link I can go to that it will automatically play the stream back?
What exactly to I need to do now to be able to give someone my link over the net so they can watch the stream?
Do I actually need a server to put the /applications/live folder onto?

To view the stream you need a client. As started in the Flash Media Server Development Guide:
You can use any of the following clients to play video streamed from the live service:
Flash Media Server sample video player (RootInstall/samples/videoPlayer)
Flash FLVPlayback component (fl.video.FLVPlayback)
Flex VideoDisplay component (mx.controls.VideoDisplay)
Any custom-built application that runs in Flash Player, AIR, or Flash Lite 3
