  • Live media encoder not recognizing my camera

I am working on a MacBook Pro with a Sony PMW-EX3 HD camera connected through iLink with a Firewire 800.  My iMovie recognizes the camera, so I know it is not the computer.  However, in Live Media Encoder 3,1, I am not allowed to choose my Sony camera for input.  It is like Live Media Encoder does not recognize the camera.
    Any ideas?

I'm sure you checked this but just in case...
Is the camera on or in the mode to output to firewire when you have it connected to FMLE?  I also have experienced devices not showing up when connected when the device is not on or sending out a picture.  They also don't show up usually when you connect it or turn it on when FMLE is already running (which can be fixed by closing it and restarting the program).

  • Can Adobe Live Media Encoder encode with Left audio only?

    Hi all,
I have a live feed video that contain dual audio (left = Englisg, right = Chinese).
Can i use Adobe Live Media Encoder to encode with English audio mono ONLY so that FMS can stream it to user with left&right = English audio?
    Thank you.

Are you  talking about Adobe media Live encoder and "Adobe media Server"...Just can publish from "Adobe media Live encoder"  and publish to "Adobe media server"..
This is a adobe media server forum...and your question it seems lies in the domain of encoders.

  • Adobe Flash Live Media Encoder

    Hi,
I'm having a situation with Adobe Flash Live Media Encoder 3.2:
Please enter Primary URL in rtmp[t]://hostname:[portno]/applicationpath  format. Special characters in URL are not allowed.
URL is provided by a third party website, but it accomplishes with this parameters, How can I get this working?
    Thanks in advance.

FMLE will work with all devices which have direct show based drivers and give data in raw format. Here is a list of devices which have been tested and certified with FMLE - http://www.adobe.com/support/documentation/en/flashmediaencoder/FMLE_DeviceMatrix3.0.pdf

  • Capture Card for Flash Live Media Encoder

    Hello,
I need help finding the best capture card for the flash live media encoder. Any suggestions?

The problem you have is that your game and FMLE are competing for CPU time.  Running FMLE is very CPU-intensive because of the work of encoding video.  When FMLE consumes all your CPU there is nothing left to run the game.  Instead of cropping I would suggest that you change your monitor resolution to 1280x720 (this is still HD, just not 1080 "full HD").  Increasing the screen size then cropping it back down is just another task you are throwing at the CPU that it can't cope with.

  • Is the Flash Live Media Encoder 3.2 compatible with MAC Yosemite?

I am trying to download the Flash Live Media Encoder 3.2. I can download the file but when I try to open it, I get an error message that says "Image not recognized."
Is this media encoder compatible with Mac OS X Yosemite (10.10.2)? If not, are there any work arounds?
    Thanks for your help!

    Hi Aaron,
Thread on Apple Support Communities:  https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3758993
As per the above thread, it would generally happen if the file is corrupt or in case of an unsuccessful download. I would appreciate if you could attempt another download and see if it helps. Meanwhile, I shall try researching at my end for a conclusive answer.

  • Will Flash Live Media Encoder ever use DirectX?

Since Flash Media Encoder is only for windows, why use an
outdated API like video for windows? Using that cuts out so many
resolutions supported by newer cameras, and thus limits the HD
    capabilities of the encoder.
I'm curious if anyone from adobe will chime in here.

Probably not. Programs would normally compete for such a resource, not share it.

  • Live Captioning from Line 21 to onCaptionInfo with Live Media Encoder 3.2

We are a government broadcast facility charged with broadcasting live meetings via the internet. We need to upgrade our available video to provide Flash, but everything needs to be captioned. Our live captions are done via a caption encoder that embeds on Line 21. We currently are SD only and don't caption HD live. My research indicates that for closed captioning in a flash environment, the captions need to be embeded in the onCaptionInfo metadata. It appears that the Flash Media Server supports this, but I don't see any way to tell the Adobe software encoder to do this.
I'm currently testing with Brightcove as a CDN, and they do support onCaptionInfo in their player. If the data is present, a CC button will appear in their player. So far in my tests, I haven't been able to provide this metadata for the player to interpret. I've even tried shifting lines through a frame sync on the fly anywhere from -4 to +4 to no avail.
Am I missing something? Can the Adobe encoding software even do this? Does anyone know how to get Line 21 caption data passed to onCaptionInfo? I can see that line 21 is being passed through but apparently the flash players don't know what to do with it.
    Thanks.

As far as i know onacptioninfo needs to enabled on the server as stated on the following link
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/adobemediaserver/devguide/WS5262178513756206232b27a91396cda04c 9-8000.html
I am not sure on how it works on live streaming but on VOD the closed captioned are embeded into mp4 with software such as captionmaker for adobe media server to stream it later on.
I believe i read that the closed caption are imputed via adobe media live encoder, but i am not sure about it....
I hope it helps and i would like to know how it gets done once you find out!

  • Live Media  Encoder Windows vs Mac OSX performance?

    Hi all,
We've got LME 3.1 set up on our Intel Core 2 Duo OSX Snow leopard machine and it's working, but we're dropping a few frames per second. We're working through the issues, but I am curious if OSX could be the cause of some problems. I noticed here:
    http://www.adobe.com/products/flashmediaserver/flashmediaencoder/systemreqs/
that the system requirements seem a lot steeper for OSX than Windows.
Does anyone know if OSX does in fact perform worse than Windows?
Thanks in advance for any help / info!
    Steve

Are these Input Frame drops or Output Frame drops. Which Video codec you are using. Can you check
CPU usageof FMLE from Activity monitor and let me know.

  • Problem when streaming with the CLI flash media encoder 2.5

I have a problem when streaming with Flash Media Encoder 2.5. When I run the GUI, everything works, but when I use the commandline with the same profile I have created using the GUI, it says it can't connect to the server.
I have to use this version of the encoder, because the other is not working with the server, and I have to create a program to remotely control the flash media encoder, so I have to use the CLI. What can i do to go over this problem?
Any help would be really appreciated. Thankyou.

    First of all, thankyou.
There is no authentication needed. I can't use Flash Live Media Encoder 3 because it is not supported by the people which manages the server i have to connect to.
In fact, I don't know why they dont support it, but that is the way it is.
Through the GUI, i connect directly and without problems, without user/pass.
    Thankyou again.

  • Live text template render issue when using Media Encoder?

I'm running into flash frames with Media Encoder exports of Premiere sequences using the live text templates.
Unfortunately, AME doesn't flag it as an error, so the render completes without any issues in the render log and the only way to find it is to watch the rendered file.
I have tried different combinations of having After Effects open or closed, with the live text template comp open or closed; I can't consistently reproduce the problem with any certainty and so am having trouble pinpointing the source.
My only hypotheses so far are that:
The glitches seem to be happening in the dynamic link between AME and PP, not AE and PP. The live text will pop back to the duplicated comp's text for one frame. Video playing simultaneously doesn't pop.
In other words, the AE text template said: "name here". In PP it was edited to say "John Doe", then that comp was duplicated and edited to say "Bob Smith". Everything looks fine in PP. There are no keys on the source text in AE (I have noticed that if there are keys on the source text in AE, the text will pop back to the original AE text at that key in PP).
When rendered out of AME, halfway through Bob Smith's title, it will read "John Doe" for a single frame, then pop back to being Bob.
I've only had this happen so far with AME renders. The renders out of PP haven't given me any issues so far.
It might happen more frequently on longer segments? If a title is up for 45 sec instead of 10 sec, it may be more likely to pop.
The issue seems to occur more often in batch renders out of AME (happened to 3 of 5 files rendered in a batch, AME 2014.1) and/or with unrelated AE comps open (on a single render from AME 2014.2)
Again, it doesn't happen every time or to the same title, or in the same spot. Files are being rendered to ProRes 422 HQ. Unchecked "Use Previews" in AME.
Would be nice to get to the bottom of what's happening so I can recommend something to the editors when I hand off these live text templates to them.
I realize that the live text is a new feature as of 2014.1, but haven't found anyone else talking about this. Would love if this was a very simple fix that I'm missing.
I was able to reproduce the error on 2 different machines, with similar specs:
    Premiere CC 2014.1 and 2014.2
Media Encoder CC 2014.1 and 2014.2
    Mac tower 2010
    2x 6-core Intel Xeon

  • Can any one tell me when i use adobe flash media encoder how can i see my live vidoes on flash media

can any one tell me when i use adobe flash media encoder how can i see my live vidoes on flash media server . thnx

Flash Player version 10.1.102.64 is the last version available to PPC Mac users. However, this Flash version won't work for many videos on Facebook, YouTube and other sites. Adobe's latest version, 10.2.x or later, is only for Intel Macs. Adobe will not provide a newer Flash version for PPC Macs.
The message requesting that you download Adobe Flash Player takes you to Flash Player requiring an Intel processor. Doesn't work on a PowerPC processor. I found a hack, installed it & it works with Firefox, TenFourFox & Safari.
Download this http://www.steelbin.com/FPforFBPPC.zip to your desktop, unzip it, and replace the current Flash Player plug-in which is in your main/Library/Internet Plug-Ins folder, (not the user Library). Save the old one just in case this one doesn't work.

  • Flash Media Encoder Live Problem

FME locks up good !  FME freezes . FME Stops sending streaming audio .
// I hope this is posted in the correct forum.
I'm using Adobe Flash Media Encoder Live 3.0.1.5963 .
    Windows XP Pro SP 3
Pentium 4 3.06 ghz 'dual core' cpu
    1.5 GB rambus 800 mhz
    MP3
    44,100
    192kbps
    stereo
When streaming audio, FME locks up good and stops sending audio, usually after 8 minutes.
I have to force down my machine with the reset button.
I even tried with no video. Same problem.

    Update:
The same problem exists in Flash Media Encoder version
    1.0.1.460.

  • User Auth. for Live Streaming with Media Encoder 2.5 and FMSS

    Hi,
i am currently thinking of buying the Flash Media STREAMING
Server (~995 $) and in order to see if this is the right choice, i
also take a look at the Wowza Media Server for comparison.
I want to support Live Streaming from Events with Flash Media
Encoder 2.5 and for this i'll need a user authentification for
giving access to special publishing Users only. Wowza Media Server
supports a User Authentification by parsing the connecting URL,
witch is delivered by the Media Encoder on starting a Connection,
and therefor grants or denies access to the publishing function.
Only Users with the right Access Persmissions, which is written
trough a password and the onPublish Comand in the url, can publish
Live Streams. Everyone can watch the Live Stream, if no restriction
to the onConnect Command was made.
The Problem in this case is, i will need seperate Application
folders for every user who should be able to start a live stream.
This would be a horrible effort...

Is there a similar way to support authorisation for starting
publishing a LiveStream to the Flash Media Streaming Server, or do
i need the Flash Media Interactive Server?
How can i restrict access to users, who should not be able to
start a live stream on my FMSS?
    Thx for your help,

Unfortunately no, there isn't. I struggled with same issue
earlier, and we were forced to purcahse the Interactive edition. As
the 'Streaming' version only runs Adobe-signed apps, there is no
way to change things that happen within the onConnect handler.
Furthermore, guys at Adobe haven't provided any possibility for
even simple access control through configuration files for built-in
apps that come along with the Streaming Server edition.
