Live Monitor Scripting Error

It appears that something in the following Microsoft Update causes a scripting error in MSI Live Monitor.
The update details are below:
813489: April 2003, Cumulative Patch for Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1
The scripting error occurs immediately after you click "Next" following the completion of the "Auto Search".
The problem began immediately after installing this MS Update and was resolved when this update was removed.

The scripting error that occurs is detailed below:
Source: Internet Explorer Script Error (window title)
Line:   56
Char:   1
Error:  Access is denied.
Code:   0
URL:    http://tw.msi.com.tw/autobios/VerChk/XSeries.asp?MSIOCXVersion=3.37.000&WorkFunction=LMonitor&WorkPath=C:Program%20FilesMSILive%20Update%202
The window has a prompt asking if you wish to continue running scripts on this page. Clicking Yes vs No both leave you with a blank MSI Live Monitor screen.
I reinstalled the MS 813489: April 2003, Cumulative Patch for Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1 to recreate the script error.

  • MSI Live Monitor Script Errors

    Since inception, I have not been able to run MSI Live Update....Despite numerous updates, I receive internet explorer script errors when initiating the program.  Sometimes this causes a hang in Windows XP.  The Internet Explorer Script Error box reads the following:  "Line 111, Char: 2, Error:  The Server Threw an Exception Code: 0, URL:file://C:program filesMSILive Update 3LmonitorLmcheck.htm".....tried changing settings w/o success inside Internet explorer.....
    Any suggestions?????
    Thanks in Advance!  ?(

    Alternatively you could download the bios from here:
    http://www.msi.com/support/mb/FM2-A55M-E33.html#down-bios
    That should allow you to download it and flash it via the BIOS I believe.

  • An error occcurred on line 105 while executing script 'MOM Backward Compatibility Service State Monitoring Script"

    We've been getting the following error for some time now.
    An error occurred on line 105 while executing script 'MOM Backward Compatibility Service State Monitoring Script'
    Source: Microsoft VBScript runtime error
    Description: The remote server machine does not exist or is unavailable: 'GetObject'
    One or more workflows were affected by this.
    Workflow name: System.Mom.BackwardCompatibility.ServiceStateMonitoring
    Instance name: server.domain.local
    Instance ID: {INSTANCE}
    Management group: GROUP
    Unfortunately the instance in question has since been decommissioned and simply does not exist any more.
    We're currently on a repeat count of over 350,000 and I would REALLY like to get it stopped. I've had a look at adding an override but that points to the management server rather than the instance itself.
    Does anyone have any suggestions?
    thanks in advance!

    Hi Steven,
    There are for option for us to override a monitor ot rule:
    For all objects of class:
    Class
    When you select this option for your override, the override settings apply to all objects in the class at which the rule or monitor is targeted.
    For a group
    When you select this option for your override, the override settings apply only to members of the group. The rule or monitor without the override settings continues to apply to all objects in the targeted class except for those objects that are also members
    of the group used for the override.
    When you create a group, you save it to an unsealed management pack. However, an element in an unsealed management pack, such as an override, cannot reference an element in a different unsealed management pack, such as a group. If you are going to use a group
    to limit the application of an override, you must either save the group to the same unsealed management pack as the override, or you must seal the management pack that contains the group.
    For a specific object of class:
    Class
    When you select this option for your override, the override settings apply only to the specified object. The rule or monitor without the override settings continues to apply to all other objects in the targeted class.
    For all objects of another class
    When you select this option for your override, the override settings apply only to objects of a class other than the targeted class. The rule or monitor without the override settings continues to apply to all objects in the targeted class.
    Did you try to override it for a specific object of class?

  • Anyone having "URL not valid" error from Live Monitor?

    I sent a support email to MSI, but they are on vacation till the 5th.  I was just wondering if anyone else has encountered this issue.  Below is the message to MSI support:
    Quote
    MSI Live Monitor has started to behave strangely.  Yesterday I clicked auto-search and the dialog box came up as normal, I clicked "next," and an error message came up with the heading "LMonitor" and "The url is invalid."  So, I closed it and restarted Live Monitor.  I tried it again and received the same error message.  I uninstalled Live Monitor, (I didn't delete a file Windows stated as shared) and downloaded Live Monitor from the website.  Installed Live Monitor, started it from the installation, and ran auto search. It worked this time. But, I then tried it again, and again, the same error message occured.  I rebooted, and tried auto-serch again--once again, the error message occurred.  Anyway, prior to yesterday it seemed to be working fine. I did a second uninstall, and re-install. Again, it worked one time and the second time the error message occurred

    CCB33,
    I haven't received a response yet, but MSI has only been back since the 6th,  and after that kind of time out I bet they have a lot of emails to answer.  Funny thing about your post on this thread.  Just before I read it, I tried MSI Live Monitor and had the same thing ocurr. So, I uninstalled it, reinstalled it and it worked the first time.  I then crossed my fingers and toes, exited the program, restarted the program, tried auto-search, and IT WORKED!  No error message appeared.  I exited again, and restarted the program -- it worked again. Woohoo! This time after exiting the result window and the program still running, I then tried the auto-search which worked yet again.  It seems it's functioning now.  If I were you I'd uninstall the program and reinstall it again(I downloaded it from the MSI website ( http://www.msi.com.tw/program/products/mainboard/mbd/pro_mbd_liveupdate.php ).  I'll try it again tomorrow and see if it still works.
    Edit: This morning, USA eastern time, I tried it and it worked.  This afternoon I don't get the error but a message stating the server may be busy or no internet connectio. Seems to be working fine now.

    ;I just feel the above reports not really meaningful :(
    Can you give me some other scripts that u have?
    Thanks a lot,
    MsK

    Thanks all :-*
    @sybrand
    Oracle 9i comes with Oracle Enterprise Manager. This includes a reporting website with monitoring scripts.
    Why write them yourself?My boss want a cumulative report over time, for example : what happened @ 1am,2am,3am on tuesday last week, why is the server so slow that the batch job did not complete as expected? Why was an error occured about a table that can not extend? Ora 1635. I mean you can see in the report that at this certain hour a certain tablespace was full.
    oops maybe tablespace sample is not logical :D
    say every day I can have excel reports of tablespace space status like:
    tablespace_name   used     free     date
    TS_DATA          1000K   5000k  1-Oct-2010
    TS_DATA          2000K   4000k  2-Oct-2010
    TS_DATA          3000K   3000k  3-Oct-2010
    TS_DATA          4000K   2000k  4-Oct-2010
    TS_DATA          5000K   1000k  5-Oct-2010
    TS_DATA          5000K      0k  6-Oct-2010Does Statspack can hold historical data for analysis? say for the last 24 hrs?
    Thanks a lot

  • Capturing fileio script errors

    Howdy, I need a little help getting these pesky "script
    errors" to keep from popping up.
    I am using fileio to save preferences. Everything works fine
    unless there is a permission problem. In this case, Director just
    pops up a "script error".
    Instead of that message popping up on error, I would like to
    replace with with my own message, something like "cannot write
    file, permission denied". Simple enough but I'm not sure what lingo
    I use to trap the error and keep it from popping up with the script
    error. My lingo is...
    io = new Xtra("fileio")
    path = the pathname & "ndata.txt"
    io.openFile(path,0)
    io.delete()
    io.createFile(path)
    io.openFile(path,0)
    gameprefs = pName & "," & AA & "," &O_Buffer
    io.writeString(string(gameprefs))
    --io.writeString(string(pName))
    io.closeFile()
    Any help would be appreciated! Thank you!

    It's not clear which line of code is throwing an error, and
    it would
    help if you included details of the error message in the
    future.
    Try the following, and see which line is the last in your
    message window
    when the error dialog presents:
    put "instancing xtra"
    io = new Xtra("fileio")
    path = the pathname & "ndata.txt"
    put "openFile"
    io.openFile(path,0)
    put "delete"
    io.delete()
    put "createFile"
    io.createFile(path)
    put "openFile: 2"
    io.openFile(path,0)
    gameprefs = pName & "," & AA & "," &O_Buffer
    put "writeString"
    io.writeString(string(gameprefs))
    --io.writeString(string(pName))
    put "closeFile"
    io.closeFile()
    I would also suggest you add some error trapping - or at
    least
    monitoring - of calls to FileIO by using its 'status()'
    method:
    put "instancing xtra"
    io = new Xtra("fileio")
    path = the pathname & "ndata.txt"
    put "openFile"
    io.openFile(path,0)
    put io.status(), io.error()
    put "delete"
    io.delete()
    put io.status(), io.error()
    put "createFile"
    io.createFile(path)
    put io.status(), io.error()
    put "openFile: 2"
    io.openFile(path,0)
    put io.status(), io.error()
    gameprefs = pName & "," & AA & "," &O_Buffer
    put "writeString"
    io.writeString(string(gameprefs))
    put io.status(), io.error()
    --io.writeString(string(pName))
    put "closeFile"
    io.closeFile()
    put io.status(), io.error()

  • Monitoring script

    I created a monitoring script which would run from crontab....Would anyone tell me how I would export Oracle SID in crontab script instead of hard coded it. Thanks.

    I do some simple checks for correct number of arguments using "if [[ $# -lt 1 ]]; then..."
    This is very simple and doesn't confirm that the arguments are valid.
    Example:
    if [[ $# -lt 1 ]]; then
      print "\n ERROR:  You did not specify an Oracle SID."
      print "\n Please enter which Oracle SID to import into. \n"
      exit 1
    else
      echo "\n  ORACLE_SID = $1 \n"
      echo "Do you wish to continue? \n "
        read REPLY
         case $REPLY in
            y|Y) echo "\n test good \n";;
            n|N) echo "\n exiting... \n"; return 1;;
            echo "Invalid response (Bozo).  Exiting..."
            echo ""
            return 2;
         esac
    fiBut my point was to show a quick and easy solution to the OP for his purposes.
    Using "echo $1 |. oraenv" passes the variable to oraenv and sets everything he needs for his purposes.
    From the sounds of the OP's question, it didn't seem to have the skills to develop more complex scripts.
    Personally, I like to use a special file that I keep updated on all servers.
    I call the file 'localsids' and place it in the /var/opt/oracle directory.
    I have a similar file called 'allsids', which contains a list of all sids on all servers for when I want to check all databases (e.g., such as for users having DBA role, or something like that).
    Then, I check for validity (and can add and remove SIDs from the file at will, (depending on purposes such as blackouts).
    I like using a loop for this purpose (SIDFILE='var/opt/oracle/localsids' cat $SIDFILE |while read SID... do....)
    Example:
    # ==================================================
    # check input given against valid sids on this machine
    # ==================================================
    export SIDFILE='/var/opt/oracle/localsids'
    SID=`grep $1 $SIDFILE`
    if [ "$SID" = "$1" ]; then
    print "\n \"$SID\" verified... \n"
    else
    print "\n ERROR... \"$1\" is not a valid SID for this machine. \n"
    exit 1
    fiI have a couple other variations as well.
    I think it would be nice if OTN had a more appropriate forum for people like us who like scripting and/or what to share unix skills.

  • Constant action script errors

    Please help me it will be much appreciated if you do. I have been having numerous amounts of action script errors and its becoming a very tedious process to dismiss them everytime an ad changes.  Please help me fix this I am getting tired of this been happening for a long time. I have everything up to date, flash, skype, chrome, windows, ie, and anything else is fully up to date so I am not sure at ALL what is going on.

    It's very possible that you are on the upgrade track for the Flash debugger.  Try the following: Uninstall the current version of flash you have installed:http://download.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/support/uninstall_flash_player.exe
    Download and install the latest version of Adobe Flash for IE:https://admdownload.adobe.com/bin/live/flashplayer18ax_ha_install.exe

  • Hello, iam using the latest version of firefox, whenever i login into my yahoo mail account i get a stop script error, the details of the error script is mentioned below , please suggest how to stop this : STOP ERROR

    Hello, iam using the latest version of firefox, whenever i login into my yahoo mail account i get a stop script error, the details of the error script is mentioned below , please suggest how to stop this
    the website is www.mail.yahoo.com. i was getting the same STOP script error every now and then in firefox 6 as well

    I have had a similar problem with my system. I just recently (within a week of this post) built a brand new desktop. I installed Windows 7 64-bit Home and had a clean install, no problems. Using IE downloaded an anti-virus program, and then, because it was the latest version, downloaded and installed Firefox 4.0. As I began to search the internet for other programs to install after about maybe 10-15 minutes my computer crashes. Blank screen (yet monitor was still receiving a signal from computer) and completely frozen (couldn't even change the caps and num lock on keyboard). I thought I perhaps forgot to reboot after an update so I did a manual reboot and it started up fine.
    When ever I got on the internet (still using firefox) it would crash after anywhere between 5-15 minutes. Since I've had good experience with FF in the past I thought it must be either the drivers or a hardware problem. So in-between crashes I updated all the drivers. Still had the same problem. Took the computer to a friend who knows more about computers than I do, made sure all the drivers were updated, same problem. We thought that it might be a hardware problem (bad video card, chipset, overheating issues, etc.), but after my friend played around with my computer for a day he found that when he didn't start FF at all it worked fine, even after watching a movie, or going through a playlist on Youtube.
    At the time of this posting I'm going to try to uninstall FF 4.0 and download and install FF 3.6.16 which is currently on my laptop and works like a dream. Hopefully that will do the trick, because I love using FF and would hate to have to switch to another browser. Hopefully Mozilla will work out the kinks with FF 4 so I can continue to use it.
    I apologize for the lengthy post. Any feedback would be appreciated, but is not necessary. I will try and post back after I try FF 3.16.6.

  • Adobe Flash Player Script Error: Script Running Slowly

    Hello everyone. I have a problem with my laptop when going on to certain websites. When I go one of the websites with a script error, I get a message that a script error is causing my Adobe Flash Player to run slowly, and that if it continues to run the computer may become unresponsive, and it asks if I want to stop running the script or something. I don't know what to do with it. Help!
    I am running a Windows 7 laptop with a Internet Explorer 8 (I think) and Google Chrome (Both IE and Google Chrome have the same problem), and also Adobe Flash Player 11 ActiveX.
    [ email signature removed - see http://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-3731 ]

    I would suggest you update your flash.  You are running flash 10 and the latest is flash 15.
    Download and install the latest version of Adobe Flash for IE.

  • IE8 script error while installing Flash Player

    [WinXP (2002) SP3]
    Installation of Flash Player 11 (tried this 10 or more times) is interrupted by an IE8 script error message "Object doesn't support this property or method" (Line: 207 Char: 1 Code: 0 URL: http://www.adobetag.com/d1/adobe/live/getadobecom.js), followed by the question “Do you want to continue running scripts on this page?” No matter if I answer Yes or No, installation proceeds and seems to finish normally, showing a new window saying “You are now using Flash Player 11”
    But any link on any website that needs to use Flash Player refuses to run, asking again and again for a Flash Player download!
    I checked my IE settings, they are all as they should be, allowing script running, etc.
    What can I do?!

    Hello,
    Use Adobe Flash Player uninstaller : http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html
    Once Flash Player is uninstalled then use the offline installer for Adobe Flash Player.

  • Frequent Unresponsive script error chrome://global/content/bindings/text.xml:32 w/ Firefox frozen

    I FREQUENTLY get a
    Unresponsive Script:
    A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, open the script in the debugger, or let the script continue. Script: chrome://global/content/bindings/text.xml:32
    after Firefox became frozen for about 20+ minutes. I tried disabling addons and Firefox safe mode, STILL get this error quite a bit

    Do you see any connection between pages that generate this error and the use of the Flash plugin? Incompatibility with the Protected Mode feature of the Flash plugin is one possible cause for slow script errors (on pages that use Flash).
    The Protected Mode feature has security benefits, but seems to have compatibility issues on some systems. You can disable it by creating or editing a settings file. The following pages/posts provide different approaches for that:
    * Adobe support article under the heading "Last Resort": [http://forums.adobe.com/message/4468493#TemporaryWorkaround Adobe Forums: How do I troubleshoot Flash Player's protected mode for Firefox?]
    * Manual steps: https://support.mozilla.org/questions/968190?page=5#answer-509209

    Flash needs to completely unload from memory (exiting and starting Firefox up again might help) before this takes effect.
