Live recordings and the click between tracks

Dear users,
I'm a very fresh user and i wanted to know if there is a way around the stops between tracks on live recordings.
I realy don't like the sound of that everytime a new number comes along.
I have done it by way of ripping and using itunes....they all have the same result between the tracks.
Somebody told me that i should learn to live with it?
Every tip is welcome!

I know that i'm not the worlds best pc user...but i have done everything what i could think of.
Put a cd in > open itunes > and wait for the things to come.
Then i have the option to import the cd witch i do.
Before and during this i can not use this button...it stay's grey....also when i import a file from my folders its the same story...this button wont work.
I updated the itunes....and still the same.
Buttons i can not use under the " Advanced " tab:
Convert
Get cd track names
Submit cd track names
Join cd tracks
Convert ID3 tags
I have worked by the notes you've given me....and still no result.
I'm sory that i can not see/solve this problem the way that somebody else will see and solve it.
At my side the button stay's grey....

Thanks for answering Chris. You clearly have much more experience than I do in these matters, and I don't mean to challenge... but that's not been my experience. If I choose shuffle for a list of all songs and listen continuously for many hours, I really do (and will) hear repeats.

[OT] Geographical points and the distance between them

I need to solve problems on the topic of addresses and the distance between them. I understand that I first need to convert an address into a pair of longitude and latitude. After my reading so far, I can use a GIS DB to achieve this goal. That is a lot of work since the issue is only one aspect of the application development. Does anyone know any other approaches?

IPod nano and Altec Lansing inMotion im5, clicks between tracks?

When I'm using my iPod nano with the Altec Lansing inMotion im5 there are 'clicks' between the tracks. When I'm using my iPod headphone I don't hear these 'clicks'. What could be wrong?

I've been playing around with my iPod nano and the im5 speaker system. I guess that the clicks might be caused by a gap (longer than 5 seconds) between the songs. It would have been no problem when the iPod should have a crossfade playback like iTunes has. I haven't heard the clicks when I use the iPod dock. The one I heard was just a strange end of a song....sorry!

Zen Micro: Is the gap between tracks nor

I bought a Zen Micro mainly because I was told that it does not insert a gap between tracks. The trouble is that mine does insert a tiny, but incredibly annoying, blip between tracks.
I would really appreciate if another Zen Micro owner could tell me if this gap is normal or there is something wrong with my unit. I have tried 3 different levels of firmware, various formats and bit rates, but each time media player plays tracks seamlessly, but the Zen Micro inserts the gap.

There is a somewhat technical reason as to why mp3 files cannot play seamlessly. Its because each part of the mp3 is split up into frames. You can only have frames, you can't have half frames or /4 frames. So I guess when a song ends, the little gap is the rest of the frame filling in space so it can be read properly. There is only one player that I know of that can actually skip the blank part of the frame and play gaplessly, I think its one of the Rio players but I can't remember to be honest

What's the difference between Cocoa and Carbon?
My understanding is that is has something to do with the appearance of an app- and how it was created.

G4 Minis and the click of death?

I came home today to a dead network and the dulcet sounds of my home server (a 1.5GHz G4 Mini) going click...click...click...click, just like the infamous click of death remeniscent of Zip drives and DeskStars from a few years back. A verbose reboot (the system was totally hung when I found it) paused just after the journal was replayed (from the hard reboot) with an endless string of 'device reset the bus' messages from the IO manager.
The disk seems completely toasted...likely the result of a head crash. Odd, since it's spent the last 2 years in one spot, unmoving.
Anyone else ever experience something like this?

If not (heck, even if you do): Any chance you had a power hiccup, either a little brownout (low voltage) or brief failure? (AC/kitchen stove clock a minute slower than your battery clocks in the house, for instance).

I have a third-generation iPod nano, and the click wheel died today. Is it possible to replace myself?

There's been a delay or lack of response for a while now, but the ribbon connecting it to the logic board is fully into the clip, and there's no clicking noise when I try to scroll or press any of the buttons. I've replaced the screen before, so I was wondering whether I could replace the click wheel, and how - there's a lot less on the internet about how to do that. I'm really trying not to let my iPod die of old age, so any help would be great.

If you can manage with KONP table, avoid KZWI* fields. It will be more stable report. ( Personal opinion - But I reccommend strongly)
If you have CO-PA implemented then use the GLPCA table.

My 4th gen nano has locked up and the click wheel doesn't function, is it dead?

Hi my 4th gen nano stopped working, the screens ok with no error messages but the click wheel no longer functions other than reseting. I've set it back to default ok but still no good as it's stuck on the language page. Is it dead??

Audio and the Click Button

I've noticed when I create a click button that there's an
option for audio.
But when I added audio to the button, the audio began playing
as soon as the slide appeared.
I thought with the audio being in the option for the click
button, it would not begin until the button was pushed.
Is that correct? If so, how can I tell the system not to
begin the audio until I click the button?
If that is incorrect, then can someone explain to me the
value of having audio with a click button if it's not associated
with the action of clicking the button.

Hi Pam
All objects in Captivate typically have the ability to
associate an audio clip with them. However, the actual behavior may
be misunderstood. For example, if you associate audio with an
image, the audio begins playing when the image appears. The same
holds true for buttons. The audio begins playing when the button
appears on the slide.
So to answer your question about how to force audio only to
play when the button is clicked upon by the user, you would need to
configure the button to jump to either the next slide or a specific
slide, then have the audio begin playing at the slide beginning.
The end result is that the user would click the button, the new
slide would display. As the audio would then be configured to begin
playing when the slide appeared, the audio would then play.

How do I eliminate the skips between tracks on a live CD I am downloading?

I want the music to "flow" as on the CD.

Another option is to use the nifty Join Together AppleScript. I believe this will work with both aac and mp3 files, but I'm not sure...
Once you drop the script into your ~/Library/iTunes/Scripts folder, fire up iTunes, highlight the tracks to join, and select the script from AppleScripts menu in iTunes. The tracks will be combined into a single AAC file which will contain bookmarks where each track marker should be.
I use this all the time when ripping Audiobooks... Rip to voice quality aac files, combine each CD's worth into a single bookmarked AAC file, and then change the option for each track to "Remember Playback Position" -- works great.
