Live Streaming Setup Help

Hi intldrag,
Tethering should be in the Wireless settings of your phone. We would recommend contacting your smartphone's support team for more information about this and where to find it. You can ask them about the Wireless features of your phone and how to enable tethering, if it's possible.
If my post answers your concern, please mark it as "Accept as Solution". Thanks_Mitch

Hi intldrag,
Welcome to the Sony Community!
The camcorder is capable to stream live using the Ustream app in your smartphone as long as it has the capability to tether. Here's the guide on how to perform Live Streaming with your smartphone:

  • "This computer does not support iTunes live streaming." Help?

Just trying to catch up with the iTunes Festival, but for some reason when I click on the videos in the iTunes store, that little notification about "This computer...." shows up.
    What should I do?

I am trying to figure this out too.
this is what I have tried so far
    - using the iPhone app I was able to watch Adele live on my iPhone 4.
    - on my Windows 7 PC, using the same itunes account as on my phone, I was able to watch the reply of Adele.
but, while on my work Computer (Windows Vista) and using the same itunes account as mentioned above, I am unable to view the Adele replay.
both PC's are running iTunes 10.3.1 and using the same iTunes account.  The difference is the Windows version, but you post says you are using Windows 7, which I was able to get the reply to work on.

  • Help with setup for live streaming

I'm trying to set up a live stream that's viewable on my
    website.
I have two machines behind a router with one being the
webserver running FMS (windows 2003) and the other being the
encoding machine running FME (windows XP).
When I set up FME, I put in the following as the url to the
    server "rtmp://
computernamewebserver/live/" with the session name being
    "test".
This has no problems connecting to FMS .
On the webserver/FMS, I created a *.swf file which basically
contains just a flvplayback object with the URL set to "rtmp://
    computernamewebserver/live/test".
Now after I publish this, I can view the video via the
published html file from within the network, but when I try outside
of the network, it doesn't work and I get no error messages so it's
    hard to debug.
I have port 80 forwarded to my webserver/FMS machine. I tried
forwarding port 1935 to both my webserver/FMS machine and the FME
    machine with no success.
I've tried playing around with the rtmp URL by changing the
    computernamewebserver from the internally recognized
computer name to the externally recognized URL to my webserver.
The solution is probably something simple, but since this is
my first attempt at flash streaming, it's not obvious to me and
I've tried searching for the solution. My suspicion is that there's
some config file somewhere that I need to config that I don't know
about or maybe it's some port issue. Neither of my machines have
    windows based firewall disabled.

"Now after I publish this, I can view the video..." Well this
shows that FMS is working fine, so I am guessing that it is an
    outside network issue.
"Neither of my machines have windows based firewall disabled.
" I don't know if this is the cause either, as a host based
firewall should prevent any connections from arriving, either by
the internal lan or the external (well, at least I think that is
the case, I dont know if windows still allows hosts on the same
subnet to have local lan permissions or what they do with their
crazy security model. That said it shouldn't be a problem.)
I would try to just telnet to the port that you have open to
make sure the connection can be established.
telnet computernamewebserver 1935 (this should open up a
socket, otherwise your port forwarding isnt working correctly.)
If telnet works ok, perhaps its an issue with the swf. I
would code the minimal things needed to just get a stream playing
from the external network (perhaps just using the vod service, not
the live, to make things simple).
    Hope that helps.

  • Help understand Visual Communicator Live Streaming

Up to know I run live streaming through our Steaming server using FMS and Flash Media Live Encoder as we only needed one camera for live video feeds.
We are looking at the ability now to use 2 live cameras and also the ability to snap in pre recorded video during live feeds and also provide lower third titles.
    I am looking at:
    Adobe Visual Communicator 3
    Wirecast 4
    CutFour
All of these provide the possible live switching I need.
I'm at the moment looking at the Trial version of Visual communicator and I am struggling getting my head around a few things.
I can hook up 2 -3 Sony A1 HD cameras in SD no problem and running it though FMS is fine. During test streams clicking on the cameras using the mini switcher is straight forward.
howevr I am struggling to work out how to do the following:
Add prerecorded video clips to Camera 3? ( in the Setup Tab it says " No Camera found - please connect a camera or replace with Photo or video Clip) How do I replace with a Video Clip?
How do I add premade titles, so that during the live feed I can put lower third titles in?
Finally, How do Provide an intro looping video to play before the live feed starts?
    Any instructions would be appreciated

  • Live Stream Help!!!

    Hi,
I have been doing a lot of Flash with progressive download
and also streaming Flash but I have been asked to create a piece
that uses live streaming Flash. I tried using the Flash Import
wizard with the RTMP link that I was given but alas, it failed to
work. I don't understand the live streaming video...
I am having troubles finding a tutorial on this. I looked at
the Flash tutorials and only found the basics of using the Flash
    wizard.
    Please help!
    Thanks!
    janst

Okay, I guess I was panicking and feeling the stress of a
tight deadline. I actually was doing fine but there was a problem
with my live streaming video link!
However, the skin that I am using from the Adobe provided
skins (which are really great!) has a full screen button and that
    button is not working.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

  • Live Streaming Help

I have a flash media server that I'm sucessfully using to
stream .flv videos. Now I'm wondering how to set up an application
on my FMS to stream live video using the new encoder.
I have the new encoder and the server - I just need some
basic instructions on how to make the two work together to get a
live stream working. The encoder is local and the FMS is at a
colocation facility and I have remote access.
    Cheers,
    Jim

    Here's what works for me.
I presume that in FME, you have specified a camera and have
FME connected to FMS. In FME, I specify the folder (streamtest) and
then specify a stream name (abc).
In FMS, create an empty folder called "streamtest" in your
    apps folder.
In Flash 8, drag out a video component and specify the stream
    thusly
    rtmp://(whatever your ip address is)/streamtest/abc
Be sure that islive is set to true. Publish and upload to
    server.
You should be able to see your fme stream in the video
    component if everything works.
That's what I did. Hope it helps.

  • Hello, pls help, why i cant able to watch live streaming?in to other country?

Hello, pls help, why i cant able to watch live streaming?in to other country?i used safari and tune in i got error result.thanks

Without knowing what streaming service you're attempting to use it's impossible to say with any certainty, but confirm that the site you wish to use allows connections from outside of its country. Many live streaming services, particularly those that show live TV shows or other such content, are limited to access only from users in the service's country.
    Regards.

  • How to secure Flash Media Streaming Server 3.5 (live stream connection)

I have Flash Media Streaming Server 3.5 (not Interactive) running on RHEL5.5 x86_64 Linux.
All is working well, however how do I prevent unauthorized access to connecting to the live stream and streaming content?
How can I setup the server to require a user and password to stream live media to the server?
Any help would be great, I am new to this product and I have been reading some documentation but I have not found a clear cut answer on how to force a username and password to connect to the server to stream live content only.

I want to lock down a person from connecting to the server on the public internet and starting a live stream?
Can this be done with a user name and password?

If you are concerned about anyone starting publishing to your stream then we have security update on this. Please upgrade to 3.5.4 and now you can use FMS Authentication Add-in (used with FMLE as publisher). If you are facing problems with publisher which are not FMLE, please enable SWF Verification so that only valid SWF's connect to your FMS.
You can find 3.5.4 update here : http://www.adobe.com/support/flashmediaserver/downloads_updaters.html
You can find FMS Authentication Add-in on FMLE Download page: https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/entitlement/index.cfm?e=fmle3 (when you click on Agree - it will prompt for your Adobe ID - then when you reach Download page - you will get Optional Download of Authentication Add-in)

  • How to secure publishing of live streams

    Hi,
I have installed Flash Media Server on our server.  When I load up the application home page, I see the demo video of a train.
Then I click on the "Interactive" tab on the right hand side.  I was SHOCKED to see that I can create a live stream from my local camera without any  credentials at all.  Anyone who visits this webpage can publish a live video stream on our Flash Media Server?
Please tell me there is a simple configuration change I can make to close up this gaping security hole.
    Thanks

    jephperro,
The advised operation for this is a combination of SWF Verification for your general content to ensure that unintended SWFs cannot perform undesired actions on your FMS installation.  If you make use of live publishing then the FMLE authentication plugin is a necessary component as well.
All this information will be forthcoming in the FMS hardening guide - but for now I can help detail for you the solution you'll need to make sure that only your intended targets are using your FMS installation.  Tell me a little about your setup, or email me offlist to do so @ [email protected] and we'll get you sorted.

  • Tutorials: on-demand and live streaming

This question was posted in response to the following article: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/flashmediaserver/amazonec2/WS6fc2df2b6d2ce24359910e2812c396a83 eb-7ff8.2.html

I followed the instructions to "Live Streaming with DVR", but it's not quite working for me.  I'm able to push a live stream to the EC2, and view it through the Flash Media Playback Setup page under the "Live" option in the Advanced tab.  However, I am not able to enable the DVR functions.  I have added the dvrcast_origin folder to /mnt/applications, as instructed, but I have no "streams" folder in dvrcast_origin, nor any video from the stream saved to the EC2 that I can find.  Any suggestions?

  • Live stream problem with FMS 4.5 + FMLE

    Hi,
I've got a live stream (and DVR) setup using FMS 4.5 and FMLE.
The hardware for the FMS server we use is 2x Xeon E5645 2.4GHz, 32GB RAM, OCZ RevoDrive R3 X2 PCI-e SSD. Installed OS is CentOS 5.8.
We have 6 workstation PCs, each equiped with 4 BlackMagic Intensity PRO capture cards and FMLE 3.2. Using these PCs we stream Live video to FMS server.
Video stream is grabbed from HDMI cable, to BlackMagic Cards, which are encoding by FMLE using H.264 format, 700kbps bitrate per stream.
Video stream is published to server through RTMP stream, which is later saved for DVR in RAW format. We only keep 3 days of recording and delete the old ones.
Server and Encoder PCs are in the same network, connected by gigabit managed switch.
The problem I'm having is that after 10-15 hours FMLE starts to drop frames, because video buffer is increased. What I observed is that this happens immediately when Server CPU load increases above 60%.
Based on the above observation I decreased the number of channels streamed by the server to 10, which reduced CPU load. But the problem still persists.
Whenever I restart FMS and delete all DVR data, the CPU load (when streaming 10 live channels) is only 1%, but after 2 days CPU load increases to 50-60%.
Whenever I restart FMS and don't delete DVR data, the CPU load is 5-10%, and after 2 days it still increases to 60-70%.
Another thing I observed is that there is only single fmscore process running, but it has lots of threads which are switched on and off in split seconds. These threads are launched on different CPU cores, but at any given point in time the distribution of the load isn't equal among CPU cores. This leads certain CPU cores being loaded by more than 60% and frame drops start to occur.
For the moment there are just 10 users watching this service, so I don't think this load accounts for the problem.
Has anybody had similar problem, or know how can I optimize or finetune the system to run without problem? I would appreciate any suggestions.
Another thing I noted through last couple of days:
When I was restarting FMS the CPU load was reduced to 30%, but after 1 week past when I restart it CPU load only goes down to 75%. Everything is the same, nothing has been changed and there is no disk IO issues involved.
    P.S. I've modified application.xml using these values:
    <Scope>vhost</Scope>
    <Distribute numprocs="5">app</Distribute>
    <LifeTime>
    <RollOver></RollOver>
    <MaxCores></MaxCores>
    </LifeTime>

    Hi
How many channels are you publishing?
If there are too many channels, it is recommended to have one  FMSCore process start for each of them. To do so, you will have to change the scope to app.
    ---snippet---
    <Application>
    <Process>
        <Scope>app</Scope>
       <Distribute numprocs="3">inst</Distribute>
    </Process>
    </Application>
Also, to delete older content, you will have to enable disk management. Refer http://help.adobe.com/en_US/flashmediaserver/devguide/WSeb6b7485f9649bf23d103e5512e08f3a33 8-8000.html#WSec225f632fa00875-23954b6f1300b641158-8000 for more info.

  • Live streaming audio on flash site

    Hello,
I am new to Flash and I am working on a web page using flash, the page itself is going to be pretty basic, but the situation I am in is this,  we would like to but a live streaming audio feed on the site and I am having trouble figuring out how to add that.  The server it is from is a Broadwave server, and it does stream in MP3.  I would like the audio stream to start automatically when the web page is open.  Any help would be greatly appriciated.

You could build your own player but if you are new to Flash, you might want to just embed or place on the Web page a prebuilt player. For example:
    http://www.longtailvideo.com/players/jw-flv-player/
    or
    http://flowplayer.org/
    or
    http://ffmp3.sourceforge.net/
each player will have it's own config setup for autoplay etc.
    Best wishes,

The answer was to go back to Wowza.  Adobe dropped the ball.

  • Live stream to android devices? shouldn't be this difficult.

Why doesn't Adobe post a simple tutorial on how to stream live video from FMS 4.5 to Android device? The developer center has a tutorial series that hasn't been updated in years. The Part 8: Streaming to Android Devices (to Come) hasn't been updated in 1.5 years. The server is useless if we can't watch video on Android devices. Surely someone out there has successfully streamed live video to an Android device and can explain how to do it?
Do we need to create an Android Air App to accomplish this?
    Thanks for any help!
    Dave

As an avid Wowza developer/integrator/consultant (as well as the occasional AMS work), I concur with JayCharles on all of his assertions. The transcoder is completely optional, and you can actually make your own Wowza transcoder module with FFmpeg if the Transcoder AddOn costs are really too steep for deployment.
Having said that, my current solution for live streaming to Android with an off-the-shelf (OTS) player is JW Player, and setting its fallback property to false. It looks something like this:
    <div id="videoPlayer">
<!-- Code for non-supported JW Player case. JW Player 6 will not show HLS source on Android. -->
         <video src="http://media_server/app_name/_definst_/mp4:stream_ref/playlist.m3u8" controls ></video>
<p>Video not playing? <a href="rtsp://media_server/app_name/_definst_/mp4:stream_ref">Click this link to play in an external media player.</a></p>
    </div>
    <script type="text/javascript">
    jwplayer("videoPlayer").setup({
                                                                playlist: [
                                                                                    sources: [
                                                                                                        file: "rtmp://media_server/appname/_definst_/mp4:streamname"
                                                                                                        file: "http://media_server/appname/_definst_/mp4:streamname/playlist.m3u8"
                                                                                    title: "My Sample Live Stream"
                                                                height: 180,
                                                                primary: "html5",
                                                                autostart: false,
                                                                width: 320,
                                                                fallback: false
