What is the best Macintosh for use in live theatre productions (sound effects, lighting control, etc)? What is the best hardware/software configuration?

Yes there are many equipment solutions out there, but if you cant afford $5000 you wont be interested in any of my suggestions:

its not like i must...but i do prefer apple for build quality and the way the os uses the hardware..
Priority of the laptop will be:
1- Going live with it, using softwares like ableton like or garageband to trigger samples and ambient patches with MIDI keyboard.
2- Designing on photoshop
3 - Occasional video rendering mostly non hd but good quality like youtube 720p
4 - Gaming when i am bored - I am not at all into gaming but i would surely love to play some
But i want something that will be durable/storngly built and its hardware/processor good enough to run for 3-4 years.
Now if a laptop then which one?

User can't access detail Hardware/Software Inventory

What right or permission do I need to give so that a user can access the detailed Hardware/Software inventory of a computer? I don't want them to be able to add or modify computer properties.
It's currently grayed out for the user.

Downloading Hardware & Software After Installing Microsoft 7

Hello! A virus attacked my OS, so I wiped the old one (Microsoft 7 Home Premium) and installed Microsoft 7 Ultimate (64-Bit). After this, I had no drivers, hardware, software, nothing for the wireless connection, it's all gone. If possible I'd like to find and download all of these things instead of paying for a recovery disc. I have hardware errors for the following things: Ethernet Controller Network Controller PCI Simple Communications Controller SM Bus Controller and two Unknown Devices (one located in Port_#0003.Hub_0004 and one on PCI bus) I checked to make sure the BIOS are current and downloaded and installed the most recent system and UEFI updates. I don't know what I need and don't need from the Software & Drivers Download Page or if I need more than is offered there. Please help. I tried to provide as much info as possible, but let me know if you need anything else. Thank you!

I would very much like to talk with you sometime. >I can tell you that the Intel Quad Core chips work great. Thrown in two of them and 4GB RAM and your system will fly. But one will do the trick pretty well. Yes, I bet it would fly with 2 Quad Cores. My TD says he has a good deal on a quad processor for something like $350, but I have no idea if this is a good deal. I also have no idea whether a quad will work in my motherboard, the D955XBK. I spent some time at Intel's site last night and it seems this bd will not handle a Quad, so this would probably mean I will have to dump my motherbd in order to get into a Quad. Intel has all these looney names for their processors -- CORE 2 DUO, CORE 2 QUAD, CORE 2 EXTREME, XEON -- one hardly knows what's what. James All of the surrent chips are good enough to handle Adobe products.

Each time I attempt to download the new itunes 10.5 I keep getting the following error message:

Any Ideas of how to solve this one?

After reading all these posts, one by one did not resolve my problem until I got the very end. Regardless of what step would resolve your problem, these are the steps I would recomment to everyone for a what seems to be a safe and fool-proof upgrade to iTunes 10.5.
1. Stand alone upgrade to the latest Quicktime version
2. Go to control panel and "change" then select repair to the following applications in the order specified by the post on Oct 27. (Notice I skipped Quicktime because it had been upgrade manually,and Bonjour did not have a "repair" option)
iTunes; Apple Software Update: Mobile Device Support; Apple Applications Support
Some of these applications may not appear if they do not apply to your configuration (no iPhone, or no iPad, or other apple devices).
Once all updated, I did not need to restart nor launch any applications, I simply went straight into the 10.5 upgrade, and where it normally got stuck, this time the installation continued for a while longer until it completed successfully.

Transport products and software component version

Hi,
I created a Products and its Software Component Version in System Landscape Directory of XI development.
I imported this Software Component Version into Integration Builder and developed design and configuration objects.
The scenario is completed and now I want to transport the Products and Software Component Version to XI Production.
Could someone please explain the transport procedure.

Thanks four your instructions. I would like to have more details on the export/import procedure. Please confirm the following steps are correct:
From SLD of XI development:
1/ Edit new product and its software component version.
2/ Click on icon Export: XI generates a zip file and downloads it in c drive.
From SLD of XI Production:
1/ Select Import utility under system catalog.
2/ Browse and select the zip file
In XI production there are existing third party products, and I do not want the transport of this new product causes any problem.
Design and configuration objects will be exported/import ed after the successful transport of product and software component version transport.

Do we need to create a third party product and SWC for this project in sld?

I am planning to install BOE XI 3.1, Xcelsius Enterprise 2008 and Crystal Report 2008 on my window server machine.
DO you know what is the minimum hardware requirement for this?
I only found the Xcelsius installation document that we need to 1GB for xcelsius (on client machine) but now if I have the above install on the Window server, what is the minimum hardware/software (window version) is required?
