Live type won't show "objects, textures nor live fonts"

I reinstalled FCP and components and now Live type won't show features like "Objects, Textures and Live Fonts". What can I do to recover them?

Media Browser won't show some textures that are right there by the rest?

Hello, ever since the upgrade to Studio the Media browser will not see 4 and a half categories of Textures. Noise thru Urban won't show in Media browser menu? Tried moving the files and used LiveType preferences but that didn't work either. They are on my Primary drive so that isn't the problem. All the rest of them work fine. They are in the exact same place as the working files. Anybody have an answer? Thank you. Daniel

See the reply under Where are the Effects? I copied the files from my laptop and installed them on my G5. Now it all works! How simple is that? They should have installed from the discs however, but they don't. Hope this helps.

Iphone won't show on computer nor itunes.

Hey everyone, I've looked around for threads on this for a few days now but either nothing was worked or it was very outdated and still didn't work.
To the point, my cousin bought a new iphone 3g and as a gift he gave me his iphone 2g. It worked fine but had all of his information as he didn't do anything to it but give it to me. I assume it has the newest firmware and what not as he was using it about a week ago. I plugged it into my computer but it didn't show on my computer or itunes. I installed the new itunes and while doing so tried to restore (Sleep + Home) and now it's stuck in the USB wire pointing at the Itunes symbol.
So now it won't turn on past that last notice and still won't show up on my computer and itunes. I've tried restarting, reinstalling, restoring, everything that's pretty common at least and still nothing. The phone doesn't show up in the Device Manager either and I've tried 2 different computers and 2 different wires. I'm getting sad at this point as i want to use it! No jailbreak or unlock that I know of also if that matters. If i left anything out please let me know.

i've had the same problem as narcky: screen shows usb cord with arrow pointing to itunes symbol. i've deleted and re-installed the latest version of itunes, no luck. this happened while i was trying to download the latest version of software for the iphone. i've even tried searching for the iphone in the list of usb drivers and all i get is the recovery iboot, which i dont even know what that means.also tried pressing home button and power button at same time, screen still shows cord with itunes symbol. i've tried everything, nothing seems to work. HELP?

Type won't show up in Chrome until I reload site

I've had my site for a little bit with Muse and recently I noticed that some of the typography (live txt) wont show until I reload the website on Google Chrome. For example in this link: http://www.barboletta.com/about.html next to the social media Icons on the right there is some txt that says "get to know us" and "Get in touch". In any of the projects ie: http://www.barboletta.com/impreial_metrics.html there is a description at the bottom. It doesnt show until I reload the site. Before & after reload Jpgs attached. It happens in all pages.
Any tips are grately appreciated!!

I believe you're encountering a bug Google introduced with Chrome 33 <https://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=336476&q=font&cols pec=ID%20Pri%20M%20Iteration%20ReleaseBlock%20Cr%20Status%20Owner%20S u mmary%20OS%20Modified>. It impacts the first paint of a web page containing web fonts. Google is aware of the bug and working on it.

Syncing contacts: user defined address type won't show in iPod

Hey,
I have contacts in my address book with user defined address types. For example, I defined an address type "parents" to save the postal address of my friend's parents.
After having synced my contacts using iTunes 7.6, my friend's parental address shows up as her private address whereas her private address isn't displayed at all.
Is this a bug in the iPod firmware (1.2.3) or in AddressBook (Mac OS 10.5.1)?
Is there a workaround available?

Yep, I had the same problem as sfraize - exactly. Address Book showed in the Dock as being active, but didn't display, and wasn't showing in the Force Quit window either.
Here's what I did:
1. removed Address Book from the Dock;
2. tried to launch it from the Applications folder (but it crashed the Finder and I had to shut down by holding the Start key);
3. on reboot, launched Address Book again from the Applications folder and this time, magically, it worked;
4. I've now put it back into the Dock, from where it seems to launch just fine.
Hope this helps people with similar problems!

Ipod won't show on Itunes nor Computer

Ok, i'm sure that this question was frequently asked on this fourm, but i really do not want to take the time in searching. Recently, my computer was whipped out and all my songs were deleted. So now i'm on my laptop, and i want to undate it. I found my songs, put it on itunes 7. But when i plug my ipod to the laptop, nothing shows up. Others may say that the computer might mistaken it as something else, and i tried to follow every instruction it says, but there is the point when the lab is not there, and i can't change it...

I would definitely check if your computer meets system requirements for the iPod. You can determine this by going here:

Ncurses won't show any output nor accept input (SOLVED .sort of)

I have an elderly application (PB/PG for Linux) that builds and runs fine on other distros than ArchLinux (AL). When I build it on AL it builds fine, meaning that the include files and the library are found. When I run the program it does not show any output on the screen and it will not accept keyboard input.
I must admit that I am somewhat at a loss as to what could be wrong, so any help will be much appreciated.
Have any of you experienced this (or a similar) problem? And how did you solve it?

EDIT 2007-12-04: The root cause of this problem had nothing to do with Ncurses whatsoever. I have found another tree to bark up. Sorry for the inconvenience.

So rather quick addition.
I just played with the AccelMethod option in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-intel.conf and found that this only occurs when it is set to "uxe" or "glamor" changing the setting to "sna" does not result in this problem.
I had originally changed this setting from sna due to font rendering issues. I'll leave it as sna for now and see if those same issues still exist.
Marked solved, but may not a good solution if font issues with sna are still present.

After connecting my iphone, it won't show in itunes, nor would it charge.

when i connect my iphone to my mac, it doesn't show in itunes. also, i doesn't charge; after about 5 seconds, a notification says that itw as drawing too much power and so was disconnected automatically. don't understand what the issue is. any help?

Try a different USB port.

ITunes won't show shared libraries nor will it show iPhone as a device

This is baffling me and I would welcome some assistance. ITunes doesn't show any Shared Libraries/Devices
1. iTunes will not show 2 shared libraries that can be seen by another computer (PC) running iTunes on the same home network
2. Using my iPhone I cannot get the Remote app to work; iTunes doesn't seem to recognise my iPhone, although they are both on the same network (verified)
3. When running 'Bonjour Browser' I can't locate "cciphonethings.tcp" as per the 'Things' support site for iPhone/iMac sync
4. iTunes will sync OK with my iPhone when I place the iPhone in it's cradle
I've followed the advice in Apple support and also followed the checks suggested by the Things support site. I've also reinstalled iTunes. No change.

To answer your question, the cpu speed is 550MHz.
Thought so. It seems like PowerBooks from about that era (550, 667) are the most likely to have this problem. I've never seen any definitive explanation, though. If I had to hazard a guess, I'd say it's a combination of hardware and software and how iTunes interacts with the CD drive.
One thing you could do is send a bug report to Apple via their online form.

Life type won't let me use two system fonts help please.

i want to use the fonts Bradley hand ITC TT and BlairMdlTC TT in LIVETYPE, but it will not recognize them. They are listed in the Media Browser's family of fonts but under description there is nothing. FCP5, PhotoshopCS and DVDSP4 all see them in my system library and are able to use them within their programs, however, LiveType AND Motion for that matter, both see them in the libray, but they choose NOT to let me use them.

Objects, Textures & Effects all not showing up properly...

Hello, I've been trying to apply objects, effects, and textures, and they're all showing up in the canvas, and when I export, as 'all white'. I had taken a screenshot, but don't see how to import it here. But for example, under the Objects tab, I applied the 'Eccentric' 'effect', and instead of being this cool purple effect underneath my name, it's just pure white! And this is the same for every effect, object, texture I try to apply...thanks!

Not sure what you mean by this, but you might try trashing the Live Type preferences files:
Quit Live Type.
Click the Finder icon in the Dock, make it a list view instead of icon view.
Click on your Home Directory.
Click on Library
click on Preferences
Drag the file named "com.apple.LiveType.plist" to the Trash
Open Live Type.

I lost all my live fonts, objects, textures, fonts and effects! Help!

I currently upgraded my Final Cut Express to 4. After my install I noticed that some of my old projects needed to have titles reconnected through Live Type. When I went into the file in Live Type it told me that there was media missing. All of my Live Fonts, Fonts, Objects, Textures and Effects are different now and the old ones are gone! What happened? Is this a result of installing the new FCE 4 and if so can I get the old ones back? Help!!

FCE V4 comes with a "lite" version of LiveType which is dramatically different to the previous version in the amount of media included.
My suggestion would be to uninstall FCE4, (re)install the previous version, and totally complete your old projects.
Some posters have apparently been able to install the old media along with the new media. A search of this forum might reveal the best way to do this.

Check online with the web site of the maker of your video card for an updated driver (assuming you're running Windows).

We need more information to help you. What did you create in Live Type? How did you import it/them into Final Cut Pro? Can you take a picture of the problem and post a link to it?
