Live update and Audio

Can anyone tell me, how come the sound disappear everytime I run Live Update, and the only way to restore it is re-boot the computer?

I have had a similar problem with onboard AC-97 audio on KT4V-L. Every time I install a program or update my virus software(or update anything else) there is no sound. Insted of rebooting, just aujust the windows volume up and then down and sound will return, at least for me. ?(
No clue as how to solve tho, or I would have by now.

  • I keep getting a message saying my protection engine has corrupted and that i should try re-installing live update. What is live update and how do i run it? - be grateful for any help

    Hi,
I turn my i mac on and when it has loaded onto the home screen I get a message popping up saying my protection engine has corrupted and that i should try reinstalling live update and my computer will no longer be protected until I do so. Would anyone be able to tell me what live update is and how I would run/reinstall it? - be grateful for any help!!!
    Thankyou

It would be a great idea to uninstall Norton - you don't need it and it has a pretty poor reputation for mucking up otherwise healthy Macs.
Have a look at this User Tip from klaus1: https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-2435
    To uninstall Norton:
    https://support.norton.com/sp/en/us/home/current/solutions/kb20080427024142EN_En dUserProfile_en_us
Edit: To see whether you actually have Norton installed launch Activity Monitor in the Utilities folder. If it's installed you'll likely see some Norton entries there.
Also, in System Preferences>Users & Groups or Accounts, depending on OS)>Login Items, it might be listed.

[Athlon64] Failed Bios update with both Live Update and Dos version = badchecksum shutdown

Sometimes bios recovery is a long shot .
But the award bios v.6 is supposed to be able to do it if the bootblock is still intact.
Best way seems to be to strip it down to minimal configuration , disconnect all drives except floppy , one ram module , perhaps without video card also .

trying to see if theres any update to the BIOS for my MB.... but when i enter liveupdate f rom the BIOS I cant use the mouse (well I can move it around but it wont register any clicks).
    So what shall I do?

  • New to iMovie, create live video and audio?

Hello, I am trying to create a video of a live musical performance to post on youtube and have figured out how to use the isight to get a video but can I use the biult in mics to record live audio with the video?

    Hello, Nateomite
As Karsten says, you will certainly get better results and much more convenience with a camcorder.
However, if you decide to use your MacBook, the built-in mic can record audio with your video:
in iChat: iChat > Video > Record Chat records both video and audio.
      in iMovie: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=iMovie/7.0/en/10172.html
tells you how to record using your MacBook's built-in iSight (and mic.)
Other movie/video recording apps may work differently, but most allow sound with video.

  • Updated bios via Live Update and now my Network card isn't detected

I have an msi Z87-GD65 Gaming Motherboard and I updated some drivers and the bios via msi Live Update 6 last night and now my computer refuses to recognize my network adapter. The adapter is a TRENDnet N600, plugs into PCIe if I'm not mistaken. Wifi if my only option with this computer, I can't use ethernet, so it's really important I get the network card working again. I have had zero issues with it until this.
The reason I was updating was to try to get my third monitor to work when plugged into the mobo, while my other two were plugged into the graphics card (which I also installed yesterday, but it's working fine). Note that it still was not working, but I had enabled the IGD Multi-Monitor from bios.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. I did try uninstalling the drivers but it still won't detect the network card. I also tried disconnecting and reconnecting the network card (and I cleaned the port for good measure).
I've only been using Windows computers for a year, so bear with me if there's stuff I don't know. Thanks in advance. I can try to get a full list of what was installed later tonight, but all of it that I can find has been uninstalled at this point.
Note: I did not flash the bios when I installed, which I have now heard is a bad idea, apparently. l:

  • MSI Live Update and X1950Pro

    Hi all.
I'm still having problems with getting my X1950Pro to run without crashing on 3D games, but mainly World of Warcraft. Have tried many different things, such as using different graphics drivers and upgrading my RAM, which I did yesterday. But I'm still stuck. ATM, I'm back to using my friends NVidia 6600GT  :( until I can find a feasible solution.
Somebody suggested checking my mobo drivers, so I ran Live Update last night and it came up with quite a few updates.
I'll list the ones that I think are relevant and I do realise that once the x1950 is back in, the updates for the VGA Drivers will change. I must apologise for the large amount of space that I'm about to use up, but I'm really getting frustrated at buying a card that I can't use for the purpose that I bought it for
    Here goes:
1xupdate Driver - nForce System Drivers current ver.2.78  online ver.3.75
13xupdateVGA - on all updates, current ver "unknown".
9xupdates are for different NVidia cards, so I shall ignore them until I put ATI card back in.
4xupdates are all "for all of MSI VGA cards"
    2xupdate Utility - iSpeeder - not installed   online ver.1.2
infoview XP - not installed   online ver.1.750 - 1.Fixed VGA info error
                                                                                           2. Fixed AGP rate error on WinXP
I hope I've made this understandable. Can anyone see anything here that may sort out my troubles?

Thanks very much for your replies.
Max cpu temp under load I've seen is around 47C. When the x1950 manages to run WoW, I haven't seen it go higher than 70C. It generally stays in the low 60Cs.
Your link doesn't work for me Fredrik  :(
Aaron, I believe your kind link is to lead me to the ATI drivers. I have the latest ATI drivers installed (I've put the x1950 back in again). I was just wondering if there could be some conflict between my mobo and the x1950. and maybe a bios or chipset update.
I completely purged all the drivers with Drivercleaner. Didn't realise that the Drivercleaner I had been using was a very old version, so I bought the latest version. Hopefully this may be what my problem has been, because the next logical step I think, would be to format  or buy a more powerful PSU although my current PSU is supposed to be powerful enough.
I haven't tried WoW yet, because I'll be really sad if this hasn't worked.
I've just found that my graphic card is sharing the same IRQ as my soundcard. I've got a feeling that this is bad.......don't know why and I don't know how to change it if it is bad.

  • Live Update and Norton Anti0Virus

Upon startup after installing Snow Leopard 10.6.2 I get 10 little dialogue boxes with a code 9 and/or 10 from Norton AntiVirus saying reinstall Norton or go to LIve UpDate. Problem is I show no Live Update in my Spotlight and Norton won't let me make any adjustments. It's like the software has disappeared. How can I get rid of these annoying little dialogue boxes and get Norton working again?
    Thanks,
    Peter

    Hi ComicRef;
Sure, use the only good code Symantec has ever written, their uninstaller. Use that to remove Norton and it will free up a lot of resource that Norton AV was burning up looking for nothing for your use.

  • Neo2 defaut FSB frequency , live update and core center issues

    Hi,
This is the point : i bought a brand new 915P Neo2 last week,
out of the box results : Windows XP SP2 install is OK right
now, Graphics Card is working properly but the system is
    still unstable !
--> I decided to install MSI core center but while running
      pc freezes !
---> tested MSI live update, packets download is working
but the tool is still unstable and pc freezes .... while testing system...
---> tested a small utility (third party) from intel website
to compute P4 target and actual frequency
this tool reports that my p4 is running at 3.24 Ghz,
I double checked and found that defaut FSB was set to 810 Mhz
even after hardreset and bios safe mode, CPU is running at 203 Mhz * 16 = 3248 Mhz
I really dont understand why reset value has been set to 203 Mhz ?? why not 200 Mhz
    so MSI 915 P  defaut setting is 1 % overclocking strategy ?
the bios setup is not really taken into account ??
have you ever pointed out this problem with defaut frequency ? is this a problem ?
what is your opinion regarding MSI utilities ?
I have a lot of random pc freezes, too many for this board !
    all advices are welcome !!

I don't usually recommend bios updates, but you should seriously consider it if you can get the board to run stable.
Test your ram with  Memtest86. This should give you an indication if you can do a flash from DOS, plus it will test the ram for you.
Try setting your FSB to 201. On the 865/875 boards that will hold the setting. 203 is typical of MSI and other manufacturers, but it really isn't high enough to be considered overclocking, and certainly isn't high enough to cause problems. But it keeps them in the race with the others when the reviewer's determine which board is best by looking at the decimal places.
You don't list your power supply data. Power and ram are the usual culprits, with heat being another.

  • Live Update and MSI download problems

While doing some updating to my system I have encountered some problems with Live Update 5 as well as the downloads from the MSI support site for my P67A-GD65(B3) mobo.
LU5 is incorrectly determining some driver/file versions for things and it is not actually updating these things when I run the download and install option. LU5 tells me I have Intel Management Engine driver version 7.1.50.1172, but the version I actually have on version 7.1.21.1134 on my system. LU5 also incorrectly says I have Intel INF version 9.2.0.1021 when I have 9.3.0.1021.
When I run download and install from LU5 it does not update the Intel ME driver to version 1.1.52.1176. On the MSI support site under driver downloads for my mobo/Win 7 64-bit the driver version listed for the current Intel ME driver is listed as 7.1.2.1176 MSI Support: P67A-GD65(B3) downloads, but when I run the setup exe from this download it installs driver version 7.1.21.1134.
Anyone experience anything like this or have any suggestions or solutions...or should I contact MSI directly about this?

Recommend not to ever use LU5 for drivers or especially a BIOS update. Get the files manually from the Website and install them. Contact MSI if you want and discuss it with them.

  • Live Update and Video Driver

I am on Windows 7 with a K9A2 mobo and an ATI Radeon 4800 Series video card. Windows 7 shows a driver installed as:
"Advance Micro Devices 11/16/2012 Version 8.970.100.7000"
    Live Update shows me:
"VGA Driver ATI Version 3.0.745.0 Uninstalled"
Is this VGA Driver worth installing ? What is the difference between the VGA Driver and the already installed Windows 7 video driver ?

download drivers for your graphics card from AMD as they will have newer versions then MSI have for that card! http://support.amd.com/en-us/download (just select Desktop Graphics - HD series - 4xxx and then select your OS)
the one windows 7 installs is just a version they have for your card and may be outdated or buggy so i would suggest getting your VGA updates from AMD directly!

  • [Athlon64] Failed Bios update with both Live Update and Dos version = badchecksum shutdown

So I tried to update my bios on my Neo 7030.  I was having issues with my sata drives not being detected.  I thought I would give it a try.  The windows udpate gave me an error so I tried the Dos version.  I left the update going overnight to wake to the same screen.  So I restarted the computer and now I get a Bad Check Sum error and the system shutsdown.  I have cleared the cmos, taken the battery out, disharged left over power, etc.  Is my mobo dead?  I bought it sept 04.  The bios was the 05-11-11 build in live update.

Sometimes bios recovery is a long shot .

  • Live Update and Intel ME Download

I have a Z97 MPower Max board.  Live Update tells me there's a later version of the Intel ME drivers.
After downloading the update, I get a message saying the update will be installed after a reboot.  When I reboot, nothing ever happens.
How can I install this update?
    Thanks

    Hi
Here is latest available Intel ME straight from Intel's website: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/24499/Intel-ME-10-Management-Engine-Driver-for-Intel-NUC
Alternatively go to your product site on www.msi.com and you can find all latest (usually latest) drivers on that site.

  • Live Update and CNSSelector

I installed 10.10 this morning.  Once installed I began getting a message that Norton Anti virus was not working.  I needed to update Java Runtime and then Live Update.  I updated java, verified it was the latest and greatest version.  However, after attempting to run live update again, I continue to get that message........ I have to update java and then run live update.  Why?  any help?  Thanks
Secondly........ I now get a block message asking me if I wish to allow something called CNSSelectoragent.app to run and allow network connections.  I have no idea what it is.  I just select yes and continue on.  But I get this message at every log in or start up and never had it before.  It is quite annoying.  Can something be done about this?
    Thank you

Seriously, Norton is a known cause of performance and stability problems on Macs, and it does a worse job protecting you against malware than Mac OS X does right out of the box.
If you feel that you must have anti-virus software on your Mac, use ClamXav:

  • Off the shelf Flash chart with live update and slider?

Does anyone know of any good off the shelf Flash line chart
    that has
    1. Live AJAX-type update of data (without reloading entire

    2. Horizontal axis slider to be able to zoom in (like the

    I have been using

    Hi,
it was a bug, corrected in patch 4.0.1 (bug 9868860), see http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/apex/application-express/401-patch-166923.html#BABJCAFA.
It's why it don't works with APEX 4.0.0.
