Live Update confused about versions installed?

I have a MSI Neo4 Platinum and first I installed the Marvell LAN Drivers via Live Update (Version 7.14.1.3). This driver did however seem to be very unstable (the network connection dropped after a few minutes of use), so I went to Windows Update and picked the Marvell Driver there. It shows up under the Driver Tab as version 7.29.4.3". This driver seems very stable and my dropped connection problem is gone. I had this problem on two different installations of this board.
When I now run Live Driver, it incorrectly reports that my current version is 7.14.1.3 (not 7.29.4.3). It is obviously confused about shich version I'm running.
Anyone else seen this problem?

olavt,
Do not bother with Live Update. If you want to update anything, do it manually. Also for Mobo Drivers, usenVidia nForce Drivers
Take Care,
Richard

[Athlon64] Failed Bios update with both Live Update and Dos version = badchecksum shutdown

Sometimes bios recovery is a long shot .
But the award bios v.6 is supposed to be able to do it if the bootblock is still intact.
Best way seems to be to strip it down to minimal configuration , disconnect all drives except floppy , one ram module , perhaps without video card also .

  • MSI Live Update 5 & 6 concurrently installed, which to keep?

I have MSI Z87 MPOWER MAX Intel Z87 Motherboard, and am using Windows 8.1
Somehow, I ended up with two separate Live Updates.
    1.  Which one should I be using? (Presuming 6)
    2.  Any information on how to uninstall the unwanted version?

    Hi,
    1) I suggest removing BOTH and simply use product site for driver updates. Safer and more accurate
    2) Simply use Programs&Features to uninstall unwanted version

  • [Athlon64] Failed Bios update with both Live Update and Dos version = badchecksum shutdown

So I tried to update my bios on my Neo 7030.  I was having issues with my sata drives not being detected.  I thought I would give it a try.  The windows udpate gave me an error so I tried the Dos version.  I left the update going overnight to wake to the same screen.  So I restarted the computer and now I get a Bad Check Sum error and the system shutsdown.  I have cleared the cmos, taken the battery out, disharged left over power, etc.  Is my mobo dead?  I bought it sept 04.  The bios was the 05-11-11 build in live update.

  • Live Update 2 BIOS version

Has anyone tried updating the BIOS on the Neo FIS2R via Live Update 2 lately? Is it still v1.2 or the new v1.4? And, did everything run okay during & after the update? Thanks!

Richard - Good news ... I finally have Windows recognizing all 128MB of video memory.
Some body - I tried reinstalling mobo drivers and couldn't get it to work.
AGP aperature is set to 64MB at the moment and it is working.
It seems to me that something got corrupted in Windows and the registry was loading the nvidia drivers along with the msi drivers.  Also I found entries in the registry referring to my previous video card and I don't know if that contributed to the problem also.
I ended up doing a clean install of the OS and it is working at the moment.  I check the adapter properties as I install software to see if there is something I'm installing that screws it up again.  So far so good.
For anyone that is interested, here is what I did exactly:
    1. Format HD
2, Install Windows XP Pro with SP1
    3. Intel chipset inf
    4. Intel application accelerator
    5. Downloaded/installed all updates available at Windows Update website (excluding drivers)
    6. Install Nvidia 43.45 drivers
    7. Install other device drivers
    8. Install software.
I'm still need to install the remaining software, but at this time it looks like the problem is fixed.
Richard - Thanks for your patience and all your help!!  I appreciate it!!

  • 10.10.3 supplemental update confused About this Mac

After the supplemental update my mac book pro has incorrect information in About This Mac. The storage tab shows that I have 223.86GB free of 249.77GB. That is correct. The graphic shows the entire disk consumed by Backup(140.74TB yes TB). This is obviously incorrect. IStat menu also has incorrect disk usage information as well and is reporting 140.96TB free.

    I have 10.7.3
I am wanting to find out if I have the Mac OS X 10.7.3 Supplemental Update installed ?
Because I am unable to see it in the Installed Software section of Software Update.
I am also unable to install the Mac OS X 10.7.3Supp.dmg file.
I click on the file and it opens a dialog box saying it is Verifying.
It then opens up a window in the background.
    The window contains this icon:
When I Double Click the the icon, it comes up with the dialog window to install the update.
When I get to the step where I select where I want the file to be installed, this domes up:
    What does this mean ?
Do I already have the Update installed ?
How do I install the Update ?

  • All confused about versions!!

    Hello,
I'm sorry if this has already been explained in parts else where, but I need a totally fresh clear picture of what is going on. This is my problem, although I would say I am fairly comfortable with Java programming; and I go enjoy it alot, I am only just about comming to grips with all the different versions and the ways in which it is organised. This is where my problem lays.
I am using jdk1.3.1, and Forte version 2. I take it this is J2SE. Now I want to start programming Secure Sockets (am working on client server architecture), however from searching through the different classes available I found that I don't have javax.net.ssl. So I think.. lets just download J2EE. But from the looks of it all the specifications required do not list Windows 98 which is what I am (still?!) using. I am stuck... can I just download classes?! I don't know what to do.
Somebody please help a confussed DOS C/C++ programmer :-)
    -thanks

javax.net.ssl is a standard part of the 1.4 API, the easiest way of using it could be upgrading to 1.4.1 or 1.4.2 Beta.
But maybe you can still download it from http://java.sun.com/products/jsse/ ...
Forget about the EE stuff, it's not what you need :)

  • 915P Neo2 - Live Update - IAA

I have a problem with Live Update on my 915p Neo2.
Live Update reports the latest IAA version as 4.5.0.6515 the installed version as 4.5.0.6515 but the actual installed version is 4.7.0.6815.
I have updated IAA separately outside of Live Update, but Live Update should show the installed version correctly as 4.7.0.6815 but it does'nt.
    Anyone?

I think you need to dig to the device manager and check the real driver version. Live Update may report the wrong thing? Or you actually didn't manage to install the later version?

  • MBOX K9VGM-V after Flashing the BIOS successfully Live Update crashes system

I recently purchased a barbones computer with the K9VGM-V motherboard.  After installing all the drivers on the disk, updating Windows 2000 competely through Windows Update I decided to try Live Update.  The first thing I updated was my BIOS from Ver. 1.6 to 1.7.  The flash was completely successful.  However when I went back to Live Update(the latest version btw) the minute I executed the program my system completely crashed!  It was like I had hit the reset switch.  I decided to format my HD and reinstall everything.  The BIOS works fine and the system is entirely stable, but even after starting with a clean slate I tried the Online version of Live Update and the same thing happened.  My computer crashed and restarted itself.  This happened after the BIOS flash so it must be related to that.  I am just not sure how or why.  Any suggestions or input?
    J.C.

    Read Moan Guide
So you have crash only when trying to using LiveUpdate or? If yes just ignore it and do not use LiveUpdate

  • MSI live update 3 ver. 3.73 hangs

I have this recent problem, that live update hangs detecting my installed version of bios, line driver etc. during autosearch.  I can terminate the process pressing the stop buttom but that also terminates the search. Previous version 3.62 was working ok. Does anyone have a similar problem

I just tried it and had no problem, but it could be the server you're connecting to or, more likely, some node you're being routed through that's havining an issue with and it's timing out.
I would give it a day or two before you become concerned. Many people here don't recommend using LiveMonitor/LiveUpdate at all, especially for bios updates.
I've used LM/LU to update the bios 3X without any problems, but make sure you don't have any stability issues, programs running that may interfere(especiall AVs, Firewalls, etc.), and you're not OC'd while doing the update.
Also, if it isn't broke or the update doesn't address some new ability you need, I wouldn't mess with updating it at all. The addage, "if it 'aint broke, don't fix it" really applies with bios flashing.

  • Live Update 3.7

Live update found new version of Live Update 3.7, but new version will not install!!! run setup and nothing happens. Any help would be appreciated!

Had same problem, Live update came up wanting to download and update live update 3 to a new version.
I clicked on download and the computer downloaded and started to update,
Installer found the old verision and said it had to uninstall it. So it did then showed it was loading the new version, then showed
    it had finished.
Screen ask if I wanted to start live monitor click ok. So I did, the I got the Blue Screen of Death.
Had to reset the computer to restart. Windows XP Pro Sp1. Came back up but Live Monitor or Live update not running, Shortcuts do not work. If I go into the live monitor folder and click to start the program I get the Blue Scrn of Death again.
So I went to Add Remove Programs to remove bad program but NO MSI programs but my MSI DVD shows up.
What do you think I should do at this point???   There is an MSI folder with files in the C:\program area.
    Let me know

  • Live Update Download Error

Whenever I use Live Update and go to install a new download it fails.  As it downloads, the counter goes from 0 - 99 and when it reaches 99 it comes up with Error Code:0.  , and stops the download/install.
I have tried this for a number of different driver updates, but all the same.  I connect via a proxy server, and don't know if this is a problem, but as it starts downloading it should at least continue and finish the download.
I have uninstalled and re-installed the Live Update software but it still comes up with the error.
    Any help appreciated.

    Hi seewilson,
Please could you list some system details?????? Please see sig below for a guide....
It is best to flash bios DOS based than LiveUpdate........

  • Cannot finish update with live update

Every time I try to update my drivers with live update 2 (latest version), It starts downloading and then just stops and NEVER finishes the download.
    Anyone got any suggestions?

    JErnst,
I didn't use the MSI WHQL'd 2920 driver, but i suspect it's the same as the one I did use, as it doesn't come with a Setup.exe
However, all you've got to do is to go into the Control Panel...System...Hardware....Device Manager.  Select your Display Adapter (graphics card), rt-clk and select properties
On the Driver tab, select update driver, and select the location where you unzipped the drivers.  It should require a reboot.
