Live update doesn't run

Hello all,
I ve just instal a MSI K8N NEO2 PLAT whit a x²3800. My bios is 1.5 , maybe it's becouse I just have a single core on XP
So i tried to flash the bios by MSI LIVE UPDATE, but it can't connect to the server or any else, I don't know. Have u got an idea please ??
Thanks a lot.

I ve got the last version (3,77) of LIVE UPDATE. I try to download update for my mobo since 2 days and always it's the same problem. "Set your web connection or server is down". So is the problem coming from me or it's coming from live update server ??
I d never try manual flash and I prefer do it on windows, more easy for me ....
Is there a software another else for flash bios under windows ?
Thx.

  • Need BIOS Live Update Doesn't Work!!!! + S3 Sleep Resume Problem

Most frustrating.  Live Update doesn't work and can't find download link for a new BIOS.
    My System:
    MSI P6NGM-FHI (1.1)
    E8200 Core 2
    MSI Geforce 6600 128M
    Vista 64
    Seagate 250g x 2 Raid 0
Want to update Bios to see if it will fix sleep problem
My system enters S3 sleep.  But doesn't wake up.  Fans start up but screen remains black.  I have to unplug for some time to reboot.
I want to try new 1.2 bios to see if it will fix my problem.  But can't find BIOS file anywhere.  Most frustrating...
And that stupid Live Update doesn't work!!!!!

    -  Update CPU Micro Code.
    -  Update NVMM version.
    -  Fixed system cannot resume from S3 with E6xx series CPU.
If its BIOS related you will need a future version, since you have E8xx
Have a ask MSI here: http://ocss.msi.com.tw/
    What OS you are running?
Have you tried latest VGA drivers?
How is configured Recall VGA from S3 in BIOS?

  • Pages 4.2 update doesn't run with Snow Leopard

I keep both Montain Lion and Snow Leopard on the same computer, different partitions. After upgrading Pages this week, it no longer runs under Snow Leopard.  The icon changes and a launch message says I can't use this version with Snow Leopard. It looks like this is true of all the iWorks apps. This is the first time I recall the iWorks suite not being backwards compatible.
My advice is to keep a backup copy or older iWorks releases if you need to run Snow Leopard. The App store only has the Mountain Lion version so I can't just download the SnowLeopard compatible version.

The same exact thing happened to me. I have a thread on this same issue but no one has responded. Did you find a way around this?

  • Software-Update doesn't run Installations anymore

    Hi there,
after I installed Snow Leopard, a few days later a wanted to update to iTunes9 and the new securitiy update. The software updates finds all the updates and the are listed on the screen but when I press install and accept terms and conditions nothing happens anymore. The list with the update to install remains on screen. Even when I want to reinstall Snow Leopard from CD no installation will start. Anybody else with similar troubles? What to do???

A fix I recently saw, posted by V.K., pertains perhaps only to those using custom keyboards. On the other hand, it may be more general. If you are not using a custom keyboard, then the possible fix should not do any harm. Here it is.
Set your keyboard to the standard US layout if not already done. Then, delete this file: /users/username/Library/Preferences/ByHost/com.apple.HIToolbox. Next, log out and back in. Then try installing whatever you have been having problems with.

  • Is Live Update helpful yet, or still more problems than fixes?

    Hi
my 180 has been running decently for a while now.  The only thing that still makes me want to hang myself is this asinine problem with the sound card occasionally disappearing, requiring an unplugged reboot.
I shut off live update a while back because it seemed to create more problems than it fixed. can anyone confirm whether there is anything in there that addresses the sound card issue?
Also, there appears to be a new BIOS featuring an option to "Enable USB Keyboard Latency".  I am currently using a wireless USB keyboard and mouse with no problems.  Do I care about the new BIOS?
Here's my current version info (mine on the left, MSI's on the right)
    BIOS-   3.3      3.5
    Live VGA Driver-   4467      6681
all other are up to date with live update.  I have been very gun shy about letting it update these, since it seemed to cause so much trouble over the summer.  Can anyojne shed some light on whether these updates are necessary?
    tia!

okay, i guess it is a deluxe model. i initially thought the deluxes were the ones that could run dvds in hifi mode.
anywho, it finally lost the sound card again.  it was an interesting feeling being excited about it for once, because i could continue this thread.
the speaker icon in the taskbar disappeared, and the nvidia drivers vanished from "sound, video, and game controllers"  device manager (both nforce codec and nforce processor). msi live update doesn't find anything new, but just for giggles i clicked "update driver" from the properties tab on both, and windows was able to find new drivers.
at this point, i assume that noone has found a solution, so I'll keep updating this thread for those who are fellow sufferers.
Another thought on the heat issue, the outside temps hit 66 degrees fahrenheit today (who said january?), so i wonder if that raised the temp in the cabinet just enough?

  • Norton Anti Virus  Live Update stopped working after last system update

    Hello,
I am using Anti- Virus version 11 for MAC. It has worked fine for years. Now Live Update will not run.
I have tried reloading and nothing helps. Is anyone experiencing this problem.
    Alice

    FYI:
Norton Anti-virus software is the worst app to install on a Mac. It will slow down the drive and cause all sorts of system issues. Delete Norton and get ClamXav available here, and it's free:
    http://www.clamxav.com/
There are no known Mac virus. If you really think anti-virus software is necessary, then use Clamxav. It can detect a trojan horse and malware both.

  • 925XE AND MSI LIVE UPDATE

I purchased a 925XE Platinum from MSI; using an Intel 550J 3.4Ghz; Kingston DDR2 PC3200 400 Mhz (2 1 Gig sticks); Nvidia 7800 GTX OC; in an ANTEC P160 with Smart power 2.0 500W; 2 74 G RAPTORS in RAID and a 320 G western digital - all SATA; running XP Pro with service pack 2.
Had trouble getting sound so I downloaded the latest C-Media Azalia Audio Drivers, Driver version: 5.12.01.0008.60 for the 925XE.  I had to manually download since Live Update would not run (more on that in a sec).  I have sound now, way too much. First notch of volume is tolerable but anything more starts to rattle the windows.  This could be realted to the problem above.
I see on the MSI website that there are a number of downloads (drivers, BIOS) that the 925XE may need.  The problem is the inability to run Live Update.  I can download the program and install, but when I reboot the PC, it goes into a sequence of auto reboots and will not stop until I snag the load with F8, enter the safe mode for XP.  I then have to uninstall the Live Update program, restart the PC and everything is fine.
I still need to download the updates (I believe just because of the magnitude of the problems) but cannot get there.  Suggestions?
    Mick

You can download drivers from http://www.msi.com.tw/program/support/driver/dvr/spt_dvr_detail.php?UID=635&kind=1 directly.

  • Live Update 5 problem on P67A-GD65

Went to run Live Update yesterday, and nothing happened. Clicked the shortcut again, and get a message box saying "Live Update is already running".  If it is already running, it is doing so in silent, invisibility mode.....no instance can be found of it in Task Manager.  I have tried uninstalling, reinstalling with older version saved to HD and latest version straight from website with no change.  The only thing I can see that has really changed since the last time I ran Live Update, is that I have installed service pack 1 for Win 7.  Any ideas?

  • Live Monitor doesn't detects my updates

    Hello all
Been browsing arround the forums, but could't realy find this issue
    Question #1
I have installed a brand new windows, and the first thing I installed was LiveMonitor ver 3. I leted LM (LiveMonitor) detect what drivers needing updates, DL:ed them and installed them. After several reboots I had installed them all I though  . So I rerunned LM and did another autocheck, and I got exactly the same result!
I went in and checked the driver versions manualy in DeviceManager, and there all drivers look updated.
    The system I have is:
    MSI RS480M2-IL
    AMD Athlon 3500+ (130nm)
2*512 MB kingston KHX3200UL HyperX (I can't understand if that is an OK mem or not)
    Question #2
Should I be able to run a 64-bit OS on this machine? I tried both Microsoftand Novell (SUSE). The Linux fails initializing a table while mounting SWAP, and stands in a DoNothingLoop. Numlock and CapsLock works fine though. When trying to boot from MS 64 bit CD, the computer doesn't detect it sa bootable . I even tried DL and ISO  , burned it and got the same problem
    well, thanx in advance and

Live Monitor and Live update only properly detect MSI's own drivers. If you installed Windows without using the MB CD with MSI's drivers or got them from a site on the web other than MSI then they won';t be properly detected. No matter as most of the drivers at MSI or on the CD are dated anyways. Better to roll your own setup than to deal with older drivers.

  • HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Run/Live Update 5

When i run Trojan Killer (computer scanner) it shows up that the following string :HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Run/Live Update 5: has a "Target not found" error, and needs to be removed, but when i go into regedit and go to
that spot, there is no Live Update 5 there? so what am i supposed to remove ? o.O

    1. Junkware Removal Tool (JRT) is a unique little program that searches for and removes common adware, toolbars and potentially unwanted programs (PUPs) from your computer.
Download JRT.exe (make sure nothing else is downloaded) from the author’s site here
    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/junkware-removal-tool/
It runs in a command window and can take up to ten minutes to complete. Don’t interrupt it if it appears to be doing nothing, particularly when it’s checking the registry. You may have to right-click the shortcut and choose ‘Run as administrator’. A log
file is created on the Desktop and both the program (JRT.exe) and the log file can be deleted when you’ve eventually finished with it.
    2. In the unlikely event that JRT doesn’t find the culprit, read and then download AdwCleaner by clicking Download Now at BleepingComputer, here
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/ Make sure you download AdwCleaner and not any of the other ‘foistware’ on the page.
Simply follow the website instructions to run it, i.e. close all open programs, including internet browsers, then double-click on Adwcleaner.exe. It doesn’t take very long to run and when you have finished with it, run it again and click Uninstall to remove
    everything including the log files.

I wanted to have the SSDs in RAID0 with Win7 and the games on it, then a volume on the 2TB that the RAID backs up to, with the remaining 1.5TB just free storage space in another volume.  I couldn't get raid past Win7's Where Do You Want To Install screen during installation, so I ended up installing the OS on just one SSD.  I figured I'd backup the functioning OS to the 2TB then rebuild the RAID array and copy the OS back onto it.
The system had been up an running for a full day, being updated left and right nonstop, several big games put in, etc etc, everything was running fine until I decided to run MSI Live Update and started pumping in updates.  Constant errors as I went along, but generally it'd just skip to the next installation attempt.  When it got down to updating the BIOS and did it's DOS injection thing, it for forcefully shut down the PC, restarted, did Post, flashed the BIOS wallpaper, restarted again, Posted, no BIOS wallpaper, just endless "Missing Operating System".  Walked away, went to bed, back up and at it for a few minutes (Will be back tonight for however long it takes to get it fixed).  I switched the BIOS switch over, no dice.  Feels like it's a BIOS "OS" that's gone, and that a BIOS reset/flash is in order or something, but I've never done these things.
Thanks in advance for any rendered assistance that leads to resolution.

The SSDs are definitely hooked up where they're supposed to go; the motherboard had a little sticker n' everything for where the two SSD dedicated SATA 6.0gbps ports were :P  AND my case has 2 specific slots for SSDs which don't use the hotswap electronics PCB passthrough like the other 4 bays, which is where the 2T is installed.  I was going to take the 2TB out and hook it up normally and see if that changed the speeds, but I'm leaning towards wishful thinking.  Did I mention I went and made several volumes with different file cluster sizes to test and see if that was the issue?  Alas, all were borked.  It still confuses me though because every once n' awhile it'd do massive burst speeds the way it's supposed to.
As far as I can recall I'm using up to date BIOS, the last one or two.  One BIOS switch is set for the last BIOS, the other switch is a step back devoid of the Windows 8 stuff.  I believe I have all the drivers up to date as well.  Intel 335's are literally brand new, mine hadn't been more than 3 weeks old off the production line when I received them; IE, they should pretty much have the latest firmware on them which spares me the risk of destroying something precious
I MIGHT have a SATA external enclosure around here somewhere, if so, the 2TB could go in that for additional testing until I figure out where it's sustaining speeds of 2-10MB vs 100-150MB/second.
Meanwhile, the good news is that the system has been fully operational and hella stable.  I hadn't slept in almost 3 days, playing and installing stuff nonstop.  The system continues to run cooler (32c@stock CPU speed) as the thermal paste sets in, the knocking sound of the fan in the PSU has gone away upon me reawakening a bit ago, and amazingly, this massive system (with EIGHT fans) draws only 60-65 watts while desktopping.  That's just astounding

  • I keep getting a message saying my protection engine has corrupted and that i should try re-installing live update. What is live update and how do i run it? - be grateful for any help

    Hi,
I turn my i mac on and when it has loaded onto the home screen I get a message popping up saying my protection engine has corrupted and that i should try reinstalling live update and my computer will no longer be protected until I do so. Would anyone be able to tell me what live update is and how I would run/reinstall it? - be grateful for any help!!!
    Thankyou

It would be a great idea to uninstall Norton - you don't need it and it has a pretty poor reputation for mucking up otherwise healthy Macs.
Have a look at this User Tip from klaus1: https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-2435
    To uninstall Norton:
    https://support.norton.com/sp/en/us/home/current/solutions/kb20080427024142EN_En dUserProfile_en_us
Edit: To see whether you actually have Norton installed launch Activity Monitor in the Utilities folder. If it's installed you'll likely see some Norton entries there.
Also, in System Preferences>Users & Groups or Accounts, depending on OS)>Login Items, it might be listed.
