Live Update - How to Updade the drivers?

I have a K7N2 Delta motherboard.
I run the MSI Live Update and I got an answer that there are several new updates:
1) LiveBIOS, 1 update
2) Live Driver, 2 Updates
3) Live VGA Driver, 6 Updates
4) Live Utility, 8 Updates
Probably some drivers were not installed at all during the first set up that's the reason several of those appear as "Current Ver. Unknown" which means that the Live Update did not find the respective driver at all.
I know that flashing the new BIOS is not so easy, I must first download it, copy it to a floppy disk and boot from the floppy drive. Is there an on line guide on this process?
How can I update the other drivers, the Live Driver, Live VGA Driver, Live Utility?
Is it simple? How it works?
Should I just download the respective driver to a folder on my Hard Disk and then just run it from there?
Or it is more complicated?
Many Thanks

first off, if you don't need to update anything, then you can safely leave it as it is. don't forget the golden rule of computing: "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"
personally, i wouldn't bother using LiveUpdate, as it is easy enough to download and update drivers manually
without knowing more about the other hardware in your system (and the OS you're running) i can't advise exactly which drivers you can update, but generally
K7N2 is nforce2 board, you get your mobo chipset and system drivers (Nforce drivers) from nVidia Drivers
if you have a Nvidia Geforce VGA card, then you download the ForceWare display drivers from there also
if you have an ATI Radeon VGA card, download the Catalyst display drivers from ATi Drivers
if your system is running without major problems, i would definitely leave the BIOS as it is

How to get the drivers for  Dell PowerEdge M620.
    We tried downloading

How to get inf files for those?

As Jason pointed out, they can be extracted, I believe this can be done with 7zip also... Or you can just install one M620 from scratch, install the Dell drivers and then use this tool:

Without precise notebook hardware status list it is not possible to say what are you missing. Maybe you dont missing drivers but some tools and utilities.
I recommend you to download Installations instructions documents and install all stuff using this installations order. Like you can see there are many Qfixes but you must not to install all of them. If you have time it is ok, if not be sure SP2 is preinstalled and after first start Windows update using Internet explorer. All missing stuff will be installed automatically.

  • Live Update - how to know if its on?

Has anyone ever required to find out if current render call is during live update or not?
I would have imagined that it should be available at AEGP_GetCompFlags(), but its not!
In such case a smaller size image is usually passed to the render, but for small enough layer/comp sizes (e.g. 700x500) AfterFX thinks you are good off with such a size, and most importantly you cannot tell if Live Update button is pressed!
    greets

    Hi Mike,
Here's the answer I got back from the team:
It may be readable via the AEGP Persistent Data Suite, since it's stored in a pref:
    "Realtime Update Preference Section"
    "Use Modifier Key To Enable"
    Here is the scripting version.
    get state
    app.preferences.getPrefAsBool("Realtime Update Preference Section", "Use Modifier Key To Enable");
    set state
    app.preferences.savePrefAsBool("Realtime Update Preference Section", "Use Modifier Key To Enable", <new_state_bool>);
    app.preferences.saveToDisk();

    Hi, Wesam
Please take a look the following link

Generally HP compaq dc7700 is not supported with RHEL4.
so maybe you have to install their drivers manually.

  • ZENCast Update - How long till the next o

Any idea how long till the next ZENCast update?
I am still waiting to be able to transfer MP3 files to my ZV:M from inside the program with out it converting them to a Motion JPEG.
Imagine a podcasting program that can't transfer MP3s to the device it was made for. Crazy I know. I don't want to try the sync stuff again. That never worked for me. I just want to click transfer, decide what I want to copy over, and be done with it.
There are a lot of nice features I would like to see in it, like adding the recently transfered MP3s to a playlist (say, 'New ZENCasts' (which I currently do manualy)). But the simple ability to tell ZENCast Orgainser (I am an Aussie, we spell it with an 's') not convert MP3s to MJPEG, and just copy them over would be great.

This still does not address the original message.
Will there be a way in zencast to transfer an audio cast in it's nati've format into the zen vision:M as it's nati've format, i.e. as an MP3 and not an AVI containing MJPEG?

  • T61 BIOS update - how serious is the "brick" risk?

Reading through various posts here, it seems that it is either very easy to update the BIOS, or very easy to "brick" your system
Are there any known good methods?  Are there any tools that can back up the BIOS and if ncessary restore the BIOS using that backup?
Are there any "known bad" methods that are almost certain to brick the system?

You can do a bios update from your harddrive, you just cannot do it when booted into your 64bit windows version.
There are other options. You can start the compuuter with a Windows PE (pre-installation envoromennt) Live CD, then run the 32bit program from your harddrive. When you run it from an optical drive you introduce the risk of disc read error, as well as the fact that optical discs are much slower then a HDD.
I'm preparing to flash a 64bit version at the moment and I'll describe how I'm doing it. Part of this process is to install a backup operating system onto the computer, setup as dual boot. This way if I have any problems like data loss, I can start the computer from a different partition and run disc recovery programs on the main system drive (you sould never try to recover data on the same drive you booted from, so this is something I do with every computer I setup).
    1. Search and download a freeware program ccalled "Parted Magic". It's a partition manager based on a Linux LiveCD and runs without installing anything on your harddrive (runs fully in ram memory). I'm going to skip over the "how to use parted magic because quite frankly, it's so simple that anyone unable to figure it out shouldn't be flashing bios or installing operating systems.
    2. Resize your primary partition to give enough room to install a second operating system. I'm using a custom build of WinXP that only requires about 300mb, but I like to make the second partition large and use it for storage, that way any data loss on partition 2 can be repaired from your main operating system, and if I ever have to reformat my system drive, I can move any data I need to save to my second partition.
I generally give Win Seven or Vista a min of 20GB, but you can use a smaller partition if you're not going to install a lot of programs. This laptop has an 80GB harddrive and I'm making two 40GB primary partitions.
*note, if you want to mix WinXP and Windows Vista/Seven, you'll need to either install XP first, or repair the Vista/Seven boot manager that XP will overwrite. It's an easy fix but to keep this simple I'll avoid any unnecessary instructionns.
After you finish making your second partition formated with NTFS, simply boot your Windows install disc and select the second partition and install.
You'll now have a second windows version.
Assuming you selected a 32bit version, you can use it to run anything that won't run under win x64.
If you prefer to boot from a WinPE disc, you can download the software you need to make it direct from microsoft. Here is a wikipedia article that will tell you more about this.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Preinstallation_Environment
You can also do a google search and you'll find many guides on making them. I would recommend you boot a winPE disc and do some exploring of your computer so you get the feel of it, and more important, so you can be sure it's running stabe on your system. You might even be able to run some of those old dos games that windows objects to running, so have some fun and get the feel of it.
If you can run even small basic programs from winpe, then you can be pretty sure it's stable enough to flash a bios. The problem with the bios boot disc is you have no oportunity to do anything,  it boots and flashes...  it won't decide "wait a minute, why is my screen flicering and power LEDs flashing, maybe I better figure this out first", it just proceeds forth like a good soilder, obeying orders even if they are fatal.
I hope this information is helpful, I believe it all to be accurate, but please remember that I'm not recommending you flash your bios, you have to make that decision.

This component is supported by Microsoft inbox INF USBPORT.INF on Windows7, there should be no need for "drivers" for this [very old generation ICH5] component?
Only old OS like WinXP etc would need to have non-inbox INF installed e.g. 82801EB USB Universal Host Controller - 24D2

  • Live-set: how to stitch the PROJECTS together

How can i put the projects behind each other with their own settings (including automation etc) in a way that it will keep all the tracks just like in individual state. Is it possible somehow to do that? i need it for live performance

Logic isn't really designed to have multiple songs with their own automation and mixer data in the same project.
You can do it, but it requires a lot of tedious work to copy songs and data into a new project, and reassign onto new audio objects and so forth.
Unless you really need to, I would consider bouncing out stems including the automation, and just bring these necessary tracks into a new project as plain audio files - this will be much cleaner, more efficient and easier to work with...

  • Nokia 6300 7.21 update, how big is the file?

    Hi,
I am not sure why it's taking long time to download the 7.21 update, I let it go to 50 meg, then 2nd attempt let it keep going up to 119 meg, seems a bit crazy why this is happening, need to know the actual file size, so I know it's downloading correctly.
    Thanks Brett

  • DB Update - How to Return the Number of Affected Rows?

I created a DB Adapter that updates a record. I'd like to know if there is a way to return the affected number of rows. Currently, the DB Adapter Wizard seems not to create a return for the generated XSD.
    Thanks,
    Mark

    > Is it by somehow possible to use some custom query
for this and use the 'returning'-clause to get the
results back from the DB-adapter. On these results
    you can do some counts.
    Thanks for your reply.
I have given a thought to that option too, however the issue is that, in order to use returning clause you have to use a temporary SQL variable which I believe can not be used unless we use a PL/SQL block (Please correct me, if I am wrong).
I wanted to get away with the option of re-querying the 'SELECT' or a PL/SQL Block. Any suggestions?
    Thanks & regards

  • Live update cant find bios 1.20 for the K9VGM-V

I have just recieved a MSI K9VGM-V board and just like last time i had a MSI board, i have problems flashing bios.
I have bios version 1.0 and i can see there is a 1.20 online version, but live update keep saying that the 1.0 that i have, is the newest version.
    C:\Programmer\MSI\Live Update 3\MSI.htm
I have tried the, how to flash bios, procedure that comes with the downloaded bios, but without any luck.
    Any good ideas.
    Thank you.

Do you have problems with the board?
    If not, don't flash.
    I have seen the sticky
I dont have any problems with the board, but i also think that there is a reason why bios updates are released.
I think that, normally the newer bios have more options etc..... just my opinion.
Perhaps it is also because boards like asus and gigabyte are so easy to update and switch back, if you preffer a older bios.
I flashed my older K9N platinium with AFUD.....is that possible with this board?
K9N being ami and the K9vgn-v is award bios?

When we go live, then how to adjust the stock in the system as per actual physical bin stocks in WMS?

your stock level get differed between storage level and warehouse level? if so go to LX23 AND EQUAL THE DIFFERENCE.
