- Disk Utility stopped verifying "Macintosh HD"
- error: This disk needs to be repaired using the Recovery HD

What gives? Should I be concerned? How to fix?

Edit: I see that testdisk and photorec belong to the same package... Still it looks like it should be the right tool for the job; but I might be wrong as I never used it.
Used it a couple of times, my daughter wiped photos from her mobiles memory card by accident .... Linux to the rescue

Could be that your screen is damaged or dying. Only way to know is to bring the phone to Apple for evaluation.

While i was updating it was failed for 3 times and then i started to update it again and then it was showing as the product verification could not be verified and the product verification may be damaged or not signed

In the article Resolve iOS update and restore errors this is what it says about error 14:
Check your USB connections
Related errors: 13, 14, 1600, 1601, 1602, 1603, 1604, 1611, 1643-1650, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2005, 2006, 2009, 4005, 4013, 4014, or “invalid response."
If the USB connection between your device and computer is interrupted, you may be unable to update or restore.
To narrow down the issue, you can also change up your hardware:
Use the USB cable that came with your device, or a different Apple USB cable.
Plug your cable into a different USB port directly on your computer. Don't plug it into your keyboard.
Try a different computer.
If necessary, resolve any further issues with the USB connection, then with your security software.
If you're still seeing the error message, check for hardware issues by following the next section.

Try these steps to resolve the issue:

Restore using another USB cable.
Restore your device on another computer.
If you continue to see error 4005, 4013, or 4014 when you restore your device, contact Apple for support.

Error -1 generally indicates a hardware failure.Your phone's broken. Buy a new phone, replace the phone through Apple or an authorised service provider, or find a 3rd party repair shop to attempt to fix it.

Preview show bad character size

Preview is showing bad font size(to big) in some PDF (no special font). the same PDF was allright in leopard and is good with acrobat.
You can see attached picture.
Any idea why ?

It won't solve your PDF problems, but I would un-install MacKeeper and consider un-installing SIMBL.

Without internet connection there is no way for you restore the iPad.

That error shows up when a phone is jailbroken or you are trying to downgrade the iOS version. Neither of which is supported by apple.

You can add them to a Shared Photo Stream.
