Live video for presentations

Hey guys,
i hope you understand my question:
I know, that the Socialize webcam got a feature, you are able to create live videos while a picture / (powerpoint) presentation is running. So you can talk next to the presentation and everybody see you in a small window in the right edge of the video. Does this function run with theOptia AF II, too?
Thanks for help.

  • Can I broadcast live video for 1000 users?

    Hi:
Is possible, using Flash Media Server, broadcast live video
    for 1000 users?,
how much bandwidth do I need?,
What system requeriment is need for this load (in linux)?,
What maximum video size and fps is possible to get?
    regards,
    Christian

You should have no problem serving a stream to 1000 users on
a single server (a dual xeon/2bg ram box ought to do it).
Your bandwidth requirements will depend on the bitrate of the
video stream. Multiply the stream bitrate by the number of users
(plus 1 for the publisher), and you'll get your bandwidth figure.
For example, if the video is published at 300kbps, you'll use
about 290mbps for your 1000 users.
For the video size, I wouldn't go much larger than 640x480.
The flashplayer doesn't use the video card to render video, and
redrawing the screen with a large video chews through lots of
    processor cycles very quickly.

  • Live video in presentation

I'd like to be able to show live video in a Keynote slide. That is, with my iSight camera hooked up, I want to show a KN slide w/live pictures. I will be demonstrating something on a table top and want it to show up on the screen for all to see. Is there any way to do that?
    Thanks.
    Tim

Actually, Broadcaster makes one, and it's the movie you'd then stick on your website to do live streaming. Instead, put this movie on your slide. It will give you a live feed from whatever your source is for the broadcaster...but again, you'll get about a 3 second delay, no matter how fast your computer is.

  • Encoding live video for the Wii?

I notice that FME and FMLE only allow VP6 and H264 as the
    video encoding options.
I understand that the Nintendo Wii, with its Opera browser,
can play back Flash Video that is in the Sorenson Spark codec. Is
it therefore possible to encode LIVE video using Sorenson Spark
that could be played back in the Flash player on the Wii?
Or, is it the case that the version of Flash that the Wii
supports will only playback pre-recorded Sorenson Spark video and
    not live streams?
    Thanks,
    D.

When live streaming was first introduced with FCS you would
utilize a web based encoder that utilized the spark codec and had
the same look and feel as the current desktop based software. This
was available from CDN's but could be built within flash as well. I
found a simple one which will achieve connect and publish to a
    server for you.
    http://www.flvhosting.com/download/index.php?file=1livestream_by_FLV_Hosting.zip
This one is simple but others do exist which allow setting
    framerates, video source, etc.

  • How to make images look like live website for presentation?

I've created a website mockup in Photoshop and need to present them online to a client. I'm wondering if there's a simple app or technique of how I can "play" the images so they feel like they're scrolling up and down or page to page like a live website? No clicking necessary, but maybe a nice 60 second loop "movie" (?) of the images in the browswer so they get the feel of how things will flow from page to page. Any creative ideas or links of others that have done this? Cheers.

In the effects panel type "light" in the search box. This will bring up all the lighting effects in Pr. Adjusr/Lighting or Stylize/Strobe might work for you. There are a lot of adjustments you can key in until you find what suits your needs.

    Well,
Initially we wanted the DMM,SnS for the Win Users

Currently we use the following: Camera--DME---Windows Media Services---SnS (For Windows) and

  • Stream live video - use http or rtmp protocols from player code?

I'm trying to stream live video for the first time. I've installed FMIS 3.5 without Apache 2.2. I'm confused on the RTMP/HTTP protocol usage,
I can only have port 80 opened on our FMIS 3.5 box.
    1. I've created a new directory under "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Flash Media Server 3.5\applications" called "livedev" as my publishing point.
    2. Question:
Do I need to copy main.asc, Application.xml, allowedHTMLdomains.txt, allowedSWFdomains.txt to this directory as well?
    3. Question:
Using FMLE 3 - FMS URL parameter which protocol do I need to use, does it matter 'http' or 'rtmp'? - http://localhost/livedev or rtmp://localhost/livedev
         Does RMTP use port 80.
    4. Question:
In my Flash Player code. I dragged an instance of FLVPlayback component, what URL do I need for the 'Source' parameter?
Which protocol do I need to use, does it matter 'http' or 'rtmp'? - "http://localhost/livedev/livestream" or "rtmp://localhost/livedev/livestream"
    Thanks,
    Dave

    A:
    2.  You don't need to copy main.asc unless you have logic in there that you want on your new application.  It's a text file so you can open and read it, get familiar.  allowedDomains is up to your security policy, but if you want it to apply to that application then yes.  Finally the Application.xml in there is an override of the default one in the server's conf directory - so you only need to include it if you plan on overriding settings from the default.
    3.  Chosing which type dictates whether or not you're doing HTTP (not streaming) or RTMP (streaming) however you've added a complication that you're only allowed to use port 80 - which RTMP does not by default.  FMLE doesn't support HTTP push to FMS, so the FMS URI must be fomr form of RTMP* so you're left with some good choices
Use RTMP over port 80 like so rtmp://myServerName:80/appName/ <- notice the coded port number
Use RTMPT which automatically uses port 80 and will get around most proxies that demand HTTP traffic - however there's more performance overhead than RTMP (think maybe 25% more overhead for a wild guess on my part)
I dunno the answer for your FLVPlayback component but I'm going to take a guess that the issue is about the same here and you should use the same parameter that you're using for your RTMP ingest.  At worst I'm pretty sure that it will work and that's not so bad.

  • Live output from After Effects for presentation?

can after effects output a live video feed of an animation for use with a video presentation system? if so, can after effects also output a live matte for keying that animation over another video signal?

    >if so, can after effects also output a live matte for keying that
    >animation over another video signal?
Sorry friend, even the thought of it is silly (no offence). Matte and Fill signals in the video world have a completely different meaning than what you do in AE. There is a reason why this segment of the broadcast market is dominated by dedicated systems from Chyron, Harris, Quantel, Orad, Virtus and others and not by After Effects. ;-) In short: You will have to buy one of those dedicated systems or at least a piece of software (there's a software-only version of Inscriber that supposedly can work on some capture cards) and that is going to cost some money. If you wanna have the quality you are used to in AE (full antialiasing, motionblur, blendmodes) it is going to really cost a lot. You should find a video rental company that offers such systems for tradeshows or sports events etc. and fetch a good price with them so you can lend one whenever you need.

    • Only if your video camera supports it.  Depending on how your camera works, you may need to add preview software to your Mac to use this feature.
    • Alternatively, your camera may also be able to record directly into your Mac while you are monitoring the Mac's display.
    • If you are using a consumer camcorder that supports HDMI monitoring, a small HDTV might be an simpler solution than your Mac.  For an example of how this is done, see http://youtu.be/GVpSkZD6qE4.
    • The retailer who sold you your video camera may have other suggestions.
    • If you need more professional results, an external preview monitor will offer more capability on compatible cameras.

  • Trying to loop/repeat a video for a continuous presentation on ipod touch

If anyone could help me out here, I'm trying to display a video from the ipod touch on a projector, it's just a 1 minute loop and so far I have no luck trying to get it to loop. I have tried to set it to repeat in photo libraries and play but it still never starts over. I have tried an app called CWG's Video Loop Presenter which seems to work but only on the ipod, and doesn't project the video into the projector. If you guys could help me out then that would be great. Thank you.

Thank you for the help, I resolved it a few minutes ago by making the video into a music video through the Get Info option and it is now in my Music app and I'm able to loop it just like I would loop a regular song.
    Thanks!

  • Embedding video for a CD Presentation

    Hi,
I used to know Flash, but haven't used it in a couple of
years. I'm working on a project now using 2 large, 16-second AVI
videos I created with Bryce 5.5 (355 MB each). The project is for a
90-second self-executing Flash presentation for business card CDs
(60 MB capacity). The storyline is as follows:
5 second company splash screen (Fade in/Fade out)
    Begin music/narration
    Video 1 (16 seconds)
    Video 2 (16 seconds)
1 minute of displaying photos and bulleted graphics
    highlighting points
5 second company splash screen (Fade in/Fade out)
    End music/narration
I'm having trouble finding information on importing my videos
to maintain their quality. (My demo piece, minus the 2D graphics
section, done in Windows Movie Maker using "Video for Local
Playback 2.1 Mbps" is fine. The 2 movies and two splash screens
together come to about 8 MB, and the video quality is good.) I take
it I need to embed my AVIs in Flash using the Custom Encoding, but
the default is a "Max Data Rate" of 700 kbs per second and the
    quality degrades terribly.
What is the maximum you would recommend for local playback on
modern PCs given the 60 MB space on the CDs and the storyline?
Note: the people to be given these business card CDs are likely to
    have decent computers.
    Thanks for the help.
    Matt

    Adrian,
If I'm not mistaken, you will get better results if you deinterlace your video when you encode, IF your source was in a DV/DV50 timeline, or anything where there is a lower or upper field dominance (check your sequence settings.) If you happen to have shot in any progressive format, then no, you don't have to deinterlace.
Now, the tricky thing is, you'll need the flip4mac plug-in to allow you to encode windows media files. In the advanced tab of your video settings in the flip4mac encoding window, look down at the bottom in the Frame Format input type to change the input type from "Progressive" to "Interlace - Lower field first" and then the output type needs to be "Progressive." This will deinterlace your footage.
Now, one thing you mention, is that this powerpoint needs to work on PCs and Macs. With windows media, you should be all clear on the PC side, but any newer mac will have to go and download the free flip4mac plugin, or windows media player for mac to be able to play it - a free download, but it will still require an internet connection, and the time to do that.
    Hope that helps,
    Chris
