Live view from my Canon 7D to my Macbook or iPad2?

I have a Canon 7d and a Macbook and an iPad2. Can I attach my 7D to my Macbook or iPad and see a live view as if I were looking at the back of my 7d? This is so I can see my subject on my macbook or iPad live as if I were in live view on the back of my 7d

Which OS are you on? As long as you're not on Lion, you should be able to do it.
You can accomplish this by using the USB cable that came with your 7D and EOS Utility. To download this app click here.

  • Live view from java to flex - blinking image

    i am trying to simulate a live view using a canon Camera.
    I am interacting with the cam using the CanonSDK, i get an image every a short period in order to simulate a video frame by frame. This works fine, i am using java to do the backend and send the images trough BlazeDS to flex.
    The problem is not getting the image, the problem is that when i load a new image using something like:
    image.source=my_new_image;
    the new image is loaded but it produces a short white blink and it ruins the video...So i would like to know if there is a way to use channels of streaming or some way to pass the set of images in live view to flex and show them in the interface of flex from java.
    Thank you very much!

    I have this same problem in an SWF that I have an external image loading into. In another SWF, I don't have this problem. In one instance, the image is at the start of the movie clip and at the other it's on the last frame of the movie clip. My only suggestion would be to load as many of the images as you can off-screen and then put listeners on the images to know they are loaded before you show them. You can do that by:
    this.addElement(image);
    image.addEventListener(FlexEvent.UPDATE_COMPLETE, imageLoaded);
    private function imageLoaded(event:Event):void{
    //image is loaded...

  • Live view from Aperature Tethering

    I just installed the onsoftware tethering app, and it works great, but noticed that you can get live view from it, and was wondering if you can do that from Aperature tethering on the Nikon D90?
    that would make tethering for me a lot more useful.

    It's extremely unlikely[*] that the Aperture 2 tethering feature currently supports Live View. That's the most proprietary part of the recent cameras that have this feature, and I know that Nikon introduced a whole new version of their own Camera Control Pro software to support it.
    * I couldn't say no, because I've honestly not tried it, but I'm 99.9% certain it's not there. It's not been documented/touted as a feature.

  • How do I extract video from my Canon Vixia HF M30 to my ipad2?

    I'm having a difficult time trying to extract video from my canon HF m30 camcorder to my iPad2. Tried sd card and direct USB connect. Also downloaded iMovie but that didn't help either. Are these 2 compatible? Help please

    Copied from this link.
    http://www.apple.com/ipad/specs/
    Video formats supported: H.264 video up to 1080p, 30 frames per second, High Profile level 4.1 with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; MPEG-4 video up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps per channel, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; Motion JPEG (M-JPEG) up to 35 Mbps, 1280 by 720 pixels, 30 frames per second, audio in ulaw, PCM stereo audio in .avi file format.
    I believe your camcorder records video in AVCHD format. If so, you will need to import the video with your computer and use a conversion utility to convert the video into a compatible format for transfer to your iPad.

  • How to view the "Live View" in Final Cut?

    Hi!
    I bought the Canon 550d yesterday, and after 30 minutes of use, I realized that the only way to get what you want in terms of focus is to just do it manually.
    The only problem is - I need to capture my own face, which means that I can't see anything on the camera screen.
    So, I saw that some youtube video makers have their "live" view in final cut, which I thought was brilliant, but I have no idea how to do it.
    So here's my question - how do I "view" the live view from my camera in FCP?
    Thanks for the help

    most yt-makers don't use FCPX, but designated tools like ScreenFlow which offers such an 'effect'. Like in this short advice I made for a friend ...
    for Importing a live-feed, read advice here

  • I would like to use my ipad 2 to get live view through my panasonic fz200. Possible?

    I have digital AV output from my panasonic lumix fz200. I have a lead which terminates in a USB plug. I know I can get a connector for my iPad2. What I can't seem to find out is if this will enable me to get a live view from my camera onto the iPad screen. This would help enormously in composing shots, as the view would be much larger than on the LCD screen of the camera.
    The camera also has HDMI output. However, I have been told that the iPad does not support HDMI input.
    All rather perplexing

    Unless the camera has support for remote viewing, there is likelly no way to get this functionality. I have seen certain Canon cameras with this functionality but that's with the use of a Canon created App that was availiable in the iOS App Store.

  • ROI in real view from camera

    Hello
    Is a possibility to create  a  rectangle on live view from camera and set it to ROI ?? ( i need the break in program, when i select the rectangle the program should be continiued) . I used select rectangle or IMAQ construct ROI but both of them take a picture. I need to do this on live view .
    Best Regards

    Are you displaying the image in an Image Display Control? If so, you can display ROI tools (Right click on the control, then select Visible Items>>ROI Tools>>Visible).
    You can then select a tool and draw an ROI in the display control that shows live image.
    To access the ROI from the diagram, right click on the indicator of the image display control. Select Create>>Property Node>>ROI.
    Hope this helps.

  • CS5 Dynamic Files Live View NOT WORKING

    Hi, I just installed CS5 suite. I'm trying to work on a Drupal layout.  I am trying to use a testing server off site.  When I try to connect it says the site definition is not correct for this server, but when I go into server settings both the testing and remote server connections work and connect as expected.
    Is this feature only available if you are running the live view from your local host?  If so, do I need to set up the websites on my Mac in my php HTML server folder?   That is a pain because I don't save my sites to my boot disk...
    Jeff

    Well, I found one problem. The upload is ftp but when it copied the testing server it listed the home url as ftp.domain.com instead of as www.domain.com
    I updated that and it now connects, but the template page in any of my Drupal themes all show up as blank pages.  I see that you can only edit the currently active theme. So far so good.

  • Live view to mac (usb) to take pictures

    I bought a mount to stick my iPhone 6 to my microscope, and I was wondering if there was a program that I could watch a live view from the iPhone to my mac mini using the usb cable. Seems like a simple enough thing, but I can't find a program to do it.

  • Canon 5d II video on the ipad2

    How can I view the video file from a Canon EOS 5D II on an iPad2?

    BernieA-
    If you have the 5D II and an iPad, I suggest you go ahead and get the Apple Camera Connection Kit.  I understand the Kit's USB adapter is compatible with the camera using its USB cable, for both JPG and Raw photos.
    Once you have the Kit, you can try it and let us know if the video is compatible!

    I am having some huge problems with my colorspace settings. Every time I upload my raw files from my Canon 5D mark II or 6D the pics are perfect in color. That includes the back of my camera, the pic viewer on my macbook pro, and previews. They even look normal when I first open them in photoshop. I will edit, save, and then realize once i've sent it to myself to test the color is WAY off. This only happens in photoshop. I've read some forums and have tried different things, but it seems to be making it worse. PLEASE HELP! Even viewing the saved image on the mac's pic viewer is way off once i've edited in photoshop. I am having to adjust all my colors by emailing myself to test. Its just getting ridiculous.

    Check the color space in camera raw, the options are in the link at the bottom of the dialog box. Then when saving make sure you save it to the srgb color space when sending to others. Not all programs understand color space and or will default to srgb. That won't necessarily mean it will be accurate, but it will put it in the ballpark. Using save for web will use the srgb color space.

  • Canon 6D will not focus or flash in "Live View" mode.

    My Canon 6D will not focus or flash in "Live View" mode.  I have a canon 430ex II  and a E-ttl flash connected with a sync cord for E-ttl function.  The camera does simulate shutter action, but no photo is taken.  How can I over-come this problem.
    Once in a while, after trying to take several photos it will start working, but usually not.

    Hi Shadowcat!
    Thanks for posting.
    It sounds like the AF Method is set to Quick Mode.  When the camera is set for Live View Shooting, there are different AF Methods that can be set.  In Quick Mode, the camera uses its dedicated AF sensor to focus when you press the shutter button down halfway.
    The image on the LCD will be interrupted while the camera tries to focus because the shutter closes and the mirror drops back over the image sensor.  This may look as though the camera is taking a picture, but it is not, it is only focusing.  No flash is fired during this process either.  Continue to hold the shutter button halfway until focus is achieved, at which point the image will return to the LCD.  Then you can press the shutter button the rest of the way down to take the picture.  The flash will fire and an image will be recorded.
