Live view - update automatically

is there an option to update the page automatically when a file has changed that it is tied to somehow when using live view?

Last night, I got the solution to this from Adobe tech support -- at least for me.  The technician suggested that I update my video card driver.
And also make sure that I had the latest version of Flash  player.  Apparently, CS5.5 has adopted a new way of previewing files that relys heavily on the video cache and the player, and old drivers are usually the problem.
I did this, and things work much better.  Still a bit doggy at times, but I can work with it.
He also suggested that I upgrade to Windows 7.  (I'm still using Vista)  ANd that I would see a "100% improvement".  I like the sound of that.  Haven't tried it yet....If anybody does, let me know how it goes.

  • Live View Updates Extremely Slow in DW 5.5

    I'm having a problem with the Live view update. I'm using the localhost as my testing server.  So, network speed shouldn't be an issue.  I'm on a Windows 64 bit, 2.2 gHz, Quad Core, 8 GB ram..so it should run relatively well.  But, I sometimes have to wait 2 minutes for the screen to update when I change something, turn off LiveView, then turn it back on.  You can imagine how this slows down development.  Every change takes 2 minutes to see?  Yikes!  It makes the product almost unusable.
    Is there any fix for this?

  • Live Bookmark of a vBulletin forum is not updated automatically

    I've subscribed to http://www.grimdawn.com/forums/external.php?type=RSS2, but I need to reload this Live Bookmark manually although I applied the 'Changing the automatic reload rate of Live Bookmarks' fix as described on http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Reloading%20Live%20Bookmarks, but to no avail.
    Another of my Live Bookmarks is updated automatically: http://www.tagesschau.de/newsticker.rdf

  • 13.1 update - lost live view + cant view page in chrome

    just installed the new update, site displayed fine before update, now it appears it has lost all css links, it doesnt display correctly in live view, or google chrome, but works gine in other browsers

    Can you please preview the page in Google Chrome, launch the Developer tools in Chrome (Ctrl+Shift+I on Windows or Cmd+Option+I on Mac). Click on the Console tab and tell us what error you are getting?

  • 13.1 Update: Live View is Borked

    My live view is borked as of 13.1 update. The design I was working with renders properly on my phone, properly in Chrome, but renders with a horizontal scroll bar in Dreamweaver CC live view. It's really quite annoying. Is there a fix coming?
    -J

    Unfortunately, I can't. I'm working on a localhost staging server. The deal is: the design I'm working on is a responsive design. I've tested the scrolling issues in all of the major browsers and none of them seem to be having a problem with this design. Just CC.
    It seems to think my site is just 10-20px wider than it really is. I'm playing with some more CSS rules to see if I can find the one causing issues.

  • 6D Live view sensor issue?

    Taking pictures in Live view mode makes a blue/green line in the bottom of my pictures, just one or two pixels high. Some of the raw converters remove this line automatically. Darktable didn't until I noticed them. Luminance HDR doesn't remove the line. RawTherapee shows the line in preview mode before the whole image is loaded. Shotwell Photo Viewer shows the blue/green line.
    I suppose all the software that I have used use dcraw, so it may be in dcraw the issue is and not in my 6D. But why then only in Live view mode?
    You will be able to download the raw file in about 4 minutes from now at http://kameratrollet.se/allt/IMG_9515.CR2
    Please check if the line is visible in your raw converter.
    In Digital Photo Professional I can't see any line, but the height of the picture is 3647 px. In Luminance HDR I get the height of 3670 px. If I shoot an image normally not using Live view, I get the same height.

    It appears to me that some of the software you are using is adding a couple rows of pixels to the bottom of each image for some reason. Easy enough to fix, but sort of a nuisance.
    Do you see the same thing happen in Canon's own softwares? Have you checked for updates and/or glitch reports for the software you are using?

  • CSS alignment disparities and fix: LIVE View & Browser Lab views

    The upper half is LIVE View in DW CSS5.5 while the lower left is IE 9 and the lower right is FF 11 in BrowserLab.  Why such a disparity between LIVE View and IE9 and FF11?  You may notice that the horizontal navigation bar is only properly aligned in the IE9 view.  In fact the IE9 is exactly as I want this dwt file to look like.  I am redesigning my current web site and working solely on the dwt file.   These are the dwt and CSS code views. Where do I start to have FF aligned as IE9 and to fix the misleading LIVE view image.

    I think it's fair to say Spry is not your best option anymore.  Spry 1.6 was a pre-release version made in 2006.  It neither works well in IE9 nor touch screen devices (iPhone, iPad, etc..) because it predates them.
    You could switch to Spry Menu 2.0 from the Widget Exchange (the last version made), but Adobe has abandoned the Spry framework in favor of jQuery:

  • Inserting SSL JavaScript prevents proper Live View operation

    Page in question located at:
    https://www.screamingeagles.com
    I added an SSL Certificate script to site, and on cross browser testing, all worked well. JS code located at Line 4 of  "index.html".
    However, on returning to DreamWeaver CS5 later in day, updated text content and clicked on "Live View", which brought up my "Custom Error" page. Then tried viewing with browsers available at local, that too failed and produced 404 error page.
    Error message: The file MenuScript.js could not be loaded!
    In the address bar, the first part of the URL showing was correct, but DW CS5 automatically added the continuing local path, (Bold) which then looked like this:
    https://www.screamingeagles.com/Users/MyComputer/MySites/ScreamingEagles.com/index.html
    On page validation (http://validator.w3.org/) I get:
    Line 4, Column 30: required attribute "type" not specified<script language="javascript">

    The attribute given above is required for an element that you've used, but you have omitted it. For instance, in most HTML and XHTML document types the "type" attribute is required on the "script" element and the "alt" attribute is required for the "img" element.
    Typical values for type are type="text/css" for <style> and type="text/javascript" for <script>.
    This tells me I have to update local settings but haven't a clue as to what or where. As always, help would be appreciated.

    Live view is interpreting the js code as written, the only way to stop this is to install a ssl certificate on your local testing environment, or comment the script out for testing.
    Error message: The file MenuScript.js could not be loaded!
    html4 and xhtml documents require the language="javascript" attribute to be included as part of the <script> tags attribute, but it can be omitted when using html5.

  • Text Fields Not Showing in Design or Live View

    Hello Everyone,
    I have run into a problem trying to create a simple contact form through Dreamweaver CS6.  I have two text fields for Name & Email, and 1 text area for Comments.  The issue I am running into is that the text fields are not showing in Design or Live view.  I have set-up all variables required for the server for the form to work... but that should not have any effect on the text field showing...  I tried uploading my contact page with the same result of no text fields showing...
    What is really laughable is that the "text area" I placed in my form for Comments shows up in Design & Live view just fine.  I am thinking that I am missing something, but just do not know what exactly.  The form is styled through CSS.
    Here is the form code:
         <div id="CRDForm">
           <form action="http://www.sweetformimi.com/formmail/formmail.php" method="post" enctype="application/x-www-form-urlencoded" name="contact" target="_self" id="contact">
        <input type="hidden" name="env_report" value="REMOTE_HOST,REMOTE_ADDR,HTTP_USER_AGENT,AUTH_TYPE,REMOTE_USER">
        <input type="hidden" name="recipients" value="[email protected]" />
        <input type="hidden" name="subject" value="Contact Form" />
             <label><p>Your Full Name
               <input name="Name" type="text" id="Name" size="40" /></p>
             </label>
             <label><p>Email
             <input name="email" type="text" accesskey="2" tabindex="2" title="Email" value="Email"></p>
             </label>
             <label>Comments<br />
             <textarea name="comments" cols="40" rows="10" accesskey="3" tabindex="3" title="Comments"></textarea>
             </label>
             <input name="submit" type="submit" accesskey="4" tabindex="4" title="submit" value="submit">
           </form>
        </div>
    Are there other variables I should be thinking about in the rest of my site?  I am using a fluid grid layout.  I have CSS for desktop, tablet, and phone devices.  I also have a primary CSS file that imports all three.  The sites structure was done by using <header>, <article>, <footer>, and of course <div> tags.
    Has anyone ever experienced the "text fields" not showing up before? Is it a simple fix as reinstalling Dreamweaver CS6?  Finally, another thing I should mention is that I did have a previous version of Dreamweaver on my comp, which was CS3.  I did not uninstall that before installing the newer version.  I assumed (and I could be wrong here) that it would automatically replace the older version.
    I apoligize for it being long winded, but I am looking for some help on this issue...
    Thank You

    Hey thank you osgood for the reply!
    When I look at code for long hours it sort of blurs together, and I miss things... I think that happens to the most of us
    Ya I found what was blocking my text fields in my desktop.css
    I primarily work through code view, and currently working on quite a few projects kind of makes your eyes miss the small errors.
    Thanks again!

  • Menu bar not showing in IE, but in DW CS5 'live view' it's there.

    I am having problems with my webpage, for some reason when I am in DW live view everything works,but when I go to preview in browser the menu bar doesn't show up. I have made sure that my local and testing server files are all synced. Here is a link to my html page.
    https://acrobat.com/#d=L2NJRmXay62Osbh8HtrMtQ
    my menu bar is an 'includes' file so that I only have to update the css one time and it will update every page on my website.
    ANY help is appriciated!!

    You would need to post your code into a reply using the web forum's double arrows > syntax highlighting > plain.
    1) Did you name your parent pages with a supported extension to tell the server to parse server-side includes? Some common ones are .shtm, .shtml, php, or asp.
    2) Does your web server support the use of server-side includes?
    3) To preview includes locally, you need a local testing server installed on your computer.  Do you have one?
    4) Does your include file contain ONLY the menu HTML code and nothing else?

  • View-Update in forms with Instead-Of trigger

    I has created a view and an Instead-Of trigger on that view.
    Now, I want to update this view in FORMS 6. I am unable to update this view and getting error FRM-40602.
    Is there any way to update this view updatable in FORMS6 or FORMS6 has not this feature?

    Hi,
    This has been acknowledged by Oracle as bug earlier. The work-around for this is as follows:
    1. Create table 1
    2. Create table 2
    3. Create view
    4. Create instead of insert trigger on view
    5. Create instead of update trigger on view
    6. Now, in the forms, go to the Block property
    7. Look for the 'Key mode' property. By default it is 'Automatic'. Set it to Updateable (If your database design supports updating primary keys) or Unique (preferable).
    8. Now run the form. It should work.
    All the best.

  • Can I use aperture 3 in live view shooting on my macbook pro

    Can I use aperture 3 in live view on my mac boook pro ?

    Why would you use two?
    It is much cheaper and better to simply use a usb drive..
    The TC cannot be linked to store files or automatically back them up.. whereas a usb drive at least will be backed up by Time Machine.
    If you want to do this properly get a real NAS.. that has mirrored drives and real rsync type backup. You can use an airport extreme for wireless.

  • Why does Live View not work with the following: @media only screen and (max-width: 480px)?

    When I use the above media query in my stylesheet Live View ceases to update the viewport.  I have to update it manually each time I add or change a style.  This is not the case when I use styles under a common tablet sized query @media only screen and (max-width: 768px), or when there is no query at all.  Is this a bug or is there something I am missing here?

    Code errors might account for the discrepancy. Validate your code and fix any reported errors.

  • Setting up Dreamweaver CS4 with PHP testing server... Live View doesnt work

    Hello,
    Im trying to setup Dreamweaver CS4 with a php website im
    making. Ive setup the site information, and provided a testing site
    (XAMPP), and i can see the fully rendered .php pages in the Live
    View tab. However, say i change some of the text in the .php file
    (say from <p>Hello</p> to <p>Hi</p>) and
    then click in the Live View tab - the page does not update. It
    seems to do something, bit just returns the same.
    How do i set it up so, like with plain .html pages, you can
    make a change to the source code and instantly see the change in
    Live View?
    (At the moment i have to make the change to the source code,
    save it, click Live View to cancel it, and then click Live View
    again).
    Background:
    Ive setup XAMPP (G:\XAMPP\)
    Ive setup vhosts in apache.
    Ive stored my websites in G:\Websites
    Ive set the testing server to G:\Websites\site, where "site"
    is setup as a vhost and correctly displays when entered into a
    browser.
    Ive set the url prefix to
    http://site/
    Ive set local root to G:\Websites\site
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Cheers.

    Did you try using F5 to refresh the page? If that doesn't
    work for you,
    then you'll have to drop and restart Live view. No need to
    save and reload
    the page.

  • Live view putting a file with no name

    So i have a problem (don't know if it's a problem really, but at least an annoyance) with the Live View and Preview in browser features.
    When use them, the file transfer window pops up (even if i have told it to stay "hidden") showing the following:
    Started: 29.5.2013 15.47
    index.php - same - not transferred
    Connections:Raspberrypi.php - same - not transferred
    styles:common.css - same - not transferred
    - error occurred - Access denied.  The file may not exist locally,  may be open in another program, or there could be a local permission problem.
    File activity incomplete. 1 file(s) or folder(s) were not completed.
    Files skipped: 3
    Files with errors: 1
    Finished: 29.5.2013 15.47
    So the weird lines are those marked with red. It looks like its trying to put a file with no name or extensions at all - and i don't think i have such files on my site. Also the permissions are correct on both the server and my Mac.
    My web browser opens up and shows the site perfectly, and if I'm using the Live View, the site shows up well too. The thing is every time I hit F5 to refresh, i have to close the file transfer window. Annoying.
    I don't know if it matters but I'm using a Raspberry Pi as my home web server. It has Apache2, PHP 5, MySQL and vsftpd running, and I have been able to use them with no problem earlier.
    Hopefully someone knows what I am doing wrong here...
    Thanks in adnvance!

    Have you enabled Automatic Upload on SAVE?  I never FTP files on Save.  Way too much risk of error and it takes focus away from my work which is very distracting.  See screenshot.
