LIVE VOCALS HAVE TUNNEL SOUND: SOUNDS FINE ON PLAYBACK

I use a powerbook G4 1.5 with my motu 828 to record with logic 7. No problems recording whatsoever. My problem is sometimes I like to jam live and sing into my system to figure something out. I will play to a sound loop or drum file. The drum file will play out through logic and out to a samson power amp and to my speakers. Sounds good. I want to be able to sing live to it while I play my guitar. Yes I can already do to this but I get a kind of doubling sound or a tunnel kind of sound. This is because I am on record mode. Of course when I play the vocals back they sound fine and thats all that matters and of course I use my headphone while I'm recording. But really I want to just logic sometimes as a tool to play live with. My vocals do not sound correct. I know this is because I am in record mode. Is there a way to play through Logic and bypass the tunnel sound?
I run my mic through my motu 828 and then into the computer. The out is connected to the monitor outs which go to my samson servo 240 and then to my EV speakers.
Again is there something in logic I can change to avoid this tunnel sound while in record mode. Or is there a way to get the vocals to come through without hitting the record button?

Sounds like you might need to disable Software Monitoring.
Go to: Audio>Audio Hardware and Drivers>General>Enable Software Monitoring.
Make sure you uncheck that box. This will disable Software Monitoring.
Of course, if you don't have any external monitoring, then you won't be able to hear what you're recording live.
If you don't have any external hardware monitoring and need to use the Software Monitoring, try lowering your buffer settings until you find the "sweet spot" of no audio clicks/pops, but better latency.
Buffer settings can be accessed here:
Audio>Audio Hardware and Drivers>Buffer Settings

Try this:
1. Close all inactive apps. Double-click the Home button and hold apps in the Task Bar down until they all wiggle then tap the minus sign to close apps. Tap the home button to return to Home screen.
2. Hold the Sleep/Wake and Home button down until you see the Apple Logo.

If I use internet explorer everything is fine again, which seems to me to say that the problem lies within firefox 36. Can anyone help with this problem?

Tried that with the same result. I can't understand why it works with Linux (Ubuntu) and not Windows. IE works as well but I prefer to use Firefox, so I guess I'll just have to switch browsers when playing videos - weird.

Game apps have no sound but you tube and radio is fine

YouTube and Radio app is playing fine through speaker but games app like Plants and Zombies, Cat Toy, Infinity Plade, Angry Birds, KOI Ponds etc have no sound just today :(

I had major issues with the iPhone 4s battery, however it’s resolved.
The tech who set the phone up at the Apple store did so with little training.
if you have a mobile me account. First go and move all your data to the cloud by going on your computer and logging in at me.com/move. The cloud has replaced mobile me, so there is no need for those two accounts
Also make sure that for any of your email accounts you set them up to fetch, not push. My tech person set them all to have the email servers push data to the phone. The new iphone4s antenna is extremely strong so it will continually try to access stuff that is pushed–***** a lot of battery life doing this. It makes it worse if you have exchange 2010 accounts. Something about changes made to exchange really suck battery life from devices that access such accounts.

I have burned a CD and the first 1/2 of the songs sound fine but the rest are not clear, they have a skipping sound to them. I have erased teh CD-RW and tried again and it was somewhat better but the last few songs did the same thing.

First of all, it is better to use CD-Rs than CD-RWs, as the latter often give problems when used for audio CDs.
The problem you describe -- bad audio on the later tracks of an audio CD -- can almost always be corrected by doing the burn at a much lower burn speed. Use 2x.
The burn speed is selected in the dialog box that comes up when you request the burn. It defaults to "Maximum Possible," but there is a dropdown to select a lower value.

IPhone videos have no sound in iMovie preview

Movies imported into iMovie '09 (8.0.6) from iPhones (4&3GS) have no sound in preview when I click the spacebar, even iPhone clips that previously had sound no longer have sound in preview. Clips taken years ago with another camera still have sound in preview. All clips play fine in Quicktime in iPhoto. Clips have sound when dragged to the 'New Project' window in iMovie '09. I've clicked on the mute feature- which shows no volume when on and clips play.
Still have 150 GB of space on HD.

It is possible to partition the drive, but you have to physically pull the hard drive from the Time Capsule and place it in a separate enclosure for the formatting operation, then reinstall the drive again back in the Time Capsule.
Unfortunately, in addition to a lot of work, this will void the warranty on the Time Capsule.
It is possible to create one or more disk images on the Time Capsule using Disk Utility.
While a disk image is not technically a "partition" in the normal sense, it will allow you to specify and reserve a given amount of space on the drive for the image or images that you create.

I Have a SOUND Problem after installing 10.4.6, anyone else?

I updated to Tiger 10.4.6 and Now I have a problem with the output sound. It is less than 2/3's of what it was in Panther, and it is raspy. As I have been looking for an answer to the problem, I discovered that this update also updates the firmware. If you recall, the Mac reboots twice the first time the Mac is started up on 10.4.6, and I have been told that this is where the firmware is updated. And I think this is what has messed with the sound on my G5. If you have had a similar problem, and know of a fix, please let me know. Thank you.

Thank you Barry, for your reply, and I did try the action you suggested. However, there was no change.
Since I posted here I have more info. I will have to retract the claim that iTunes and movies are effected. It seems, at least at this point they play and sound fine through a head set.
Per the Applecare Tech's suggestion, I did an erase and install back to 10.3.5 to see if the sound quallity would return, and it did. I moved up to 10.3.9 and the sound was still ok. Then I did another erase and install up to 10.4.3 and the problem returned. This tells me the firmware is not the issue in this case, and that some thing in Tiger is the cause, and not just at 10.4.6. I will not speculate as to what the cause might be, rather, I will leave it to the experts. I will be taking the computer into an Apple service center so they can check it out. I will post again when I know more.

VIDEOS HAVE NO SOUND?!??? HELP!

I have a 30GB Video Ipod. I was trying to put the movie Click on it. I converted it to the Ipod format and then put it onto my ipod. Everythings fine right? Alright so once it was on there, and I tried playing the video to test it, it didnt have any sound what so ever. I found a program thats designed for Mac to change the audio and stuff to make the sound work, but I dont have a mac I have a PC. I right clicked on the video in my videos folder in itunes and made the sound go to 100%, then re-added it and that didnt work either. So I was wondering if anyone knows how to import a video and enable the sound

Clean iPhone charging port with toothbrush and small amount of isopropyl alcohol. If still problem the faulty part is charging port assembly with flex cable, lower mic, and connector of home button flex. Apple handles this problem with replacement iPhone 4S with Warranty or AppleCare coverage, if no coverage it is $199.
