Live Webcam Stream

I am new to the FMS....I have down loaded FMS3....I am also
trying to get other to view me on my webcam through a website. My
question is, do I need the Media Encoder for FMS3 or is that
already included in it?

I would like to do something different (the logical schema is
quite the same, but...): send video from my cell phone (a nokia
e.g. but I can change if needed...) to a web server where i can see
it/store it. Which is the minimum configuration (software &
hardware) I need to realize it? My best choice would be: Flash Lite
for mobile device, some other Adobe technology for Web Server but,
possibly, no Java.

How to record a live camera stream inside Adobe Media Server?

I am using Adobe Flash Builder 4.6 with Adobe Media Server Extended 5. I am streaming my webcam in Adobe Media Server ("rtmp://localhost/live") successfully. I need to record and save this live video inside Adobe Media Server.
Could you suggest me how I can record a live webcam streaming inside my server?

Director 11 using a webcam or live video streaming input

I am looking for a solution to use input from a webcam or from any other live video stream in Director 11.
I have tried using a Flash component but this does not work.
The MyronXtra does not work with Director 11 too!

Watching Ustream live webcam continually buffers

I have Windows 7, 64bit and Flash V 10,1,102,64
My problem is with watching a Ustream live webcam on an Eagle nest in Maine, USA,

Whilst I can watch it, the streaming keeps on and on buffering, or just stopping and starting. I don't lose the picture but it plays and freezes and then plays and freezes every few seconds. It's off more than it's on.
I tried disabling hardware acceleration, it didn't help.
Is there something wrong with my version of Flash, my video card, my computer? I've tried it with Internet Explorer 8, Firefox and Google Chrome and still have the same issue.
Hope someone can help.

adninjastrator, thank you for that pointer and I think you are probably right. I ran the test just now (I'm in London, England) and Download speed is
2.57 Mbps and upload .33 Mpbs. That seems terrible.
I'm sure our Internet provider "promised" up to 10 Mbps. Also I am connected wirelessly, I wonder if it would make a differ
ence if I was hard wired into the network.

Live video streaming through red5

hi all,
I'm working on a video Audio chat Application developed in flex, Air and red5 as media server.
Basically the chatting will be between one-to-one user based, where one client(webUser) is going to signin from the website and selects a user from the list of online users.
The other person is online from his desktop tool developed in air application.
The communication between these two users is through webService. Now as soon as the Air user gets request for chat from webuser he accepts it, a chat window opens and connects to red5.
We are streaming the live webcam video,Audio and messages through red5. we are publishing Air users video to webuser and playing webusers video to airuser. we are using the same code in both the applications for connecting and streaming but the video is playing in the webuser end for few minutes and in the air application the webuser video just appears for few seconds and stops saying NetStream.play.unpublishNotify. That is the actual problem.
I also test with the same thing with two web application and here publishing is working at both end and both user can able to see the others video.
So main problem is between Air and web application, the video stops in few seconds. Please let us know if there is any security restriion in AIR or any thing else which I m missing.

Broadcasting webcam stream with RTSP

Hi all.
I'm working on my final year project lately. I've got the webcam stream and processing it for motion detection, there's no problem with that part. But another part of the project is to broadcast the webcam stream by RTSP protocol. I've seen codes that broadcasts the webcam stream over RTP protocol as I searched over internet by google, but I had to broadcast it in RTSP because the reciever of this webcam stream will be using his/her mobile phone
and mobile phones do not support RTP protocol. As far as I checked with a program I found on internet, my cell phone ( Symbian OS 60 v2 ) supports HTTP,RTSP etc. I cannot do it with HTTP since I'm going to get live feed, so I had to do it with RTSP protocol.
So I tried streaming servers like Wowza media server, darwin streaming server, flash media server etc. but I couldn't get my webcams stream by these as far as I followed tutorials. I'm really stuck at this point so I thought that it's time to ask someone for help. What should I do ? ( Please don't say "Implement the RTSP by reading it's RFC :) ). If you ever done something like this please share your experiences with me.
ps: I've searched sun forums also, but all I found was unanswered questions about rtsp broadcasting, so I started a new one, hoping to find an answer.

As far as I am aware (and I am aware of most but not all), JMF doesn't support RTSP broadcast, only RTSP reception.
As far as I checked with a program I found on internet, my cell phone ( Symbian OS 60 v2 ) supports HTTP,RTSP etc. I cannot do it with HTTP since I'm going to get live feed, so I had to do it with RTSP protocol.HTTP can do live feeds, but, they will get progressively further behind the longer the stream stays active due to packet retransmission.
My suggestion to you would be to google for a product that can take in an RTP stream and output it as an RTSP stream. You can then use JMF to capture the web cam and broadcast it to that product, and then use that product to bounce the RTP stream to your cell phone.
Or, you could just implement the RTSP by reading it's RFC ;-)

Webcam stream with FFMpeg on iPhone

I'm trying to send and show a webcam stream from a linux server to an iPhone app. I don't know if it's the best solution, but I downloaded and installed FFMpeg on the linux server. I managed to send a video stream from the server (or, at least, that's what I think I did) calling
ffmpeg -b 96k -r 20 -s 320x240 -f video4linux2 -i /dev/video0 -f mpegts -vcodec mpeg2video udp://192.168.1.34:1234
I know something arrived because on the Mac machine I have a simple UDP client that shows incoming messages. I'm not sure, but I guess the same messages would arrive on an iPhone app (the code is the same). For what I see on my client, I receive packets of 16 bytes.
Now, I need to analyze those packets and show the video stream. May anyone point me to the right direction? I'm a bit confused about the role of the segmenter program and how to use it.
Besides, as I said, I'm not sure FFMpeg is the best/simplest solution to this problem, so any suggestions would be appreciated, as using another streaming server or adopt a different approach.

How to play live Video Stream with Flex?

I'm trying to get Flex Builder 3 to play a live video stream with Flash Media
Server and Flash Live Media Encoder.
I'm able to stream pre-recrorded (vod) flvs in flex from flash media server.
I'm able to stream live video using Flash/FMS/Flas Live Media Encoder, but not
with Flex.
This code streams pre-recorded Video on Demand flvs, but not live streams:
If I change source to "rtmp://localhost/live/livesream.flv, I get nothing.
What am I doing wrong?

How can I play live http streaming in osmf?

Hi,
I was trying to play live http streaming in osmf player but it was saying "Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.". I think I need to do some change in OSMF player code to play live as vod plays fine. Can anybody point me in that direction?

I downloaded StrobeMediaPlayback from https://sourceforge.net/projects/smp.adobe/files_beta/StrobeMediaPlayback_1.5_Sprint-4/ (10.1 version) and it is working for me.
By the way when I try to play live Http in debug flash player with my previous player then I get following error :

Z10 vs H264 Live Smooth Streaming under IIS 7 and Expression Encoder 4

Hello all,
First, sorry about my english, I habitually speak french.
I just got my Z10 today and I'm trying to figure out how to stream live to that kind of device via Live Smooth Streaming, running on a win2k8 server feeded by MS Expression Encoder 4 (w/ H264 codec). I'm very far to be a developper or programmer, but I'm actually able to push streams for different devices, such as Windows Mobile and iOS devices since 3 years. I configured a new stream with different recommended specs supported by the Z10, but it always returns me than "this type of media is not supported and cannot be played". By example, in Expression I use a profile named "H264 Low Bandwidth" with these preconfigured standards settings:
H.264 Baseline Level 1,3
Video: CBR-1pass, 30fps, 347kbps, 364x272
Audio: AAC-LC, stereo 128k, 44khz, 16bps)
I tried so much settings in video and/or audio without succes than I started to think that I'm too stupid to understand what's going on! I'm absolutely following the medias specs on https://developer.blackberry.com/devzone/develop/supported_media/bb10_media_support.html
In an IOS situation, I push the code like: http://10.10.10.200/campus.isml/manifest(format=m3u8-aapl).m3u8 where (format=m3u8-aapl).m3u8 is especially the part that an idevice recognizes. I removed this part, remove only the (.) content, removed the manifest word, removed all and so on. Never been able to got a single image or a sound.
Is there an option like (format=somethingelse) that I need to type somewhere? Please don't answer me to google it, I already asked 100 times to google and read tons of pages and I know it's very annoying for expert if the question was answered somewhere else (which I didn't found...) but I needs a hint.

Hi, everything in the "Quick Reference" section should be commented out with ;
You should change those settings further down in the php.ini file.
Example:

I am having trouble with my Orb Live TV Stream. Using version 4.3 of the Media pLayer this Video and Audio worked fine, but since the upgrade to V4.5, the audio still works fien but the Video Screen is blank. Any suggestions?
Can I download just the Media Player V4.3 and have it exist with V4.5 on the same phone? Where would I find it?

Live video stream to both Flash and iOS problem

Hi everyone, I'm Lucas. I Have learnt how to deliver a single live video stream to both Flash and iOS from this video
But after that I got a problem with the ".f4m" file and ".m3u8" file (I think) like this video below here. I don't know what happen with the server because my camera is still working perfectly.
I now using Flash Media Server 4.5
Does anyone know how to fix it?

Try this :
1: stop any stream.
2: go to root_install\applications\livepkgr\events\_definst_\liveevent and delete any .stream file that is in there
3: Go to root_install\applications\livepkgr\streams\_definst_ any livestream folder that is in there for example if you streamed with name livestream12 there should be a folder with the name livestream12, delete it.
4: Then try streaming a single bitrate stream by adding to the FMLE the following parameters
FMS Url : rtmp://localhost/livepkgr
Stream: livestream?adbe-live-event=liveevent
5: go to sample player and add this url to the field : http://localhost/hds-live/livepkgr/_definst_/liveevent/livestream.f4m
*If you have a public IP do the following :
1: go to http://www.osmf.org/configurator/fmp/#
and add this url : http://public_ip/hds-live/livepkgr/_definst_/liveevent/livestream.f4m (replace localhost with your public IP)
and from the advanced tab say that it is live.
Give it a try!

How to add a live webcam image in OWC?

Hi All:
We have a customer who wants to use iLearning with collabsuite. They like the way OWC is integrated with iLearning but they have some specific requirements.
One of the main requirement for them is to put a live webcam image of instructor/s in a webconference, where participants (students ) will be able to see the instructors teaching live. This webcam image will be positioned at the left or right top as a small window embedded to the webconference screen.
Do we have the ability to add such functionality in collabsuite? If not, how can the customer meet this requirement? If anybody knows how to do this, please reply to this post.
