Live! Wireless for remote monitoring question

Hello, Somebody who has this camera probably can answer this question.. Is software compatible with Vista2. What format motion is being record in?

The software that came on CD with my Live! Wireless has a copyright of 2005 and is not natively compatible with Vista. When the setup launches, it immediately states that it is 'not compatible with this version of Windows' and then exits. But all is not lost. Following the lead of other users on this forum, I right-clicked on the CD's SETUP.EXE, selected Properties, selected the Compatibility tab, selected Windows XP SP2, and then pressed OK. Then I right-clicked on SETUP.EXE again and ran it as an administrator. The three applications installed fine. I was able to configure the device without difficulty. So the answer to your first question is a qualified "Yes". Regarding your second question: The device captures snapshots in JPG format and video in WMV format. Creative's silence about this product is deafening. There seems to be no interest or effort going into improving the product...nor in making the software natively compatible with Vista. I suppose it's only a matter of time until the creativeddns.com web interface disappears one day, too. It's too bad; I have two of these devices and they work great. I love them.

  • Creative Internet Camera Live for Remote Monitoring

I can not get the DDNS domain name feature to install. I get a message that says user name already being used. I have tried numerous versions of names and get the same message. Also, at one point in the install process I get a message that the DDNS site is not responding and try again.

You can access your camera from the internet by the address of your internet connection. Usually, this is the outside interface on the router connected to your cable modem, or the address of your dsl modem. This should show as the remote IP address on the Home display for your camera. (If it doesn't, something is wrong!)
Then, provided you have done the dmz thing for your camera, you can go to someplace outside and you should be able to reach your camera by that ip address. For example:
http://66.42.3.97/ And you should get a prompt to login to your camera...
Took me a few tries but I got both the ip address and the creativeddns to work.

  • Resolution for Widescreen Monitor question

We have a project that requires a flash presentation that
will run on a widescreen monitor (1366 x 768) at a tradeshow booth.
Any advice on what resolution to use for our images? We had
thought 150dpi would give us smooth color gradations. True?
If we use that, should we made our document size larger or
scale down the graphics when importing them to the stage?
    Any help/advice is appreciated.
    -K

First of all, dpi is meaningless for screen graphics (ie, the
web). What you are really looking at is pixels, so pixel dimensions
    is all that really matters.
In the end, if the the monitor is 1366x768 then your best bet
is to just make the Flash that size. Flash can run slowly when
played at larger resolutions, regardless of whether the original
size was large or the movie is being scaled up. If you can, get the
latest Flash Player 9 update beta from labs.adobe.com, it is
significantly better in performance, especially at large scale
    sizes.
I've made a number of Flash demos to be played on monitors at
tradeshows and such, and I would suggest your best bet would be to
make yout images the actual size they will be displayed, and scale
as little as possible in Flash (excusing any scaling animation, of
course). The way I do this is make mockups of all my main keyframe
sequences in Photoshop (or Fireworks, which is what I use, which
has frames and pages so motion storyboards are actually really easy
to do, but you could also just make a sequence of PSDs) at the
final size, 1366x768, and then when you are ready export you know
the images are the size they should be.
One last thing to mention, if you intend to animate your
images in Flash in any way, make sure you set their properties in
the Libray so that "allow smoothing" is on -- it will make the
    animations of bitmaps much smoother.

  • Is iphone JAVA-capable for Cingular Remote Monitoring?

AT&T/Cingular has a service called Remote Monitor that lets you put up cameras, motion sensors etc at a site and monitor them remotely using the internet or a java-based application that you can download to a Cingular phone. Great for monitoring a 2nd home.
Somehow I don't think it's possible to use the java-based application on the iphone. I may be able to use the Safari connection and use the internet for it, although this is slower and non-dedicated. Does anyone have any experience with this? Is Safari on the iphone capable of viewing live video?

no right now you cant but this would make a great thrid party app from Apple for the iPhone... Suggest it

  • Can synced lights, a wireless shutter remote and live mode work at the same time on the Canon600D?

I have a pair of synced lights connected through the hot shoe, and I'd like to use live mode and a wireless shutter remote to take self portraits from a distance... is this possible with the Canon600D? (Rebel T3i)
I'm finding that turning on live mode stops the lights from flashing, and even with it off, the lights won't flash if I use the remote to take the photo.
    Help would be very appreciated!

Did a quick search, I don't think the 600D has the 'silent shutter' option.
But I might be wrong, it might only be manual only flashes that don't fire in Live View, TTL flashes (any brand) may work.  Maybe it has something to do with the mirror being locked up.   Regardless, a wireless trigger will behave the same as a non-TTL flash, so it's not going to work with off camera flash.
However, I think that Magic Lantern has a fix for it.  Might look into that if it's something you need.  That said, I've taken hundreds, probably thousands of photos of myself without Live View.  Just tether to a laptop/tablet and you can see the results after you take the shot; adjust accordingly.

  • Maximum number of monitors used for remote desktop not working correctly

My goal is to connect from my home to my work machine but limit the number of monitors used to 2.
At work, I have a machine running Windows 7 Enterprise SP1 with dual monitors. My home machine is Windows 8.1 Pro and it has 3 monitors (on two video cards).
I followed the instructions of the MSDN blog post about using multiple monitors for remote desktop but cannot get it to work right.
Here's what I see when I modify the group policy setting "Limit maximum number of monitors" on the target (work) machine:
    Setting - Result:
    1 - 1
    2 - 1 (???)
    3 - 3
It looks like I can't limit the number of monitors used to 2, I get either one or all. Am I missing something or is this by design?
    Max

    Hi Max,
Support for multiple monitors is available when connecting from any Windows 7/8.1 computer, however, there are restrictions when connecting to a computer using multi-monitor mode. When connecting to Windows 7 computers, only computers that are running Windows
7 Enterprise or Ultimate can be connected to in multi-monitor mode. When connecting to Windows 8.1, only computers that are running Windows 8.1 Professional or Enterprise can be connected to in multi-monitor mode.

  • Desperate help needed to configure WVC210 for remote access?

Hi, I'm new and desperately need some help on setting up my WVC210 for remote access.
I manage to setup and see images from my WVC210 using my home LAN via both wired and also wireless.
    I have 2 questions:
    (a) for wireless connection, i only manage to get connection to my WVC210 if i disable the wireless security from my router. But that means i'm opening my wireless LAN to everyone. How can i still get connection to the camera if i enable the wireless security from my router. (FYI: my router is 2Wire ADSL  from Singnet Mio)
    (b) how can i get connection to my WVC210 from outside or in my office? I type in the camera Fixed IP address (displayed on the front screen) on the web browser, by it shows a error page. Is there some setting that i might need to adjust ?
    Pls kindly help me
    Thank you.

    Bernard,
For Item (2) is there any difference between the camera built-in dyndns updater versus the software updater? I am under the impression that the software updater is easier to manage.
The biggest difference for you is that the camera always stays at the same location, and the laptop goes with you. Every time you access the internet from a different location with the laptop the software updater is sending the new IP address to dyndns.com. This causes you to lose access to your camera because the FQDN doesn't point to your home IP address anymore. Once the dyndns credentials are in the camera (or router) there is no management needed. The device will automatically update dyndns.com with your new IP address as it changes, and you do not need to do anything.
For Item (3), are you saying port forward 1025 is it for the 2nd camera only or for both? Or is it 2nd camera use 1025 and first camera use 8080?
Here's an example of what I mean:
    Camera 1: 192.168.1.210 port 1024. In router, forward port 1024 to 192.168.1.210
    Local Access: http://192.168.1.210:1024
    Remote Access: http://bernards210.dyndns.org:1024 (Example)
    Camera 2: 192.168.1.211 port 1025. In router, forward port 1025 to 192.168.1.211
    Local Access: http://192.168.1.211:1025
    Remote Access: http://bernards210.dyndns.org:1025 (Example)
    Camera 3: 192.168.1.212 port 1026. In router, forward port 1026 to 192.168.1.212
    Local Access: http://192.168.1.212:1026
    Remote Access: http://bernards210.dyndns.org:1026 (Example)
to access the 2 camera outside, do i have to have another dyndns host name or can i use the current one for both camera?
As you can see in the above example, the dyndns name remains the same for remote access to all three cameras. The only change is the port number at the end. Your router will translate the port number to the IP address that the port is forwarded to, allowing you to select the camera that you wish to view by changing the port number in the address.
I was actually thinking that the camera web browser can show 2 camera at the same time. Is it possible?
No. Each browser window will display a single camera. You can however opens multiple instances of your browser to allow viewing of more than one camera simultaneously. A better solution is to install the Video Monitoring Software that is included with the camera which allows you to view multiple cameras in the same window.

  • I can not reactivate my DDNS service after having reinstalled my Creative Live Wireless Webcam

    Hi,
After having changed my wireless router's network key, I had to change of course also the key
stored in my Creative Live Wireless Internet Camera setup. To do
this, I have deleted my cam definitions and did a scratch install after
resetting. However now I can not register my URL name anymore and DDNS is
disabled. The setup wizard says that it could not connect to the server to
register my host name (in fact this name is already registered by me before) and that I should try again. I attempted numerous times, no help!
The IP adress of my Creative Wireless Cam is 92.68..250, it is exactly the same as it
was before. My registered URL was "goztepe.creativeddns.com" and remote monitoring?was working?
with these parameters without any problem, which are still the same as before, I did not change them.
How should I reactivate my DDNS service? Maybe a reset or something alike is needed on the Creative Server which is doing the URL registrations? I would appreciate any help because I
am not able to access my cam from remote anymore!
    Thanks in advance. Ozgur Ozdemir

  • Need help installing Live Wireless Webcam

I got as far as where it says to disconnect the cable from your camera, and it said it was installed sucessfully. Then it asked if I wanted to go on to make the camera available on the internet, and I said yes. It asked for my camera admin username and password (which I had changed), and I put them in, and it just came back asking me for the username and password over and over again. I know I put in the right thing because I brought up the settings, and I saw it right there, had it open while typing everything in, typed everything in exactly. But it still wouldn't take it. It wouldn't take the default username and password either. Now the system won't even recognize that the web cam is there. I open up the software and it can't find any cameras.
I can't call customer support because I work during those hours and there's no possible way for me to bring any part of this stuff to work, they don't even let you bring cell phones in.

I think the Webcam Live! Wireless comes with 2 main apps.
First is the Internet Center which is the app used to run remote monitoring. Second is the regular Webcam Center which is used when you have attached the webcam directly to the PC.
I'm not really sure where your problem is coming from. But you will have to attach the webcam to the server and the server to the LAN if you are using Internet Center. Likewise, you will have to attach the webcam directly to your PC if you are using the regular Webcam Center.

  • Creative Live wireless webcam - DDNS or any other outside access doesn't work

Bought the Creative Live Wireless webcam. Works inside my network, but DDNS server offered by Creative has been down for weeks now, so I can't use this service. The remote IP access also does not work, since the webcam doesn'y assign a remote IP (it states 0.0.0.0).
No support infor on Creative web page at all, they don't even list the product. I feel like this is all a big scam....
Can anyone provide insight in how to the this product to work?

  • UCCX 9 IPPA Remote Monitor using rmon.aef

Question, can you utilize the rmon.aef script to remote monitor agents that use IPPA at a remote site? Trying to figure out ways to monitor an agent in this scenario since SPAN and Desktop Monitoring can't be utilized given that they're using IPPA and are remote from UCCX. Thoughts?

There are lots of reasons why monitoring and recording can fail in an environment.
There are also lots of troubleshooting steps to verify a working environment as well.
You can start by searching these forums for terms like "monitoring not working", "silent monitoring", "remote monitoring", etc.
You may even find, within those posts, links to configuration and troubleshooting documents, such as:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/customer/products/sw/voicesw/ps556/products_tech_note09186a00801a62a8.shtml

    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cust_contact/contact_center/cad_enterprise/non_release_docs/voip-mon-troubleshooting.pdf
The most common issue is, your regions are G711, and the IP Phones are negotiating G722, which cannot be recorded.
To verify, when an Agent is on a call, double tap the ? button on the phone and read the codec.
If  it's G722, in CUCM, go to the Agent's phone, and switch the Advertise  G722 from Use System Default to Disabled, save and reset, try again.

  • Silent Monitoring Question

    Hello,
When try to Silent Monitor an Agent using my CSD, I can listen it through my Laptops speaker or headset (if plugged in). Is there any way to do Silent Monitoring by using supervisor's IP Phone?
If there is any document that supports the answer, please let me know. I appreciate your help.
    Thanks

Here is some additional information from the scripting guide:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cust_contact/contact_center/crs/express_8_5/programming/guide/uccx851gs_scripts.pdf
pg 515 - Designing remote monitoring scripts.
    A) The "password" it asks during login is your PIN number from CUCM, not your alphanumeric password. The PIN is numbers only, which makes it a bit easier to input on a phone. If it is currently set to checking your actual password, you can change it to check your PIN in the authenticate user step.
    B) The username might be a bit tricky. From the above link you can see the actual script steps. What you could do is set a static username vs. having you enter it. Where you see UserLogin = GetDigitString.... You could replace this with UserLogin="[email protected]" so that you are no longer prompted for the long username. This dives into the realm of custom scripting and can be done with several different methods.
Let me know if you have any other questions!

  • Remote Monitoring CCX 8

    Hi All,
I tried to configure remote monitoring in CUCCX, but I could not because I have enhanced license. When I Opened the Supervisor desktop I found a button for voice monitoring, but I could not use it.
My question is: can I use voice monitoring with enhanced license or it is remote monitoring?

Yep, for v8.0 it's page 212 of the Administration Guide: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cust_contact/contact_center/crs/express_8_0/configuration/guide/uccx801ag.pdf
From the Supervisor's perspective it's very simple (Just a button), but you can refer to page 42 of the supervisor desktop guide: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cust_contact/contact_center/crs/express_8_0/user/guide/csd80ccxug-cm.pdf
