LiveCache Installation (Database creation) problems

We are trying to install liveCache 7.6.29 (SCM 5.0 SR2), during the database creation phase we are encountering the below error;
Execute Command : /sapdb/programs/bin/dbmcli  -n ql1ap01.cardinalhealth.net -R /sapdb/QL1/db db_create QL1 CONTROL,******** ql1adm,

Please let me know if any of you have faced this issue and resolved the same.
Eagerly waiting for your reply, as this is a high priority for me.
Regards,
Thilaka

Hi Thilaka,
hm, why are you now askig the forum when you've direct email contact with me?
Anyway, this really should be handled over OSS...
Just fyi:
It seems that SAPINST is trying to issue the following command:
/sapdb/programs/bin/dbmcli -n ql1ap01.cardinalhealth.net -R /sapdb/QL1/db db_create QL1 CONTROL,******** ql1adm,
Can you try and see if you can issue it from the commandline on your machine (with the same user, i.e. probably root)? Please do not forget to add the password of the ql1adm, which is either not visible in the above command or forgotten (by SAPINST):
/sapdb/programs/bin/dbmcli -n ql1ap01.cardinalhealth.net -R /sapdb/QL1/db db_create QL1 CONTROL,******** ql1adm,<b><password></b>
After issueing this, please try to continue using SAPINST (and please update the OSS message accordingly).
Regards,
Roland

  • Database creation problems and parition consolidation

    This is my first time on here so please look past my green-ness. =)
    I Installed Oracle 8.1.7 successfully and opted to setup the database creation later so I could put the database on another partition. Well, I tried once to create the database on the partition I installed oracle onto (/oracle) but I had insufficient space, It said I needed 1.3 gigs. My "/database" partition is only a 1 gig parition (and /oracle is 2 gigs). My plan was of course, to seperate them.
    Ok, I didn't see an option to create the db on another partition so I resigned to using /oracle. My question now is, is the 960 megs on /oracle enough to create the database? I used the custom setup so I could see how everything was broken down and I noticed that my rollback segment is 500 megs. Is this necessary? Can I get by with 100 megs and be fine? Also, if I did do this, I'd have approximately 100 megs free for data, this is enough I hope??
    Lastly, I need to combine the partitions somehow without effecting /. The hard drive is broken down into:
    gigs
    5.5 /
    2.0 /oracle
    1.0 /database
    Does anyone have any ideas? In windows, I used partiton magic but I don't know if there is a linux version.
    One more thought (last one for real =), it had 50 megs allocated for it's shared memory pool. I'm assuming this will take away from the 128megs I have thus effectively making only 78 available to X, will this cause any noticeable problems other than a bit of slowdown? I have most if not all of my virtual memory free at all times. I know I should get more ram, but you know how the budget thing goes...
    Any help would be greatly appreciated,
    Rob

    Try running the catalog and catproc sql scripts.
    $ cd $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/lib
    $ svrmgrl
    connect internal
    @catalog
    @catproc
    That will set up all of the internal views and packages that
    oracle needs to do DDL.

  • Database creation problems

    Help!! I have installed 8i on RH Linux 6.1 and followed the "Friendly" guide steps, it worked perfectly. However when I try to create a database using the Database assistant, I get an error "Oracle Not Logged on" I've reinstalled twice and still have the same problems - can anyone help?
    Thanks for any suggestions/help!
    null

    This problem doesn't just occur on Linux. I have encountered the same on both Digital Unix and HP/UX. I finally gave up and told it to just create the scripts. Looking at the scripts, there are a number of different problems depending on the items that you choose to install and/or customizations to db setup, such as size and placing of files.
    To find them, I generated the scripts and then looked at the contents and used svrmgrl to individually run commands so that I could see the "real" error message.
    It's been awhile but I think the not logged on was a failure in the initial create database command... Or maybe it was the MAX_ENABLED_ROLES being too small in the default init file to support some of the products... Or the rollback segments being created as private and not being automatically added to the init before the assistant does a shutdown and restart... Or it creating the rollback segment tablespace not the size and parameters that I requested...
    You may guess by now I wasn't too impressed by the dbassist program. All I can say is doesn't anyone believe in testing anymore? I have a hard time believing that anyone at Oracle actually tested running this product and actually using any of it's features.
    This really pissed me off because when I first saw the pretty GUI and nice interface I thought WOW, this is great, finally something to make database creation simpler than running all those commands and scripts.

  • BAM database creation problem in Enterprise Server

    Hi,
    We are trying to create a new database and config BAM inside the Enterprise Server. We have already created the engine db and the directory service db but we did not start the BAM or create any db or configure anything for BAM inside the Enterprise Server.
    Now when we create a new external resource to create a new db for BAM and then goto Process Monitoring ---> Manage Database
    and then create a new database and a new data structure and enter the Database Administrator User and the Database Administrator Password, it gives us an error:-
    Username and password already exists and it could not be created..
    We have tried all usernames and passwords but could not create the BAM..
    We also used the system user and the password..
    What could be the possible problem? Do we have to create the BAM db while configuring the engine db and directory service db or can we start and configure BAM later?
    How do we resolve this problem?
    The documents do not specify what is the
    Database Administrator Password
    and
    Database Administrator User is?
    What are these?
    Anybody knows?

    Hi,
    Lilach's tip should get you going.
    Suspect you won't need it, but here's a link to a BAM installation document I wrote that might also help you with your Oracle BPM 10g installation - http://www.4shared.com/file/136283546/ca086174/ALBPM_60_-Configuringthe_BAM_Updater.html. It's an update of the excellent ALBPM 5.7 BAM installation document that Gustavo in Customer Support wrote a few years ago. Although it was written for ALBPM 6.0, the steps will work with Oracle BPM 10g.
    Here's another thread on this forum regarding BAM installation - Re: Problems with the albpmwarehouse service
    Hope this helps,
    Dan

  • New database creation problem

    While we are trying to create new database in test server it getting below error.
    Error:

    Hello,
    There may be session accessing the model database, and that prevents the creation of the new database. This is by design; an exclusive lock is required on model database by SQL Server, since it needs to create the new database from a copy of the model database.
    Run the sp_who2 to know which session has opening the model database.
    Hope this helps.

  • While Installation of 11g database creation time error ORA-28056: Writing audit records to Windows Event Log failed Error

    Hi Friends,
    OS = Windows XP 3
    Database = Oracle 11g R2 32 bit
    Processor= intel p4 2.86 Ghz
    Ram = 2 gb
    Virtual memory = 4gb
    I was able to install the oracle 11g successfully, but during installation at the time of database creation I got the following error many times and I ignored it many times... but at 55% finally My installation was hanged nothing was happening after it.....
    ORA-28056: Writing audit records to Windows Event Log failed Error  and at 55% my Installation got hung,,,, I end the installation and tried to create the database afterward by DBCA but same thing happened....
    Please some one help me out, as i need to install on the same machine .....
    Thanks and Regards

    Thanks Now I am able to Create a database , but with one error,

    Enterprise Manager Configuration Failed due to the Following error Listener is not up or database service is not registered with it.  Start the listener & Registered database service & run EM Configuration Assistant again....
    But when I checked the listener was up.....
    Now what was the problem,  I am able to connect and work through sqlplus,
    But  I didnt got the link of EM and when try to create a new connection in sql developer it is giving error ( Status : failure - Test Failed the Network Adapter could not establish the connection )
    Thanks & Regards
    Creation of the dbcontrol requires a connection via the listener.  When configuring the dbcontrol as part of database creation, it appears that the dbcontrol creation step runs before the dynamic registration of the databsase with the listener is complete.  Now that the database itself is completed and enough time (really, just a minute or two) has passed to allow the instance to register, use dbca or emca to create the dbcontrol.
    Are you able to get a sqlplus connection via the listener (sqlplus scott/tiger@orcl)?  That needs to be the first order of business.

    end of file communication channel.
    plz help me what i would do,,
    regards.

    Hi,
    seems that your oracle database went down. just check if oracle is running or not by using ps command.
    if its not running go to $ prompt and start the database either using sys or internal user i.e
    $svrmgrl
    connect internal
    $startup or startup force
    let me know the result.

  • Oracle 9i installation hanging in "Clone Database Creation in Process"

    Hi all,
    I have been struggling in installing the 9i in my laptop.
    Here is my setup,
    OS: Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition SP2 in VMWare
    Database: Oracle 9i 9.2.0.1.0
    When it automatically comes to "Database Configuration Assistant", there are 4 steps.
    Copying Database files
    Initializing Database
    Creating and starting Oracle Instance
    Completing database creation
    The 1st 3 steps has been completed and the installation just hangs at the last step when the completion rate is 88%.
    Anyone got problem like this ?
    Here are the details I have so far for the DBCA during installation process,
    Listener Control complete.
    Listener start failed. Listener may already be running.
    Listener configuration complete.
    Default local naming configuration complete.
    Oracle Net Services configuration successful. The exit code is 0
    Since I am completely new to installing DB, please help me to get rid of this frustration.
    Thanks !

    Could anyone please let me know how can i fix this issue...

    The key of the problem may be found here:
    SP2-0306: Invalid option.
    Usage: CONN[ECT] [logon] [AS {SYSDBA|SYSOPER}]
    where <logon> ::= <username>[<password>][@<connect_identifier>] | /
    Which means the dbca is not recognizing some parameter. Initial database creation assumes you are able to connect as sysda without a password, Which means you should be able to connect as a valid user with ORA_DBA and connect as batch privileges. If you are installing with domain related authentication issues, then it could be the most likely reason dbca is not able to go ahead with installation.
    1. Determine if you are connected with the ORA_DBA group privilege. It should be so if you are locally connected (not with a domain account)
    2. Verfiy if you are able to connect as sysdba, open a sql prompt this way:
    sqlplus / as sysdba
    3. If you are able to connect, it means your authentication mechanism is properly working.
    4. Verify the contents of the alert.log associated with the instance, some error message there will bring light on this issue.
    Please feedback on the results of this initial troubleshooting procedure.
