LiveCycle Crashing When Wrapping a Subform
Hello all. Lately I've been having problems when I try to wrap objects in subforms. I try to wrap some things, my cursor goes into "thinking" mode, then I get the dreaded message box, "Adobe LiveCycle has encountered an error and must close". Has anyone else had problems with this? Has anyone happened to find a solution?
It happens when I select multiple objects (sometimes subforms, sometimes not) and try to wrap them. I'm only working on one form, so I can't say if it's a problem in general or just with what I'm doing. Whenever this happens I can create a subform then just insert all of the objects without any problem, but it's so much easier to just wrap them. On occasion I've also had trouble with attempting to unwrap a subform that contains one object (mostly remnants from early on when I hadn't yet figured out how things worked). The program doesn't crash, it just fails to unwrap it.

LiveCycle crash when selecting a pdf for importing
I am trying to create a new form using LiveCycle and when I go though the initial wizard it asks me if I want to use a PDF as the basis for the form - I select it from my hard drive. It is an x1a format created from a layout I did in InDesign (CS4).
When LiveCycle tries to create the form I get an error that says "An unsupported Operation was Attempted" and then Live Cycle crashes.
I just downloaded the latest version on trial assuming it was was an old buggy version but I get the same thing happening.
Help! This is due tomorrow...

LiveCycle crashes when I try to open PDF-form
Adobe Live Cycle Designer ES (versio 8.2.1.3144.1.471.865) Finnish language version crashes down always I try to open PDF-form or PDF-file. It happens also when star new form. Designer worked well some days but not anymore. I have uninstalled Acrobat and installed it again and rebooted computer many times. I have an other workstation Designer 7, and I opened one form made for Designer ES, and it worked well.
I am using Windows XP SP2 Finnish language version.
Windows error tool gives messages:

Workstation is HP Compaq 6019p, memory 2 GB.
What can I do.There is a Designer directory in this location that needs to be deleted:
C:\Documents and Settings\logged in username\Application Data\Adobe\Designer\8.2
Delete this direcory and try again.
There is also another issue reported if you are using SQLServer version 8 on th esame machine as Designer where there is a DLL conflict. This is being looked into and there is no solution for this one yet!

Photoshop CC crash when using Nik Collection
I have been using Lightroom 5 and Nik Collections plugins successfully for a while and just got Photoshop CC.
Unfortunately Photoshop CC crash when I save my work that I have done in ColorEfex Pro 4 or SilverEfex Pro 2.
The other plugins in the Nik Collection works fine, I work with TIFF and layers. My work flow is that I do some basic work in Lightroom then "Edit in...PS". From PS I use the Nik plugins, normally I'd do Dfine, Sharpner and then SilverEfex or ColorEfex. The crash happens when I get back to PS after saving my work and that last layer is never created and all my work is lost.
I would be grateful for any help. Below is the data from my system. Thanks !

Installed TWAIN devices: NONEThe solution in my case when I posted this was to contact Google who sent me files that disabled the GPU, updating the driver didn't do the trick. The crashes stopped when the GPU was disabled but Nik was painfully slow.
No I have a new machine with a more powerful GPU and everything worked fine for a while then Colour Efex started to crash when I opened it in PS. Google gave me a link to AMD where I got the latest driver and now I think it's working again, I'm not sure because I have not done much work lately.
Bottom line....Nik seems to require a pretty powerful machine both when it comes to RAM and GPU.

Photoshop CS6 crashes when doing anything
I can start it just fine, but it crashes when I open a new file. Happen on both x86 and x64. I find it weird that I can run After Effects CS6. But not photoshop, So please help me.

Are Photoshop and OS fully updated and have you performed the usual trouble-shooting routines (trashing prefs by keeping command-alt-shift/ctrl-alt-shift pressed while starting Photoshop after making sure all customized presets like Actions, Patterns, Brushes etc. have been saved and making a note of the Preferences you’ve changed, 3rd party plug-ins deactivation, system maintenance, cleaning caches, font validation, etc.)? -
Photoshop CS6 Extended crashing when using Oil Paint filter
I replaced a standard hard drive with a new SSD drive and did a fresh install of Windows 7 and all of my programs. I made sure all Win 7 updates, program updates and drivers are current. The good news is Photoshop CS6 Extended loads much faster. The bad news is now Photoshop crashes when I attempt to use the Oil Paint filter. The only hardware change is the new SSD, I haven't changed any video devices and I never had any issues running the Oil Paint filter before I swapped out hard drives and did the software reinstallations. I've tried the OpenGL Drawing Mode in basic, normal and advanced, and still get crashes when attempting to use oil paint. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Installed TWAIN devices: NONECrash info helps, but it would seem that you just see the old "intel chips don't cut it" problem. Turn of the intel graphics unit in the driver or even in the BIOS/ EFI. Perhaps updating your storage/ SATA driver when installing the SSD simply has re-enabled it.

Acrobat crashes when using the Instance Manager
I am using Designer 7.0/Acrobat 7.0.1 on Win XP SP 2 (and tested on two other machines with the same config), and also Mac OS X 10.3.9 with Acrobat 7.0.1.
The crash occurs when my script tries to hide a subform, but only when the script is called from a Drop-Down List. I have mocked up a brand new PDF and the problem is still there:

If you click the Show/Hide Subform buttons it works fine. If you choose an item from the List Box it shows the subform correctly, and then choose one of the 'Other Mag' items and it hides the subform correctly. Do the same process with the Drop-Down List and it is guaranteed to crash when you choose an 'Other Mag' item (which should hide the subform). The Mac has no problem with crashing at all!
The crash message (that appears after the 'Send feedback to Microsoft' message is 'The instruction at "0x2d864aa2" referenced memory at "0x00000008". The memory could not be "read". Click on "OK" to terminate the program.' This exact error happens on all PC's that I tested on, in Acrobat Pro or Reader.
Can someone please help me identify if this is a bug in Acrobat or is there something I'm not doing right?

Statechart module: crashes when I want to save state
I am using the LV Statechart Module (version 8.6.0). LabVIEW crashes when I want to save a state (by clicking "OK" on the state dialog). The crash does only occur if I have some member VIs of a quite large class hierarchy in the state. It does not occur if I for example just wire through the simple error cluster that is part of my state data cluster.
Does anyone have an idea how I could avoid this problem?
The LabVIEW failure log file is attached.

lvlog07-08-09-18-04-09.txt 2 KBLooking at this quickly, I do not know the core root cause, but I am guessing that you could work around it by putting your guard or action code into a subVI and using that subVI instead of placing the code directly in the guard/action. Something appears to be going wrong as we try to commit the guard/action VI you created for the state - I am guessing there is a bug in this process as it encounters some of the class stuff you are using, and using a subVI to wrap it will avoid this.
Any chance you can provide the files needed to reproduce this (either here or privately if you prefer). The stack tells me a little bit but we'll have a much better chance of resolving this fully in a future release if we can reproduce it here.

LC crashes when I open the XML
My form is loading slower and slower which I'm suspecting that my xml is bloated. However when I attempt to view the xml I receive a runtime error and livecycle crashes. Is there a way that I can fix this?
I know this is an older thread but for anyone out there who
still has this issue (as I did) here is the problem.
For some reason, the program repeats a line of the code or copies it so that it's there again and again to the point where that same line occurs hundreds or thousands of times. This will immediately be obvious if you look at the "XML Source" tab in LiveCycle when you scroll down and have 500 pages of the same line.
This is the line that kept repeating for me:

I had a hundred thousand lines or so of this clogging up my form. Once I got rid of them the problems went away. I don't know if others will have the same problem or not but I just deleted all but one of these wherever it occured and it was fixed. Somewhere in the settings you can turn on the lines for the XML editor in LiveCycle and I suggest doing so. A regular, no frills document will probably be under 800 lines so it's easy to get a handle on about how many your document should have. Pictures will lengthen your XML though so keep that in mind if you choose to check this. If the XML tab doesn't show up next to the "Master Pages" tab or the regular tab, you can right-click to the right of those tabs and check XML Source to have the tab show up.
This solution is for the 8.2 version. You should only do this if you can't open the document in a newer version of this program.

I have a HUGE problem... in fact I have had lots of problems with Illustrator... but this is anoying.
At least 10 times a day the program just crashes when moving objects... some time text, some time pictures, sometime lines.
Every time i submit a CRASH report with the details... but really I think they are TRASH reports, I mean I have NEVER get an answer, update or ANYTHING from ADOBE.
Last week I almost lost my job because of the ineficiency of the program, the thing is that I used to work with Corel and I was the one who tooked the desicion to change to Illustrator, so I spend the money on an entire suite,GOD!!
My question is simple, it may sound bad, but honestly Can I get my money back? Does anyone have heard about someone getting just so frustrated with the suite like me?
I love PS, I work just fine with DW, but Illustrator and Adobe support is killing me and leaving me without job.

LiveCycle Crashes Continuously
LiveCycle continues to crash when I rename Text Fields/modify the Text. I haven't been able to replicate it with other controls.
I've been able to save most of my work by continuing to save after EACH change, but when the program restarts all of the toolbars have been reset (an additional irritation).
Naturally, I can't talk to tech support as this was a corporate installation and I don't have a Serial #.

SmittyThe following procedure has helped me on an older version of Designer, not sure if it's going to work for you though:<br /><br />1) uninstall your Designer<br /><br />2) remove everything (or as much as you can) in the following folders:<br /><br />C:\Documents and Settings\<your ID>\Application Data\Adobe\Designer<br /><br />C:\Documents and Settings\<your ID>\Local Settings\Application Data\Adobe\Acrobat<br /><br />C:\Documents and Settings\<your ID>\Local Settings\Temp<br /><br />3) reinstall Designer<br /><br />hope this helps

Safari crashes when deleting email on AOL
I'm at wits end (which is saying little in my case). When I go to the
AOL website, read email, select one or several emails, and then click
on the "delete" trashcan icon Safari crashes immediately.
I've tried repairing disk permissions, resetting Safari, cleaning out
the plist file(s), deleting and reinstalling Safari and Java, and
generally yelling, breaking pencils and making burnt offerings to
Shiva using nearby CDs.
Any help would be appreciated, by all in the household.

Deleting AOL Mail, crashes Safari/Consolidated
It seems the most recent Safari, and or 10.4.4, update has created this problem.
Apple & AOL are both aware of this, but, as far as I know, no correction has been implemented.
Here are some of the work arounds, that I have been able to discern from the various posts regarding this issue.

Use the FIREFOX BROWSER.
Use your AOL Mail program.
Use this utility AOL SERVICES UTILITY, to set up Apple Mail, to access AOL Mail.
Access the AOL Mail thru Classic AOL Webmail.

Firefox crashing when closing and at other random times
Hi - I'm running firefox 6.0.2 on a Win7 64-bit machine that my cowowker uses. Starting a day or two ago, FF began crashing instead of starting. I can start it in Safe Mode, and I believe I've removed all the add-ons. When in safe mode I can use FF, but it still crashes occasionally, especially if I'm trying to open something in another tab or window. Also, it crashes when I click the X; at least, it shuts down and then the crash reporter pops up. Windows is updated, and I'm stumped. Hope someone can help! This report also contains technical information about the state of the application when it crashed.The message to restart your computer, in multiple languages, is a kernel panic. This is usually, but not always, caused by hardware, with memory being the leading cause.
You might want to run the Apple hardware test, which is on the original gray-faced OS X disks that came with the mini. FInd the one that says 'AHT Version x.x' in small print on the label, insert and reboot holding the alt/option key down. Choose the Apple hardware test, and when prompted, choose the extended test. You can also download Rember from http://kelleycomputing.net/rember/ if you want to really test the memory. Set it up and let it run over night.

Firefox constantly crashes when it opens and when tabs are changed.
Ever since 4/19 of this year, Firefox has been randomly crashing when I open it, and after restarting it will crash randomly during sessions, generally when switching tabs I've noticed (though not always).

Any help would be appreciated.One of the bug reports linked to your crashes says the HTTPS Everywhere extension could be a contributing factor. Would you try disabling it for 48 hours and see whether that makes any difference?
You can do that on the Add-ons page. Either:
* Ctrl+Shift+a
* orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Extensions.
Some of these crashes are related to the "Just in Time" (JIT) JavaScript compiler(s). You could try disabling some of those features to see whether that helps. Alternately, you could run Firefox in its Safe Mode for a period of time since that disables them automatically (but in that case, extensions also are disabled).

Crash when starting a performance/memory profile
I'm having a catastrophic crash when I hit the 'Start' button in the Profile -> Performance and Memory... dialog. There is no error message whatsoever, and when I restart Labview, it only asks me about files to recover, it doesn't tell me where it crashed (i.e. somefile.cpp line ###). Well, it might have told me once, but now it doesn't, so unless there is a log of these things somewhere, I can't say much more.
I'm using Labview 2009, and I'm having the exact same issue on at least 2 machines which are fairly different (Win XP 32 bit vs Win7 64 bit (with Labview 32 bit)).
The application is pretty large (~1500 vi's), so it's kind of hard to tell what is making it crash.
The problem can be replicated in different ways:
1) Load main VI which loads all the VI's in memory
2) Start Performance/Memory profile *crash*
1) Load VI
2) Start VI (runs in a loop)
3) Start Performance/Memory profile while it runs *crash*
1) Start Performance/Memory profile
2) Some NI VI's show up in the list with '0' time everywhere
3) Load VI
4) Execute VI
5) Stop execution of VI *crash*
Any clues? Is there a log somewhere that could help me/you find the issue?
I could spend all day trying to load different parts of the project and look for problems, but I have no idea what to look for.
Last Friday I had successfully profiled what I wanted to, then I had another crash... Oh I remember now... I did a 'Search' in my project, looked for a particular string, and it crashed after a while in the middle of the search. Since then I was unable to use the profile tool. Could it be some data corruption? We use SourceSafe... so I wouldn't be surprised if it gave me a corrupted file If so, how could I find it?

I actually found an incident like yours involving the performance and memory tool crashing when used for specific VIs which were very large. How big (in terms of filesize) is your VI?
R&D found this issue in LV 2009 and fixed it in 2010 under Corrective Action Request 215410.
Is there any way you could try and test your issue out on a machine with LV 2010?
