LiveCycle Designer ES4 Crashes when trying to distribute a form

Hi
I created a dynamic form in LSDesigner ES4. It includes some figures as well as some JavaScript. The form works fine in the PDFPreview mode within LS ES4. When I try to distribute it (choosing "by email", "save locally") Acrobat XI Pro is being opened and crashes.
Does anyone else have that problem. WHen I create a new form containing only a text box, the same thing happens and the form cannot be distributed.
Thank you for your help,
Olivio

    Hi,
    You have the choice between xml or pdf, in later versions of designer you can choose with a dropdown on the email button Object palette, the "Submit As";
    In earlier version you had to edit the XML Source and change the format from xml to pdf (or vice-versa);

  • Server can't create my workspace error when trying to distribute a form?

I am trying to distribute a form using Acrobat.com.  When I enter the email addresses, the program goes to work and then tells me that it can't create a workspace on the server.  Am I missing something in the process?
Thank you in advance for any help I can get.

Acrobat.com Workspaces has been retired. See: FAQ: Adobe Workspaces is being retired
For Acrobat X & 9 users, when you Select “Distribute” from the Forms tool pane in your Acrobat software, you will no longer see the option to distribute your form with Acrobat.com. You will still be able to distribute your form via email or your own internal server.

  • Acrobat 9 Pro Extended crashes when trying to distribute form

    Hi.
I am experiencing an issue with Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Extended on Windows XP Pro SP3 32-bit.
I have created a pdf file derived from an html and css file.
The pdf file comes out perfectly with form fields automatically detected, etc.
However, when I try to distribute the form, by clicking on
    1. Forms > Distribute Form...
    2. Manually collect responses in my email inbox..
    3. Save a local copy and manually send it later.
Acrobat.exe crashes with faulting module acroform.api. when trying to create the response file.
Faulting application acrobat.exe, version 9.0.0.332, faulting module acroform.api, version 9.0.0.332, fault address 0x00025878.
    Any ideas?
I can successfully distribute a different form created from InDesign.
    Thank you.

Any ideas?   there was an update on adobe dated 2/25/13.   Perhaps if I uninstall it?   I need advice on how to uninstall. When I view updates and click on it, and then click uninstall, it goes back to the Program Screen, in Control, for all programs. Then do I click on Acrobat and Uninstall?  I am nervous about doing this. Thanks

  • Adobe Pro X crashes when trying to "Distribute"

Started seeing problem  when I was viewing a pdf file. I was scrolling down rather fast and it crashed.   Now I see crashes when I am trying to use "Distribute".  Files which worked previously in "Distribute" now crash system also.   I think it might be an update?  Saw one update Feb 25, 2013 for Pro X and Reader X. Could this be issue?  If so, how do I uninstall these updates?  But looking for help before I do anything.Thanks........Pick ><>

I see in your Acrobat topic that you are on Windows.  Can you check the event logs if there are any information on the crash you are experiencing?

  • Designer ES crashes when trying to open/save file

I just installed LiveCycle Designer ES (8.1.1.2188.1.406459) as a standalone application from a licensed CD on Windows XP.
When I try to "save" or "open" a file Designer crashes.
The standard windows "open" or "save as" dialog box will display for a few seconds and then the entire application disappers.
I have worked with my tech support contacts for several days with no resolution. This error causes Designer to be totally unusable.
    Anyone have any solutions?
    Thanks, Greg

Thanks, Paul. I've been building this form for over a week and did not encounter the crash/truncating issue until yesterday (and it only seems to be occuring with this specific form.) I ran into this twice, both times after building the fifth page of the form (my baseline version is through 4 pages.) I will attempt to narrow this issue down so that it can be recreated, but it will take some time as I will have to make a backup of the form periodically to avoid losing the file. I'm guessing this issue is either caused by the content comprising the form itself, or possibly that Designer has hit some sort of memory threshold.
One other thought, I'm saving the file as a Dynamic XML form (PDF), would it be a better idea to store it as an XDP?

  • Acrobat 9 pro crashes when trying to distribute

    win xp sp3
    acrobat 9 pro
    new-ish to acrobat
I have an interactive form, created in acrobat 9 pro. Every time I try to distribute it (forms > distribute form > manually collect responses in my email inbox > save a local copy and manualy send it later > finish) it crashes & I get an error message: "AppName: acrobat.exe, AppVer: 9.5.2.295, ModName: acrobat.dll, ModVer: 9.5.2.295, Offset: 00604f17"
The really odd thing here is that it only does this if I try to save it over the network. If I open the form from/save to a local drive e.g. the desktop or a thumb drive it works fine.
Anyone got any idea what's going on & what to do about it?
    TIA

There was an update this last week, taking the current version to 9.3.2. The early versions often have little bugs like you describe, so an update is the first thing to try. If you download the updates from Adobe.com (the downloads>updates page), be sure to download all of them and then install them in order. If you use the updates under help, you can usually update the lowest number one they show and return for any further updates.

  • Reader XI crashes when trying to fill-in form

    Hello,
I purchased CS2 many years ago which included Adobe Acrobat Pro. I've since upgraded my Mac and the OS would not support CS2 any longer. I lost the installer CDs so cannot re-install Acrobat Pro. I always register my software, but for some reason Adobe has no record of this, so I can't even prove I used to have it. So until I purchase another CS, I'm stuck with Adobe Reader.
My problem is every time I need to fill-in a form on Adobe Reader XI, it crashes. (There's a purple bar at the top clearly indicating that it's an interactive form.) The moment I put my curser in a field, it crashes. This has been going on for months now. It's really annoying to have to print-off and fill-in forms by hand which I used to type in Acrobat Pro with no issues.
Any assistance or information on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,

  • Display issue with LiveCycle Designer ES4 for cropped PDF in WIN7

    Hi,
I am having issue displaying the cropped PDF file in the LiveCycle Designer ES4. The PDF files are cropped 3 inches from bottom using Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional. It used to display properly when we have a WinXP machine but once we moved to a Win7 machine, it cannot display the top part of the PDF anymore. Can anyone help on how to fix the display issue? Thanks.

    Thanks vNohria.
I am having same issue with Adobe Acrobat 9. The Acrobat 9 cropped file is displaying properly under WinXP but have the same issue as above in Win7. This issue seems uncommon as I tried to look for similar issue  and couldn't find any.
P.S. It's only the Design View in Win7 that has the issue, I can still see the file fine with Preview PDF in both enviornment.

  • Can't obtain a query result/show more data on LiveCycle Designer ES4 (Windows 7)

    Hi all,
I'm having some problems with LiveCycle Designer ES4 and a database connection.
I have successfully connected my fields to a DataConnection but I only can see the first info of the database.
I want to go through the rest of the data, I've tryied several tutorials (for example commands like xfa.sourceSet.{my Data Connection name}.next), I've tryied several DB types (SQL Server and Access (.mdb and .accdb)), I've tryed in all types of events (click, exit, initialize, and so on) and the result is the same.
I've tryied something so simple like, create a OLEDB connection in Access, bind the fields (4 textfields), create a button with the code "xfa.sourceSet.{my Data Connection name}.next" (like the tutorial at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C56_Cz-aE0c) and nothing.
Differences between the tutorial and me: The version of Designer (Tutorial ES2, mine ES4).
Someone know what it could be? Is there some sample where can I see the code used?
    Thanks in advance.

    Thank you Denis,
the database is intalled on the same server (Solaris-Unix) that boe and the databse is running.
I have to install the driver when the database is in the same server?
    thanks in advance
    Mauricio
