LiveCycle Forms with JBoss version newer than 3.2.5

I searched and found a post back in August stating that LiveCycle Forms will not work with JBoss 4.x.
Has there been any update to this situation? Is Adobe planning to support versions of JBoss newer than 3.2.5?
Thanks,
Eddie

No change at the moment. You still need JBoss version 3.2.5. JBoss 4.x support should be available in the future.

    Thats good news.
    Is there a way currently to populate the livecycle static pdf with data in offline mode in iOS/ Andriod? For eg. if the data is in a xml file, is there a way to populate it into pdf in offline mode? If not, is it possible to achieve this in native code? Kindly help.

  • Why are some websites, such as the FAFSA (federal financial aid for students) website or the BNY Mellon website, denying access to users running Firefox versions newer than 3.6?

    Why are some websites that are important to many people, such as the FAFSA (federal financial aid for students) website or the Bank of New York Mellon website, not permitting access to computers running Firefox versions newer than 3.6 when Mozilla is claiming that 5.0 is more stable and secure?
    The following information was displayed in regards to this issue -

    "An Incompatible Browser Has Been Detected:

    For the past few years, every major Web browser released has been built around a set of open standards designated by the World Wide Web Consortium, a non-profit organization charged with overseeing the continuing development of the Web. What this means is that one piece of code now looks the same on every modern browser, whether it be Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, Opera, or others. The majority of our users are using these modern browsers, so we can present content which is optimized for them. "

    That is a question for those websites to answer. Firefox 4.0 was released almost 4 months ago, IMO more than enough time for those 2 websites to verify that Firefox 4 & 5 are compliant with W3C standards.
    To be able to access that FAFSA website, my advice is to install the Portable Firefox 3.6.19 version to your hard drive. It won't affect your other Firefox installation. <br />

    Unfortunately not. Firefox 2.0.0.20 is the last version that runs of OS X 10.3

  • Itextsharp using livecycle form with dynamic table

    Hello all, after searching Google for the past two days and not able to find any relevant information, hence this post.
    Some background:
    1) Created a pdf form using Adobe Livecycle designer 9.
    2) It is a dynamic form with textboxes and a table configured to repeat rows dynamically.
    3) Testing form using xml data within designer works just fine.
    Requirement:
    Need to populate form dynamically using data from database.
    Solution:
    Found iTextSharp (free assembly) which assists with populating existing pdf form.
    Issue
    This assembly works without any issue when populating textfields (see sample code below). The problem I am facing is with the dynamic table where in I am not able to reference rows greater than 1. Since the pdf template contains a table with just one row referencing the first row using acrofield works.
    I was under impression since this is a dynamic table with repeat enabled, in asp.net if I referenced row2 onwards the table would grow automatically. Which I have come to realize is not going to be possible.
    So I am looking for ideas on how I can accomplish this. I wish this could have been a fixed row table then reference rows would have been easier. However in this situation the table has to be dynamic.
    Any ideas thoughts would be appreciated.
    Below is my sample code:
    PdfStamper ps = null;
    try {
    // read existing PDF document
    PdfReader r = new PdfReader(
    // optimize memory usage
    new RandomAccessFileOrArray(Request.MapPath("itext.pdf")), null
    ps = new PdfStamper(r, Response.OutputStream);
    // retrieve properties of PDF form w/AcroFields object
    AcroFields af = ps.AcroFields;
    // fill in PDF fields by parameter:
    // 1. field name
    // 2. text to insert
    af.SetField("txtCompany", "Company name");
    af.SetField("txtDateDepartLocation", "date depart location");
    af.SetField("txtDate","test date");
    af.SetField("txtServiceNumber", "Service number");
    af.SetField("Table2.Row1.Cell1", "1test");  this works
    //doesnt work!!!
    af.SetField("Table2.Row2.Cell1", "1test");
    af.SetField("Table2.Row3.Cell1", "1test");
    // make resultant PDF read-only for end-user
    ps.FormFlattening = true;
    // forget to close() PdfStamper, you end up with
    // a corrupted file!
    ps.Close();
    catch { }
    finally { if (ps != null) ps.Close(); }

    Hi FourEyes;
    Try using this.
    Select Col1, Col2, Col3
    into :P1_Field1, :P1_Field2, :P1_Field3

  • Merge LiveCycle Form with XML using JAVA

    Hello.
    I am trying to find out how to merge non-interactive form with XML (using JAVA) so the users can see the final output form with the data filled in.
    What are my choices..?
    So far, I have created the interactive forms as template using LiveCycle 8 and wrote ASP.NET code to extract data and store it in SQL database when the user fill out and submit the form.
    It works great but another agency wants to access the form as well.
    They told us that they will create the XML themselves from the database, so they just need to combine the form with XML to display it (non-interactive form).
    They want to use JAVA but I am not sure how to do that...
    Any suggestion?

    Assuming that you start with XML in an org.w3c.dom.Document that stores the XML data. Before you can merge it into a form, you have to convert it to a com.adobe.idp.Document object. TO convert a org.w3c.dom.Document to a com.adobe.idp.Document object -- use the following Java code:
    private Document convertDataSource(org.w3c.dom.Document myDOM)
    byte[] mybytes = null;
    try
    //Create a Java Transformer object
    TransformerFactory transFact = TransformerFactory.newInstance();
    Transformer transForm = transFact.newTransformer();
    //Create a Java ByteArrayOutputStream object
    ByteArrayOutputStream myOutStream = new ByteArrayOutputStream();
    //Create a Java Source object
    javax.xml.transform.dom.DOMSource myInput = new DOMSource(myDOM);
    //Create a Java Result object
    javax.xml.transform.stream.StreamResult myOutput = new StreamResult(myOutStream);
    //Populate the Java ByteArrayOutputStream object
    transForm.transform(myInput,myOutput);
    // Get the size of the ByteArrayOutputStream buffer
    int myByteSize = myOutStream.size();
    //Allocate myByteSize to the byte array
    mybytes = new byte[myByteSize];
    //Copy the content to the byte array
    mybytes = myOutStream.toByteArray();
    catch (Exception e) {
    System.out.println("The following exception occurred: "+e.getMessage());
    //Create a com.adobe.idp.Document object and copy the
    //contents of the byte array
    Document myDocument = new Document(mybytes);
    return myDocument;
    THen you can merge myDocument into the Form using renderPDFFOrm:
    FormsResult formOut = formsClient.renderPDFForm(
    formName, //formQuery
    myDocument, //inDataDoc
    pdfFormRenderSpec, //PDFFormRenderSpec
    uriValues, //urlSpec
    fileAttachments //attachments
    Hope this helps!

  • Adobe LiveCycle Form Properties Target Version Issue

    Hello,
    I created forms with javascript, which it manipulate the form base upon users selection on different drop downs. I have set the form target version to "Acrobat and Adobe Reader 7.0.5 and above" but there are user using Adobe Reader 7.0.9 and 7.1.0 are experiencing problems. The form were either not working properly or unable to save their data. I did enabled "Extended Features on Adobe Reader" on Acrobat Pro 9. I tried to set target version to "Acrobat and Adobe Reader 6.0.2 and above" but the form will not work at all. The form works fine on Adobe Reader 8 and 9. Thanks in advance.

    Paul,
    I just have another user experiencing problems. I double checked their Adobe Reader version, which is 7.0.9. The issue they are having is that they can load, fill and save form fine but when they edit the saved form, they can't. Do you have any idea why they couldn't edit the saved form even I have already enable that feature?

  • Local version newer than repo version.

    I got sick of using Enlightenment 16.7.1 (newest in the repo) so I altered the PKGBUILD and made 16.7.2-1 and now I get this whenever I use pacman..
    :: enlightenment: local version (0.16.7.2-1) is newer than repo version (0.16.7.1-2
    Is there a "right" way to make that just.. go away?

    Yes, it is very easy.
    1. Put your pkgbuilds in a heirarchical structure, much like in abs. I have the following structure for mine.
    /var/abs/local/
    /var/abs/local/amavisd-new
    /var/abs/local/ltsp-utils
    /var/abs/local/mod_ruby
    /var/abs/local/php
    /var/abs/local/postfix
    /var/abs/local/webalizer
    The pkgbuilds and the related files are in their respective folders..
    2. Move the binary packages that are resultant from building the packages to a folder of your choosing. Like /home/eliott/public_html/archlinux/binary-packages/ for example.
    3.
    gensync /var/abs/local/ /home/eliott/public_html/archlinux/binary-packages/cactus_repo.db.tar.gz
    The first part of the db.tar.gz target is the name of the repository that you would put in brackets in pacman.conf.
    4. Put rule in pacman.conf
    If you wan't it to override what is in the archlinux repos, then put it first.
    [cactus_repo]
    Server = file:///home/eliott/public_html/archlinux/binary-packages
    #Server = http://cactuswax.net/~eliott/archlinux/binary-packages
    The first server is if the repo is on the same machine. The second one, commented out, is if it is on a different machine. This is very useful if you have alot of servers, and want to centrally manage package deployment.
    Now, everytime you update a package or add a new one, you can just rerun the gensync command above, and it will rebuild the repo list for you.

  • I need to download firefox 4.x I teach online and Firefox versions newer than 4.x are NOT compatable with the online teaching software (Blackboard).

    Apparently not any longer. this link takes me to a page telling me 3.6 isout of date and then that the newone isn't compatible with my operating system. but i think it means with my PowerPC processors.
    Surely there are copies of 3.6 in the server somewhere. i know i'm behind,but i'm not a Luddite. it's just that this PowerPC mac still works great for the stuff i do.

  • Submit form with response in new browser window

    Is it possible to set up a submit button so that it pops up the response in a separate browser window?  With an HTML form, I can do it using target="_blank", but not aware of any such option on a LiveCycle submit button.
    If it can't be done, maybe there's another way to do what I need.  Users complete the data-entry PDF form and submit the data to a servlet, which returns another (different) PDF.  My user may look at this PDF, see a problem, and want to return to the data-entry form to change what he's entered before regenerating the output.  However, by this point my original data-entry PDF is gone.  I am not using LiveCycle on the server.  Any ideas?

    Many thanks for your help on this Paul.  I decided to go with the hostContainer approach despite my reservations.  Here's a simplified version of my servlet.  This version simply parrots back the XML in a separate browser window.  I hope this helps someone.

  • How to populate dynamic table in Adobe Livecycle form with cfpdfform?

    Hello all,
    after two days search on the above topic without results I hope someone here can help me.
    The problem:
    I have an Adobe PDF form created with Adobe Livecycle Designer that has a dynamic table inside it. The table Table1 consists of a Header Row with 4 cells of text and a data row Row1 with four cells each one having a Textfield Cell1, Cell2,Cell3 and Cell4.
    Table1 sits inside a subform mytable. The subform is made to flow and the Row1 has the Binding Repeat Row for Each Data Item checked.
    Everything is enclosed within the standard subform form1.
    Whe I use the following code, I supposed that the table should have two rows..because it is said it will be dynamic:
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
    <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
    <head>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />
    <title>Untitled Document</title>
    </head>
    <body>
    <cfpdfform action="populate" source="test.pdf" destination="testout.pdf" overwrite="yes" >
    <cfpdfsubform name="form1">
      <cfpdfsubform name="mytable">
        <cfpdfsubform name="Table1">
          <cfpdfsubform name="Row1">
            <cfpdfformparam name="Cell1" value="1">
            <cfpdfformparam name="Cell2" value="2">
            <cfpdfformparam name="Cell3" value="3">
            <cfpdfformparam name="Cell4" value="4">
          </cfpdfsubform>
          <cfpdfsubform name="Row2">
            <cfpdfformparam name="Cell1" value="5">
            <cfpdfformparam name="Cell2" value="6">
            <cfpdfformparam name="Cell3" value="7">
            <cfpdfformparam name="Cell4" value="8">
          </cfpdfsubform>
        </cfpdfsubform>
      </cfpdfsubform>
    </cfpdfsubform>
    </cfpdfform>
    <cfpdfform action="read" source="testout.pdf" result="testout" />
    <cfdump var="#testout#">
    </body>
    </html>
    What happes is:
    The testout.pdf displays just one row,with the values 1,2,3,4 the second row is only visible when I export the data as xml but not within the PDF.
    Please can someone enlighten me?
    Thanks and regards
    Gilbert

    When populating your pdf fields, you can loop through all the records in a query like so...
       <cfloop from="1" to="#query1.recordCount#" index="i">
                <cfpdfformparam name="txtField1_#i#" value="#query1.Field1[i]#">
                <cfpdfformparam name="txtField2_#i#" value="#query1.Field2[i]#">
      </cfloop>
    This will handle two rows or thirty rows just the same.  In this case my fields in the pdf have the row # as a suffix.

    For those of you without the time to explore the Cisco site. I thought you guys might want to know about the following vulnerability. Which is fixed in the latest firmware version 1.3.2.0 for the RVS-4000:

    Software Versions and Fixes
    To determine the software version running on a camera, administrators can click the "About" tab at the top-right of the device user interface. The software version information can be obtained on the System Status page under the "Status" tab.
    The latest camera software can be downloaded at http://tools.cisco.com/support/downloads/go/Redirect.x?mdfid=282414029 ( registered customers only) .
    The software version of the RVS4000 is displayed on the main router page displayed after users log in.
    The latest RVS4000 software can be downloaded at http://tools.cisco.com/support/downloads/pub/Redirect.x?mdfid=282413304 ( registered customers only) .
    When considering software upgrades, also consult http://www.cisco.com/go/psirt and any subsequent advisories to determine exposure and a complete upgrade solution.
    In all cases, customers should exercise caution to be certain the devices to be upgraded contain sufficient memory and that current hardware and software configurations will continue to be supported properly by the new release. If the information is not clear, contact the Cisco Small Business Support Center or your contracted maintenance provider for assistance.

    Yes, I posted this same information in the Video Surveillance section a few weeks ago.  it was actually a Partner on the
    community who found this and brought it to our attention and we fixed it.
    Thanks for cross posting here, since you are right in it also effected this router.
    And a big thank you for taking the time to collaborate some very useful information with the community.  I have noticed your recent posts and I think they are well writen, helpful, and well organized.   I also like your idea of turning some threads into solutions documents and resource labs perhaps.
    If you would ever like to post something of that natire, you may also.  Just creat a document with your findings.
