  • KM integration with LiveLink document management systems

Is there any documentation on using the SAP KM as a passthrough or pointer to existing LiveLink instance or instances ???

    Hi Charles,
first of all you need a LiveLink Repository Manager to connect the system to the KM Repository Framework. I don't know, if such a connector is already available, but you can implement your own, if necessary.

  • Livelink ECM u2013 eDOCS (Hummingbird)

    Dear Expert,
I would like to find out if anyone has encountered an implementation with both SBO and an archiving system called 'Livelink ECM u2013 eDOCS', also known as Hummingbird?
I ask because we seem to have a problem with the coexistance of the two systems. SBO 2007A uses\reserves a certain COM for XL Reporter in Microsoft Excel 2007. When SBO is removed, eDOCS works fine. In earlier versions of Microsoft Excel, for example 2003, this is not a problem. I assume it wasn't handled like a COM Add-in.
Do you have any suggestions, possibly to configure XL Reporter on another COM?
Seeing that XL Reporter is no longer running as an add-on in 2007, is it possible to disable it for the time being?
    Best regards,
    Adriaan

    Gordon,
I'm thinking of installing SBO on a workstation with no MS Office, in order for it not to automatically install the COM. Then to install eDocs and MS Office. Once that is all working, I will then manually add the XL Reporter COM.
    Your opinion is always appreciated.

I can't find anything on this LLConnect API in the SES.
Do I need to have the LiveLink Java API somewhere in the SES classpath, or where would I identify this resource as being available?

    Hi,
this is from SES Admin docu:
    Required Tasks
Because Open Text Livelink software is not included with Oracle SES, certain files must be copied manually into Oracle SES. Copy the lapi.jar file from LAPI installation folder into ORACLE_HOME/search/lib/plugins/llcs.

  • Are there any problems with a "required Extended Protection" / "Always On" / "Livelink Server" combination?

    Hello,
we have a Livelink  Server database running with two replicas on two nodes as Always On Group, both instances running extended protection in "allowed" mode.
Our company security policy demands setting the extended protection to "required".
Are there any known problems with a "required Extended Protection" / "Always On" / "Livelink Server" combination?
    Environment:
    OS: Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise X64 SP1
    DB: SQL Server 2012 (11.0.5556.0)
    Thx & BR
    Achim

    Hi Achim,
According to my knowledge, there are no known problems with a "required Extended Protection" / "Always On" / "Livelink Server" combination.
Extended Protection helps to prevent an authentication relay attack by using service binding and channel binding. We need to note that when Extended Protection is set to
Required, only connections from protected applications on protected operating systems are accepted. This setting is the most secure but connections from operating systems or applications that do not support Extended Protection will not be able
to connect to SQL Server. For more details, please review the following article.
Connect to the Database Engine Using Extended Protection

  • OT - anyone ever use Livelink

    Hi
I am working on a site that uses Livelink for its content
    management, but
have run into a problem. In trying to find a solution I came
    across a
document which tells me to open up the Livelink admin utility
    and locate the
'PostPage' script, but for the life of me I cannot see it
    anywhere.
Anyone use this software before and can shed some light on
    the location of
    this script/page?
    Thanks

  • Shared Reviews - Livelink WebDAV

One instance of Livelink 9.7.1 has utilised Adobe Acrobats ability to send and collate data for reviewing documents via Shared Reviews. This instance of Livelink require a username and password to gain access, and Acrobat asks for these credentials and all works as it should.
There is however a configuration/authorisation issue when trying to connect to another instance of Livelink using the WebDAV URL in Acrobat, Acrobat doesn't seem to authenticate with this instance, this instance of Livelink uses Single Sign-on with our network domain Active Directory.
This is the error we are getting: -
Has anyone else come across an issue when using WebDAV in this manner?
We are using Acrobat 9 Pro.
    Thanks

By server information, I mean the server type (webDAV/SharePoint/Network folder/Acrobat.com) on which you initiate the review in A9. What option do you choose during shared review initiation?
What is the error message that you get on opening A9 created files in A10? Can you send me one such testfile at ambooATadobeDOTcom (the one created in Acrobat 9)?

  • Broadcom LiveLink : Receiving MAC flaps with Cisco Nexus 7000

We are migrating from using two Nortel 8600's running VRRP at the distribution to Cisco Nexus 7K's using HSRP.  So we have a server connected to two 3750G switches which then connect to the Nexi (previously the 8600's).  As soon as we connected the 3750's to the Nexus and moved the gateway to Nexus, LiveLink forces all the servers to alternate traffic between NIC1 and NIC2.
Since LiveLink is a teaming application, it uses virtual mac for nic1 and nic2, but the virtual mac associated with the IP address moves to the active link.
LiveLink is used to check the availability of the gateway by polling the gateway out of each interface using an ARP request.
The problem does not exhibit itself in our Cisco VSS environment, and with Nortel's VRRP.  I tried running VRRP on the Nexus but no joy.
Anyone know of a bug that could cause this issue?

Unfortunately we have LiveLink enabled on most of our Windows servers in our data centers.  One of my colleagues sent me this bug issue.  I'm not sure if this is the cause, but it's worth trying.   We will update the NxOs (currently on 5.1.1) next week and see if that fixes the problem.
    •CSCtl85080
Symptom: Incomplete Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) entries are observed on a Cisco Nexus 7000 Series switch, along with partial packet loss and a memory leak.
Conditions: This symptom might be seen when ARP packets have a nonstandard size (that is, greater than 64 bytes).
Workaround: This issue is resolved in 5.1.3.

  • What's the relationship between Livelink and Opentext?

Could any expert kindly explain this?
    Thanks a lot!

    Hi,
IXOS and Opentext Livelink is basically the one and the same. Basically they are 3rd party SAP cerrtified archiving softwares.
IXOS was bough by a company called opentext.
For details on SAP and Opentext, please follow this link - Opentext is a SAP Partner now.

For why and how IXOS moved into Opentext - check this link.

  • Opentext ECM Livelink - Archive Server 9.7 - Is AIX a valid platform

    Hi All,
Can anyone tell us, whether Opentext ECM Livelink - Archive Server 9.7 is supported on AIX - Oracle platform or not? If yes, then which version and patch level etc for OS and DB?
We do not have access to Opentext Knowledge base and so we could not get the information from there. However, from SAP service marketplace we found the Release Notes for Archive Server 9.6 and that seems to support AIX. But we found the Release Notes for Archive server 9.7 from a friend and there, AIX is not mentioned specifically as a supported OS. We are confused as whether for Opentext ECM Livelink - Archive Server 9.7, AIX is supported or not. Any help/resources will be greatly appreciated. Also any note on hardware sizing would be very much helpful.
    Regards,
    Priya

    Hi All,
Thanks for your responses. We got in touch with ECM initially and the Customer Service Executive informed us that if only we have procured the product they would share the requested information. However, I was lucky 2nd time, I wrote to them and they did respond with all the useful information. Currently Archive Server 9.7 is not OFFICIALLY supported by AIX (ECM has not tested), though they mentioned that all Unix platforms support Archive Server 9.7.
    Thanks,
    Priya

  • SSO and external applications

    Hello folks,
Due to my inexperience with PS6, I'm looking for some high-level outline that will help me look in the right places and understand things better here.
I have an external application that requires authentication via a web form (or by attaching the username and password on the URL as parameters).
What I want to do is have a channel of this application and utilize information from the SSO mechanism to redirect the request to that remote app and provide the credentials for a transparent login.
From what I understand this can be done by having a servlet in that channel to retrieve the credentials of the user for that remote application from the SSO and then redirect to the external application, attaching the credentials to the URL.
Is the above correct? I would appreciate any pointers or considerations since my experience with PS is minimal.
    Thanks in advance,
    Manos

I don't see a way to that servlet to retrieve a password for the user - it's not stored in the session.
    There are following options:
    1. OpenText LiveLink way: You have some "hidden" password for every user (based on user's ID and a shared key) known only to your server and this servlet. Servlet will supply this password.
    2. Normal way - web server: Implement login module to this application, which will trust REMOTE_USER variable provided by the agent on the web server.
    3. Normal way - standalone app: Implement login module to this application which will validate DSAME session cookie on the DSAME server. You can use example code in the SUNWam/samples/ of your server.
