LiveOffice User ID via Xcelsius

I am using a series of live office connections that access a webi report with multiple tabs. In the main Enterprise tab within the Excel Live Office Menu I try to use a generic logon that can refresh the report on demand and bring data back to the model.
I keep getting insufficient rights error, but when i log into Webi as the genric user i am able to see the webi report and refresh it without any problems.
When i leave the log on details blank, when prompted for the log on details it works fine.
Can someone please tell me how i can pass the current user id and password through to the model so i can refresh reports?
I have not at present got access to single sign via Windows AD so all connections are Enterprise based.

When i remove the the login details from LiveOffice within the excel sheet that provides the data for my Xcelsius model, when in preview mode i get prompted to enter a user name and password.
Yet when i access the models via Infoview with the user detail fields blank the models refresh data fine.
I get the error when i put a different user in teh user detail field other than Administrator.
The error is insufficient rights to view the report or the reports data. This is the confusing part as the user i enter can refresh the report in Infoview?

How to retrieve User Session in Xcelsius 2008

I am currently building dashboards with some securities on display. The dashboards have to show different views (e.g. Manager view with full access of data and Employee view with partial access of data) for different users, and I expect to get the user information (particularly user name) from the BO user session for making the security decision.
I can successfully retrieve the user session from Dashboard [url button] to JSP using openDocument (by looking at the cookies), but it seems that I have no way to import the data back to the Dashboard. When I am using Data Manager > XML Data (With XML datasource is a JSP file), it seems the user session cannot be retrieved.
So, my question is, how to retrieve the user Name in Xcelsius 2008 ?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

we did also some research activities about Xcelsius. We are passing the user name to the Xcelsius via Webservice. Based on the portal integration, you do not have to care about the authentication to the Webservice. This does the Enterprise Portal for you. For the integration, we are currently using a BSP solution. In this way, you can get the user name very simple:
sy-uname
You can put into the Webservice or provide it as Flash Variable to the Xcelsius in the <OBJECT> tag.

Hi Gurus,
I want to open webi report using URL BUTTON via xcelsius dashboard.
I genereted webi report url. and I tested it on borwser(explorer and firefox). ther was no problem, I can see webi report.
But When I used url button on xcelsius dashboard; first came bobje login page, After I İnput my logon info. ooops
seem below eror message.
An error has occurred: An error occured while trying to view the document
What is the problem? Anybody can help me, please.

Lumia 520 "Remote wipe of user data via Internet"

I'm interested in purchasing a Lumia 520 and read on the spec site that it can do "Remote wipe of user data via Internet" (http://www.nokia.com/in-en/phones/phone/lumia-520/specifications/).
Is there any special software that I need to be able to do this (like have it connected to a BlackBerry server in the case of enterprise BlackBerry devices) or is it as simple as stated on (http://www.noknok.tv/2013/05/02/how-to-find-your-lost-nokia-lumia-running-windows-phone-8/) where all you have to do is log into windowsphone.com where you can erase a linked phone?
This phone will be used for business so in case it is lost I need the ability te remote wipe it. Our company currently has a BB server and we all have BB devices, but with BB not doing so well I was thinking of getting a Nokia.

If there's no data connection, windowsphone.com cannot access your phone to send push notifications and if push notifications fail, then it will try to send SMS to your phone.
I just tried to ring my phone after taking out the SIM card, it was connected to wi-fi and I could ring it.

Is it possible to trace unauthorized users? (via ip address or terminal id)

I was wondering if you can help me out with our Logon Securities predicament: We have set up some generic apps ids that are only known to a handful of users. Regular but unauthorized users are trying to sign-on using these generic ids by guessing the password and end up locking them when they exceed sign-on attempts. Is it possible to trace these unauthorized users? (via ip address or terminal id?) (We are on 11.5.10)

We look at the time of the failure from the fnd_unsuccessful_logins and then correlate it with the AppsLocalLogin.jsp entries in the apache access logs. The ip address is in the access_log.
If you have a lot of logon failures combined with a lot of logons it may be tough to find the offending users but it might help you. Most of our users connect via SSO so finding our offenders are relatively easy. Very few users logon with AppsLocalLogin in our environment.

I distinguish it using the passwordExpirationTime(or something like that, i don't have code here with me).
This is possible if after password is expired user has at least one more access.It is a user policy that can be set in the Ldap server.
If it is possible, user can still login and perform operations.You chan search the passwordExpirationTime attribute and determine if password is expired, and the send a message to the user, telling him to change it.(If only one access is allowed and you change the password with the same application or service then do not close context, else you should not be able to connect again.) Instead, if you use an external script, then the last acces should not give you problems.

Users logging via PEAP-MSChapv2

Hi, I'm having the following issue, Users authenticated via PEAP for getting WLAN access, do not run Microsoft Active Directory Login Scripts, because when they enter their computers once they don't have network yet, and only after loading their profile they get network connectivity.
How do you circunvented this issue? how to make sure users do run the login-scripts?

You need to support Machine Authentication.
Enabling Machine Authentication will allow the Machine to receive an IP address, and subsequently download domain policies (etc..) BEFORE a user even logs in.
When a user does eventually log in, your user will behave in exactly the same experience as over the wire, ie, scripts will run, profile will download, mapped drives will appear and so on...

New Leopard server installation; no user calendars via Web?

We have just done a clean install and migration of all users from a Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) server to a 10.5 (Leopard) one and are trying to figure out how to enable the user calendars.
Have done the step of turning on iCal server, which seemed to be necessary anyway to get the blogs working, and configuring it for SSL with a self-signed cert. Have also enabled calendaring in Workgroup Manager for the users we wish to provide with calendaring. Have also been able to figure out how to subscribe (read-only) to a user or a group calendar, and how to add an account via iCal to get read/write access to a user calendar via the "Preferences... Accounts" method described in other threads.
Why is it, though, that no user calendars or even links to them show up via the "Users" pages on the collaboration-services-driven web pages? Is the calendaring for users in Leopard server set up only to allow access via CalDAV clients, and not display these user calendars in or near the user's web pages, like the one that hosts their blogs? It seems odd that one can view and edit a group calendar via the web, but a user cannot see or edit his or her own calendar in the same way via the web. Did we miss something or do something wrong?

URL Parameterizing for BI Query Detail Drill Down via Xcelsius

I am In the process of building an Xcelsius dashboard using BI/BW as my source system, working on a "Details" URL button to allow the user to drill directly into the source BI queries with their current combo box selections.
I am trying to build a URL to pass a value to both a variable and to filter a characteristic. I want to pass a value to a 0fiscper variable and exclude an employee number.
I have been able to get each URL to work independently, but not working together. If I leave out either the variable part or the filter part it works, but it doesn't work with both the filter portion and characteristic filter section.
I followed other threads and used Web application designer (WAD) instructions to view the XHTML I will have to parametrize for my URL.
This is how I have flattened/parametrized it

User enrolled via API does not appear to be enrolled within Connect

Posting this here because it appears I have stumped the band over at connectusers.com...
Using the API to access our hosted account I am able to:
Login as a user (administrator or normal user)
Add a user
Change user password
List all of the SCOs that the user has access to
List the response to the report-my-training action
I am attempting to enroll a user by calling permission-update. It appears to work because the status returned is "ok". When I connect to the API as the user and call report-my-training the curriculum appears in the response. So far, so good.
Next, I accessed Adobe Connect via a web browser and logged in as the user. The curriculum I thought I enrolled the user in appears in the training catalog. The first sign of trouble is that the enrollment status is reported as "You are currently not enrolled."
If I direct the user to the curriculum using a URL like "http://hosted-account.acrobat.com/p31959044/?session=na1breezyxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx" the browser is redirected to a page that shows the title of the curriculum, but nothing more (blank white page).
What am I missing or doing wrong?

4402 guest users authetication via Web (username and password)

Hello Everyone,
We have an issue with Wireless controller model 4402 loaded with 4.0.179.11. This box has stopped authenticating (Layer3 security Web Policy based local usernames and password) last night.
Steps taken to resolve the issue:-
1) Created local usernames and password via Web and tried using wireless through Guest ssid, when user enters this information web page loops back to authentication.
2) Tried authenticating via another Laptop, had no luck.
3) Changed WLAN SSID Guest from Layer3 security Web Policy to Layer2 Security, created Mac filter table for guest on the Controller. Guest was able to connect to the internet.
We have not made any configuration change. As this issue affected all Users, we restarting the controller after which issue was resolved. As per my colleagues this has happened couple of times and every time restart fixes this issue.
Please shed some light on this.

INTERNAL and EXTERNAL users authentication via OAM

Hi ,
We have a scenario where in a resource is protected by OAM and we want the internal users in the system to access the resource w/o and authentication , However at the same time we want the external users should be challenged by OAM for credentials .
How to implement such a scenario ?

More details (architecture etc) would be needed to suggest any kind of solution.
Also content served is static or dynamic ? If content is dynamic then backend component (app) would expect identity to be propagated to it. This could be potential issue if internal user wont authenticate.
If it is static content then you can make use of rewrite rules / rewrite conditions to filter ip address (internal users should have some ip address range). Although you may have to do multiple url rewrite at apache level to by pass authentication.
One another solution is to implement zero sign on experience via WNA for internal users. WNA would take advantage of user's login to desktop. Hope this helps.

Changing long user name via UNIX?

Is there a simple way to change a user's LONG name via UNIX (or some other method that doesn't involve System Prefs --> Accounts).
We're migrating from AD to local accounts and currently, the long names are: +Lastname, Firstname (my company domain yadda, yadda)+ and I'd like that to be simple +First Last+ after the switch. I can fetch the name using (system info) in an Applescript, but I can't figure out how to change it that way, either.

Guest user creation via API

I think I read somewhere there is an API for creating guest users on a WCS/WLC.
I am looking for a way to intergrating the creation into a intranet page.
Can somebody confirm such API and maybe point to a place to find it?

That is great news.
I ende up sniffing the traffic from the WCS to the WLC with wireshark and saw the reuqiered SNMP OID's for making a guest user.
So I have made a little (ugly) perl script that make a guest user on the WLC, send a email to a sponsor and send a SMS via kannel.
Ugly, but its cover our need for now.
But a API will make life (and the perl script) alot nicer.
