LiveType in FCE looks funny

I exported a video (SD) with a livetype title at the beginning. The video, when watched on a tv, looks fine but the title looks rough. It looks like the quality could be better. I just dropped the .ipr file into my timeline. What should I do to make this title look it's best?

When you dropped the .lpr file on your timeline, did you render that portion of your timeline before playing it back?

Trouble importing LiveType into FCE

I am trying LiveType for the first time with my video. I have created the file in LiveType and then tried to import it into FCE. When I view the background in the viewer it looks great. When I drag it to my movie and try Insert I get an error that says "Edit Operation had no effect. Check the target tracks. You may need to open the source clip into the viewer in order to see all of the target tracks". It doesn't add it to my timeline. I can drag it to the timeline, but when I preview the video it says unrendered as it plays. It has the red line in the bar above it and everything else in my video is green. I have rendered the video in LiveType and also just tried the LiveType file...
Anyone have any advice? I am sure this is something simple...

Appears to be a problem in LiveType and FCE as of Leopard.
LiveType files created BEFORE Leopard was installed import fine, but files created AFTER Leopard was installed will not import and return an error:
File Error. 1 File Recognized. 0 Access Denied. 1 file unknown.
Live Type files that are rendered as movies are importable and that is the workaround. But of course they cannot be edited again unless the Live Type file is reopened and re-rendered.
IOW, no import of a Live Type file directly into FCE.
Pro apps download doesn't appear to apply to FCE and you need a FCP serial # to access it anyway.
All suggestions appreciated.

LiveType in FCE 4 - no extra data disks

Hi,
I noticed in the FCE 4.0 packaging that the 2 Livetype data DVD's are not included. Just fyi... There is about 500 MB of extra LiveType stuff you can install on the FCE 4.0 install DVD, but there was also this same option on the FCE 3.5 install DVD. Am I missing something or did Apple skimp on the LiveType data with FCE 4.0?

I definitely agree...they lowered the price $100 and took $200 of features out. It's the first time I've ever felt a lack of value from an Apple Product.

Exporting between LiveType and FCE

Having difficulty importing files I created in LiveType into FCE. The qt movie I import is just a black screen. Same thing happens if I try to open it in Imovie.

Look back through several months of pages here and see wht you can find in the subjects for FCE. The version of LT that comes with FCE seems to be slightly different than the one that comes with the Final Cut Studio.
Has this ever worked for you? Are you sure you're interpreting the alpha properly in FCE?
Have you read the FCE manual and are you following the procedure precisely?
Most such posts are simple user errors but without more information we can't really help you yet.

You don't metion whether the car was hot or cold.

Hotmail Inbox suddenly looks funny

Today after I installed Microsoft Office 2004 for Mac, I found out that the font and layout looked funny in my Hotmail Inbox webpage. But other webpages still look normal to me.
Could somebody explain why this might happen?
I've tried to change the font in preference and switch between text encoding but nothing seemed to be changed.
Is it something to do with the Office programs?

FF4 fonts and photos look funny

OK, so I installed FF4 in w7, std installation-- the fonts in my usual sites all look funny and disconcerting (I just accepted font defaults, no tweaking). Pictures in my messages on a social site had a white border at top and bottom. Switched back to v 3.6, and everything is normal. I did look and notice that the photos still had a top and bottom border, but it was much less noticeable, so much so that I would not have seen it unless I had been looking for it.
So my conclusion is that FF4 does not have the graphics stuff down yet. Too bad.

Fonts of a PDF printout looks funny

Hi,
I don't know if anybody encounters this kind of problem. Sometimes when i print out a pdf file from Safari, some of the fonts look funny. It's like the letters get really close together. But when I look at in on the screen, it's perfect. I don't know if it's because the fonts don't exist in my OS X, and Acrobat tries to replicate the fonts or it the printer. Does anyone know how to resolve this? Thanks.

GNOME-Panel looks funny and the system is slow? [SOLVED]

My up to date installation with Arch started to work really slow today. Even the animation when you open a new tab in Firefox lags like hell. And at about the same time my GNOME panel started looking funny:
As you can se the toogle button looks weird to. Its not my theme nor the Murrine engine.

I cant remeber doing anything out of the ordinary? It kinda just happend. I have no idea at all whats causing it, so I dont now how to debug the problem? I feel like a complete noob atm.

Hi All -
Suddenly, movies look funny playing in Quicktime -- almost like they have some kind of Photoshop effect. When I play the same .avi files on other Macs, they look fine. Now I'm noticing that streaming video looks weird in Safari.
Any ideas? Is my video card messed up?

What troubleshooting efforts have you tried to correct the problem?
Have you tried repairing permissions & restarting?
Which version of Safari are you using?
Which version of QT are you using?
Do you have VLC Media Player and/or Perian installed? Both play .avi files in conjunction w/QT.
Suggest that you also cross-post in the QuickTime for Mac OS Forum if none of the above works for you.

I installed firfox 4.0 w/ yahoo toolbar, but didn't like & now my toolbar looks funny

have you restarted your OS? and do you have more than one firefox in your system?
looks like you got a little bit messed up. my suggestion is remove all the firefox programs, including addons, and do a restart of your windows, and then download a new firefox 3.6.16/3.6.15 from mozilla official, do the install, then install the addons.

Rough type using LiveType ad FCE

I am using FCE3.5 and LiveType on a G4 Dual 1.42 and 10.4.7.
I am creating white type with a drop shadow and then placing that file in FCE over a motion video section. My type looks GREAT on my computer screen. When I make a DVD of it and play it on my 36" TV, the type looks rough all along the edges.
Type is about 42pt and I tried both Goudy and Arial fonts. I am exporting the QT with no compression and my video footage looks excellent and all other aspects of the video. But all my type is rough.
Any suggestions? Thanks!

My QT export in FCE has horizontal lines in it. The movie in the canvas looks fine. What export options do I have to choose?

Mixing Livetype into FCE

I am adding LiveType titles to an FCE movie that I am compiling in DV format from HD format minitapes. I have the FCE video formatted in DV/DVCPRO-NTSC format, and I have added some LiveType titles. My question concerns the aspect ratio for the Livetype files, as it seems to me that my FCE video aspect ratio is now changed, and the movie is now too stretched laterally for its height. I read that if a LiveType file is the first clip on the timeline, then FCE will format the whole project to its format; the LiveType clip pixel aspect ratio is currently set at NTSC-CCIR 601, with a 720 x 486 frame size. The FCE clips are now showing a frame size of 720 x 480. Is this what it should be, and do I have the right pixel aspect chosen in LiveType?

How did the material get into your computer? If you captured it as DV with the anamorphic preset then the anamorphic flag will already be set. If not you'll have to set it. Make sure also that the sequence you edit into has the anamorphic flag set and is in widescreen.

Pictures in iPod look funny

The pictures that show up in my nano are funny looking. For instance there will be a big dark spot, or it will have the negative effect. Whats going on?

I have got the same problem.
Simply do a "Reset" --->
1) Put the Lock button on "Hold" and revert back to normal position.
2) Push the "Central" button and the "Menu" button for 10 seconds.
You should see your photos again!
