Livetype "Not enough memory to render a frame"

I'm doing some really easy (fade in, fade out) text for an instructional video in Livetype. My first problem was nesting the .ipr files in final cut and rendering. When I rendered and compressed to DVD one frame of each 7 second clip flashed
"unrendered" So naturally I tried to go back in Livetype and render each text sequence individually. Now it's giving me an error "Not enough memory to render a frame"? Now my machine has 8GBs of memory and I've got 80+GB of hard drive space to work with. Can anyone help me out here?

Sorry, guys, never seen this error in LT.
Mac error boxes are rarely accurate, they're just thrown up by some weird parsing routine, so, unless you can actually feel like the error is relevant, most of us don't bother trying to debug based on the box's description.
I hope you find a solution and please come back to close the thread if you do. It will be very helpful for future "out of memory" searches.

  • After Effects Unable to Allocate Enough Memory to Render Current Frame/ MeshWarp problem.

    Hello,
I am currently working with 17 layers in AE- CC 2014.1.1 (13.1.1)  Most of the layers have multiple effects, including the "Mesh Warp,"- which happened to have been freezing my computer constantly.  I finally had to change computers... First, I was unable to render these layers, because there is not enough memory space. So I went back to editing. After adding a couple of video layers, I went to play back, and got the above message:  "After Effects Unable to Allocate Enough Memory to Render Current Frame"
I changed my "cache" folder to my external hard drive. I also upped the cache space from 23MB to 50MB. But I am still getting this error.
In terms of the Mesh warp: Once i brought the effect to the video file, and tried to move the grid, I got the rainbow spinny ball. It went away after a while. As soon as I clicked on ANYTHING- i got the wheel again. This continued until I "Forced Quit." I don't know what thats about...
This is the info for the Composition Settings/ computer I am working on. i am trying to give as much information as possible. This is for my Senior Thesis! Can anyone please help me ASAP?
    Best,
    Julia

What are these layers you're working with? What size? What format? What Codec? What color space?
What happens if you turn on Render Multiple Frames Simultaneously (reserving at least one core for other programs)?

I assume you mean GB, not MB...
What happens if you save to version 12 and try to work on it there? (If you don't have an older version installed, try it: Creative Cloud Help | Install, update, or uninstall apps)
Have you tried rebooting your machine recently? Do other programs/apps//software run normally?

  • Unable to allocate enough memory to render the current frame

I am a bit of a novice at AE, just starting to learn. I have googled this, searched these forums and tried all I can think of. No luck. SO I will ask here.
I bought this AE file  http://videohive.net/item/-earth-zoom-customize/6451983
Here is the error message I get when trying to render
After Effects error: Unable to allocate enough memory to render the current frame (18172 x 18172 @ 8 bpc). Either decrease the memory requirements for the rendering of this frame, or install more RAM. (12805). For more information, see adobe.com/learn_ae_mem (7 :: 66)
I even tried to render the project without making any changes. No luck
    My info:
    Macbook pro 15” Mid 2012
    OSX 10.9.2
Processor 2.6 ghz intel core i7
    Memory: 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics  NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1024 MB
    Running AE CC 12.2.1.5
First thought, Is my laptop inadequate for this type of work?
When it says - (18172 x 18172 @ 8 bpc) is that the resolution it's trying to output? The project is 6 seconds long and 1920x1080 resolution.
I can render it at half resolution, but not at the 1080 res.
    Thanks for your help.

Purged cache, set it to purge every 5 frames ... no luck. Purge every frame ... no luck.
I tried disabling different parts of the clip to render. No luck until I disabled the inner shadow of the globe, and it seems to work.
What should your purge setting be normally for this ap? I think it was set to "0". SHould I move it back to 0?
    Thanks for your help.

  • 'Not enough memory' + 'Internal error' x 'Could not render the database' = Parting of company :(

I can’t believe the amount of concern / disappointment / frustration spread across every associated Fireworks forum re: CS5’s
    "An internal error occurred"
    "Could not render the database"
    "Not enough memory"
    "Crash without notification"
    Etc.,
We installed the CS5 trial – being more than wary about Adobe’s past releases – and lo and behold, all of the above beared ‘true’!
This is nothing new of course, we’ve all been experiencing this since CS3 – but hoping against hope - a newer release would solve the poor memory management and general ‘bug-ridden’ code; alas - as per usual, Adobe has not responded with any pro-solution based action, but successfully furthered our frustration with a couple of fresh gimmicks without strengthening the core software.
As an avid fan of adobe software […and a Fireworks freak] working in a design house that has many different employees with widespread software tastes – I eventually said ‘enough is enough’ after the umpteenth crash [as of 3 weeks ago] and have revisited the Rebel Alliance; ‘yes, CorelDraw’!  No I’m not going to go into some tirade about how much better Corel is etc. - as it has its own strengths and weaknesses, too […but without the hourly crashes] – so to be honest, we figure the time increase in some projects due to using Corel […time is diminishing with each project’s acquired experience] are negated by the downtime of Fireworks; so far, this is holding true.
This may seem drastic, but it has been a long time coming – that is, implementing a move from our decade invested workflow to a ‘somewhat’ new schema, but due to the disappointing aforementioned, eventually principal / expenditure comparisons / sanity / lack of support all culminate to such, and if there’s no support for the competition, well – then there is ‘no’ competition; a luxury Adobe has taken for granted way too long.
I truly hope Adobe turns around and fixes their ways, until then – we’ll be supporting those that do – and hopefully along the way, just maybe, with the added funds from disgruntled adobe x-pats – the software will far exceed what I used to love and adore […how I miss macromedia]; honestly, it would be near on impossible to argue which suite was better ‘either way’ – so it may not be such a distant future. Besides, with the market-door Adobe is opening due to such poor software, the new player sniffing around the edges will be welcomed by many with open arms; I know my/our allegiance will go straight to the company with the greatest software stability and sound support, whomever that maybe.
So here’s to hoping no more, and actually doing! Very sad...

I am also getting this error message. It happens randomly. Adobe help told me to close and reopen FW and then it stopped happening.  Does this sound like a good solution to anyone?

  • Could not render the database. Not enough memory.

This seems to be a big bug in Fireworks CS4. I am building a 10 page website. I only had the opportunity to insert about 10 high quality images into the project, and then tried saving the project as a Fireworks PNG. It appeared to Save successfully, however from that point on, any object I would click on, any layer I would select a message would appear.
"Could not render the database. Not enough memory."
Has anyone seen this before? How can I fix this?
I tried doing a workaround. I tried opening the saved file from Fireworks CS3. Before opening, it displays a message about insufficient permission in the registry. I click OK, and it opens in CS3. I can finally edit the project and make changes, and save it without problems. However, even after saving in CS3, I cannot open it in CS4 without getting the error message. It is not only on my machine. I send my project to others to see if they can open it via CS4, and they can't either. They get the same message.
I attached the PNG file, this is for a school project.
    Any help is most appreciated.

I'm relieved to hear that. So I trust that your images are all nice and small, file-size-wise.
Okay! I trust you have already defragged your hard drive and turned off all those nasty TSRs that eat up your RAM. Fileswapping is usually what slows my computer down.
Check for scripts that might be running wild in the background. Can't think what they might be, but if something is looping and shouldn't be, you'll end up with less free RAM to move around in.
I haven't noticed the problem with lots of layers, but I haven't been watching, either. Have you experimented with turning off the layers that you are not actually exporting? I understand the  convenience in keeping all those layers in there...it's a big timesaver in editing throughout a project. If all the layers are not needed in the image export, however, turn them off temporarily. That might save some elbow room.
It sounds as if your system fits the basics, but you might check:
    Windows
    1GHz or faster processor
Microsoft® Windows® XP with Service Pack 2 (Service Pack 3 recommended) or Windows Vista® Home Premium, Business, Ultimate, or Enterprise with Service Pack 1 (certified for 32-bit Windows XP and Windows Vista)
    512MB of RAM (1GB recommended)
1GB of available hard-disk space for installation; additional free space required during installation (cannot install on flash-based storage devices)
1,024x768 display (1,280x800 recommended) with 16-bit video card
    DVD-ROM drive
Broadband Internet connection required for online services*
    Mac OS
    PowerPC® G5 or multicore Intel® processor
    Mac OS X v10.4.11–10.5.4
    512MB of RAM (1GB recommended)
1GB of available hard-disk space for installation; additional free space required during installation (cannot install on a volume that uses a case-sensitive file system or on flash-based storage devices)
1,024x768 display (1,280x800 recommended) with 16-bit video card
    DVD-ROM drive
Broadband Internet connection required for online services*
Rather than jumping to think it's a bug, try a test with 9 layers, or 8 layers. If only 10 layers and up provide problems, file a bug/feature report or contact someone in support.
As this is a user forum, we (other users) neither speak for Adobe nor know everything about the applications from a support viewpoint, so while we're always willing to offer opinions and frequently solutions, real bugs are not in our bailiwick.
Perhaps someone with a multi-layer difficulty can chime in here.

  • "not enough memory to create CORp_PSLMalloc" error msg

    Hello everybody,
I've been getting this error msg every time I try to render a 1920x1080 composition. It has particles and high-res photos, but that's about it, (no video).
I'm on a 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 2.5 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM... and error msg actually reads "not enough memory to create CORp_PSLMalloc" / (132 K requested, 51K available)
Can anybody please tell me if I'm not setting this render right? I'm using H.264 compression, with highest quality and frame frequency set to automatic. it's 1920x1080 16:9 with no sound...
Thank you very much for your help!

    Mylenium,
Applied all masks in the photoshop files, but had the same problem, same error msg... it's strange indeed, i've been having problems with the user and the session (that i also don't quite figure out, this user has administrator rights but when I try to save files into a folder i get an error msg saying that the file is locked and i can't). Do you think it might have something to do with that? Like, AE trying to access the files but somehow having problems with that?
I'm on a Imac by the way...
Thanks a lot for your help!!

My comp is a 1280x720 30 second spot. Not too complex
of an animation with not that many layers (I know that
sounds vague). I've purged the comp and even tried the

    RAM with AE 7
    Thanks

Mmh, yes, indeed that very likely would be to blame on Quicktime. You probably had better luck with CS3 which handles H.264 natively via MediaCore. My guess that it is simply some odd allocation of the compression which could be fixed, probably even a simple export from QT Pro to the same format. Do the files correctly play in QT player? As an alternative to QT Pro I recommend attempting to run it thru SUPER©, which is free. Perhaps this will repair the streams and prevent the errors. If not, you will have to shelve out some money or find otehr ways of converting your footage, I'm afraid.

  • How do i allocate more memory to my iphoto application? i am unable to add more photos to my library  i keep getting a pop up saying not enough memory in my application

how do i allocate more memory from my hd to my iphoto application? i have over 80 gb on my hard drive, but only 1.7 gb allocated to my iphoto application & i am unable to add more photos to my library.  i keep getting a popup that says not enough application memory.

There is excessive swapping of data between physical memory (that is, the memory chips on the logic board) and virtual memory (one or more files on the startup volume.) That activity is relatively slow and causes the whole system to be less responsive. It can happen for two reasons:
A long-running process with a memory leak (a kind of bug)
Not enough memory for your usage pattern
Tracking down a memory leak can be difficult, and it may come down to a process of elimination.
These instructions are for OS X 10.9 ("Mavericks.") The procedure may be slightly different for earlier versions of OS X.
When you notice the swap activity, open the Activity Monitor application and select All Processes from the View menu, if it's not already selected. Select the Memory tab. Click the heading of the Real Mem column in the process table twice to sort the table with the highest value at the top. If you don't see that column, select
View ▹ Columns ▹ Real Memory
    from the menu bar.
If one process (excluding "kernel_task") is using much more memory than all the others, that could be an indication of a leak. A better indication would be a process that continually grabs more and more real memory over time without ever releasing it. Here is an example of how it's done.
The processes named "Safari Web Content" render web pages for Safari. They use a lot of memory and may leak if certain Safari extensions or third-party web plugins are installed. Consider them prime suspects.
Another process often implicated in memory leaks is "inkjet4" or "inkjet8," which is a component of the HP printing software. If it's present, force-quit the process in Activity Monitor to solve the problem temporarily. Empty the print queues in the Printers & Scanners preference pane (which has a slightly different name in each recent version of OS X.) If you don't use an HP printer, remove the software. Otherwise, if the problem is recurrent, update the software (which may not help) or contact HP support.
"Wired" memory should be a small part of the total. That memory is not swapped, but it makes less physical memory available which may then result in swapping. If you have a lot of wired memory, that's usually an indication of a memory leak in a third-party program that modifies the operating system at a low level. Ask for guidance in that case.
If you don't have an obvious memory leak, your options are to install more memory (if possible) or to run fewer programs simultaneously.
The next suggestion is only for users familiar with the shell. For a more precise, but potentially misleading, test, run the following command:
sudo leaks -nocontext -nostacks process | grep total
where process is the name of a process you suspect of leaking memory. Almost every process will leak some memory; the question is how much, and especially how much the leak increases with time. I can’t be more specific. See the  leaks(1) man page and the Apple developer documentation for details.

  • Continous capture to AVI -- not enough memory

I'm running LabView 2009 right now with two Camera Link  cameras (JAI CM-200MCL), each capable of running at roughly 25 fps with an NI PCIe 1430 frame grabber (They're rated for 30 fps, but I haven't been able to get them to run at this speed in LabView). I'm trying to get it so that I can capture a 30 second movie at least in which the images in both videos can be roughly coordinated with eachother in the time domain.
Currently, I'm running into two major problems:
    1) When imaging with both cameras and writing them to their own AVIs simultaneously, the respective camera fps values drop to about 17 each, screwing up the time fidelity of the resulting video and making analysis virtually impossible.
    2) Whenever I try to implement the code with newer AVI sub VIs in labview (requiring a compression codec), or when I try to take the raw VI and compress it by reading it and writing it to a new AVI file, my system runs out of memory and I get a message like this:
Error -1074396159 occurred at IMAQ AVI2 Write Frame
    Possible reason(s):
IMAQ Vision: Not enough memory for requested operation.
Does anyone know what I can do to solve this? Currently I'm at a loss as to next steps and can't seem to find a solution in the various discussion threads I've read on similar topics.

    Hi floomich86,
When do you get the error?  How many times the acquisition loop runs before you get the error?
Looking at it now, I think you're right that it's not a throughput issue, but has to do with the memory being used up.  I have a couple recommendations:
    1) Try using a codec after to process your images so they're smaller.  Use the IMAQ Get Codec Names node to find the various codecs available on your computer (it returns an array of all the various codecs), then use an index array function to choose one of these (try an NI one to start).  Then wire this codec into your IMAQ AVI Create node in your Vision_Acquisition_2cam.vi.  Adding this compression should help your images take up less memory.
    2) This seems like a good application for the Producer-Consumer architecture.  This would require revamping your code in a major way, but I think using this architecture would improve performance.  This architecture is best for programs that need to gather data in one loop and process it in another simultaneously.
Here are some examples of the Producer-Consumer architecture.  I tried to find some specifically with Vision functions in them but I couldn't.  Yet, you can still see how the architecture and data gathering/analysis works with these.

  • Lighting effects not working, 'Could not apply the workspace because there is not enough memory (RAM)' with 4GB RAM?

Tried to use 'render/lighting effects' on 5 more or less new different laptops now. All kind of Window versions.
They all have at least 4GB RAM. The Graphic Card is compatible.
Layer to work on is RGB-Type.
It's all about Photoshop CC 2014, trial version.
When I go to 'Lighting effects' it says first:
'The 3D features require that 'Use Graphics Processor' is enabled in the Performance preferences. Your video card must meet the minimum requirements and you may need to check that your driver is working correctly.'
    - I switched the 'Use Graphics Processor' on and off and restarted new - nothing happens.
    - Video card is compatible.
    Second it says:
''Could not apply the workspace because there is not enough memory (RAM)'
    - RAM on all the computers I tested it with is at least 4GB
    Please help!

We would need to know the amount of Video ram you have. If it is above 512 MB, then check for driver updates.

  • AEGP Plugin MediaIO Plugin:MediaIO2 error:0x4 not enough memory to complete this encoding (5027::12)

I am working on a video project in After Effects CS4 (with Trapcode Particular preset) that's 2:12 minutes long on a Windows 7 operating
system. I'm finished editing for the most part, but everytime I put the video in Render Queue it renders the video for a few seconds (sometimes minutes) and then stops with this message appearing: "After Effects logged one error: AEGP Plugin Media IO Plugin: MediaIO2 error: 0x4 not enough memory to complete this encoding (5027::12)". After I closed this message I checked the part of the video that did render was where I saved it to be as a normal file on my Desktop. I made this video with 2 compositions: 1 for the actual importing and editing and the 2nd for the rendering and thinning it out (this is because when I import the footage from my camera it's always very wide in after effects) There is nothing particularly abnormal about the video, not very heavy or anything and most of it isn't animated, just film. The size of the source material for the video is about 4.0 to 8.7MB.
    Computer's Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU  T5500 @ 1.66GHz
    Computer's RAM: 2.00

First of all, CS4 does not work well with non-production codecs like MP4. Use the Adobe Media Encoder (or something similar) to convert your footage to a production codec (Cineform, DNxHD, Quicktime with the Photo JPEG codec or Quicktime with the PNG codec).
Second, you're running AE on a system with only 2 GB of RAM? Good heavens, man - no wonder it ran out of memory! Upgrade that to 4 if at all possible. (Upgrade to much more than that if you have a 64-bit OS and plan to upgrade AE ever. Although, on a machine as old and slow as that, you might be better off getting a new machine if you want to do anything serious in AE.)
Third, what's your exact version number of AE? You should be on 9.0.2 if I recall correctly.
Fourth, your video shouldn't be looking weird in AE. It's probably misinterpreting the pixel aspect ratio of your footage. Fix the interpretation and you shouldn't have to have a separate comp for changing its size.

  • ITunes 6.02 problem ("not enough memory error")

I attempted to update iTunes to the newest version yesterday, and for the most part everything went as planned. The application updated, everything seemed to be working afterwards.
The next time I went to open iTunes I get an error of "The iTunes application could not be opened. There is not enough memory available." Seems odd to me, but I quit out of everything and try again, still no iTunes. I can still open Photoshop, Flash, Logic Pro and other more memory intensive apps, but iTunes will not open.
    Computer setup:
    Dual 1.4Ghz G4 w/ 1GB RAM
    Things I've tried so far:
    Restarted computer
    Repaired permissions
    Reinstalled iTunes
Deleted iTunes prefs that I could find
    Ran around screaming
So if anyone has any other ideas as to what to do, let me know. Is there a way to get a hold of an old version of iTunes? Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,

As long as I don't wear you out with this Unix command-line stuff, let's plug away at cracking this nut.
I'd be interested in seeing the 'top' headers immediately after a reboot. Check that nothing much is running in the dock. Then try iTunes right then. I know you've said you've done this, I have to ask anyway, sort of like Apple causes you to do stuff in their sequence when you call them.
I've never heard of 'SupportedApps.txt' find it and tell me what's in it. Does it mention iTunes? If you can't find it via Finder or Spotlight,
    Type: find -x / -type f -name SupportedApps.txt -ls
That will search the entire boot drive for it.
361 Mb (+ 12 Mb should be plenty of memory to run iTunes.
Okay, did you add any codecs to your system recently?
Like me, I see you've installed DivX and Flip4Mac.
According to the trace, the last two files iTunes opened before it exited were both /Library/Preferences/.GlobalPreferences.plist
That seems a little odd to open and read in its contents twice in a row. Anyway that file seemed to indicate another codec called Soundflower?
    com.apple.audio.CoreAudio.DeviceSettings.Soundflower_AudioEngine
That's one to dup and delete and retry iTunes.
As is the above GlobalPreferences file.
In fact, you might look at this list and try and figure which other ones to try getting out of the way. I say to dup and delete the original, as opposed to simply renaming the original, because those darn Mac aliases can locate a file even if you've renamed it, unlike Unix symlinks.
Every time you retry iTunes, recheck the most recently modified files in /var/log.
Note that all of the files listed below might not exist, they were attempts to open the named files.
This is the list of all plists iTunes opened:
    # grep plist Trace-iTunes.txt | sed -n '/NAMI/{ s/^[^"][^"]*"//; s/"//; p; }'|sort -u

It's sorted alphabetically, and uniquely (no dups).
I don't know if they are higher priorty to test zapping, but these are the ones from the above list with 'iTunes':

    Oh, there's that file:
    /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/HAL/Digidesign CoreAudio.plugin/SupportedApps.txt
    // SupportedApps.txt
// This text file is used by the Digidesign CoreAudio driver to determine
// which apps are allowed to use it. Only apps listed in this file will

Well, there's iTunes listed in it.
I'm suspicious of QuickTime (for no apparent reason).
Pulled out of the above big plist output:

You might try zapping some of those.
Oh, you downloaded the Sims 2 via P2P using Azureus, just like me. Ya might want to take down yer trace file now
I'm surprised there's not something more in /var/log.
cd to /var/log, type: touch asl.log
    type: chmod 777 asl.log
I'm not sure what asl.log stands for, but it sure gets a heck of a lot of stuff on my system.
That's it for now, you've got to plug away at those plist files. Someone just posted about a plugin (they are also a likely culprit). These are all the OSS references:

  • Save for web--not enough memory

On a dual g5, 6gb ram I've tried to save for web an animated gif that is 960x681 pixels and 612 frames (about 10 layers with 20 tweens in between each).
It optimizes none to quickly and then 15 minutes later I get a not enough memory dialogue. Is there a way to avoid this?
    alan

Well if you want to do this then probably the best way would either be After Effects which exports animated gifs.
I was under the impression that PS could only do a 500 frame animation. Or maybe that is a movie clip.
If After Effects is too much for you then the other alternative in the Adobe Suites would be Fireworks.
I would think Fireworks would be best. As it is design to optimized for the web much more so than PS. Watch the tutorial on animation and it is not difficult at all.

  • Rev Telecine: Not Enough Memory Error

Attempting to reverse telecine on a 2 hour 29.97 source clip. Have tried both DV and uncompressed 8-bit.
Cinema Tools 3.03 always reports that there's not enough memory to complete the operation.
    This on a Dual 2.0gHz G5 with 2GB RAM, under 10.3.9.
Anyone gotten around this? Anyone successful with material of this length?
    Cheers,
    Joe

The tool isn't really meant for doing a whole feature at a time. It works best on individual clips/takes.
Capture your takes starting on an "A" frame and then run reverse telecine on the individual clips.
Another thing that will not work out too well is trying to reverse telecine on a piece of video that was edited as 29.97 with pulldown in it ... If the 3:2 cadence isn't uniform you'll get jittery output.
