LiveType will not open or load
I just installed LiveType 1.2. I was so excited at the prospect of using it. big let down..... when i try to open it all i get is the screen that says live type and my little beach ball spins and spins and spins and the program never opens. what could be the problem? I have restarted my computer and still not luck. any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. i was really looking forward to "playing" with this program

I haven't used v4.5 in years. If it has "stopped working" you are left facing a reinstall of the software form the original disks.
You must understand your thread raises moer questions than I can answer. You could have acquired LT1.2 on its own but it's part of the larger FCP package and should have been installed with the rest of the 4.5 or 5.0 setup. I'd start looking for a fellow student who has a working rig. You could waste several days trying to reinstall.

Facetime will not open or load properly
I have downloaded Facetime onto my IMac, and it will not open correctly, just shows the black screen with camera off. At times will say there is an internal error and ask me to quit and relaunch. Cannot access preferences. Any ideas? It works fine on my Macbook and my itouch.
I'm facing the same kind of trouble. Have been working on a short iMovie (about 3 min.) where I've been using cutaway to insert images. Now iMovie won't entirely load, I can't select Projects or Events. The movie I was working on is present in the editor and I can play it by pressing the space bar, but otherwise can't be controlled.
Odd thing, the three round buttons (stop, minimize and maximize) don't show anything when I run my mouse over them. I've restarted the machine, no change.
Is there an issue in "linking" still images into iMovie projects? Do those images get copied into the movie or is iMovie simply referencing their locations on my drive?
Should I consider reinstalling iMovie? If I did that would it destroy the Projects I've created? -
After working fine in the past, LiveType decides to not open anymore when I need it for a project. I try to launch the program and I quickly get a "LiveType quit unexpectedly" window. I've looked through past discussions and tried some of the solutions but nothing has worked.
In the Mac HD>Library>Application Support>LiveType folder, I have the following folders: Effects, Images, LiveFonts, LiveType Data, Movies, Objects, Templates, Textures. There is nothing inside the LiveType Data folder.
There is no "com.apple.LiveType.plist." in the Library>Preferences folder. I didn't delete it. It wasn't there to begin with.
Repaired Permissions. Nothing.
Searching my computer for anything named LiveType only pulls up the actual program.
Also, I use Final Cut Express which is where I got this version of LiveType.
Can anyone help?The operation is almost always a waste of time. However, "time" has to be measured somehow. How long would it take you uninstall and reinstall compared to debugging? It's all academic if the reinstall solves nothing, which, in my years hanging around here, is the more likely result since reinstalling usually does not solve the root issue, whatever it might be. Looking for the Livetype.plist in the wrong place, for instance. Reinstalling would not solve that problem. There are only a few deep file corruption and file damage issues that reinstalling might solve but these usually have some symptoms or at least some events that might suggest such damage; a power failure, for instance, or a dropped MacBook.
Reinstalling seems to be a carryover from the Windows world where it might actually accomplish something, dunno I have zero experience with Window reinstalls.

Logic opens but projects will not open or load

Prompts me to create a new project... when I create a new project - logic remains open and doesnt hang - but the UI will not come up...
If I try to exit logic it asks me if I want to save my project...
I have deleted com.plist files... still nothing

ITunes Install will not open or load =(

I just bought new laptop
Downloaded the iTunes file to install
The 'run' box come up saying
"open file - security warning, The punlisher could not be verified, Are you sure you want to run this software"
I select 'RUN'
then a little loading bar flashes on screen and it stops and disapears
I have deleted and reinstalled about 5 times now.
Disabled my security and everything.
Even DELL helpdesk linked to my computer and couldnt work it out.
Can any 1 help?

So, for the past few weeks I've been putting together a wedding commemorative movie for my friend. One random day, I tried to open the project and it wouldn't completely load. There was no "scroll bar" even though the movie would play. And, I could not click on any icons (title, transitions, inspector, etc); I can't even close out iMovie using the small red "x" when this project is open. Other projects still open and play properly, just not this one.
I've made plenty of movies with iMovie in the past. This one is the first on iMovie '09 and I was loving the new features up until this point.

The Music app on my ipod touch will not open?
The Music app on my ipod touch will not open, it loads but the sceen is always blank and then closes the music app and goes back to my list of apps.. what do i do? any ideas?
I have the same problem since a couple days ago, I will try to refrain from swearing or slagging on Apple, got a few questions for you, Gerbrandt, or anyone else who's had this problem and worked around it by means of a 3rd party app:
1-Since using panamp have you used your ipod in any docks successfully? (ex: I have a JVC car deck, a Klipsch dock and the Yamaha dock for my home theatre, all will be worthless if I can't resurrect my iPod as a music player)
2-Has using panamp done anything to help the original Apple music app to work or has it stayed dead?
3-Do you have any smart playlists? Like others with the 64GB model I have many many songs (that's the WHOLE point of the large capacity iPod, isn't it?) and I found that the more smart playlists I had the worse the apple music app behaved back when it was still working.
I'll check out panamp tonight, hopefully that will stop me from curb-stomping my iPod.
Anyone know whether an Apple "genius" has access to any sort of debugging facilities that would make it worth visiting the store for help on this matter? (ex: if they have root access to check for corrupt song database, or debug logs of some sort, or can do any direct manipulation of commands over the dock connector).
It sure would be nice to know why this happens, I have about 14,000 songs locked in iTunes now and many hours of time invested in ripping my CD collection but I don't want to buy a replacement iPod only to have this happen to it too. It's annoying enough the 4 hours it takes to resynch after a system restore (which in the end did nothing to resolve the original issue). -
I have a CC Photography License and tried loading the new Lightroom cc but it will not open (only flashes the welcome screen for a split second) then goes blank. I tried uninstalling it, rebooting, etc. several times and it will not work on my Mac with Yosemite. Please help!

I have a macbook pro 10.8.5 and the Application Safari will not open no matter what i do, I try to open the menu of Safari but it won't let me either, the mouse will just be loading. Each time i open it, it says "Application Not Responding" and I try opening it in my Finder and it'll say "The Application 'Safari' cannot be opened." and below that it'll say "-1712" Please help? I would really like to open it again.

my macbook is loaded with microsoft word for macs and every time I try and open the program I get an error reading and it will not open. This is what it says:

Maybe the preferences file is corrupted. You should be able to find the Word preferences file in the folder:
your user name/Library/Preferences
Its name is com.microsoft.Word.plist
I suggest you drag this another folder and try Word again.
If that doesn't work then you might find clearing the cache files will fix the problem. You can do this manually but I never bother. Instead I use a program like Snow Leopard Cache Cleaner (shareware) or Onyx (free). These programs do lots of other maintenance jobs so it's worth having at least one of them.

I upgraded to the latest iTunes 11.1.4, after a prompt from the iTunes store. But will not open after the upgrade. One of three error messages told me to reinstall. I did. Restarted and scanned. But no help there. So I unistalled and re installed from Apples' website. The installation was okay as usual but still will not open. Keep getting the same error messages. Office 2004 and Other Applications Don't Work in Lion/Mountain Lion
If you have Office 2004 which is a PPC-only suite, it will not work in Lion/Mountain Lion. You need to upgrade to Office 2011 - Mactopia - or you can try the freeware suite, Libre Office, that is functionally similar to Office 2007 for Windows except it works on Lion/Mountain Lion.

Adobe 9 worked fine, then just stopped working. Loaded adobe 11 and it will not open any .pdf files

No, neither vers. 9 nor 11 will do anything by itself, no errors, no nothing, hourglass shows up for about 10-15 seconds, no message, no nothing. Very frustrating, to say the least. When you have 11 loaded it says Acrobat failed to load its core .DLL but this is several minutes later. Can’t find anything relating to that problem. Any help would be appreciated as I have some very important files that cannot be opened.
